One of the things Todd and Tony concern themselves with when they’re not goofing off is how to incorporate social media into their work lives in such a way that they don’t know they’re at work. It’s really one of the main things they do. But being social at the beach does have that double connotation. Getting out and talking to people is one part, putting photos and commentary about it is another. For them, the difference between being social at the beach and doing social media at the beach also is negligible.
This week, though, they’re joined by Natalee DeHart who, in addition to running GCFL Productions, including building websites and planning promotions is a real advocate at the right kind of being social at the beach. She’s also married to Todd, but I only mention that to clear up the fact that they have the same last name.
Natalee and Todd always have had a knack for making the chore of promotion a lot more fun. In this episode we (eventually) get into the more prickly parts of helping business owners and especially restaurants with their digital footprint. Particularly Yelp, which can be a really kooky place.
We said “eventually” because Tony had just returned from a trip to New Jersey and sometimes it’s hard to get him to shut up about it.
A big part of the show is talking about one cool thing about living at the beach. This week, Todd and Natalee both had the same cool thing, but it was a really cool thing. They spoke about participating in the “White Party” a local charity event where the dress code is Avocado. OK, that’s not true at all. Everyone dresses in white and dances and has a generally awesome time while raiding money to support the arts at the Freeman Stage at Bayside.
This is a “before” photo. For the during and after photos (particularly the video of Natalee rapping) you’ll have to check out Todd’s Instagram page.

Tony’s one cool thing was announcing that this site was done, but if you’ve gotten to this part of the story, you know that already.
