4:00

I just saw that you can make such

4:02

a powerful impact with doing events inside of

4:04

prisons and very unique events inside of prisons.

4:07

And that's kind of where I met Shelby

4:09

along the way. So we started posting videos

4:11

of our events, sharing those testimonies and stories.

4:14

And one thing that's very unique about the way that we

4:16

do it, which is something the Lord

4:18

really put on our hearts is like, not

4:21

just doing an event and like, almost

4:24

the incarcerated are there for entertainment. But

4:26

we actually try to figure out how do we

4:28

include them? So we

4:31

have their choir in there. We have a

4:33

guy singing or a girl singing. We have

4:35

there. We just try to

4:37

figure out like, how do we make them involved? Because

4:39

when there's buy in, like the

4:41

whole event changes and people's lives

4:43

are changed in such a

4:46

different and more unique way. Well,

4:48

I'll never forget when I was serving in that

4:50

prison, I remember we

4:53

would break up into small groups and

4:55

they would strategize of how to reach

4:58

other inmates. Like they were sitting there

5:00

going, okay, we're going to be

5:02

on lunch duty with so and so and so and so, like we

5:04

need to bring them into this. And, you know,

5:06

I just think they are also the missionaries. It's

5:08

like, that's not just the mission field. They are

5:10

also the missionaries in there strategizing.

5:13

Like, how do we, how do we

5:15

bring more people the love of God?

5:17

So, yeah, I believe in

5:19

him. I think it's just that that unique

5:22

life situation where you've got nothing

5:24

else. Yeah, I mean, I was

5:26

working with people that inmates that

5:28

had lost their families, you know,

5:30

they were they were most of them life sentences. And

5:33

so it just it's over for them.

5:36

This is their only world. So

5:38

talk about Shelby, your story. You have

5:40

a very, very unique story. Talk about

5:42

what brought you to this work. Yeah.

5:45

So December 3rd of twenty twenty one, my

5:47

dad was shot and killed in the line

5:49

of duty. And

5:52

the man ended up living and

5:55

he was in the ICU for a little bit,

5:57

ended up making it out, survived.

6:00

And then we had his funeral, my

6:02

dad's funeral on December 9th. So about

6:04

a week later, and that's where I

6:06

publicly decided to forgive the man who

6:08

shot my dad. And

6:10

I didn't know it at the time, but

6:13

like news cameras, tons of

6:15

people were there and it ended up kind of

6:17

taking off. And I

6:19

meant it from like the secret place

6:21

in my heart. Like I really did

6:23

forgive this man. But

6:25

once it kind of took off was whenever I kind

6:28

of was able to get into

6:31

prisons and have this opportunity to share

6:33

my story. And about a year later,

6:35

I ended up meeting the man who

6:38

shot my dad in trial and I was

6:40

able to share the gospel with him. And

6:43

then I ended up actually reaching out to God

6:45

behind bars. I didn't know that it was Isaac

6:47

at the time, but I

6:49

ended up doing my first event with them.

6:52

And then actually my first prison that I

6:54

went into was San Quentin and it was

6:56

with Bob Goff and his team. I

6:59

will never forget that day walking in

7:01

and I was so unsure, but

7:05

I walked out being like, man, this

7:07

is really what God has called me to.

7:10

And so it's been so awesome

7:12

to get to partner with God behind bars

7:14

and see all the life change that God's

7:16

doing in there. It's really awesome. So

7:19

for those that aren't aware of the

7:21

ministry, talk a little bit about just

7:24

how it started. What's the goal? What

7:26

are y'all trying to do in the world? Should

7:29

be obvious, but I still like to hear it spelled out.

7:32

Our mission is to introduce

7:34

inmates to Jesus and connect them to the local

7:36

church. And we

7:38

started basically 16 years ago

7:40

launching satellite campuses

7:42

with local churches. So

7:45

our first one was in Las Vegas, Nevada. And

7:49

we just partnered with Central Church, who

7:52

was a large church there. And we install state

7:54

of the art equipment. We just

7:56

decked the whole gym out and we do it.

