My parents grew up staunch Democrats. Every election they seemed to pull the lever for all democrat candidates. Shortly before he died, and after Roe vs Wade, my father confided in me that the democrat party was no longer the party he grew up with. They, he felt, were promoting evil.
Over the years I've talked with friends who are staunch democrats. They like my father, never pulled anything but the democrat lever. They, like we had been, were thoroughly brainwashed believing the democrats were for the working man.
We didn't realize they were for themselves, not the working man. It was just made to look like they cared. That was the window dressing.
While I changed years ago, I took up a personal study of democrat programs. I matched them against what I believed in my religion. I was shocked, their (now I call it a) Manifesto was in opposition to my faith. For me, this has to change.
