4:49
Today is Wednesday, May 22nd And
4:53
the Boston Celtics survive game
4:55
one In overtime
4:59
And they win one that, what was
5:01
that? I was doing two I
5:04
was doing two What was the twos for?
5:06
The two was, they needed to win this
5:08
one because game two is coming up The
5:10
Celtics never win game twos That was, Hank,
5:13
you have to say that was like one of those ones where like We
5:15
shouldn't have won that game, but we did That was
5:18
huge, it was a wake up call win, which are
5:20
the best types of wake up calls Yeah, well you
5:22
guys needed, it sounds so weird because they needed wake
5:24
up calls That game felt like it was
5:26
over and then they took their foot off the gas in the third
5:28
quarter And all of a sudden, Hal
5:30
Burton hits that crazy bank shot to end the quarter
5:32
You're like, wait, this is a fucking one possession game,
5:34
what's going on? Yeah, even in the second quarter they
5:37
were up a lot and they kind of blew the
5:39
lead going into halftime They tied it up I
5:42
mean that's been the Celtics team for the last, you know,
5:44
three, four, five years Is being really
5:46
good, getting up, taking their foot off the gas
5:49
Always, always close games no matter what But
5:53
they overcame, they were stumbling at the end
5:55
of the fourth quarter A couple of really
5:57
bad turnovers, Jalen Brown was not playing good
6:00
in the fourth quarter and then he came up clutch when
6:02
it mattered most. It was a crazy shot that he hit
6:04
too and it felt like the Celtics had the game in
6:06
hand. They were up by three points. They had the ball.
6:09
The Celtics had missed a couple... Pacers had the
6:11
game in hand. Pacers had the game in hand. Celtics
6:13
had missed a couple three-point shots to try to
6:15
tie the game up. Pacers advanced
6:17
the ball past half-court. Boneheaded
6:19
turnover. Celtics get another crack
6:21
at it and then Jalen Brown's three. Felt
6:24
like it was off balance. It felt like it had no
6:26
chance at all in going in. It went
6:28
in and at that point it was like all
6:30
the momentum shifted. Because the Pacers had the game
6:32
won. And they gave it away. And when
6:34
you give a game away like that in the last 20 seconds, it
6:38
feels like even if it goes into overtime, there's nothing
6:40
good that's going to happen to you. Yeah. Our
6:43
guy, Stat Hole, just texted me and said,
6:45
both teams tonight had a 98% chance
6:47
to win the game in regulation. Neither team won
6:50
it in regulation. That's pretty crazy. But
6:52
yeah, that was... Those things are always so cool.
6:55
Yeah, no, they're fun to just look at. Be
6:57
like, oh man. Unless you're a Falcons fan. Yeah,
6:59
unless you're a Falcons fan. And
7:02
the Pacers... Like, I thought the Pacers were going
7:04
to come out flat in this game because they
7:06
just played a game seven on Sunday. Two
7:09
days rest or one day off. And
7:12
being like, all right, now you got to jump into the Celtics.
7:15
They just kept fighting, kept making shots.
7:17
They just keep shooting. Like, they
7:20
cooled off towards the end, but there was a moment in this game
7:22
where they were shooting like 58% again. You
7:25
know, insane. I
7:27
mean, they look at least like they're in this series.
7:29
Their game seven was also like half of the game
7:31
seven. Yeah.
7:34
Because they put that away early. So it's not like they
7:36
had to fight for an entire game
7:38
against the Knicks. But
7:40
I was surprised that they were able
7:42
to hang in there for as long as they did. I thought at
7:45
the end of this game, when the Celtics ended up winning, I
7:48
thought that the Pacers might be able to build off
7:51
it, but then I just thought for a little bit
7:53
longer, and this seems like the
7:55
most demoralizing loss possible. Well, it also was
7:57
weird because it was, if you
7:59
remember the- last like sequence I thought it
8:01
was gonna happen on the Derek white rebound where
8:03
he had that incredible rebound and was just out
8:05
hustling everyone and they kick it out and Jason
8:07
Tatum misses a shot and then The
8:10
Pacers get the ball back here like it now it
8:12
is officially over the thing about the Pacers is they're
8:14
really good offensively Right, they can score a shitload of
8:16
points, but if it's a close game, they
8:19
just they panic Yeah, they just smash the
8:21
panic button. They they freak out and Their
8:24
coach was terrible taking his time out
8:26
It's Rick Carlisle didn't do shit in the last minute
8:29
of that game that he should have done I also
8:31
think Pascal see I come like he got stuck in
8:33
this spot Jalen Brown can't hit
8:35
free throws Hank. You've been talking about it all year It
8:38
bothers you you get scared when he goes to
8:41
free throw line. I Just
8:43
like in that situation I know I'm not
8:45
a big follow-up three with eight seconds left
8:47
and more like follow-up three with five seconds
8:49
left and under But when
8:51
Jalen Brown gets the ball He felt
8:53
like Pasco see I come was about to fall and then
8:56
he realized oh shit He's gonna shoot yeah, and then didn't
8:58
get a hand in the face and then you get that
9:00
which was an incredible shot by Jill He was a dealing
9:02
bright and he hit the shot He had two free throws
9:04
at the end of the fourth quarter and he kind of
9:06
forced the turnover and he went left Yeah,
9:08
he was dribbling with his left hand. What happened?
9:10
I'm gonna see when What
9:13
happened to Jason Tatum in the fourth quarter? He
9:16
scored ten points in overtime, which is the most
9:18
I said was order. I Mean
9:20
he missed open shop Shooters are gonna miss shots.
9:23
Yeah, he he you know, did get the a
9:26
Mm-hmm, you know Brown had a bad beginning in the
9:28
fourth quarter or like in that middle period where the
9:30
Pacers kind of took the lead That was he had
9:32
a bad tone turnover bad couple shots. I think a
9:34
couple turnovers Jason Tatum missed a couple shots They
9:37
brought it back. This is the ultimate ultimate game
9:40
for for the Celtics too Because they got they
9:42
got choked to an inch of their life and
9:44
then they were able to breathe through it maintain
9:47
their composure Azula's doing this and he's
9:49
probably loving every second of it on the sidelines. Yeah, it
9:51
was a loss It felt like a loss like the players
9:53
felt like they lost it. They had that feeling of like,
9:55
oh fuck I can't believe we lost it at home. We
9:57
had the lead we choked blah blah blah blah blah I've
10:00
been trying not to do that. Buh buh
10:02
buh buh buh buh. Nobody you're right, a wake up call and a
10:04
win is a pretty good wake up. Yeah. The
10:07
only thing you could say positively for the Pacers is
10:09
that this same thing happened to them in the next
10:11
series. That game won, they
10:14
got screwed, and that was a very
10:16
winnable game, and they still won
10:18
that series. Well we were saying if the Pacers
10:20
had won this game, Boston loses every game too
10:22
across all sports, and then the
10:24
Pacers haven't lost at home since what, March
10:26
18th? March 18th. So what, Cavalier?
10:29
You were staring down the barrel of a sweep. If
10:32
you didn't win tonight, now we're on the other
10:34
side of the barrel. Yeah, now you're on the
10:36
other side of the barrel. Now who's got the
10:38
gun? Our good friend John Fidleberg I thought had
10:40
the best tweet about Jason Tatum. I love fights
10:42
because whenever the Bruins get pounced from the playoffs
10:44
he just switches to Celtics. He said, after watching
10:46
one Tatum game, I'd like to loudly agree with
10:48
people who think he's the best player in the
10:50
league. I also agree with people who think he's a
10:53
bum. Now
10:55
you got to put it perfectly. Yeah, that's Carl Anthony Jones
10:57
today. Jason's name is just how you look at him. Hank,
11:00
here's the thing. Jason Tatum's really good, but he's
11:02
also a star player that, like, that's what happens
11:04
to star. He had 10 points in
11:06
overtime. I understand the fourth quarter. Star players get criticized.
11:09
If Luca puts a dud tomorrow night, we're going
11:11
to talk about Luca putting up a dud tomorrow
11:13
night. I
11:16
mean that, that... I just said Jason Tatum's
11:18
a fucking incredible player. But
11:20
it's always the butt. It's always Jason Tatum's butt. You know what,
11:22
you know why? Alright, I'm... No, no, I'm...
11:26
I'm running this through the Hank translator, right now. Hank
11:28
is getting so defensive about this because
11:31
Jason Tatum has never won
11:33
anything. That's why he's defensive of
11:35
it. Nothing but success. But if he had... If
11:37
Jason Tatum was like an NBA Finals MVP and you
11:39
were questioning what he did in the fourth quarter, Hank
11:41
would be like, yeah, he's got to show up there.
11:44
But because he's Hank's guy and hasn't won anything
11:46
yet, Hank has to be like, you shut your
11:48
mouth. He's my special baby.
11:50
I think Jason Tatum is really fucking
11:52
good. If you have a
11:54
really fucking good player, I just want him
11:56
to take over games. And like ice the
11:58
game out overtime. I was great fourth
12:01
quarter with the reason why the Pacers were even
12:03
in that spot was like there was
12:05
multiple times He's like tatum do it go
12:07
take it He did it that that
12:09
that that layup he hit where Tijana McConnell was
12:11
basically trying to tackle him Yeah, it's all strength.
12:14
There you go. Was that I feel like you just
12:16
only listen to the bad things I say about
12:18
it It's not you. It's just everyone. Yeah, but
12:20
you also remember that turnover. I'm not gonna say
12:22
I can't say bad There's bad pass off pick.
12:24
I can't even exist that a good Jason tatum
12:26
thought you had to communicate better than I
12:29
can't even exist Hey Just just when we talk
12:31
about Jason's in picture in your brain that he's
12:33
already won in NBA finals and then
12:35
try to absorb it Through that filter. I think
12:38
that's pretty fair. He had 36 tonight Ten
12:40
points in the in overtime. We
12:42
do in the fourth hit ten minutes. We didn't score
12:44
a point It's fine. They
12:47
won the game who cares That's
12:50
that's my that's what I'm saying if you Before
12:52
the game started Jason tatum 36 points 10 points
12:54
over time Celtics win Discourses are
12:57
gonna be he didn't show up in the fourth quarter.
12:59
Well, how is that Paul? I just asked
13:01
a question about the fourth quarter. I said, what about
13:03
the fourth quarter? We're process guys not results guys That's
13:05
facts and you know, I'm a bottom line guy and
13:07
I'm a stat kick So if you guys hadn't won
13:09
this game, what would you have said? It
13:12
was bad that it was bad. It would okay
13:14
That's fair. You know what? That's fair. That's a completely fair
13:16
thing. I think Jason's evens really good It
13:19
would have been bad for again Both
13:21
of them played bad in the fourth quarter But
13:23
then Jalen Brown saved the game and Jason Tatum
13:25
carried them in overtime. That's all you can ask
13:27
from your two best players Alright,
13:30
so game two. What do you think prediction? Blowout
13:33
wake up call which way so thick
13:35
Oh wait wake up call in
13:37
a blowout. No, they've been woken up Yeah,
13:40
this was there already was the perfect ending for
13:42
you. It was a wake-up call win. Mm-hmm Those
13:45
are very hard to come by I know. Yeah,
13:47
really really hard to come by Yeah, that
13:50
is truly when you have to be a bottom line
13:52
guy a results guy is after a game like this
13:54
How many fucking wake-up calls this genius? Wake
13:57
up call every fucking series Fuck
14:00
you ever played anybody How
14:05
many times you're gonna get how many fucking times
14:07
you're gonna get woken up by team that fucking
14:09
sucks I'm
14:13
done with it Jason Tatum played like dick in
14:15
the fourth quarter. He was horrible
14:17
and then they were finally like yeah We're
14:19
playing the fucking papers the fucking
14:22
pacer It's like we spent
14:24
the first ten minutes the show just like either
14:26
car for taking up a carbonated bottle of Max
14:28
and then just open He's also sitting in a
14:31
sitting in memes a seat so we can't
14:33
see him. I had no idea He's just
14:35
yeah, you're right. We just we just need
14:37
what we just did is we just Fucking
14:40
Mac. That's what you did. Dad. He's dead It
14:43
was a slow-mo video putting a Mentos in
14:45
a Pepsi can and just being like alright
14:47
here we go No,
14:54
I mean it's like again when you make it this far
14:56
in the playoffs you play more games So you have more
14:58
opportunities for wake-up calls. That's just simple. That's a good point
15:00
and Hank knows something about a wake-up call Yeah,
15:03
yeah, sometimes you need several. Yeah. I mean, it's
15:05
the first time you've played a team who actually
15:07
has your best player Or
15:09
yeah, what happened? We won. I got
15:12
a brother. I guess the net well actually no,
15:14
I'm all fucked up I'm gonna wait come back
15:16
to it. Yeah, I'm all fuck Jared Allen was
15:18
is the well done Really Simon Mitchell miss games.