7:58

We specifically pick gyms inside of it. prisons

8:01

because some incarcerated men and women will

8:03

not go into a chapel, but they'll

8:05

come into a gym. So we deck

8:07

it out and create an

8:09

amazing experience just like church. They

8:12

stream in their services

8:14

and they do the whole service there.

8:16

We have volunteers go and it's amazing.

8:19

We're averaging close to 90 to 100

8:21

incarcerated men and women in every one

8:23

of our services. So from

8:25

the beginning of that

8:27

launch to now, we have 72

8:30

campuses across the nation.

8:32

Okay, I'm going to throw this in

8:34

real quick. What would somebody do if they wanted

8:37

to partner? If they're church. You can just email

8:39

me, Isaac at gotbehindbars.com. I don't know if I

8:41

put that out there, but I just know

8:45

Isaac. It's okay. Hopefully you have an

8:47

admin. It

8:49

really is. I mean, it's kind of fun. Would

8:51

you call this revival? I think a

8:54

hundred percent. And I think honestly,

8:57

it's been happening for a little bit, but

8:59

I think God Behind Bars has just given

9:01

an avenue for people

9:03

to see inside what

9:06

God has already been doing. And

9:08

you were really strategic. Again, we

9:10

check our phones, our

9:15

cameras at the door. Just

9:17

so everybody knows what a feat this is,

9:20

to get the technology into the prison is

9:22

a huge undertaking and the government has to

9:24

sign off. I mean, this is not

9:27

easy. And so the strategy behind that

9:29

you all set up to facilitate

9:32

it is just incredible. But I love

9:34

Shelby that you just answered without pause.

9:36

Isaac paused a little. What's your answer

9:38

to this revival? No, I take

9:40

that word very seriously. I

9:44

think sometimes it can be used flippantly. I

9:46

was just actually thinking as Shelby

9:49

was talking about our

9:51

event with Shelby actually in a women's prison.

9:54

Actually, I'm going to cry thinking about it because it was really

9:56

cool. But

9:58

Shelby goes up and speaks. actually like Shelby

10:01

started breaking down while she was speaking, which I had

10:03

never seen her break down while she

10:05

was telling her story, which also just shows

10:07

like Shelby's still walking through all

10:10

of that as she's a test as she's

10:12

sharing her testimony, which I think is just

10:14

a really powerful thing. I honor

10:16

and love Shelby so much. She's got

10:19

us such a unique and amazing work in her

10:21

life. But she shares her story.

10:23

And one thing I love about Shelby story

10:25

so much is she shares that like she

10:27

finishes her whole story. And then she says

10:29

on behalf of all the people that

10:31

you guys have may have hurt. I

10:34

want to tell you I'm going to stand in

10:36

their place and say that I forgive you. Wow.

10:38

She says, I forgive you and I forgive

10:40

you. And she just starts pointing at people. And

10:43

then she says, but I just want to

10:45

tell you a little bit about somebody who can forgive you

10:48

even more than I can. She

10:50

goes into the gospel. And like

10:52

these women were just weeping

10:56

in their chairs, but they didn't even

10:58

know what to do. So we had like an altar

11:00

call like, Hey, come up. And if you want to

11:03

come, and there's girls crying. And there was just so

11:05

much emotion at that time, like a couple girl women

11:07

came up. And I just

11:09

felt the Lord put on my heart, like extend this

11:11

just five more minutes. So we're singing run to the

11:13

Father. So then I just

11:16

walked up and shared like, a

11:18

little bit about like, I just

11:20

shared that, hey, Jesus loves you. And you

11:22

may have thought that you you just lost

11:24

your chance. Like, we

11:26

have that altar call and some a few people come up

11:29

and then we kind of move on. And we have to

11:31

the greatest thing about prison is time.

11:34

We have that luxury of time, like they're all

11:36

in there. So we gave

11:38

them like five more minutes. And I just said, Hey, like, I

11:41

think God is calling more women to come

11:43

to him. And I

11:45

just want to invite you up here. You haven't lost your chance.

11:48

And Jesus, Jesus is here right now.

