Led Zeppelin was found to be not guilty of stealing Spirit's song Tarus. Who cares what the court says, Jim and Matt have opinions. Not being lawyers does not deter them from talking about the descending chromatic fourth. Is this like Vanilla Ice and Queen's “Under Pressure”? The do-woop cord progression? Could Metallica sue for other bands writing a song in E minor? Where does influence end a ripping off begin?

Matt retells his Eric Johnson story.

Back to music. It's always a good time to talk about Steve Vai. The 25th anniversary of “Passion and Warfare” along with a new release of “Modern Primitive” The two-for-one release is a great deal, maybe even a steal, on physical media but why the heck is it so expensive to get a high resolution download?!
