On the morning of Monday, August 8th, 2005, workers were slowly shuffling into the Central Bank of Brazil to begin their day. However, when employees opened the vault that morning, a whopping 164 million reals, had vanished. The money hadn’t vanished without a trace, though. There, through the steel reinforced floor of the bank vault, was a hole and a tunnel spanning two city blocks.