11:50

And he's, he's calling you. And

11:53

we had like, I mean, Shelby can say like,

11:55

we had like 30 more women come up. And

11:57

there was only like five there in the first place. And then like 30

12:00

came and I'll never like this is ingrained in my

12:02

head and this is why I'm crying because you

12:05

could see it's a pavement you could see their

12:07

tears on the pavement it's

12:10

just wet of tears all around I

12:12

think that's where I'm like that's revival to

12:14

me it's like a heart whose

12:17

life a heart that

12:20

head-to-heart moment where

12:22

everything changes for these

12:24

men and women because they get preached out

12:26

all the time you know like but I'm

12:29

like how god I just want you to

12:31

change their lives change their hearts from that

12:33

moment has been like not I

12:35

think I think I heard that there hadn't been

12:37

a fight on that yard in months like it's

12:40

just been it's just so cool so I

12:42

say yes I say yes and

12:45

and that's one of the moments that I just

12:48

remember so vividly this

12:54

message is sponsored by greenlight as

12:56

your kids get older some things

12:58

about parenting get easier like

13:00

you can actually reason with them once they

13:03

can talk but other things don't

13:05

like having that conversation about money and the

13:07

fact is kids won't really know how to

13:09

manage their money until they're actually in charge

13:11

of it and that's where greenlight can help

13:14

greenlight is a debit card and money app

13:16

made for families so parents can send money

13:18

to their kids and keep an eye on

13:20

kids spending and saving while kids and teens

13:23

build money confidence and lifelong financial skills I

13:25

love the greenlight app because it helps

13:27

kids learn how to save invest and

13:29

spend wisely the greenlight app also includes

13:31

a chores feature where you can set

13:33

up one time or recurring chores customized

13:35

to your family's needs and reward kids

13:37

with allowance for a job well done

13:39

any system that is easy to set

13:41

up easy to maintain and actually

13:44

motivates my eight-year-old to do his chores

13:46

is a win in my book and

13:48

millions of parents and kids are learning

13:50

about money on greenlight it's the easy

13:52

convenient way for parents to raise financially

13:54

smart kids and families to navigate life

13:56

together sign up for greenlight today and

13:58

get your first month free embrace,

16:00

you feel his tug, you feel it and

16:03

that's what's happening. And another

16:05

great story, I'll just share this really fast. I'm

16:08

sorry for all these stories, but we

16:10

all are very grateful. Keep going. We

16:12

are in Texas at

16:15

a maximum security prison. So this

16:18

so this one has all the classes.

16:20

So it has just your G1 to G5.

16:23

Like so the worst to the least, it

16:25

has almost like 3000 prisoners. It's one of

16:27

the largest prisons. And they said, do you

16:29

want to go to solitary confinement? Oh,

16:31

gosh. And I was like, sure,

16:33

why not? Like, we're here. Might as well. And so we

16:35

went through a door, through a door, through a door, through

16:38

a door. And we

16:40

walk in and they're like,

16:43

those are the panda people. So

16:45

we walk in and the guy who's the shock

16:47

collar or was the shock

16:49

collar to one of the biggest gangs

16:52

in the US. I'm not going to share it because I don't want

16:54

it. I don't want anyone to hear

16:56

it. That may not. But and he

16:58

walks in. And says, that's the panda

17:00

people. We walk in and we find

17:02

out that panda app is the only

17:04

app that they're allowed to watch inside

17:07

of that facility. And almost all those guys

17:09

have come to know Jesus. They've announced their

17:11

gangs. And now they're getting

17:13

on. They're on their way out of

17:15

prison because of that. And those

17:18

are the revival moments where I'm like, I

17:20

love I love the version. Even there. That was just

17:22

through the app. Right. We weren't even there. We didn't

17:24

even know about it till we got there. Like that

17:27

Texas, the Texas Department of Corrections, they

17:30

are the ones who approve that app to be

17:32

the only app that they're allowed to watch in

17:34

that in that facility in all of

17:36

the state of Texas. Solitary

17:39

confinement. Why do you think I mean, I

17:41

would guess all the people making those decisions, some

17:43

of them are believers, some of them probably aren't.

17:45

Why do you think they're

17:48

approving it? The people that aren't

17:50

believers? I think it's honestly all

17:52

the feedback. They're like they're getting letters

17:54

and letters and letters of like, Hey,

17:57

I want this app. We haven't gotten it like.

