RATING
A great show. A few episodes have made a big impact on me and changed the way I think about things.
As of writing, the first two seasons of this podcast have been absolutely phenomenal. Possibly my favorite podcast, only rivaled by Radiolab.
A general psychology podcast with substantial, hour-long episodes. Lots of interviews, lots of dipping into multiple perspectives on any given topic. It's good fun to listen to, and doesn't feel drawn-out or long-winded.
This is one of my favourite podcasts. Never a dull episode.
I could hang with these women! They know how to tell a story and seem like a lot of fun.
Really interesting topics!
This show ALWAYS lands the story. Often, it shifts my thinking in lasting ways. Thank you!
This show should be called "Vocal Fry: The Podcast". Your episodes seem really interesting but I can't get more than 5 minutes in before I have to turn it off, as neither host can speak without constant vocal fry, and it is unlistenable. Please learn to speak without vocal fry or get new hosts.
Small changes are what make us unique--this podcast helps show how some of these changes, and the people they have happened to, have made them memorable.
The first few episodes were completely amazing, but they kept playing with the formula until it became damned near unlistenable.
The P-word episode: The woman spoke slowly and emphasised every word in an awkward meek way. It was so infuriating. You want to shake her, because its so stereotype of a passive woman and creepy. Wishy washy and insipid a grown woman sounding like a 5 year old. It's the first episode I've heard so nothing to compare, but what I heard is lame.
TRAGIC. Since the new hosts started, this is a completely different podcast. And it’s terrible. Definitely listen to the first seasons- they are well-researched, emotional… I was floored. The story-telling was listener-focused and provocative. Now I feel like I’m listening in on a super boring and totally inane high school sleepover. I wonder what Alix and Lulu are up to. These new hosts should have started their own podcast, instead of gravely disappointing an established listener base episode after episode.
Never light listening, but always compelling. Yowei is fantastic.
Decent podcast about invisible things that shape our lives. Some episodes are stellar, though it does get lost at certain points and loses its direction at some point. Still worth listening to it to get the best episodes.
Not every episode is a winner, but those that are pose insightful questions and explore interesting perspectives. The theme of this podcast can be pretty though to pin down, and as a result the topics covered and how they're handled are very diverse - this is both a pro and a con of the podcast. If you want often-interesting converage of diverse topics in diverse ways, this podcast is for you. If you want a really clear theme and a regularized, systematic approach to linked topics, you might prefer to look elsewhere.
Love this pod! Such a heartfelt and meaningful message
Had to change my rating after the new season came out. Loved the first season, so interesting, great stories. The next one is so blah, it's so disappointing.
An A-grade example of non-linear narrative non-fiction. The way the creators of this podcast weave through concepts is masterful and engaging.
This is one of my favorite podcasts, always revealing something surprising about our world, beliefs, and the science underpinning them.
One of the first podcasts I ever listened to.Mind blown.I was rivited and completely teleported.Anyone and everyone will love this.Excellent.
