After earning his BS and MS in Horticulture, he came to the Department of Horticultural Science at NC State University as an Instructor and Undergraduate Teaching Coordinator. He spent thirty-four years teaching and advising over 20,000 students. Although Bryce retired in 2014 he still teaches part-time at NC State. For eleven seasons he hosted and produced the three-time, Emmy winning, UNC TV public television show “In the Garden With Bryce Lane.” Logan's is a family owned, award-winning garden center located in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina.