18:00

It is truly amazing. We get almost

18:02

2,000 letters a week

18:05

of testimonies of

18:07

incarcerated men and women saying, my

18:10

life has changed. I just got one today where

18:12

a guy was in Leon

18:14

County Jail in Florida, got

18:17

the Pando app, started watching the first episode

18:19

of The Chosen, gave his

18:21

life to Jesus, and now I

18:23

got a video of him in a recovery program

18:27

and he's been sober for two years and just got

18:29

saved and got baptized. And I'm like, what?

18:32

Jenny, here's my one dream that I'll just share

18:34

with you right now. I would love for you

18:36

to speak in a prison someday. Well,

18:39

that's not a hard dream. Right. Yes.

18:42

Well, one of my favorite

18:44

talks you've ever given was at Passion Conference, I

18:46

think a couple of years ago and it was

18:48

like the 1% haven't shared. Yeah.

18:53

And I feel like- Good, let's do some confession. That

18:56

was- College kids, prisoners, like same

18:58

thing, same thing. Let's go. Hey,

19:00

oh really? I

19:02

mean, I couldn't believe, I was so nervous the first time

19:05

I did it. I thought, oh my

19:07

gosh, like I don't, I was a cheerleader in

19:09

high school. Like I don't even know how to

19:11

relate. And it wasn't that way at all. I

19:13

was like, these are, I could be friends with

19:15

several of the people I was hanging out with.

19:17

And these were, again, this was, I don't know

19:19

the levels, but it was the higher levels. Everybody

19:21

was there for a minimum of, I think 20

19:23

years. But gosh, the

19:25

passion, the creativity,

19:28

the way they're thinking about evangelism

19:30

and I don't know. It

19:33

changed me. Yes, the answer is yes, for

19:35

sure. Let's do it. We'll get some

19:37

plastic crates up there. Let's go. You

19:39

know what I'm dreaming of right now and I'm sure you've already talked

19:42

to my team is we're doing Gather

19:44

25. Let's just, how

19:47

can we get on your app? How do we

19:49

bring and invite everybody in first to

19:51

be a part of it and to watch it? And

19:54

then second, how do we make a portion of the content

19:57

from an event you all host? Like,

19:59

how could you all? host the world, the global

20:01

church from one of your

20:03

events. So has my team talked to you

20:05

about it yet? Yeah, my dream is to

20:07

do it live in a prison. So that's

20:09

what I'm thinking. This is like

20:11

my dream could true. So if gathering year two,

20:13

you want to hear a crazy story, everyone will

20:15

love this. So we start if gathering over

20:18

10 years ago. And the first one, we

20:20

never think past year one, but it just

20:22

blows up. And media is covering all

20:24

these things. And I'm like, oh, great. What are we going

20:26

to do next? And I was like, I don't

20:29

want to get into the event space. I don't know

20:31

about that. But I was serving

20:33

in those prisons. I was like, let's just do

20:35

all of if gathering from prison. Like we're

20:37

just, we're not going to have an event next year. We're going to

20:39

live stream it still. But we're going to do it all from the

20:41

prison. And I was dead serious. That was

20:43

going to be year two of if gathering all live

20:45

from a prison. And so you're literally going

20:47

to make my dreams come true. And then

20:49

we went down the road. That's why I know like how

20:52

hard it is. It's not easy to do the things y'all

20:54

have accomplished. And so we went

20:56

down the road really far. And it

20:58

was not just a no, it was like, there's

21:00

no way we can't get the technology inside. We

21:03

can't, I mean, and we were going up to

21:05

high levels of government and we just couldn't figure

21:07

it out. So you will literally

21:09

make my dreams come true if we can

21:11

go live from a prison.

21:13

And y'all host the entire global

21:15

church world. So yeah, let's do

21:17

it. What

21:19

are you feeling for right now?

21:21

Like with gather 25. And I

21:24

feel like watching just

21:26

if gather I get I watched it

21:28

gathering. Sorry, guys, I'm a guy. Yeah,

21:31

you're not the only one.

