I feel as though I, a cishet white boy from Pennsylvania, am not necessarily in the target demographic for the themes in this story. With that said, Lake Song is kind of a wonder. It's about community, by community, for community. The sound is breathtaking at times. The story takes some turns which I found thrilling. The music gave me goosebumps. There were character moments which I struggled to understand, but I can't criticize for not being able to relate. That just means the show is talking to someone other than me. Nothin wrong with that. Surprising, emotional, and beautifully crafted by people who seem like the kind of folk worth lifting, because lifting others is what they do.
