As an actual "hidden figure," she achieved the groundbreaking feat of becoming the first African-American woman to secure dual engineering degrees from Alabama A&M University and the Georgia Institute of Technology, through a full scholarship and over $100,000 in merit-based awards leading to a master's in public administration.