21:34

And then I've just seen gather I've

21:36

gotten to go into gather 25. Like,

21:39

I mean, what you're seeing across the

21:41

globe with revival, what are

21:43

what are you saying? What are you sensing God doing

21:45

right now? I'd love to hear that. You

21:48

know, I'll just say this. I think

21:50

something special is happening. I think we're all feeling

21:52

it. I think the dark is getting darker and

21:54

the light is getting brighter. And I think the

21:57

hopelessness is growing. And that, in

21:59

turn is causing. a lot of people to

22:01

want God. And I think the spirit's moving in a

22:03

really unique way, but I really want

22:05

to honor you, Isaac and Shelby. There's

22:07

two things I don't want anybody to miss about

22:09

their story is one,

22:12

Shelby, you are

22:15

embodying principles in the Bible

22:17

that feel impossible to live.

22:19

So turning another cheek, literally

22:21

you're walking into the places

22:23

with the people that have

22:25

with the person that has taken your

22:28

life and turned it upside down and

22:30

you're practicing it. And so you have

22:32

left room for God to do supernatural

22:34

things through you. And I

22:37

really believe that when God calls

22:39

us to those types of obedient

22:41

steps that are so

22:44

costly and you

22:46

can't even figure out in your own brain

22:49

why, so what if I forgive or don't

22:51

forgive? Like what's the difference? You can't like

22:53

forecast, you could never forecast what would have

22:55

happened. Right. But you did it

22:58

anyway. And then you opened the door for

23:00

the Holy Spirit to just go

23:02

wild through you in a way

23:04

that you probably couldn't have imagined. Right. And

23:06

then Isaac, what I heard from your part

23:09

was just too, like you are very spirit

23:11

led. Like you're sitting there listening to the

23:13

spirit in the moment. You're asking

23:15

the Lord, like, what do you want me to know

23:17

in this moment? And I really believe as we all,

23:19

many people listening, leaders, even

23:22

just people that are going, you know, I don't

23:24

have a role, but I am in a neighborhood.

23:27

It's like, listen to God. Like

23:29

whatever he says, do it. Because

23:31

the way of Jesus is so

23:35

mysterious and it's just not the obvious thing.

23:37

And I think that's what I love about

23:39

y'all story is you are, you're

23:41

submitted to that. And I think that's what we

23:43

feel on the road is just, we're just going

23:45

Lord, like people that have come are saying, this

23:47

is kind of messy. Like it's not fancy.

23:50

It's pretty raw. And

23:53

I think, you know, I just, to everybody out

23:55

there, it's like, do you want to be part of what God's

23:57

doing? Ask him, like ask him what you're supposed to do. So

24:00

I think, yes, I think we're seeing the

24:02

beginnings of an awakening. I'm like you, Isaac,

24:04

I don't want to put words or labels

24:06

on it too fast. I think history will

24:08

do that, but I cannot deny,

24:11

like I've told people, it's,

24:13

we could be saying ABCD, EFG,

24:15

and then explain the gospel, and they would all

24:18

come forward. Like this is not what we're doing.

24:20

This is what the Spirit of God is doing.

24:22

So that makes me so curious. And that makes

24:24

me feel like, wow,

24:26

what, what are we, what's happening in the

24:28

world right now? Yeah, I mean, I don't

24:31

know how that compares. I mean, Shelby, what's

24:33

your experience when you think of these

24:36

moments that you find yourself in? Yeah,

24:38

what are you hoping for? What are you

24:40

praying? What I keep coming back to is

24:43

just that he does all the

24:45

work. All I have to do is show up. And

24:48

I think people are

24:50

longing for him and they don't quite know it

24:52

yet a lot of the times. And

24:55

all they, I think all it takes is

24:57

just for them to taste just a little

24:59

bit of his grace,

25:01

just a little bit of his forgiveness.

25:04

And they may not quite understand it, but

25:06

once they just like catch a glimpse of

25:08

it, I think it

25:10

just swings the door right open and all

25:13

we have to do is show up, you

25:15

know? And so that's just what I keep

25:17

reminding myself of just with

25:19

my story. And I think

25:21

I feel really heavy and I feel

25:23

the weight of like, there

25:25

are lives on the line. And

25:29

so it breaks my heart for,

25:32

you know, especially the men and

25:34

women behind bars. But I just have

25:37

seen time and time again that God

25:39

really can make broken things beautiful again.