15:20
Yeah, he did miss games Yeah,
15:22
he did miss games. Yeah, you're back on track
15:25
Alright, should we that that game
15:27
seven Oilers Canucks? I want to
15:29
say shout out Vancouver did not riot did
15:32
not riot It felt like Vancouver was coming
15:34
back though It felt like they were they were gonna tie
15:36
it up in the third period after they
15:38
got the second goal Yeah, it felt like it was
15:40
gonna happen that that barn was gonna explode and it
15:43
was the most dominating performance for
15:45
the first 50 minutes
15:47
of that game Like the the shots were out
15:50
of control the Oilers every single time the Canucks
15:52
got the puck in the Oilers zone It's like
15:54
they didn't get a good shot or they didn't get a
15:56
shot period and and
15:59
like even the first period like
16:01
I know is zero zero after one but
16:03
McDavid played five minutes and they
16:05
killed a four-minute penalty and they were just like
16:07
you could just see you're like those are so
16:09
much better but I agree like that that
16:12
last four minutes you're like oh shit is this
16:14
about to happen yeah it felt like it might
16:16
but congratulations to Edmonton Canada marches on I'm just
16:18
glad that we have a Canadian team that's this
16:20
far I want to see can well we would
16:23
have no matter what I know but
16:25
I'm glad that it's happening yeah because like when
16:27
you watch this entire series whether the games being
16:29
played in Edmonton or in Vancouver the
16:31
Canadian the fans seem just like way more
16:34
amped up than most American fan bases 50-50
16:36
raffle they walk in the door it's like
16:38
600,000 it's incredible not it's
16:40
they go absolutely ape shit for
16:42
hockey and I like watching it so I'm glad I
16:45
hope they get to read to the finals and
16:47
I I kind of just
16:49
for our own sake I hope that Edmonton loses
16:51
the finals just for the
16:53
storyline story the storyline just
16:56
for the story oh I
16:58
love you they play if they play the Rangers I don't yeah
17:00
if they play the Rangers I'm gonna be yeah probably
17:03
root for although if the Rangers win I will
17:05
count that is like a Tom Wilson Stanley Cup
17:07
yeah yeah ooh Edmonton Florida would
17:09
be fun for people writing stories
17:11
about how far they have to travel yeah I
17:13
mean the Dallas for the same conference that's a
17:15
sneaky long trip yeah it is yeah worth it
17:17
out nothing I like more
17:19
than talking about playing travel yeah yeah
17:21

just love looking at cool Oh, I love
19:04
it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Uh,
19:06
okay, Hank hot seat cool throne. My hot
19:08
seat is Antonio Brown Oh, oh, what happened?
19:10
I went bankrupt. Oh, no, player bankruptcy. So
19:13
what's his career earnings? Let's look that up
19:15
real quick a lot Antonio Brown. It's
19:17
um I'm gonna guess 78
19:20
million 89
19:24
million. Okay. Let's see here. I'm
19:26
gonna guess 94
19:29
million because he wasn't obviously like highly
19:31
drafted. So he probably had someone
19:33
said 79 Yeah,
19:36
I said 89 78
19:38
what is it? 80.7. Oh, yeah
19:41
track. Oh Nice
19:43
Hank, so he's that means he doesn't he
19:46
spent 80 million dollars. Well half for taxes
19:48
true Well, he played in Florida another 10
19:50
people only for a little for a little
19:52
bit very little and he lived with
19:54
Tom Brady So he probably saved some money there and
19:56
percent on agent fee. Yeah, so now we're down to
19:58
he's basically he was broke the second he got
20:00
pretty much played stop for a playful play for a
20:02
break. I forgot it was on the Raiders. Yeah, he
20:04
played. Yeah, I remember that. Yeah, the hard knocks hot
20:07
air balloon. Yeah. So I hope
20:09
that the bankruptcy court proceedings are like the
20:11
last episode of Seinfeld where they just bring
20:13
out every single person that he has not
20:15
paid money to over the years,
20:17
like whether it's any home contractor, anybody he's
20:20
had do like video work for him. It's
20:22
like every six months for a while people were just saying, yeah,
20:24
I worked for Antonio Brown. I was
20:26
a chef and he never paid me and then he also
20:28
sexually assaulted me. Yeah, I hope they just bring them out
20:31
one by one in this hearing and
20:33
have them testify for him. I also hope
20:35
that CT ESPN is not part of this
20:37
bankruptcy. No, that's why he started CT ESPN.
20:39
Okay. So that those assets could not
20:41
be touched by a personal bankruptcy. Got it. Yeah.
20:44
So smart, savvy business move. Yeah. The
20:46
part. Hey, getting thoughts on it? No,
20:49
it's I feel bad. Yeah. I
20:52
mean, he definitely has to do. Do you remember when
20:54
he was just like jacking off in a pool? Like
20:56
a year ago? That was weird. That was
20:58
really strange. He's successfully done
21:00
so much weird shit in the last three
21:03
years. Ante's perfect. That you completely forget about
21:05
the next one that he does. Ante's perfect,
21:07
that one hit. He
21:09
really, that was unaware
21:11
you can point to him and be like, that
21:13
was kind of where things changed. All
21:15
right, who's your cool throne? My cool throne is
21:18
Chet Hanks and White Boys. Shit, that was mine
21:20
too. White Boys on the cool throne?
21:23
White Boys back up? White Boys. What
21:25
do you say? Well, first, his dad
21:28
texts him asking about the Drake situation.
21:30
Wait, who's his dad? Tom Hanks. Got
21:32
it. Okay. What's
21:35
he been in? Catch me if you can. That's
21:37
the one you go with with Tom Hanks? I
21:40
feel like it's a Saving Private Ryan or Forrest Gump.
21:42
Forrest Gump is the one, one. Big,
21:44
right? You've got mail. Big is
21:46
great. But what do you think
21:48
the number one, if you say Tom Hanks, Tom
21:51
the movie and Tom Hanks. Tom Hanks had nothing
21:53
but success in the movie Philadelphia. Yeah.
21:56
What would you say the number one Tom Hanks if
21:59
you pulled 100? people on the street would be
22:01
Forrest Gump. halfway would sneaky be
22:03
high. I think I has he done any voices
22:05
in a kids movie? Yeah, so yeah, what is
22:07
or yeah, would it? Yeah, so it'd be Toy
22:09
Story or Forrest Gump. I think you've got mail.
22:13
Sleepless in Seattle. Same program
22:15
with big two. Yeah, people will
22:17
catch me if you can go. Great
22:19
movie, but he also is not the main character.
22:24
Yeah, no. Go
22:26
to go to. I
22:28
think you could do that. Oh
22:30
yeah, in the 60s. What
22:32
about now? Probably not. It
22:35
was so innovation. Yeah, and it's so easy to do crimes
22:37
in the 60s. Oh, dude, like
22:40
100 years ago, could you move across, move
22:42
to the next town? You could murder anyone. You just
22:44
fucking kill someone and just be like, I'm out. You
22:46
just get on a horse and go like 20 miles
22:48
and no one knows you. Yeah, wasn't the first guy
22:50
to get COVID? Who? Oh, he was
22:52
one of them. Yeah, he might have been under. You
22:55
remember when he was locked in that Australian prison? And
22:57
he got to pretend that he was hosting SNL on
22:59
the green screen. I remember that first night. They
23:02
said he had it, and everyone thought like, oh
23:04
my god. Yeah, it was interesting. It
23:07
was like a triple whammy of the NBA getting
23:09
canceled, Rudy Gobert, and then Tom Hanks locked
23:12
in jail in Australia. Yeah, in
23:14
that Georgetown St. John's game. The
23:16
half time. I was 8-0-1 that week. I
23:20
was on fire. He texted
23:22
his son Chet, and he said, big main.
23:26
It seems fake. You
23:29
think so? You think he had some big main? I guess he
23:31
had to talk. Like, he was trying to relate with his son.
23:34
He goes, big main. Can you explain the Drake
23:36
Kendrick Lamar feud to me? And
23:39
then Chet Hanks sent him like a
23:41
two-paragraph long text explaining it, and he
23:43
said, holy cow, exclamation point. These
23:45
are fighting words. People take inside. Who's winning?
23:50
So that was funny. OK. Tom
23:52
Hanks is like, who's winning, son? Yeah. Is
23:55
there a score tracker I can keep up with? But
23:58
then Chet Hanks came back the next day. Instagram
24:00
said I've consulted with the heavens felt westward
24:02
breeze walked outside of a strip club and
24:04
saw my shadow This will
24:07
be a white boy summer. Hell. Yeah, I have
24:09
spoken. That's all right. Let's go What are you
24:11
doing? This will be a hashtag WBS. Oh, what
24:13
about city boys? Nothing about
24:15
city boys. Are they up? There
24:18
now, wait white city boys Okay,
24:20
city boys up white boys up. Did you
24:22
just learn that I did like Eight
24:26
hours ago You remember what
24:28
he dry you correctly? Yeah, like two years ago
24:30
You really put a white boy summer was two
24:32
years ago, but yeah, but check it back. So
24:35
I need to who made it city boys No,
24:37
but that was any boys did So
24:40
bring it back city boy. I think it's like
24:42
I just learned what it is. Bring it back
24:44
Please some some white boys or city boys, but
24:46
not all city boys are white boys got it
24:50
And all white boys are gonna have a good summer
24:52
Yeah, remember that shirt that we leave we don't have
24:54
to the most racist font ever on the back of
24:56
it Yeah, it was like the calligraphy. Yeah, that was
24:58
a great shirt that he did. Yeah White
25:00
boy, do you remember that shirt though? I do. Oh, yeah, I
25:03
do. No, he had a whole line It was such a funny
25:05
shirt. Yeah. Yeah, he had a whole line He did his workout
25:07
where he would just do burpees and then for some reason just
25:09
like hit his like dick muscles Yeah, where
25:11
he hit like the V muscle every
25:14
time He's
25:16
he tried to see I think Because
25:22
Nick and KB thing I didn't know Nick
25:25
and KB did something with him and then they got his
25:27
number and then we called him on the yak I think
25:29
Tommy smokes Tried like said something
25:31
to him and he's like I didn't know I was live.
25:33
I'm gonna sue you guys Sounds
25:36
like you got a trick, right? Yeah, I mean
25:38
it was Tommy's fault. So he Tommy
25:40
wants to get sued He can get sued. Has he
25:42
been anything recently? Your
25:44
honor and yeah, you used good in your
25:46
honor. Yeah, chat. Yeah, you're like a crackhead.
25:49
Yeah, did a really good job He was very good
25:51
white boys up city boys
25:54
sit White boys summer
25:56
city boys up got it
25:58
white white boys up Does
26:01
that play? I don't know. White
26:05
Boy Summer's better, yeah, I agree. White Boy's up
26:07
is, yeah, okay, good call. White Boy Summer? Good
26:09
call, yeah, I guess. You
26:11
just let us know. Okay, we
26:13
should ask Chet. Yeah. I'll
26:16
have Mon. Yeah, we'll have
26:18
Mon. Great week. Sure,
26:22
yeah. Alright, BFT. My
26:24
hot seat is the guy who had Bryce Harper
26:26
ask a girl to prom for him. Did
26:29
you see that? Yes. So Bryce
26:31
Harper goes with a guy in Philly, right?
26:33
Philly kid goes to a
26:35
girl's door, they knock on the door, and
26:38
Bryce Harper helps this kid ask the girl
26:40
to prom for him. The girl
26:42
is just thrilled that Bryce Harper's on her
26:44
doorstep. She says yes somewhere in
26:46
there, and then after she says yes, she
26:49
goes and immediately gives a big hug to
26:51
Bryce Harper right afterwards. And
26:53
it was interesting because I
26:55
guess- It was up. I guess mission
26:57
accomplished, right? Yeah. You got
26:59
Bryce Harper in there, but now did you say yes just
27:01
because she wanted to give Bryce Harper a hug? Yeah,
27:04
I mean, you can't bring Bryce
27:06
Harper to your crush's house. Right.
27:09
Like, please go on a date with me. Please
27:12
have Bryce Harper, objectively
27:14
very good looking guy, really
27:16
good at baseball, even though the Phillies have
27:18
been playing the Savannah bananas every night. And
27:23
then just be like, yeah, but it's me, you're going to
27:25
prom with me, not Bryce Harper. Yeah, you don't want to
27:27
stand next to somebody way more attractive than you when asking
27:29
such an important question. Right.
27:32
Right. I don't know, but I guess it works, so
27:35
good job. Yeah. Max, what do
27:37
you think about this? Weird? No,
27:40
all time good guy Bryce Harper. Philly
27:43
just appreciates Bryce Harper, and obviously
27:45
she was thankful for Bryce Harper to
27:47
come and be part of her prom-promposal.
27:50
So she was saying, thank you, Bryce Harper. This
27:53
is something I'll remember for the rest of my life, and
27:55
now I'm going to go spend the rest of my
27:57
time with this lovely man who got Bryce Harper to come
27:59
and be part of my doorstep. Wishing it was Bryce Harper.
28:01
That's not true. Wishing he was Bryce Harper. That's not
28:03
true. Bryce Harper is just a
28:05
very good guy and Philly respects good guys. Okay.
28:09
Have you ever had- And the Phillies
28:11
are playing really good baseball. Who
28:14
do they got next week? The Trenton Thunder? They're
28:16
playing the world champs, the reigning world
28:19
champs right now. Oh, let me see.
28:21
Pretty good. Alright. The reigning world
28:23
champs. Well, yeah, now they're under
28:25
500 because they lost the Fills. All these
28:27
teams lose the Fills and they go under
28:29
500. Yeah, yeah. Baseball, basically baseball has a
28:31
Philadelphia problem. All the teams are bad because
28:33
the Phillies keep beating all the time. Correct.
28:35
I don't, I think the Phillies are very
28:37
good. I just, like, Max has not been
28:39
able to say, like, good
28:41
win Fills without also saying, what
28:44
are the losers going to say? Well, that's,
28:46
I mean, well that every time anyone posts
28:48
anything about the Fills is if they haven't
28:51
played anyone's, it is crazy to have- Isn't
28:53
it annoying when people do that, Max? You
28:55
can only fucking play the teams in front
28:57
of you. Oh, fuck. Hank. Hank, he
29:00
got you when he said, Jason Tatum played like,
29:02
but now you're back. And he
29:05
also didn't. I said in the fourth quarter. He said in
29:07
the fourth quarter. And
29:09
he was also 25. Oh, so they have the Rangers, the Rockies. That will be
29:15
good. They haven't played a
29:17
team over 500 since opening weekend. How is
29:19
that possible? I
29:22
don't know. They still don't until
29:24
June. When a team loses to the Phillies,
29:26
they get beaten so badly. They get demoralized
29:28
and then they lose all their confidence and
29:30
they can't go on and win any more
29:32
games. 500 in the NL right now. Yeah,
29:35
but still- It's not really their fault. They're
29:37
playing the Rockies, the Giants and the Cardinals
29:40
coming up. Yeah. Yeah.
