The History Channel has certainly lost some of its luster since they began embracing subjects like ancient aliens, megalodons, and the interpersonal dynamics of ice road truckers. However, the "Making" series has so far felt like a strong return to form. At this time, they've covered my boys Link, Uly, and T-Roos and I've enjoyed the narratives for all three. Naturally, a lot gets left on the table but there's plenty here to remind us that the Presidents most worthy of admiration are those with the kind of practical compassion one can only learn through unthinkable tragedy and pain.