25:42

And so it's been really sweet. And I'm just

25:44

honored that I get to even show

25:47

up and get to be a part. Hey,

25:53

let's talk about something that we all

25:55

struggle with, which is finding time to

25:57

sit down and read the Bible. I

26:00

get it. Life is hectic and it doesn't

26:02

always leave room for quiet moments to sit

26:04

down with God's word. But what if he

26:06

didn't have to find quiet moments? What if

26:08

you could use the moments you already have

26:10

for meaningful connection with God? Like when I

26:12

take a walk around the neighborhood in the

26:14

middle of the day, chopping vegetables for dinner

26:16

or driving my boys back and forth from

26:18

school. We can't even begin

26:20

to tell you how excited we are

26:22

to be partnering with Dwell because Dwell

26:24

is the audio Bible app that puts

26:26

26:28

at home mom, wrangling kids, a gym

26:46

we love that Dwell has customizable features

26:48

a thoughtful reflection and a prayer in

27:11

five or six minutes. Summer is definitely

27:13

a season when we can't always sit

27:15

down and open the Bible to read

27:17

it. So this summer, instead of missing

27:19

out, let's stay connected to God's word

27:21

by listening to Dwell. If you're ready

27:42

your favorite story, Shelby, that you've seen? I

27:45

love all my times in prison, but I

27:47

think for sure, my favorite event was

27:49

this past one we did inside of

27:51

all women's prison. I'll never

27:54

forget at the very end of the

27:56

service, we had just,

27:58

I had just spoken, we had... done

28:00

response time, alter call, all the

28:02

things. And the women were

28:04

getting ready to leave and

28:07

they're lining up. And

28:09

I remember making eye contact with one

28:11

of the women across the gym. And

28:14

she starts walking towards me and she

28:17

comes up to me and I can tell that

28:19

she has something to say, but she's not really

28:21

concerned about like, you know, things for

28:23

being here, none of that. Like she came

28:25

up to me and she said, I really

28:27

feel like God needs me to say this

28:29

to you. And she had written down on

28:31

a piece of paper what she felt like

28:34

I needed to hear from God. And

28:37

so she just started

28:39

reading it and literally spoke so

28:41

much life into me. And

28:44

I mean, it's like she

28:46

knew everything that I had been battling,

28:49

every thought in my mind, it's like she knew all of it.

28:53

And so it was one of, of

28:56

course, I love getting to go in

28:58

and seeing all the life change that

29:00

happens from what we do in our,

29:02

in my story, but getting to walk

29:04

out of that prison being poured into

29:06

from the very people that have like,

29:09

are on the other side of what I've

29:11

walked through, like an inmate speaking life into

29:13

me, that's, there's no explanation

29:16

for that besides Jesus and what he

29:18

can do and he'll use anybody to

29:20

do it. And so that's

29:22

a moment I will never forget. It's just

29:24

like the gospel come to life right

29:27

in front of your eyes. That people

29:30

were lost and now they're not and

29:32

they are saints and they are ministering

29:34

to you. It's not just, it's beautiful.

29:37

So Isaac, where do you go from here?

29:39

I mean, you've conquered the prison system in

29:41

the United States of America. What's that? Like,

29:44

how do you, it's wild. Like how

29:46

y'all, how many people you reach every

29:48

week. Gosh, I don't, I'm

29:51

praying every day, God, like what do you want me

29:53

to do? What do you want us to

29:55

do? Where are we going? I pray that,

29:57

that same question I'm praying every day because

29:59

honestly, I want, I think in

30:02

my heart is, you know, when you

30:04

have sometimes like a bigger following and

30:07

you almost create expectations that aren't there

30:09

and, but that aren't from the God.

30:11

And I have just

30:13

prayed so much of like, Lord, would

30:15

you lead us? Would you lead our

30:17

team on these events to help us

30:20

do them in a way that honors you? I just

30:23

want to honor like truly, I want to honor God

30:25

and I want to honor him and I want to

30:28

make sure these are all about him. So

30:31

this year, I feel like the

30:33

Lord's really put on our hearts is

30:35

to, and honestly, it's actually been in

30:37

a lot of ways, inspiration of unite.

