Sarai Gehrood's father is dead. She is being sued by a mysterious Council of Pathetiques for every last pig on her father's farm, which leaves Sarai with a difficult decision: forfeit the wealth her father left her, or betray her personal ethics and consult the Fox Den's Tuckerson, a controversial philosopher, known for training the young to "fabricate truths" and win their cases in the progressive courts.
