promotion, marriage, house, things like

8:02

that. But now picture that line

8:04

with all its little juts and outpoints and

8:06

endpoints, but it's hitting 20 or

8:09

30 points of joy. Those

8:11

represent the 180s, the

8:13

times where you let yourself find joy. Even

8:16

if you're in your 30s and you've never played tennis before

8:19

and you pick up tennis, or you start a new job

8:21

at 25 or even 30 or 40, who cares? Or

8:25

you take two years off from dating from 28

8:28

to 30 just to be your best self and

8:30

invest in travel, or you move

8:32

cities, you up and move cities and you try

8:34

that a couple years. You go somewhere you've never

8:37

been or you start creating music or art, even

8:39

though you have no idea what you're doing. 180s.

8:43

Those are 180s from expectation, 180s

8:46

from pressure, 180s from the path you've been on.

8:48

When we allow ourselves to deviate from

8:51

the path, we open ourselves up to

8:53

joy. Truly, when

8:55

we embrace 180s, we give ourselves freedom

8:57

that we can learn from and

8:59

that we can build on. And let's bring

9:01

this back to the real world. I'll give you two

9:03

examples here that have really struck me. Two

9:06

examples. One is like the 180s

9:08

given to you and the other is just

9:11

someone that you could learn from

9:13

about embracing and creating 180s for

9:15

yourself. The first, I saw this on TikTok

9:17

that I love. It's about how embracing

9:19

180s, the ones thrown at you,

9:21

they're preparing you for your life's

9:24

bigger moments. So I'll repeat

9:26

what I saw in this video. It was from someone named Rick

9:29

Reardon. He was talking about an artist.

9:31

Her name is Chapel Rhone. I

9:34

listen to mostly house music, just who I

9:36

am, I guess, but you probably know

9:38

who she is. She's having her moment. She's an amazing

9:40

singer. She's blowing up everywhere. She

9:42

sung at Coachella this past year and now

9:45

she's like on tour with Olivia Rodrigo, all

9:47

this crazy stuff, Chapel Rhone. But

9:49

here's what he said about her. Just take a couple minutes and

9:51

I really drive this home. She goes, he goes,

9:54

Chapel Rhone is living proof that it takes 10

9:56

years to become an overnight success and that the

9:58

universe is preparing you for your. really

16:00

represent this idea of

16:03

not living a linear

16:05

left-to-right life. Right?

16:07

Both him and Chappell Rohn embraced

16:09

these 180s that were given

16:11

to you or that you create for yourself,

16:13

not living just one single narrative. Both of

16:16

them and you and I are capable of

16:18

rewriting our story as many times

16:20

as we want. So that's the idea here. You know,

16:22

the ability to do a 180 in life is not

16:25

just reserved for these people. It's

16:27

a mindset. It's a willingness to

16:29

see life as entry points

16:31

for joy, as many as we're willing

16:33

to embrace. It's a willingness to embrace

16:35

change and it's an unyielding

16:37

belief in our capacity to grow and

16:40

adapt and create joy for ourselves. So

16:42

I hope this episode, if anything, just

16:44

gives you some perspective to create or

16:46

to embrace the 180s in your life.

16:49

But that's it. I'll end it right here. I hope this

16:51

was helpful. If it was, it'd mean a lot to me

16:54

if you'd share the episode with a friend, just send them

16:56

the link to Apple Podcasts or the Spotify.

16:58

Thank you for doing that. It means a lot. But

17:00

that's it. As always, thank you so much for

17:02

listening. Thank you for supporting me and until next

17:04

episode, I'm out. you