30:39

I'll be, I'll say it

30:41

out loud of just seeing just

30:43

the baptisms after to see

30:45

that response. And I

30:47

just have felt the same in the same

30:49

way of like, God, let's

30:51

do an event and let's have baptisms

30:54

right after. Give people the opportunity. Cause

30:56

that rarely happens in a prison. I

30:58

had, I baptized someone who had waited

31:00

six years and never got,

31:02

and that was, they got baptized. So we

31:05

did a family reunification in Las Vegas a

31:07

couple of months ago where we reunited a

31:09

family, uh, with their

31:12

incarcerated loved ones. And we got to take them out

31:14

of prison, which is crazy that we do that. I

31:16

don't know how we do that. That one I don't,

31:19

but we take them out of prison, reunite them

31:21

at a church. And we had like a picnic

31:23

and for a lot of these families, they've never

31:25

had a picnic together. You know, it's just the

31:27

simplest things. And there was a

31:29

baptismal there. And one of the incarcerated said,

31:31

can I get baptized today in front of

31:33

my family? So we walked through what that

31:35

means. And he was saved

31:37

and we got to baptize him right then

31:40

and there, like right away. And

31:42

that's just something that God has put on my heart of

31:45

let's just give every incarcerated

31:47

individual the opportunity to know Jesus, to

31:49

experience Jesus, to get baptized and to

31:51

change their prison. So we have an

31:54

opportunity. This is crazy too. We got

31:56

invited to do San Quentin again and

31:59

do two. incarcerated men on the

32:01

yard. Wow. Which

32:03

is insane. So and

32:06

then and then we also got approved for

32:09

the day before to do

32:11

another event at a prison where 900 guys

32:13

are going to be on the yard.

32:16

So honestly, it's like the Lord just

32:18

keeps open. We've never done California and

32:20

now California is involved

32:23

and we were about

32:25

to go to Texas and do events like

32:27

a five day revival night there. Also,

32:30

I think sometimes a sign of like revival in

32:32

the Lord's hand on something is it

32:34

doesn't seem hard right now. Like that's

32:36

right. That's how we feel. That's such

32:39

a good word. Certainly

32:41

it's a moment of harvest, which just feels easier than

32:43

the sewing. You know, we got to always

32:46

we were standing on the prayers of so

32:48

many people that saw no fruit, right? But

32:51

yeah, that's how we're feeling. It's like,

32:53

oh, Lee, this is easy. Yeah. But

32:56

the favor of God is just with you. Yes.