29:43
I don't know what you want me to say. Okay. But all
29:45
time good guy. All time good guy. Love
29:47
Bryce Harper. Bryce Harper is a great guy. Great guy.
29:49
I still kind of a weird move to have somebody
29:51
else come in. Why don't you come
29:54
on the show? It's not a weird move.
29:56
It's more of like a dumb move. Yeah.
29:58
Yeah. Short-sighted move. Like have- Bryce
30:00
Harper com and visit at be like hey
30:02
we've got a promise me if we go
30:04
to prom together Ah Bryce Harper com your
30:06
house. Yeah. That's good or anglers.
30:08
I did care or just would have Bryce record
30:11
a video. Yeah, okay will you go to prom
30:13
with the sky? Yeah yeah I did. Dinger for
30:15
you if you do. I like. My
30:18
cool thrown. Is Marvin Harrison
30:20
Junior. Because he is engaged
30:22
in a a big legal dispute right now,
30:25
I don't have seen the ongoing dispute with
30:27
them, but I saw had us. You can't
30:29
If you're caught on fan or anybody else
30:31
you, you can't buy a Marvin Harrison Junior
30:33
jersey. It. And the reason for this
30:35
is because he never signed with the Nfl yet.
30:38
And. The reason for that is. Back.
30:40
In college he was approached. A lot
30:42
of players get approached by fanatics. When
30:45
they're in college and they are as a
30:47
sign the rights over for like autograph sessions
30:49
merged things are deputies. College players can do
30:51
that now. Marvin Harrison Jr.
30:53
said no I'm not going sonos right now because
30:55
I think on my name is gonna be so
30:58
big when I'm a rookie. That. It
31:00
can be worth more than you're going on
31:02
for me as like a college sophomore, right?
31:04
which is probably accurate. Probably smart so he
31:06
didn't sign that then and then. They.
31:09
Are some side the Nfl p a thing
31:11
so they could now so more Bismarck He
31:13
said no I wanted to get the sound
31:15
do more negotiating on it and now fanatics
31:18
is suing Marvin Harrison Jr. Said.
31:20
They can start selling his jerseys. So.
31:22
They claim that Margaret Margaret Marvin Harrison
31:24
Junior signed. In. Our term seat
31:27
which is just basically peace paper saying like
31:29
I intend to do this Not a legally
31:31
binding contract. They. Claimed that
31:33
he signed that before the draft and that they should
31:35
be allowed to sell it. But. The bottom line
31:38
is you're not going to be able to buy
31:40
Marvin Harrison Jersey Marvin Harrison do New Jersey's in
31:42
stores for a very long time and is probably
31:44
not can be in video games either until and
31:46
it's is also a but once he does he's
31:49
probably I get paid shit load of money for
31:51
as Harper have to Very smart by him and
31:53
again I'm taking Marvin Harrison genocide in this one
31:55
hundred percent because his dad is Marva Jumps and
31:57
senior yes and I would not want to be.
32:00
engaged in any sort of dispute with that
32:02
family. Yeah. They're a great family. Yes. So,
32:04
but it does seem like he's figured out,
32:06
oh yeah, maybe we shouldn't sign these contracts
32:08
when we're college sophomores if we are planning,
32:11
if we're expecting to get drafted highly in
32:13
the NFL, signing like a five-year deal when
32:15
you're a college sophomore. Not the smartest thing
32:17
in the world. Was he at the rookie
32:20
thing where everyone was
32:22
in their jerseys running around? It
32:24
was like the first round picks.
32:26
Let me see. Marvin Harrison Jr. Probably not,
32:29
based off of him. Yeah, this. I'd
32:31
like to go in the trust tree for a second. Can
32:35
I say something with full
32:37
trust and can't be clipped? There's
32:42
something I'm going to have to get over, but it's
32:45
just years and years and years of this. The
32:50
minute Caleb Williams put in on the Bears uniform and they
32:52
had him like running around as a quarterback, he lost all
32:54
the swag. Yeah.
32:56
And that's the Bears uniform. You have to
32:58
overcome the entire fire. You've got to figure
33:00
out how to overcome the Bears quarterback uniform.
33:02
The entire vibe around it. Right. People were
33:04
tweeting about it like, dude, this guy's got
33:06
no swag anymore. I was like, shit, I
33:08
kind of agree. I think
33:10
he needs to do a visor, maybe some
33:12
kind of cool arm sleeve. I don't know
33:14
what it is, but it scared me because
33:16
it was like, again, it's not Caleb Williams.
33:19
It's the Bears uniform that
33:22
scared me. Yeah, there's only so many things you can
33:24
do. Well, just like I can't
33:26
envision someone like dropping back in a
33:29
Bears uniform and like throwing it down the field.
33:31
What about like pink shoes? That
33:33
would be cool. Pink shoes, maybe. Yeah. That's a
33:35
good idea. Marvin Harrison Jr. was invited to, did not
33:37
attend the rookie premiere. Hank,
33:39
speaking of which, did you see
33:42
that photo? Any thoughts on
33:44
your guy trying to steal a couple inches?
33:47
No, in respect, you got to take every inch in
33:49
the league. That's
33:52
true. It's game inches. Al Pacino taught us
33:55
that. Tippy toe shame. Well, the greatest NFL
33:57
coaches of all time. It happens. But
33:59
yeah. So the rookie premiere is
34:02
weird. They just stand out on a field right
34:04
and then they're just like look they're wearing their
34:06
you new uniforms Yeah, that's it. That's all it
34:08
is. Yeah, they like run around a
34:10
little bit. Yeah, the NFL monetize anything
34:12
Yeah, yeah, and everyone just yeah, and
34:14
then everyone just like and then dope climbing sweet
34:16
something Oh, did you guys see the fake news
34:18
going around about Joe burrow? There's fake
34:20
news about Joe burrow Yeah, the hair the hair. Yeah,
34:22
the hair went like mega viral and it was just
34:24
it was made up Why did anyone think that was
34:27
real? I never for a second thought I was right
34:29
Spotted a UFC fight like two weeks ago and he
34:31
had put it just still like yeah, I was the
34:33
fakest Yeah longer hair,
34:35
but it's that they literally just took Anakin
34:37
Skywalker. Yeah, right Thought
34:40
that was real. I don't he looked like it
34:42
like an early 90s sitcom actor. Yeah, like a
34:44
hair metal band guy Yeah, but then there was
34:46
also the cliff. He had a mullet. That would
34:48
be fucking sick I would be sick. There was
34:50
also the clip of my homes showing up to
34:52
the first day and people saying he looked fat
34:55
Mm-hmm. I don't think he looked fat. You look powerful. I
34:58
He also I feel like my homes
35:00
you can't call Patrick Mahomes fat When
35:03
you have three Super Bowl rings, whatever he's
35:05
doing is working. So just let him do
35:08
it Like that's not a guy
35:10
you can't you say oh a guy
35:12
looks fat showing up to camp if
35:14
they're like a second year Player that had
35:16
a disappointing first year. He needs to be
35:18
sitting next to any read for all these
35:20
things What are we talking about Patrick Holmes
35:22
fat and he's not fat and he's gonna play his way in a
35:24
shape That's what that's what that's what
35:26
training camps all about. Yeah, like Eddie Lacey when
35:28
he showed up that time He was fat. He
35:30
was big. Yeah, he was fat China food. That
35:32
was fat Did you not that
35:35
you have the whole summer to run around and lose
35:37
a couple pounds agreed and he also wasn't fat He
35:39
just he looked at a tight shirt. He
35:41
has a tight shirt. He's sure that he needs to
35:43
me and Max's shirts That we
35:45
can you know do this the Instagram shirts.
35:47
Yeah, we're just pulling on our shirts constantly
35:50
I'm getting a lot of those right now max all
35:52
the time and And also the
35:55
the best part about the the shirts you
35:57
buy on Instagram that hide your boobs allegedly
36:00
If you buy one shirt you also buy
36:04
7,000 emails for the next year and You
36:07
can't unsubscribe they figure out a way through
36:09
it and they're for other like fat related
36:11
products They just they just got you. They
36:13
just got you. That's what you're signing up for. All right my
36:16
hot seat is angry
36:19
birds Angry birds you
36:21
guys remember Angry Birds. Yeah, I replayed it like
36:23
six months ago. Yeah Angry Birds So this one
36:25
was crazy because I was it like a game
36:27
that you can finish Yeah,
36:29
there's a bunch of levels What
36:32
happens when you win? You win.
36:34
Yeah, so I
36:36
don't know why this is a top my turn this
36:39
morning when I woke up Very
36:41
weird angry birds account which has
36:43
seven hundred thousand followers Said
36:46
we sincerely apologize for an unfortunate
36:48
incident that occurred on our account
36:50
recently in an inappropriate post was
36:52
Accidentally reposted from the account. This
36:54
is a genuine mistake. We deeply
36:56
regret any harm It may have
36:58
caused huh? Streisand effect I
37:00
need to find out what was said. So here
37:03
was what they retweeted. This is the Angry Birds
37:05
account the game This
37:08
is from jellyquea
37:12
Said I used to jerk off to Angry Birds when I
37:14
was about 13. I loved Angry Birds I
37:16
had every game and bought every toy they had one
37:18
day I was playing Angry Birds when all of a
37:20
sudden the big red bird turned me on I couldn't
37:23
stand it I was going crazy. I decided to pull
37:25
and they retweeted I Did
37:27
not have Angry Birds on the bingo card.
37:29
I see no like I see no problem
37:31
in retweeting that that's that's somebody that loves
37:33
your game Like if
37:36
this podcast made people so horny that they had
37:38
to jack off to it. It's so I would
37:40
retweet all those endorsements Yeah, it's just
37:42
like Why why
37:44
are they even apologizing because then I immediately was like
37:46
what did Angry Birds do? Some
37:48
some kid admitted that he jacked off to Angry Birds
37:50
when he was 13 who cares? But
37:54
yeah, Angry Birds remember Angry Birds. It's a
37:56
fun game It's way they're
37:58
gonna top golf though. Remember we beat that Right
38:00
there was a movie. Oh,
38:02
that's right. Yeah, they did make a movie out of it. It's a
38:04
good jig I'd say it that was
38:06
one of those movies that came out like three years
38:08
after the game was popular What's your favorite bird from
38:11
the game? I don't I was
38:13
a tiny wings guy I still play tiny one.
38:15
It's a good one tiny wings is elite. I
38:18
think I like the red one I read one of
38:20
the stander. I honestly don't remember the different birds. You
38:22
remember yellow ones the boomerang The
38:25
big black bomb one that did a lot of
38:27
damage. Yeah on the level.
38:29
Yeah, remember flappy bird Yeah flat
38:31
the guy the guy got so stressed out that
38:34
he quit that he took it down Yeah,
38:36
cuz everyone was getting mad at him. I
38:38
don't remember that Oh, yeah, the game when there's like
38:40
a flappy bird 2.0. That was a big yeah Temple
38:43
run he I'm getting like that It was like
38:45
a really really hard game and he was getting
38:47
death threats and it was like the most popular
38:50
thing of all time And he
38:52
did and he just Deleted deleted the app
38:54
because he was too stressed out. Do you guys ever
38:56
play the running and T rex thing on Google? Like
38:59
when you don't have internet connection, you know how
39:01
like a T rex shows on like oh, we
39:03
don't have internet connection Did you know that that
39:05
you can play all right? Yeah, if you hit
39:07
spacebar you like just run through all these levels
39:10
and you jump Oh, that's awesome. It's actually great
39:12
game. I play tiny wings. I like
39:14
every flight still really I never
39:16
got into those games I was the old-school only one.
39:18
I mean snake was the greatest game ever created Brick
39:21
breaker probably I don't know
39:24
a year of my career My
39:26
former career was brick breaker just trying to beat it
39:28
and then I found out that when you beat it
39:30
You just go back to level one. It just goes
39:32
faster That was a bummer and then
39:35
snood snood rocked on the
39:37
computer Was nude it was like
39:39
nude was good I remember that when I was like
39:41
very blue guys that you had very young you had
39:43
to shoot When he
39:45
was very young, I'll show how young I
39:49
Was probably years old game. I'm old. All right.
39:51
We always say these guys don't know about Microsoft
39:53
pinball, you know about the one that came Oh,
39:55
yeah Snood
39:58
rocks. Yeah, but yeah The one that
40:00
came on like every PC. Yep. I would
40:03
play that when the internet would would
40:05
go out that and play and try and
40:07
like Every I don't know like
40:09
two months you get so bored. You'd be like
40:11
maybe solitaire is fun No, no, never fall tears
40:13
great and my twin the cards explode No, what
40:15
about the others not fun the other Microsoft one
40:18
will you find flick around? Yeah, I don't know
40:20
how to play that But I would just like
40:22
oh the one that were there a bomb like
40:24
you had that you had to figure out I
40:26
didn't know Just I would
40:28
do it. Oh my god This just fucking brought back
40:30
memory Did you guys ever play the game where the
40:33
guy you were the guy skiing down the hill and
40:35
then yeah? Yeah, we'll
40:37
jump or something. No, no, this
40:39
was like a addicting games or yeah No,
40:44
it was like you You
40:50
basically do like a you try not to
40:52
crash but no matter what Eventually
40:54
like the What
40:56
are you saying bomb in bob it
40:59
all indomitable? Abominable I'm gonna sue snowman
41:01
snowman would come out and just grab
41:03
you and that'll be it. What
41:05
was that game called? Might
41:08
be a Mount Rushmore back. I fucked on non
41:11
console game E3, what is that? I
41:13
don't know I'm looking at a I
41:17
Did you guys ever might be ski free play?
41:19
I was ski free and did you do it?
41:21
Yes? Yeah, there's the monster
41:23
that would come out. He would grab you
41:25
ski free was awesome. Oh Man,
41:28
I might have to play this game. Yeah,
41:30
this might be a Mount Rushmore Did you
41:32
get on like non your brain guys console
41:34
games like no Madden? No like yeah Java
41:36
cafe Addicting games comm did you play coop?
