In this episode our guest is also one of our hosts: Josh Forbes.
He’s had a busy couple of weeks. Josh was nominated for an MTV VMA for music video for WALK THE MOON’s hit song “SHUT UP AND DANCE”.
Turns out, however, that the tickets cost $650 a piece! Yes, that’s US dollars not Yen.
So, with the support of his friends, Josh proceeded to make a gofundme.com page to raise the money. He even made a funny little video.
Pretty soon, a lot of people were talking about this campaign. There was a big article for The Daily Beast.
Josh was asked to be on the Kevin and Bean show, he talked to Carson Daly. He was even going to be on NPR but Kai Risdall got sick (or did MTV poison his almond milk? We’ll never know will we?).

Eventually Josh went to the VMAs and had a blast. He wrote about his experience for the Daily Beast.
Tons of people loved the article. One person didn’t. She wrote her own Bizarro World negative piece in which she basically just reprinted Josh’s article but tried to spin him as a racist and a misogynist. She’s a mean person who should be ashamed of the $25 dollars she was most likely paid for by Stereogum for writing the article.
And somewhere in this mix, Josh’s first feature film was released. Yes, that’s right, CONTRACTED: PHASE II. Charlie enjoyed the film and gets a very candid interview from Josh regarding the recent controversy stemming from an unhappy piece written by the film’s first director, Eric England.
It’s all in good fun and hopefully makes for some entertaining listening.