32:58

And I would say even too, but the

33:00

warfare seems way stronger. I will walking into

33:02

some of these prisons. I'm like, this

33:05

is one of the heart easiest events to pull off. One

33:07

of the hardest events that we've ever done

33:09

right there. And in there, like you can

33:12

feel it like we're in LA County jail, which

33:14

is the largest jail in the United States with

33:17

10,000 inmates in there. It was

33:19

our first one ever doing that. That was a couple

33:21

of months ago too. And I literally like we were

33:23

just trying to plug in our equipment. This is when

33:25

I know I'm like, okay, something's, something's happening

33:27

here. We plug in and

33:29

the whole plug blows up

33:33

literally a ball of fire blows up. And

33:36

I'm like, oh gosh, I don't, we need to

33:38

pray. Like we got to, we got to

33:41

get ready for this one. And it was

33:43

one of the hardest events we've ever done. I

33:45

mean, those are LA County jails. Like those are

33:48

guys who are actively in gangs actively, like

33:51

still in addiction. And

33:53

they're just waiting sentences. And

33:56

we got to share the gospel. And by

33:58

the end we had guys, people, guys were

34:00

crying. and two guys gave their

34:02

life to Jesus, but

34:04

you could actively see a shift

34:06

in dark and light in a

34:08

moment. And so I definitely

34:11

feel that like God's breathing

34:13

his favor, but

34:16

also like there's a heavy attack at

34:19

the same time. What

34:22

can the everyday person do? Honestly,

34:24

I would really say

34:26

to pray for our ministry. I'm trying to

34:29

actually update on our Facebook a lot more

34:31

of like, hey, we're going into this prison,

34:33

please pray. Because I

34:36

will say it feels

34:39

heavy. I feel it more than I've ever felt

34:41

in my life and I'm not just hyping that

34:43

part up. I

34:45

was walking away from some of these prison events. I'm like,

34:47

we did not pray enough and we need

34:49

to pray more and I need more people praying. So

34:51

I'm gonna be, I mean, follow God Behind Bars and

34:54

I'll be updating every time we do an event because

34:57

I think we just need more, we

34:59

need more prayer warriors, honestly. So are

35:02

there places you want to get that you're not yet?

35:05

Yes, I have so many, so many

35:07

prisons. If anyone has prison

35:09

contacts or entry

35:12

into certain places or

35:14

certain states that are more difficult than others,

35:16

we are- How many states are you in? I want to say

35:18

31. Oh, okay.

35:22

Yeah. You know, if you send

35:24

me the list of the states that you are

35:26

not in, I will put them in our notes,

35:28

our show notes, and people can, if they can

35:30

help, if they know anybody in government, you know,

35:32

it really is, that's how you have

35:35

to go to work for it. So

35:37

yeah, that's exciting. Yes,

35:39

it is really, it's very exciting.

35:41

I just feel our whole team's

35:43

super, like it's exciting to

35:45

get those tests. I mean, every day you're just

35:47

like, this is why we know what we're doing.

35:49

We know why we're doing this, to cure those

35:51

testimonies and to hear the stories. I

35:54

actually had like a renewal moment

35:56

for me, actually at San

35:58

Quentin, we got to bring some of the- incarcerated

36:00

up to a certain floor that

36:02

they had never been to. So

36:04

about 14 guys got to go up there who were

36:07

helping us all day. And they got to eat tacos

36:09

for the first, like for a long time. They haven't

36:11

had tacos, but it was the only floor

36:13

that had a window that they could see the ocean. They

36:16

had some of the guys, actually, most of the guys

36:19

hadn't seen the ocean or a mountain

36:21

or any, or even a highway in 15

36:23

years. They

36:25

were all, they all lined up on

36:27

this, this window. It was, it

36:30

was the most surreal thing. We were behind them

36:32

listening to their conversation. And one

36:34

of the guys said, look at the highway. Look at all those

36:36

people driving by us. And they don't even know we're here. That

36:39

was just a moment for me where it's that

36:41

Matthew, Matthew moment, where

36:43

it just says, remember those in prison.

36:47

I was like, this is why

36:49

we have to do it. We have to keep showing up

36:51

for these men and women. Like I always

36:53

pray whenever doing an event, like, because a lot of

36:55

these people have heard the gospel, but I'm just

36:57

like, Lord, may this be the time that

37:00

it all makes sense to them. Cause sometimes

37:02

just, you just have to keep going and

37:04

keep going. Well, guys,

37:06

thank you for what you do. And

37:09

we will pray for you. If you

37:12

do not follow God behind bars, you're going to right

37:14

now, you're going to go find him. I

37:17

want you to know that we're out here with you and

37:19

we are watching and so

37:21

encouraged and I'm glad we're friends now. And

37:23

I would love, I can't wait to come

37:25

to a prison with you. So you just,

37:27

you just named the time. We'll figure it

37:29

out. So grateful for you

37:31

guys. Everything you're doing. Thank

37:33

you. So grateful. Thank you, Jenny. Guys,

37:43

I have a special request to make.

37:45

Okay. You know, on your podcast app

37:47

where you can leave ratings and reviews

37:50

on the podcast that you listen to.

37:52

Well, it is honestly like one

37:54

of Jenny's favorite things. It's one of those ways that

37:57

we get to know you, uh, just

37:59

a little bit. by your reviews and your

38:01

ratings, and it helps other people

38:04

find out about the show. So would

38:06

you go today, and if you've been listening

38:08

for a while and you're enjoying the show,

38:10

can you go leave a rating and review?

38:13

We would so appreciate it, and we're

38:15

always grateful that you're here. We'll

38:18

see you next time for another episode of the Made

38:20

for This podcast.