41:38
Oh? That game suck the
41:40
runner. Yeah, you had to get all
41:42
his body part If you can make
41:45
it three meters with that runner your
41:47
keyboard with backyard baseball work No
41:49
backyard baseball. I feel like that's too much. Yeah, who
41:51
similar to a console Yeah, and I was like a
41:54
game you'd buy in like a store. I think yeah,
41:57
no or like you had to buy
41:59
I No, I think you
42:01
did have to buy it. I think you had to buy
42:03
it. You had to buy CD-ROM. You had to get a
42:05
CD for it. These games you didn't have to get a
42:07
CD for. Max, Max, Dirtbike is the other... Max Dirtbike was
42:09
a good one. Max Dirtbike was great. Did
42:11
you... we had one that all of them
42:13
were blocked on our
42:16
school computers except for like... Slap the monkey. Like
42:18
it was like math games or something. Oh the
42:20
rocket? Cool math for kids. Cool math for kids.
42:23
And we would do lemonade stand. I remember. Yeah.
42:25
Yeah. Fresh lemonade stand at school.
42:27
Oh, I mean the goat with the TI-83 drug
42:29
wars. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh,
42:31
yeah. So good. Holy shit. That was Grand Theft Auto.
42:34
I sold so many ludes. Mario
42:36
teaches typing. Yeah. Mavis
42:38
Beacon. Mavis Beacon, not courage. M-J. Yeah.
42:42
Carmen, uh, Carmen Sandiego. Yeah.
42:45
Hot. Damn. Hot. Oh, hot
42:47
for sure. Agreed, Hank. Mavis Beacon. Hot? No,
42:50
I think Mavis Beacon was like an old goose. I
42:53
think she was like an elderly goose. So it could be
42:55
hot. Uh, how do
42:57
we get here? Oh, Angry Birds. See, yeah. See, yeah.
43:00
Angry Birds had to apologize. Somebody
43:02
jacked off to them when they were 13. My
43:05
cool throne is the Los
43:07
Angeles Chargers because
43:09
Jim Harbaugh is
43:11
starting the process of changing the culture. Our
43:13
friend Sam Schwartzstein reminded us, uh, or
43:16
told us the story when we had him on about
43:19
how when Harbaugh got to Stanford, he said, I
43:21
am going to, uh, have
43:23
to eliminate all traditions and things you
43:25
guys do because you're such losers. I
43:28
have to figure out what makes you losers. Uh,
43:31
the Chargers had no music at OTAs. Mm.
43:34
So Harbaugh took away music. That is maybe
43:37
the first thing he saw and was like, is
43:39
this why they're losers? We will find out. You have
43:41
to earn your music. Yeah. I
43:43
like that. I like that. No music. Whatever
43:45
was happening before was not working, so everything's going to
43:47
be different. It's a sound strategy. You
43:50
guys are losers. Let's figure out why. Mm-hmm. So
43:53
yeah, the Chargers, they're going to be good. Harbaugh
43:57
will be in an AFC championship game.
44:00
game over under 400 years
44:03
under I agree I
44:05
think it's like I'd said it for five things
44:08
we do it we think it's a three I think we'll do it in
44:10
the third or fourth year I think it's three yeah yeah
44:13
AFC championship game horrible be
44:16
there we'll be there all right Jake finish
44:18
off my hot seats the chain game our
44:21
friends on the sidelines might be losing their
44:23
jobs this football season no because
44:25
tonight the NFL announced it'll run
44:27
a trial throughout the preseason for
44:29
electronically yeah this is bad it
44:31
approves through the preseason is really
44:33
bad I go see so this
44:35
is bad and here's why every
44:38
time you watch a game you're like I can't believe
44:40
we're using sticks in a chain that's what makes it's
44:42
a billion-dollar business to figure out where the ball is
44:44
if it's a first down or not I
44:47
don't give a fuck the chain and the
44:49
stick is awesome it gives you
44:51
it's like another play it's a free play that you get
44:54
so if you're close if a team's close to get a
44:56
first down and you're like I don't know they bring the
44:58
chain out there and you get a first down the ref
45:00
signals it when they put the thing down you
45:03
feel like you just gained a yard right there you feel
45:05
like that's a huge win also if
45:07
you're rooting for the team that's on defense and you
45:09
get what you think is a stop you get to
45:11
celebrate it because you get to hold your fist
45:13
up and be like yeah we stopped you and
45:16
then the chain comes out no they didn't get
45:18
it the answer that's another of them running out
45:20
it's another stop all right it's one of the
45:22
weird things about football that makes no sense at
45:24
all and if we were starting football from scratch
45:26
right now yeah there's no chance in hell that
45:28
there would be three old
45:30
guys with sticks in a chain that run out
45:32
on the field to measure things it would be
45:34
electronic if we're starting football from ground zero but
45:37
that's what we love about football is the
45:39
weird shit right yeah did
45:41
know this is bad yes we need we
45:44
need like Chinese or
45:46
Russian hackers to hack the
45:48
electronic ones yes we
45:50
need something to happen to malfunction
45:53
We can't lose the chain chain game. Fly
45:55
like an EMP drone over the over the
45:57
electronic system. Make it fuck up. We can't
45:59
have. We cannot. Hopefully the
46:01
Nfl has people and maybe maybe are takes
46:03
bad maybe people don't like it's a very
46:05
be no no no this know I think
46:08
I think I'm right. Pfc Arctic is correct.
46:10
Side is is something that you would never
46:12
see in a modern game that was invented.
46:14
But. It makes it feel so much more
46:16
real because of human beings that are doing
46:18
it and not a fucking Ai system that
46:21
soon because ghz even clowney hit. That's not
46:23
cool if we don't have changing coming out
46:25
doing the thing. Yeah, Yeah.
46:27
That was the guy. what was the
46:29
Earth or or Dns? cardiac met another
46:31
told him not to do that anymore,
46:34
but it still happened. And it happened.
46:36
because the changing. Yeah I yeah, this
46:38
is bad. It is very bad idea.
46:40
I hope they don't change it. I really have
46:42
the Nazis. To. The Us Military
46:44
a preseason insult evasion. I am on
46:47
my boycott Some of the bruises. No
46:50
other last game. Last game.
46:53
They. Don't bring. Me? maybe yeah
46:55
but as football he was there last game
46:57
on that point we're just star for the
46:59
remember that last game always happens when there's
47:01
like real college football blinds. I'm going to
47:04
boycott the second quarter of one of the
47:06
games in week three over. Right
47:09
you? You have our demands. Twenty four hours or
47:11
spawn are full. Of my
47:13
cool thrown is getting hit by cel
47:15
balls. Usually it's a bad thing but
47:17
this Blue Jays and she took one
47:20
hundred and ten mile our foul of
47:22
both that he depicts. yes I have
47:24
a bad take a bias but the
47:26
suicide selling one hundred and ten cards
47:29
of her and is. The damage
47:31
it's crazy to. she took a like a champ. I've
47:34
bad take about the shit injured. Sheer.
47:37
The block I and she the giant America
47:39
shit a huge hematoma those swelling out for
47:41
forehead it was massive she looks like that
47:43
I was or out rose their said was
47:45
that you have see voice you wearing. Removes.
47:48
It was crazy. It was crazy though.
47:50
She's of hers is easily as oh
47:53
my god Yeah, it's crazy. Oh.
47:56
my god well she's sitting She
48:00
looks like JFK. Alright,
48:04
I'm gonna keep my bad teeth. There it is. Okay. He
48:08
has crazy. Off the phone in your car. Is there a video
48:10
of the foul ball? I
48:12
thought it was kind of lame to beg for a
48:14
ball after. I mean, look at that.
48:16
I did. I just, I, yeah, but I don't know. I just saw it
48:18
and I was like, okay. That sucks. She
48:20
should have gotten a ball in the moment. Yeah,
48:22
I mean, someone should have probably come over to
48:24
her. Right. Right. But then to like wait a
48:26
day and be like, hey, I didn't get a
48:28
ball. Give me a ball. Yeah, it's just kind
48:30
of, I don't know. It's common courtesy that if,
48:32
if you catch that ball, if it lands next
48:34
to you after bouncing off her head, you
48:37
treat it like it's like an athlete
48:39
throwing a ball to a child in the stands. You
48:41
catch it and you give the ball to that person
48:43
that got hit. Yeah. In the moment. Yeah. She should
48:45
have gotten the ball in the moment, but once the moment
48:47
passes, it's like, hey, guess what? No
48:50
ball. I don't want to earn it. I don't
48:52
like, I don't like her being on a baseball ball. I don't like
48:54
free, I don't like free, like you don't get the free ball. She
48:57
also got a ball in her head.
48:59
Jesus Christ. Also her name's Liz McGuire.
49:01
I, I'll say this, she is way
49:03
tougher than I am because I would
49:05
fucking, I would have had
49:08
a stretcher take me out. No chance I would
49:10
have stayed there. It looks like she has a
49:12
baseball, like the baseball went under her skin and
49:14
is attached to her forehead. How, where did she
49:16
get it? Where is the video? Also, where did,
49:18
yeah, where was she sitting? I
49:20
need to know where she was sitting. Wait, wait, wait, I didn't even
49:22
get the ball. Lady who eventually got the ball that ricocheted off my
49:24
face wouldn't give us the ball. That woman's the
49:27
worst woman ever. Mm-hmm. Okay, that woman is
49:29
the worst woman ever. You have to give
49:31
the ball with
49:33
the section chain and give her the ball. Wait,
49:35
so this- Alright, I'm back on Liz's side. You
49:37
know what, you know what though, here's the thing.
49:39
She shouldn't have tweeted the Blue Jays. She should
49:41
have found that lady's at, and
49:44
ended her life. So that, this
49:46
lady Liz gets hit in the head with
49:48
a 110 mile an hour ball. Correct. And
49:52
she stays at the game For
49:54
the rest of the game. For The rest
49:56
of the game? As Another woman takes the
49:58
ball and leaves as the- Second chance, give
50:00
her the ball so what would you have got
50:03
would you tweet the next day being like hey
50:05
I got hit in the head, Can I have
50:07
a ball? I would I honestly. Think
50:10
I would use try to find the woman who saw
50:12
the ball and try to end her life. Yes it
50:14
doesn't seem like she's begging for the ball. That sweet
50:16
was younger he was like the up the of read
50:19
on a bed ridden sweet. It was like can you
50:21
hook a girl up. Pretty. Good way to do
50:23
it. but yeah I think her. Her. Anger of
50:25
she has any should be reserves that rarely for the
50:27
woman I would have out of the i'm gonna that
50:29
would the ball yeah would have been like i'm gonna
50:32
find you what oh matter what walked around the streets
50:34
of the cudgel until he saw as yeah yeah but
50:36
you're fucking done. Also wears you
50:38
get hit because like or not I know
50:40
was got hit in the head but where's
50:42
the sitting users nets everywhere now how do
50:44
you get hit with a hundred and ten
50:47
mono of like a deep solve all line
50:49
drive outfield like those back sections. And
50:51
all territory. I don't know if those are
50:53
now. I'd like to see a replay of
50:55
the of the boy said my god I
50:58
just I would like to see what would
51:00
you know which would try to make catch
51:02
Mrs Totally fair. Was. Looking.
51:04
I don't know. I. I
51:07
have her side. I just wish he had tried
51:09
to. Strike vengeance with
51:11
this woman. This scumbag who took her
51:13
ball. That's a bullshit day. There
51:17
was a crazy for him that's a crazy
51:19
him until is so big. As
51:22
this era hear. The
51:25
tone of those eight. Hours.
51:28
Of footage is what was that in the middle? down
51:30
the middle. Third that I've
51:32
seen phobos I was in or him it's
51:34
own like that since I have sinned rock
51:37
since Rothmans. Ah the boxer member that one
51:39
knows like it was one and you have
51:41
see couple years your was a thug rose
51:43
yeah. Harbaugh. I
51:46
don't really get a video. Yeah.
51:48
What does she just was Just sell
51:50
a lot of the broadcast don't panda
51:52
foul balls lesser close to being. Set.
51:55
Unfair terrorists territory. Yeah, what if this
51:57
never happened? And the Blue Jays? She's
51:59
like. marketing plant. Oh,
52:02
days are giving her a ball to get all the good
52:04
and that that thing on her forehead is
52:07
all stage makeup. We're on the internet too
52:09
much. Yes. Yeah. Alright, so my final ruling
52:11
is I'm a back Liz McGuire.
52:14
I wish she had not asked for a free ball. I
52:16
wish she instead had tried to end this person's life. That's
52:20
fair, right? Yeah. Um,
52:22
Oh, no, it would have been better if she asked
52:24
the blue jays to find that woman.
52:26
Yeah. Hey, I heard it. I got hit in
52:28
the head. I didn't get the ball. Unfortunately, somebody
52:30
else caught it. Is there any chance that you
52:32
can have her killed? I yeah, that would have
52:34
been good. All right. So yeah, that's the final
52:36
answer is that her tweet, she should
52:39
have said, when she said, Can
52:41
you hook me up? It should have been
52:43
Can you hook me up with all the
52:45
information of this fan so that we can
52:47
enter. Yeah, with her home address, her work
52:49
address, and a semi

automatic. Yeah. Okay, so good

54:27

54:30
major victory, the PGA champion Xander
54:32
Schauffele is joining us. The
54:35
trophy is in his background. It looks great.
54:38
I also wanna say, Xander, your hat tan line
54:40
is starting to look a little bit better too.
54:44
When you won the, we wanna
54:46
talk about everything, but when
54:48
you took off your hat, did you know in the back
54:50
of your head, you're like, oh, this is, I've been playing a
54:53
lot of golf in the sun recently and I'm like a Stewart
54:55
Cink out here. Damn, I
54:57
didn't know I entered that legendary
54:59
status. Yeah,
55:02
I'm made aware. Don't worry, I don't
55:04
get away with much with my team.
