Housing in Austin is no joke if you’re going to the University of Texas. Make sure you don’t fall for the fancy showrooms in those nice apartment complexes. They’re not as pretty as you think. I learned the hard way when they put me in a closet and charged me $800/month. I quickly got out of that lease and had to commute from Houston and sleep on a friend’s couch for two weeks. I was homeless.
