By all accounts, it looked like Ellen Greenberg, a 27-year old first grade teacher living in Philadelphia, had her life together. She was loved by her students and engaged to be married to her boyfriend of three years, Sam Goldberg.

But looks can be deceiving. Because in the weeks leading up to her puzzling death, Ellen wasn't herself. She confided in her family that she was incredibly stressed out and attributed it to work. She had even gone to a psychiatrist who prescribed her a few different medications before finding one that worked well for her.  The stress seemed to be easing.

Tragically, Ellen would be found dead on the evening of January 26, 2011. She was discovered by her fiancé, who stated to police that he had to break down the door of the apartment they shared, (which was latched from the inside) before calling 911.

Despite the fact Ellen had received 20 stab wounds to the back of the head and neck, the abdomen and the chest, Ellen's death was ruled a suicide. But this would be hotly debated as those close to Ellen and strangers alike scrutinized the strange details leading up to and following her death.

Join returning guest Elaine, new guest but longtime friend, Amber and I to discuss the disturbing circumstances surrounding the premature death of Ellen Greenberg.