55:06
So my caddy told me, I
55:08
took my, or he shaved my head and while he
55:11
was shaving my head, he was like, damn, dude. I
55:13
was like, what? It
55:16
was perfect. I mean, that's always, that always happens
55:18
with a major champion too. It's like something,
55:21
they win and then everyone's like, oh, how can we
55:23
roast his outfit or something just to make ourselves feel
55:25
better? But I wanna go back to 18 and that
55:27
putt. What
55:31
were you thinking before that putt and
55:33
were you like, this is, it
55:35
was obviously not super far, but
55:38
what was going through your head when you're lining up that putt
55:40
and about to hit it? Yeah, I was nervous.
55:42
I mean, it was a bad spot. I
55:45
walked up, I saw left to right. I
55:47
saw like left edge, left center. I kept
55:49
reading it and I saw like right edge,
55:51
right center. And then I was like, this
55:53
is not good. And then I
55:55
was like, I can't call Austin in. It's gonna make me
55:57
like doubt myself more. So I kind of was. I
56:00
just, I was like, screw it. I need
56:02
to commit to this. And so I actually didn't take that much
56:04
time because I was like the more, longer I look at this,
56:06
the more, more stuff I'm going to see. So I was nervous.
56:09
I just ended up hitting it pretty straight. I
56:11
actually, my putting coach texted me. He's like, he
56:13
pulled it. And I was like, thanks man. He's
56:17
right. You know, I watch it. I mean, I've
56:19
watched that putt now like six times and it
56:21
looks, it looks like it's going
56:23
to miss every time. Yeah. So yeah. And
56:25
I've been being a fantastic putt under pressure
56:27
and the shot, I think there's two shots
56:29
before that where you're standing in the bunker,
56:32
your feet are in the bunker and you're
56:34
hitting the shot. It's it's elevated. You
56:36
and your caddy had a little talk before that shot
56:38
and the mics picked up some of it. And
56:40
it sounded like your caddy was saying, yeah, you know what? If
56:43
you end up hitting that into the bunker, that's
56:45
not a bad shot. It's a good place to be. And I
56:47
thought I saw you give him a look like, Hey, don't, don't
56:49
say that. It's okay. If I hit the shot into
56:52
the bunker. But when he's guiding you
56:54
through that shot, like, are you, are you
56:56
angry with him in the, in the moment for being like,
56:58
don't even introduce the concept of a bunker to me? No,
57:00
no. He was, he was talking about that middle bunker. He
57:02
was like, cause I was like, you know, I want to
57:04
aim really far right. And I was like, if I hit
57:06
on the right side of the green, no problem. And then
57:08
he was like, I actually hit it on
57:10
the left side of the green. It's easier. And
57:12
I kind of looked at him. I was like, is it? But
57:14
then I was like, I don't know if I should, you know,
57:16
I don't want to think that hard. I, one of my goals
57:18
was to keep it simple. So, you know, he's my caddy. I
57:20
pay him to give me good advice. And so he gave me
57:22
good advice. So I aim kind of, I aim
57:25
far right. Obviously. Cause I'm hitting like a baseball stance,
57:27
a golf shot, but, uh, I
57:29
pulled it left of that middle bunker. And then luckily
57:32
it didn't go into that left bunker. Cause I would
57:34
have been a hard up and down. Yeah. And as
57:36
you're playing that hole, is the thought in your head,
57:38
like, I don't want to get into a playoff where
57:41
the playoff hole will be a par five and I'm
57:43
going up against Bryson. I
57:46
mean, absolutely. I actually, I
57:48
didn't even know, uh, the playoff is
57:50
actually an aggregate. It's three holes. Oh,
57:53
oh. Yeah. I know. That
57:56
and that's, yeah, that's just way more pressure. So, I mean,
57:58
it's just, it's just a lot. Yeah. the
58:00
momentum would be like, you know, he birdies the
58:02
last hole. I mess up the
58:04
last hole and don't clutch up.
58:06
And then here I am like in a playoff,
58:08
like where I feel like I shouldn't be. So
58:10
I just was in
58:13
like a season moment situation and luckily that
58:15
ball lived in. Yeah. Could you tell, was
58:17
there anything that you could tell that was
58:19
different about this last round? Cause you obviously
58:21
you're an unbelievable golfer and you've been in
58:23
these big moments and come just short a
58:25
bunch, but like that last round,
58:28
I thought the, the bogey on 10
58:30
when it like the leaderboard switches
58:33
and it's like, that's the moment you're like,
58:35
Oh, is this going to fall apart? And then
58:37
you come back and go birdie birdie. Could, was
58:39
there something different about Sunday that you just like
58:41
had a confidence to you or some, some feel
58:43
to it? Like this is mine. Yeah,
58:45
I know for sure. I mean, I, I, I had
58:48
that sentiment, you know, I was,
58:50
I was good all day about committing, I sustained
58:52
my process, you know, all that nonce, all that,
58:55
uh, cliche stuff, but I
58:57
get to 10 and I'm kinda like, I don't know how I
58:59
want to hit this chip and then I ended up hitting the
59:01
chip. I didn't really want to hit. And then I F it
59:04
up and I make bogey and I, you
59:06
know, I get to 11 and I was like, I need to hit a
59:08
good shot, hit a great shot. I get up to the, the, the, the
59:10
putt and I look up at the board and it says I'm in second
59:12
and I was like, damn, you know, I
59:14
was like, how am I in second? Like one hole ago
59:16
I was leading now I'm in second. So everyone,
59:19
I knew everyone was birdie ahead of me and the
59:21
big difference was, was, was just that, I mean, I,
59:23
I had this. Overwhelming feeling
59:25
of sort of not, not, not today, you know,
59:27
like I've been in this spot too many times
59:29
in the last two years where I've
59:32
sort of, you know, curled up
59:34
a little bit and got a little like defensive.
59:36
And so I just
59:39
said, screw it. Like I need to, I need to earn
59:41
this. I need to win this. I need to stay aggressive because
59:43
guys are making birdies and I need to be one of
59:45
those guys. And so that's what I did. Yeah. Did you do
59:47
anything different for breakfast or for your meal, like a quick
59:49
snack during your round that, that maybe
59:51
switched up the vibes for you this time? No,
59:53
just it was, it was a lot of self-talk vibes
59:56
that were different. Yeah. It's
59:58
like confidence building stuff. Like, yeah,
1:00:00
I mean, I always, yeah, I always am
1:00:02
like pretty, pretty confident. And I always am
1:00:04
pretty like, you know, comfortable
1:00:07
in, in these spots, but I just. Something
1:00:10
was, something was different this time around. I really felt
1:00:12
like it was my time. It was like, it was
1:00:14
my time to shine. Like after last week happened, that
1:00:16
was a big letdown for me. You know, I got
1:00:18
beat, uh, he played way better than
1:00:20
I did. I didn't give him any pressure. It was that kind
1:00:22
of, it was like those last seven holes were like to
1:00:25
be in a, in a final group on Sunday and to have
1:00:27
like the first nine holes, feeling like you're going to win the
1:00:29
tournament. And then like two holes later, you're playing the last seven
1:00:32
holes, feeling like you have zero chance to win a tournament is
1:00:34
like an awful feeling when you've pretty much like
1:00:36
led a tournament for the entire week. So I
1:00:40
know that feeling and I really didn't want to have
1:00:42
that feeling again. So I just had to sack up.
1:00:44
Yeah. And then, then you celebrate and you, it looked
1:00:46
like a pretty fun celebration. I saw you drinking out
1:00:48
of the trophy. I feel like you have to do that.
1:00:50
What was the first thing that you poured into the trophy? Austin
1:00:53
poured some cheap champagne into it
1:00:55
and everyone was yelling at him. And I looked
1:00:57
around and I'm like, where
1:00:59
are we going to get nicer champagne? And everyone's like, ah,
1:01:01
right. So we all just ended up drinking it. It
1:01:04
was like Andre. I don't
1:01:06
even know. It was started with a
1:01:08
K. Oh, I have no, I mean, I was, I
1:01:10
was drinking. They, the, I remember at Val
1:01:12
Hall, it was nice. He gave me cigars. He gave me
1:01:14
whiskey. Um, it was,
1:01:17
it was a night where I know I don't, I don't, I normally
1:01:19
don't drink too much, but you know, it had
1:01:21
to be done. Yeah. All right. I got a dumb question for
1:01:23
you. Um, and don't take offense to
1:01:25
this, but do you feel like you
1:01:28
robbed us a little bit of, uh, being
1:01:30
the guy who can't win the big one
1:01:32
as like media people? We love being
1:01:34
like, oh, that guy can't win the big one. You kind
1:01:36
of won the big one a little too early. I need
1:01:38
another like five years. Do you want me to, you
1:01:41
want me to bathe in my own shit for another
1:01:43
five years? Yeah. Because that's our favorite storyline. Huh? Great
1:01:45
golfer can't win the big one. Phil was like that
1:01:47
for a long time. Yeah. Did you, did you kind
1:01:50
of, Sergio? Yeah. Did you rob us? Yeah. You know
1:01:52
what? I did. Yeah. So
1:01:54
maybe apologize. I don't know. Yeah. I mean, you're,
1:01:56
you're honest. At least you're honest. You
1:01:58
know, you're in this one. You're in the year. in this line of
1:02:00
work and you're one of the honest ones to
1:02:02
say that, you know, everyone else is like, Oh,
1:02:04
I'm so happy for you. Yeah. Yeah.
1:02:07
They're thinking in the background, the back of their head,
1:02:09
they're like, Oh, we had so many more stories. Like,
1:02:11
you know, like we could have done a big, you
1:02:13
know, feature on Zander being like Ken Zander win the
1:02:15
big one. Now that you robbed them, you
1:02:18
put food off their table. Yeah. Listen,
1:02:20
Dan Marino has, has served that role. Very
1:02:23
importantly, I would say for NFL media, for the
1:02:25
rest of his life, right? The
1:02:27
amount of stories, the amount of things that people got to
1:02:29
say now it's like, okay, yes, and I guess, I
1:02:32
guess he proved us wrong. Now we actually have to be
1:02:34
creative and do something interesting with our job and try to
1:02:37
actually dig into something deeper behind the, besides
1:02:39
the fact that this guy just hasn't won
1:02:41
a major yet. Yeah. Yeah.
1:02:44
I mean, I got to talk to you about someone
1:02:46
else. Well, I just realized we played ourselves because I
1:02:48
was thinking like, who's the next can't win the big
1:02:51
one guy. And we'll just say that no guy will
1:02:53
win a big one. No, it's not him. No. He's
1:02:56
talking about Max. Yeah. He's going
1:02:58
to win a big one. Do you think Max has what it takes to
1:03:00
win a big one? Of course. Yeah.
1:03:03
I mean, if you're a top player in the world, I think all those
1:03:05
guys, I mean, you just, I am
1:03:08
like, I can do an interview on close calls.
1:03:10
So like I, I know better than anyone else,
1:03:12
what it's like to just sit on the other
1:03:14
side of the fence, like with pretty much your
1:03:16
entire body over and you're just like, what, why
1:03:18
am I not on the other side of this thing completely?
1:03:20
And so, you know, you just, you need some things to
1:03:22
go your way. You need a good break. You need to
1:03:24
be in the better way. Like all those small things add
1:03:26
up and then at the end of the day, like you just
1:03:29
need to really take advantage of the moment and, you know,
1:03:31
put yourself in a position enough times. Like
1:03:33
I said, I mean, I know that better than anyone else. You're going to,
1:03:36
you're going to, I kept saying knock,
1:03:38
knock on that door until you fricking bust that
1:03:40
thing down. I just need to, I need a
1:03:42
damn battering ram to do it. Yeah. And
1:03:45
what you did on Sunday was incredible because it
1:03:47
felt like, you know, Big Cat talked about when
1:03:49
you, when you lost the lead momentarily and then
1:03:51
Bryson hits his, his ball off a tree and
1:03:54
it bounces perfectly into the middle of the
1:03:56
fairway. I heard about any birdies. I heard
1:03:58
about that. Yeah. I felt
1:04:00
like, okay, the gods are just stacked against Zander
1:04:02
right now. You see that stuff. Yeah, like when
1:04:04
I won the Travelers, I hit this ball towards
1:04:07
out of bounds and it hit and then hit
1:04:09
off like, you know, there's like a fence post like
1:04:12
every four feet. It hit off one of the
1:04:14
fence posts and then kicked back in play and
1:04:16
I'm like, that was my break, you know, like
1:04:18
from the golf gods. But then, you
1:04:20
know, I hear about Bryson doing this and it's like, I'm
1:04:22
sure everyone watching was like, oh my gosh,
1:04:24
like this is his break. Like this is what you need to
1:04:26
win a tournament. So it's
1:04:30
fortunately, you know, fortunately went my way. Yeah. Have you
1:04:32
gone back and watched your final round yet? No,
1:04:34
I haven't. I've just seen the pot, you know, six
1:04:37
times now, I think. Yeah, I would do that. I
1:04:39
would do that if I were you. I would just
1:04:41
sit there and watch my entire championship winning round. Yeah.
1:04:44
Sit on the couch like everybody else. Yeah, for sure.
1:04:46
I mean, you don't seem like a guy that would
1:04:48
do something like that, but. What, win a championship? I
1:04:52
would just have it be playing on loop forever for
1:04:54
the rest of my life. Yeah. You
1:04:56
walk into my house and you have to watch the final
1:04:58
round. You have no choice. Oh
1:05:00
man. You go to a download the
1:05:03
MP3 of just the announcers and I just
1:05:05
have it in my car all the time. Yeah. Yeah.
1:05:07
Oh, I would be a terrible champion. Yeah. Xander,
1:05:09
I. This is a star winner. Yeah. I
1:05:12
got a question about your dad who seems like
1:05:14
an all time figure. He's your swing coach, been
1:05:17
your swing coach your entire life. That's
1:05:19
nice of you to give him a job. He
1:05:22
also, I read that he watched,
1:05:25
he didn't even watch you win this tournament.
1:05:27
He was in a shipping container in Hawaii
1:05:30
because he's building a family compound. So
1:05:32
that alone, like what happened there?
1:05:34
And then I have a follow up question. Yeah.
1:05:37
So a lot of that is true. He's
1:05:39
been my coach for forever. I
1:05:42
actually ended up hiring Chris Como in
1:05:44
November. We've been working together since November
1:05:47
of last year. And
1:05:49
so I've known Chris for quite some time. Had
1:05:51
a mutual friend that kind of introduced us. And
1:05:55
so my dad knows Chris pretty well. He, Chris did like a
1:05:57
little golf channel thing with us when he was working with them.
1:06:00
And so my dad just
1:06:02
felt comfortable. He was like, you know, I don't, you
1:06:05
know, he's always going to be, you know, he's always going to be
1:06:07
my dad. But in terms of like the golfing capacity, he
1:06:09
sort of passed the torch over to Chris and he
1:06:11
felt like, you know, there's no need for him to
1:06:13
be there if, you know, I'm there with, you know,
1:06:16
the rest of my team. So he
1:06:18
is he is definitely a character. His
1:06:20
nickname is the Ogre. We
1:06:23
can get into why that is. But why is that?
1:06:25
Yeah. Tell us. It
1:06:27
is pretty self explanatory. All
1:06:29
right. So here's so how is
1:06:32
the Ogre though? I've seen pictures of him. He's
1:06:34
always wearing like linen and cool hats. He seems
1:06:36
like he's like right out of a Tommy Bahama
1:06:38
like catalog. Yeah. But he's the Ogre.
1:06:41
He's the I mean, the Ogre is more of
1:06:44
a he he
1:06:47
he handles he handles
1:06:49
conversations and tough,
1:06:52
tough, I guess, situations and in an
1:06:54
Ogre fashion. You know, he's not afraid
1:06:56
to get he's not going to
1:06:58
get in your face. Yeah. Like
1:07:01
like that. He's like he's like that
1:07:03
growing up too. So he's been consistent on that
1:07:05
front. Well, so that was my other question because
1:07:07
I heard this story and it's a hilarious story.
1:07:10
Your dad was your swing coach or is your swing
1:07:12
coach your entire life and
1:07:14
he would not let you watch your own
1:07:16
swing until you were 17 or 18 and
1:07:18
even threatened your friends to be like, if
1:07:20
you show him a video of his own
1:07:23
swing, like you're going to be in trouble.
1:07:25
Yeah. Is that true?
1:07:27
Yeah. Kids are like, you know, kids are
1:07:29
like, I'll be like, dude, look,
1:07:31
come on, let me like, I need to see what's
1:07:33
going on. Like, you know, I don't feel good about
1:07:35
this. And they're like, no, sorry, man. I can't get
1:07:37
someone else to do it. That's
1:07:39
incredible. So why did he not want you to see
1:07:41
your own swing? He just was like, you
1:07:43
know, there's no he's like, one, you're not going
1:07:45
to know what you're looking at. Two, he's like,
1:07:48
you're going to try and be too perfect. So he's like,
1:07:50
what's the point in you looking at your swing and, you
1:07:52
know, you know, making you want to lose your freaking mind.
1:07:55
And so he's kind of right. You know, sometimes I look at my swing now
1:07:57
and I'm like, well, you know, I have Chris to
1:07:59
talk to. about my swing in the videos, but
1:08:02
sometimes I look at my swing and I'm like, I mean, it looks fine to
1:08:04
me. And they're like, no, you're doing that
1:08:06
wrong. And I'm like, I mean, I guess you're right.
1:08:08
Like I didn't see that, but sure. So we just
1:08:10
let the pros handle that. Yeah, that's a smart move.
1:08:12
Like when you're 16, 17, your
1:08:15
swing is built up in your mind's eye. You have
1:08:17
it like pictured in your own head what it looks
1:08:19
like. And then if you see it, it's like hearing
1:08:21
the sound of your own voice. And
1:08:23
you're like, oh my God. It's like eating, yeah.
1:08:25
It's like, you see yourself running, you see yourself
1:08:27
getting interviewed, you see yourself throwing something, you feel
1:08:30
like you're Jason Bourne in this situation. And
1:08:32
you see a clip of it and you're like, wow.
1:08:35
Yeah, I got a lot of work. Yeah, people are
1:08:38
roasting me online for my back thing. I got to
1:08:40
fix something so it looks better. Yeah, it's tough. I
1:08:42
just love the idea that he told all your friends,
1:08:44
like do not show him his own swing. And you're
1:08:46
just walking around being like, will someone let me see
1:08:48
my swing? I did
1:08:50
see a picture of him. He's got your gold medal, or at
1:08:52
least he did. Does he still have it? Yeah,
1:08:55
yeah. So I mean, I have this, I got
1:08:57
this puppy right here just for the moment. It's
1:09:00
gonna go back to the West Coast. My parents are like the
1:09:02
safekeepers of my trophies. And so they're
1:09:04
probably gonna party way harder than I did with this thing
1:09:06
to be, they're gonna go around town in San Diego and
1:09:08
let everyone drink out of it if I had to guess.
1:09:10
I love that. Yeah, your dad posted kind
1:09:12
of a thirst trappy picture of him wearing
1:09:15
the gold medal, just wearing like a
1:09:17
swimsuit, flexing. Your dad's throwing
1:09:19
his shit. It's a speedo. Yeah,
1:09:21
he's got that old man string. I
1:09:26
don't know how I feel about it anymore. He's getting, he's gonna turn 60 this
1:09:28
year. So I'm sure I could take him at
1:09:30
some point. This is another
1:09:32
dumb question for you. It's something that we're planning
1:09:34
on doing here because we saw John Daly's round
1:09:36
on Thursday where it was reported that he smoked
1:09:38
two packs of cigarettes, had a
1:09:40
couple of cokes and I think four Snickers
1:09:42
bars. We're gonna try to do the John
1:09:44
Daly challenge. Do you think that's possible for
1:09:46
us as a podcast to smoke 40 cigarettes?
1:09:49
And obviously the two cokes is
1:09:51
fine. Max takes care of that in about five minutes. And
1:09:54
the Snickers bar, do you think it's possible for a non-smoker,
1:09:57
mere mortal not named John Daly?
1:09:59
daily to accomplish that feat? I
1:10:03
mean, it just depends on what's on the line. Nothing.
1:10:06
Right. Yeah. Just
1:10:08
us embarrassing ourselves. Just the ability to say like- That's a lot. Yeah.
1:10:11
That's a lot. I mean, that's- I don't know. Usually
1:10:13
when someone tells me I can't do it, I usually get it done. So,
1:10:16
it may take me longer than others, but you know,
1:10:18
if you tell me I can't smoke four cigarettes in
1:10:20
a day, I mean, I might need
1:10:22
an IV and a hospital treatment
1:10:24
after that, but I think three or four of you
1:10:27
guys can rip through some heaters. I'm a big deal.
1:10:31
Yeah. Did you have a chance to talk
1:10:33
to Scotty at any point this weekend? Because
1:10:35
he kind of cucked you a little bit with
1:10:37
the storylines being like, I got arrested
1:10:40
and you just won your first major. Did you have any
1:10:42
chance to talk to him? It was the craziest story. Yeah.
1:10:45
Yeah, I did. You know, he
1:10:48
handled it really well in Scotty's shuffler fashion. I mean, he's
1:10:50
a good dude. As soon as I saw it, I mean,
1:10:52
I won. I thought it was a prank and then I
1:10:54
saw it on news and I was like, holy smokes, this
1:10:56
actually happened. He's, you
1:11:00
know, I hope he comes out. It's it feels like he's
1:11:02
going to come out like OK from all this. It feels
1:11:04
like things are going to get dropped. I don't know. But
1:11:07
he's he took it like a champ and we're all
1:11:09
giving him, you know, we have like
1:11:11
a we have a group chat, you know, with our physio or
1:11:14
our team or crew, it's like me,
1:11:16
Gary, JT, Jordan, Scotty, Pat. We all
1:11:18
share the same physio. So the
1:11:21
boys were heckling Scotty a little bit. Yeah,
1:11:24
just enough. Yeah, you got to change the
1:11:26
picture of that group chat to the mugshot.
1:11:29
Obviously, that happened. Yeah,
1:11:32
that's good. I actually think that's what I want
1:11:35
my boys to do if I if I got
1:11:37
arrested for not a really serious thing, just being
1:11:39
right. Yeah, let's roast them. That's how you know
1:11:41
you have real friends, right? Right. Yeah. I was
1:11:44
thinking that the day that he got arrested, it
1:11:46
was actually tougher for everybody else
1:11:49
playing, not Scotty, because Scotty
1:11:51
is riding off the adrenaline. It's fun to get
1:11:53
arrested sometimes. And you're like, okay, sweet. Let's go
1:11:56
to the golf course, whatever. I'm out. I'm relieved.
1:11:58
Everybody else is playing thinking like. Holy
1:12:00
shit, I can't believe Scotty Scheffler got arrested
1:12:02
for felony assault on the police officer Like
1:12:04
that that screws with everybody else's brain out
1:12:06
there, too Perverse psychology
1:12:08
there. Yeah, maybe I mean he he and
1:12:10
I mean he's shoot he played he's had
1:12:13
66 coming out of jail So, I mean
1:12:15
that's like it's pretty crazy. It's legendary. Yeah.
1:12:17
Yeah. Yeah I mean, I don't think
1:12:19
anyone else can say that no one else on tour
1:12:21
is being able to do that one So, I mean
1:12:23
he's he's definitely he's he's at the top of the
1:12:25
mountain for several reasons All right. I got another dumb
1:12:27
question for you. Have you seen real bros? Asimi Valley
1:12:30
no All right.
1:12:32
So the main character is zander It's
1:12:35
actually zonder Is how he pronounces
1:12:37
it but that's like that's one too of
1:12:39
zanders. I don't really know any others Yeah,
1:12:42
I guess that's why I i've heard some guys yelling
1:12:44
my name Yelling zonder and
1:12:46
I just I knew it
1:12:48
was from something and I just I my one of
1:12:50
my roommates was from simi valley So I I guess
1:12:53
i'm not too surprised. Yeah. Yeah, you got to watch
1:12:55
it. It's very very funny. It is How
1:12:57
did you make that decision to go by zander
1:12:59
not alexander? Well, my dad's
1:13:01
german, uh, if you've never heard him speak
1:13:03
so My name is
1:13:06
alexander, but like when he would yell at me as
1:13:08
a kid, it just sounded like sanda, you know like
1:13:10
a german dude I
1:13:13
never realized how like aggressive my dad's accent is
1:13:16
until all my friends are like dude. Your dad's
1:13:18
like really german Just
1:13:21
grew up listening to me yelled at by this dude
1:13:23
and then all of a sudden, you know removed from
1:13:25
him I'm like, yeah, he does sound pretty weird. I'm
1:13:27
not gonna lie. Yeah, it's an awesome name. It's like
1:13:29
very unique and cool Yeah, yeah I
1:13:32
mean easy, you know x x is nice.
1:13:34
It's simple. Yeah, throw the x go
1:13:36
and give it to you Yeah, did you yeah,
1:13:39
did you have I would imagine? um,
1:13:41
you go online after whatever after you
1:13:43
party and everything and uh, did
1:13:45
you have just a million people being like I
1:13:48
bet on you every tournament and finally did it for me because
1:13:50
I feel like that was Like a
1:13:52
lot of people were like, yes, i've always there's
1:13:54
there's like a huge xander crew That
1:13:57
was like he's gonna do it and that was their moment
1:14:00
as well. I don't actually
1:14:02
I don't really have social media so
1:14:05
I have it but I don't see I don't
1:14:07
have any of my passwords I don't see anything.
1:14:09
Smart. But yeah I mean people will tell me
1:14:11
I mean I had like a I
1:14:13
had like a 12 year old kid yell at
1:14:15
me while we're playing like you're gonna choke. I
1:14:19
remember I was kind of walking and nobody just keep my head down
1:14:21
but I remember in my head I was kind of
1:14:24
like what the what did you
1:14:26
say? Where is your father? Yeah.
1:14:29
What's going on here? So I can imagine you know
1:14:31
I think I haven't won in such
1:14:33
a long time all the people that were betting on me
1:14:36
I feel like I hit this curve where it's like everyone was
1:14:38
betting on me to win and then everyone's
1:14:40
like this guy's never gonna win and so they just stopped
1:14:42
betting on me and then as soon as they stopped betting
1:14:45
on me I win and now everyone's like god damn it.
1:14:47
Yeah the true believers. Yeah. There's some
1:14:49
true believers out there. Yeah the OG's know who they
1:14:51
are. Yeah. You know
1:14:53
there's some quitters along the way and
1:14:55
that's fine too. Yeah. Yeah that's funny.
1:14:57
So I read that when you got
1:14:59
married in your wedding you dressed
1:15:01
your dogs up in formal attire for
1:15:03
the wedding. Is that true? Yeah I
1:15:06
mean do you think that was
1:15:08
my idea? Like are we just
1:15:10
talking tuxedos or did one yeah
1:15:14
yeah I got an Aussie labradoodle and a
1:15:16
Frenchy and my guy my Frenchy he looked
1:15:18
like a stud in his tux. Dude
1:15:20
we PFT and I went so I
1:15:23
have a coffee company named after my
1:15:25
dog and we give some of the
1:15:27
money to wear a rescuter in Chicago
1:15:29
and every year there's a thing called
1:15:31
the fur ball that it's literally like
1:15:34
a black tie affair and people bring
1:15:36
their dogs in like dresses and tuxedos.
1:15:38
Yeah it's crazy long dresses that like
1:15:40
follow the dog around. Yeah it was
1:15:42
awesome. It's nuts. But like
1:15:44
you might have to have your dogs they got the tuxes.
1:15:47
Yeah I don't know he's a little chunkier than he used
1:15:49
to be so I don't know if he's gonna
1:15:51
fit but that's brutal. He
1:15:53
tries to fit in the like I can't fit in
1:15:55
this anymore. That plays if it's a Frenchy. A Frenchy
1:15:57
like trying to squeeze into a way too tight tuxy.
1:16:00
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's nice Yeah,
1:16:04
all right. Well, this has been awesome
1:16:06
Xander. I got one last question It's
1:16:08
a row back question. Are you show
1:16:10
BAK comm promo code take 20% off
1:16:12
your first purchase qzips polos hoodies joggers
1:16:14
shorts row back comm promo code
1:16:16
take I It's a longer
1:16:18
question But your your story is really cool
1:16:20
because you weren't like coming out of
1:16:23
high school You weren't like one of
1:16:25
these guys that everyone was talking about and you end
1:16:27
up going to a school That's not like known for
1:16:29
golf Like when you when you're
1:16:31
like coming up and going through the
1:16:34
qualifying and everything Was there ever a moment where
1:16:36
you're like this? This is I'm just
1:16:38
so far off because I even read a story about
1:16:40
how when you were in College
1:16:42
your golf coach like one of your
1:16:44
first years put you up against Patrick
1:16:46
Cantley when you played UCLA And it
1:16:49
was like I just want him to see like what the difference
1:16:51
is of how far he has to go And
1:16:53
the story goes that you shot like a 76 and
1:16:56
he shot a 63 So well,
1:16:58
oh you shot us higher than 76 78 Oh
1:17:01
shit, but like that it's a very cool story
1:17:04
because it doesn't feel like you were one of
1:17:06
those guys It was anointed from this this young
1:17:08
age, but now you're one of the best golfers
1:17:10
in the entire world So in that process was
1:17:12
there a moment where you're like, this is
1:17:14
I'm never gonna make it Yeah, I mean
1:17:16
100% I mean I like I think because
1:17:18
of everything you've just said I just had this chip on my
1:17:20
shoulder my whole career and You
1:17:23
know, I am a firm believer if you look at all
1:17:25
sports. There's always you know, the walk-on type guy You
1:17:28
know, I had a I was pretty I was a good
1:17:30
amateur I just you know wasn't my class is ridiculous that
1:17:32
if you just look at the class of 2011 golfers I
1:17:35
mean I can name like 15 guys
1:17:37
that are all on tour that have won basically and
1:17:39
it's like that's just ridiculous to
1:17:41
have a class where everyone's that strong but
1:17:44
Yeah, I mean I think coming out of college
1:17:46
my senior year college I went to few school
1:17:48
and I failed in second stage. I
1:17:50
missed second stage by six shots. So I was like
1:17:54
You know, I've been working my whole life, you know, I'm like 21 or
1:17:56
yeah I turned 21 my senior year.
1:17:58
So it's like okay, like this is what I really want
1:18:00
to do. And then so I go to Q school
1:18:03
after I graduate, I end
1:18:05
up getting through because a guy misses his putt
1:18:07
on the last hole to let six of us
1:18:09
in and I was one of those six guys.
1:18:12
So I get in on the number, then I go to
1:18:15
Corn Fairy, web.com at the time, I do
1:18:17
my time there and I'm like 115th on the
1:18:20
points list, like losing my card. And
1:18:22
then like I rattle off like, you know, three,
1:18:25
four top fives at
1:18:27
the end of the year, and then I finished
1:18:29
26th on the money list, missed out by $900
1:18:32
to get my tour card. And I'm like, I'm
1:18:34
like, God, this is frickin, you know, like, I feel
1:18:36
good. You know, this is this is not it. So
1:18:38
then I go to the playoffs, I get my cards
1:18:41
at the playoffs. And then I
1:18:43
you know, then I get on tour. And I'm like, you
1:18:45
know, same same shit, different tour. I'm playing
1:18:47
all year long. I'm like 130th on the
1:18:49
on the FedEx Cup, because I haven't done
1:18:52
anything. And then I Monday
1:18:54
qualify for the US Open, I finished tied fifth.
1:18:56
And that just like vaulted my entire career from
1:18:58
that moment. And then I ended up like I
1:19:00
secured my card at the Travelers a couple of
1:19:02
weeks later. And then I ended up like
1:19:05
winning Greenbrier and then my life just
1:19:07
changed. So awesome. It's like but until
1:19:09
that moment, like until I secured my
1:19:11
card at Travelers, I
1:19:13
mean, I had I don't know where I had more
1:19:15
relief, like on 18 on Sunday when I made that
1:19:17
putt and like I put my arms up and
1:19:19
I was so relieved or when I you know,
1:19:22
got my card at Q school, or when
1:19:24
I was able to secure my
1:19:26
card at Travelers and then to win a Greenbrier. I
1:19:28
mean, those are all like, and to
1:19:30
me, it was cool because it all they all just kind of
1:19:32
stacked up. You know, they all stacked
1:19:34
up and I just kept going and you know,
1:19:37
it's like, you know, you see other sports stories are kind of like
1:19:39
that, you know, it's like, you don't really
1:19:41
get your shot, but then you do get one and
1:19:43
then you just take advantage of it and then you
1:19:46
just can't look back. It sounds to me like you're
1:19:48
like one of the greatest like procrastinator slash under pressure
1:19:50
guys where you're like, I'm not I'm gonna start playing
1:19:52
my best golf right when I need to even the
1:19:54
PGA where it's like, all right, enough people are like,
1:19:57
Oh, Xander's never going to win. Now I'm going to
1:19:59
win one. You've got a poor a pressure is
1:20:01
like then he's become the best golfer in the world. And
1:20:03
yeah I am said that San Diego born and
1:20:06
raised. pretty laid back so maybe you're right, maybe
1:20:08
any to get a little east coast like energy
1:20:10
into my veins? Yeah so where do you go
1:20:12
from here now that it's hard have a chip
1:20:14
on his shoulder right now. You're. You're
1:20:16
the hottest thing in golf, so what's how
1:20:18
to motivate yourself? Dollars. A
1:20:20
sip on my shoulder outtakes Al Davis Everly. Try
1:20:22
Hop and will try. Tell me there's no chip
1:20:24
on my shoulder like a couple years ago of
1:20:26
his. I get on is like you don't have
1:20:28
a tip on her shoulder and I'll like I
1:20:30
like can even give him shit to them altogether.
1:20:32
try often as well. Yeah, he would have. He
1:20:34
would have given me shit about. How.
1:20:37
He was right Be now I know he's of
1:20:39
these as these as that guy so it was funny.
1:20:41
Are playing at in Dallas and sky and try out
1:20:43
as like you have a tip on are so many
1:20:46
more and I'll take his mother fucking on I'm you
1:20:48
end up shooting like sixty two and a final round
1:20:50
to finish high tide fifth cause I wasn't playing very
1:20:52
well at that time. This is like two years ago
1:20:54
and I didn't text some could I knew if
1:20:56
I text of you would have been like you're
1:20:58
welcome I told you. Yeah right Yeah my sir.
1:21:00
Yep yeah I'm in South. Assisted.
1:21:03
When. He won his his his dream come true
1:21:05
and had something about and I do but I've
1:21:07
always envisioned myself we more than one. So skyscrapers
1:21:10
at the top of those mountains that I've I've
1:21:12
referred to before and. I'm in, I
1:21:14
think. When. You're the number
1:21:16
one point the world than you start. Have you have
1:21:18
to reassess? You know what's going on and and how
1:21:20
to motivate yourself because he pretty much accomplished everything you'd
1:21:23
want to accomplish. Yeah but for me you know on
1:21:25
the second best player in the world was is an
1:21:27
awesome accomplishment. Some summer have never been but. I'm
1:21:30
so far behind Sky settler. That
1:21:33
it's like I just have to keep my
1:21:35
head down and keep running. Yeah, no snow
1:21:37
felonies l. A to point. yeah
1:21:40
i'm inside the yet for hurt her
1:21:42
golf though you know golf is that
1:21:44
saga ago professional sport like god he's
1:21:46
got for from highland park in taxes
1:21:48
or aires gum or streak read and
1:21:50
all that and i know a see
1:21:52
the idea what it is crazy does
1:21:54
is again a been like are scotty
1:21:56
like yeah that's kind of cool give
1:21:58
us like right years Golf yeah, yeah,
1:22:00
it's golf like every other sport. You're like oh shit
1:22:02
like is he gonna be able to make it in
1:22:05
the season? And then now it's like oh, he's a
1:22:07
badass. Yeah next tattoo
1:22:14
You guys are just sitting around you know this
1:22:16
beautiful country club being like and this guy's just
1:22:19
telling the story for the hundredth time He's like
1:22:21
yeah, they told me to stop and I didn't
1:22:23
stop Yeah That
1:22:27
also the chip on your shoulder you just said it
1:22:29
the chip on your shoulder is people saying
1:22:31
you don't have a chip on Your shoulder
1:22:33
and yeah, so yeah, you're a chip on
1:22:35
the shoulder guy for sure. Yeah. Yeah, it's
1:22:38
gotta I mean aware it man is there
1:22:40
stuck. Yeah coming. I love it. Well Xander.

program recurring guest very special guest it
1:25:32
is Brian Wynhorse from ESPN you can listen
1:25:34
to him on the hoop collective Brian
1:25:37
actually I'm gonna do it from the start you're gonna be mad at me
1:25:39
for doing this we
1:25:43
gotta get Wendy's book he told me not to do
1:25:45
this but I'm
1:25:47
doing it as a friend if I want
1:25:49
yeah we we gotta get Wendy's book he's
1:25:51
close to passing the advance so
1:25:53
we could start you know that's when the real money comes
1:25:56
yeah I was listening to his podcast he said it he
1:25:58
was a little ashamed that he said it I was
1:26:00
like, you know what? I'm just gonna let's get
1:26:02
it going. So the book is return of the
1:26:04
king LeBron James Cleveland Cavaliers and
1:26:08
We need you to we need people to buy it and
1:26:11
I also need an update How strong is
1:26:13
LeBron right now? Is he still so strong? so
1:26:16
strong Beyond just
1:26:18
strong So okay. Good.
1:26:21
How does that work if we if somebody buys the
1:26:23
audio version? Is there an audio version of it? Yeah,
1:26:25
I count so I mean like, you know, I've written
1:26:27
a you know Just I
1:26:30
appreciate first off Dan. I appreciate that. Yes,
1:26:32
you know, thank you very kindly It's always
1:26:34
appreciative of you and your audience that
1:26:36
that book was a best New York Times bestseller
1:26:39
But you know the way it works is, you
1:26:41
know You heat there's a certain line and we've
1:26:43
been dancing on that line the books out seven
1:26:45
years, right? I've subsequently written another book also on
1:26:47
the Bronn that Also
1:26:50
was a bestseller But I was
1:26:52
just making a joke on the my pod that I need
1:26:55
the Lakers to win again because the last time when the
1:26:57
Lakers Won in 2020 we had a
1:26:59
nice, you know, cuz normally you write a book
1:27:01
about LeBron winning with the Cavs about the championship
1:27:03
You know by 2019 when he's
1:27:05
in LA that book ain't selling anymore, right?
1:27:07
All right, we're doing overseas sales
1:27:10
Then when he won in 2020 with the Lakers,
1:27:12
you know, it's pure and middle mid covid
1:27:15
people like oh Yeah, I'll take this LeBron book and we had
1:27:17
a nice bounce So, you know the Lakers, you
1:27:19
know getting knocked out in the playoffs is just
1:27:21
hampering my chance to get past the advance Which
1:27:23
is a you know, yeah, maybe
1:27:25
maybe you guys write a book and it would fly
1:27:27
past the advance But some of us see I have a harder
1:27:29
time to do that. Well, let's get let's get our audience
1:27:32
to buy the book Maybe if we get past
1:27:34
the advance you'll tweet out an update on LeBron
1:27:36
strength Be like just a you know breaking news
1:27:38
LeBron still so strong. I Think
1:27:41
that's a fair That's a
1:27:43
fair deal that I can run past various agents
1:27:45
Okay If you want us to help out with
1:27:47
to really goose the numbers a little bit We'll
1:27:49
just report that you said on part of my
1:27:51
take that LeBron is going back to Cleveland And
1:27:54
then now there's a sudden interest in LeBron's career
1:27:56
in Cleveland So what are the chances that Dan
1:27:58
Gilbert gets on the phone? gets
1:28:00
the band back together. Two boys
1:28:03
riding again is one. Yeah,
1:28:05
so this is how it went. LeBron went
1:28:07
back to Cleveland for
1:28:11
Mother's Day. Okay.
1:28:14
I love it. I love it. But yeah, yeah,
1:28:16
Windy did not ask me to do that. I'm
1:28:18
doing that because I love Windy. So do buy
1:28:20
it. Alright, so let's talk some basketball. I
1:28:23
want to start with, we'll get to the
1:28:25
Pacers Celtic series, but I want to start with
1:28:27
the Mavs and the Wolves because I think
1:28:30
we, you know, all of us watched that
1:28:32
game on Sunday night and saw what the
1:28:34
Wolves did and we were shocked with the
1:28:36
fact they came, overcame a 20-point deficit in
1:28:38
Denver. For
1:28:40
this matchup though, how do
1:28:42
you see it going? I feel like people are
1:28:45
forgetting the Mavs are also a very good team
1:28:47
and kind of anointing the Wolves already. I think
1:28:49
they're the better team, the Wolves, but do
1:28:51
you think, like, how do you see this matchup playing out
1:28:54
and this series playing out? First off, you
1:28:56
guys are you guys is infatuated
1:28:58
with Ant Edwards as
1:29:00
I am. Yeah, I know that's a Vogue
1:29:02
take now, like everybody says that, but like
1:29:05
last year I went to
1:29:08
a Team USA on this month-long
1:29:11
trip to Abu Dhabi and Manila.
1:29:15
I spent a month with Ant Edwards
1:29:17
in Abu Dhabi and Manila and
1:29:19
he had never been overseas before and
1:29:22
in all honesty he later
1:29:25
said that he kind of felt a little
1:29:27
bit nervous about being on
1:29:29
that team because, you know, he didn't know where
1:29:31
his place was and I mean it can kind
1:29:34
of be nerve-wracking if you know, but this
1:29:37
amazing thing happened with that team. Steve
1:29:40
Kerr kind
1:29:44
of saw him as a sixth man. They
1:29:46
were like, I think we're gonna bring Ant off the
1:29:48
bench and he came to
1:29:50
Ant before the play, before they
1:29:52
played. He's like, hey, you
1:29:54
know, in Team USA sometimes star players come off
1:29:56
the bench, you know, Dwayne Wade in
1:29:59
2008. the Redeem team, Dwayne Wade
1:30:01
came off the bench because you know, Kobe was a
1:30:03
starting two guard. And Ant was
1:30:05
like, I was cool,
1:30:07
but I didn't see Kobe on the roster. And
1:30:11
by the, maybe the third exhibition
1:30:15
game, because they played like five exhibition games,
1:30:18
Steve Kerr was like, yeah, actually, he's
1:30:20
our best player. And
1:30:22
so watching that process, I
1:30:25
like walked away from that totally convinced Ant
1:30:27
was going to have a great season. And
1:30:30
so to see him do this has
1:30:32
been awesome. And so I have
1:30:34
no doubt at all, that he is
1:30:37
going to come into this conference finals
1:30:39
with no fear. And
1:30:41
he is not going to be influenced by the
1:30:44
moment. Yeah. But I am a little bit worried
1:30:46
about the rest of the wolves with that. There
1:30:48
was a, yeah, yeah, go ahead. I
1:30:50
was just gonna say there was a very funny moment
1:30:52
where it was Kat and Ant after the
1:30:54
game, they were asking him, you
1:30:57
know, usually have to lose in the playoffs to figure out
1:30:59
how to win. And he said, goddamn,
1:31:01
how much do you want us to lose? We
1:31:03
lost a lot in the playoffs already. Like how
1:31:05
much do we need to lose before we can
1:31:07
win? And I get the feeling from Ant, like
1:31:09
he's definitely, he seems to have the
1:31:11
mental makeup to not shy away from big moments
1:31:13
and to be a guy that will step up.
1:31:15
He has the dog, as we've said, he is
1:31:17
a dog. But then you worry
1:31:20
about a guy like Carl Anthony Towns, who
1:31:22
he will play like for one half like
1:31:24
a dog and the other half like a
1:31:26
cat. And then you're like, how do
1:31:28
you put this together? I'm not so sure. So
1:31:30
the question is, does he have, could he be
1:31:32
the guy, could he just put the team on
1:31:35
his shoulders throughout a seven game series and
1:31:37
be the best player on the court when you have a
1:31:39
guy like Luca on the other side? Yeah,
1:31:42
this is like, they haven't been
1:31:45
to this part of the playoffs for
1:31:47
20 years. Like
1:31:49
20 years. I mean, they hadn't won a playoff
1:31:52
series for 20 years. I mean,
1:31:54
so like this year, they put out a press
1:31:56
release at the end of the season about how
1:31:58
they sold out the season. The
1:32:00
Timberwolves did and they
1:32:03
sold out the season because they I think
1:32:05
and if this is wrong, I'm gonna get
1:32:07
I'm gonna get in trouble. This is wrong
1:32:10
But I think they like covered up a
1:32:12
couple of sections with like tarps and
1:32:15
they sold all the available seats This is like I
1:32:18
remember when I first started going to
1:32:20
Miami years ago like when Dwayne Wade
1:32:22
got there They
1:32:25
had sectioned off the up the highest
1:32:27
deck of the arena I don't know
1:32:29
if it's second or third deck the
1:32:31
idea like of the wolves Being
1:32:34
this good like they had closed off part
1:32:36
of their arena for games. Right? That's where
1:32:38
the that's where the wolves were Yeah, okay.
1:32:41
And so now they're in the
1:32:43
conference finals And so like calling them
1:32:45
the favorite in the conference finals like
1:32:47
is wild. Yeah and
1:32:49
you know, it's amazing you know, I thought was was such a Indication
1:32:53
of the way ant looks at the game He
1:32:56
wore the microphone in game
1:32:58
seven. Mm-hmm. Now what I mean, you know obviously
1:33:01
they want him to wear the microphone every game
1:33:03
and I think it's
1:33:05
kind of like an unwritten rule that the star
1:33:07
players kind of got to wear the mic at least once
1:33:09
in The playoffs maybe they make
1:33:11
you wear it once in the finals If you get
1:33:13
there the players usually don't want to wear that and
1:33:16
if they wear it They'll wear it like early
1:33:18
in a series. Yes, like hell. Yeah, give it
1:33:20
to me game seven on the road
1:33:22
I'll take that might put it right here. Yeah here and
1:33:25
I know that that sounds weird
1:33:27
that I would focus on that but that method before the
1:33:29
game is like, yeah I'm not worried at all. Yeah,
1:33:32
go ahead and record everything I say go
1:33:34
ahead and record my trash talk to while
1:33:36
I'm at it. Yeah, and so they haven't
1:33:38
done it before but his its
1:33:41
his leadership and his
1:33:43
belief I Don't
1:33:45
know maybe you can care about seeing because Lucas been there
1:33:49
Lucas, you know been you know over in
1:33:51
Europe, I know people don't give Europeans any
1:33:53
credit But go try to win a road
1:33:55
game like in the Euro league where in
1:33:58
some of those places there's little fires
1:34:01
and they have to have a police escort for
1:34:03
the referees and there's people are
1:34:05
lighting coins on fire and throwing them down
1:34:07
to the bench And they
1:34:09
they have to like not let the visiting
1:34:11
fans into the arena or have the visiting
1:34:14
fans leave And go tell me yeah
1:34:16
the level of basketball is the same as the nba Luca
1:34:18
won everything there was to win in europe by the time
1:34:20
he was 19, right? So I'm
1:34:23
not kiree has obviously played a ton of
1:34:25
big games there's
1:34:27
less Mystery for the mavericks and
1:34:30
there is for the wolves and so when you have
1:34:32
a favorite What
1:34:34
is the number? Do you guys know what the number is?
1:34:36
I don't know what it is. I think it's it's not
1:34:38
it's not Severe it's like I
1:34:41
think the wolves are like minus 140
1:34:43
or something. Okay, so it's not crazy
1:34:45
But yeah, they are the favorite. But yeah, you're right like the
1:34:49
I so i've been on a little thing where i'm
1:34:51
probably gonna end up picking the wolves But
1:34:53
I I think that people have a
1:34:55
perception of the mavericks that is not what they
1:34:57
have been doing in the playoffs And the cohesiveness
1:35:00
of their team and their role players stepping up
1:35:02
and here's one that I would like you to
1:35:04
maybe explain Everyone just
1:35:06
says lucas defense stinks. I
1:35:08
feel like he's been playing better defense than
1:35:11
his reputation And it's kind of
1:35:13
one of those things that it's going to take a
1:35:15
little bit He's not a lead defensively, but especially the
1:35:17
team defense The mavs have been playing has been a
1:35:19
lot better than people assume So when
1:35:21
we get to this series people are like, oh man,
1:35:23
this is going to be a lot harder for both
1:35:25
teams to score Because we know about minnesota's defense They
1:35:28
were the number one defensive team for the last
1:35:30
six weeks of the season, which is one of
1:35:32
the most amazing things that we saw happen in
1:35:35
the In the you know
1:35:38
over the course of the season and the maverick
1:35:40
fans are really pissed off that luca I think
1:35:42
he got one or two mvp votes They're
1:35:45
like really pissed off that that the team didn't
1:35:47
get more credit because they went 16 and two
1:35:50
to finish the season Um, but
1:35:52
you know, it's most valuable player of the
1:35:54
year, you know, that's you know, not that he
1:35:56
was terrible before but that You know, you can't
1:35:58
disregard everything else, but The
1:36:00
way that Luca had there
1:36:03
was a couple of times in their first
1:36:05
round series were like I felt like
1:36:07
Luca had never played Defense I'd
1:36:09
never seen him play defense like that now In
1:36:12
this last series against Oklahoma City. His knee was
1:36:14
bothering him. I don't think he was quite as Able
1:36:18
to dig in as he was against the Clippers,
1:36:20
but there was like there was like one game
1:36:22
against the Clippers I can't remember was game two
1:36:24
or three where I was like, oh my god Lucas like
1:36:27
making Game changing
1:36:30
defensive stops and
1:36:32
they got him doing that the last quarter of
1:36:34
the season I can't imagine if you were a
1:36:36
Nets fan To
1:36:38
watch what Kyrie is doing. Yeah,
1:36:40
like he is the perfect teammate.
1:36:42
He is creating no distractions He
1:36:45
is playing defense. He
1:36:48
is like Bringing people together
1:36:50
like even if you're KD your KD
1:36:52
out in Phoenix. You're like wait a
1:36:54
minute What is going on and I don't
1:36:56
know maybe it's just a Kyrie is like 32 now
1:36:58
and he's not 28
1:37:01
but like this is the Kyrie
1:37:03
that's a dream teammate even LeBron like
1:37:06
LeBron was now whether LeBron actually would
1:37:08
have followed through on It I don't
1:37:10
know and maybe Kyrie knew that but like LeBron
1:37:13
said on the record in
1:37:15
front of people that he wanted Kyrie to kind of
1:37:17
be this guy. He was willing to sort
1:37:20
of shepherd him into it I do think LeBron kind
1:37:22
of saw him and Kyrie going
1:37:24
for a while That
1:37:27
was impossible Kyrie was like 25, right? This
1:37:30
version of Kyrie and this version of Luca is
1:37:32
not what we have seen before so
1:37:35
Yeah, the math the math can win
1:37:37
it all the wolves can win it
1:37:39
all and that's why This
1:37:41
is gonna be interesting series. The other thing is Two
1:37:44
really good defenders that are underrated Jaden McDaniel's. I
1:37:46
don't know. He's got a hundred thirty million dollar
1:37:49
contract He might be and he might not be
1:37:51
underrated He's awesome and
1:37:53
he's gonna be on Luca that matchup
1:37:55
and then Derek Jones jr. Who
1:37:57
makes the NBA minimum was available for
1:38:00
anybody to sign, was
1:38:03
in Chicago there last year, and
1:38:05
just didn't work out as the Bulls. The Bulls thought
1:38:07
they took him from Miami. They thought he
1:38:09
was gonna be like this kind of player
1:38:11
for them, by the end, he wasn't even playing.
1:38:14
He is like them putting him in the starting lineup,
1:38:16
like with about 20 or 25 games to go, helped
1:38:20
trigger Dallas, being
1:38:23
really good on defense. Well, he's gonna get Ant,
1:38:25
you know? And so those
1:38:28
two match ups, Jayden McDaniels on Luca
1:38:30
and Derek Jones Jr. and other people will help,
1:38:32
but Derek Jones Jr. on Ant, that's gonna be a
1:38:34
big part of that series. Yeah, mm-hmm. You're
1:38:37
always at the forefront of reporting on
1:38:39
what teams are eating the best dinners
1:38:41
together and having the best productive dinner
1:38:43
meetings together. I remember you wrote an
1:38:45
article about the Spurs legendary dinners. You
1:38:47
told us about the, it
1:38:49
was in the Heat Celtics series last year,
1:38:51
a dinner kind of galvanized the team. This
1:38:55
postseason, what teams are the closest off the court?
1:38:59
I'm behind, I don't have, I think the closest off
1:39:01
the court were the Knicks, by the way. Ooh,
1:39:04
yeah. Yeah, well they played, yeah, those guys. Watching the
1:39:06
eclipse together, yeah. Did
1:39:08
they? I missed that. Yeah, they did.
1:39:10
They liked the eclipse together? Yeah. Yeah,
1:39:13
go off. I was really
1:39:16
negative and skeptical about the eclipse, mostly because
1:39:18
I was really annoyed. I had to travel
1:39:20
around the eclipse and it was causing me
1:39:23
a lot of problems. I
1:39:25
was going to Ohio because
1:39:27
my mom was having knee surgery on the
1:39:29
day of the eclipse. So she scheduled it
1:39:31
like, she was having a knee replace. She
1:39:34
scheduled it months in advance. Obviously
1:39:36
the eclipse was known years in advance. I didn't know.
1:39:39
And my sister was like, hey, maybe we should reschedule
1:39:42
her knee surgery because it's an eclipse. I
1:39:44
was like, what? We've been
1:39:46
waiting for this surgery for five months. We're
1:39:48
not rescheduling the freaking thing. Yeah, that's a
1:39:51
crazy cake from your sister. Thank
1:39:53
you. Thank you. So
1:39:57
anyway, I was really kind
1:39:59
of annoyed because in my hometown
1:40:01
of Akron, like in Cleveland, it was
1:40:03
like, you know, center of the totality.
1:40:05
Yeah. You know, and I'd seen
1:40:07
eclipses before and I was like, oh, come
1:40:10
on, people. Like, what are we talking about? So
1:40:12
I didn't actively try to get into
1:40:14
the totality. I found myself
1:40:17
there. And
1:40:20
so I got the glasses or whatever, and
1:40:22
I went outside, literally went outside the orthopedic
1:40:24
hospital on the veranda to watch this totality
1:40:27
eclipse. And it was one minute
1:40:29
away from the totality. And I was like, okay,
1:40:31
this is mildly interesting.
1:40:34
I would look out the window. It is not worth
1:40:36
traveling thousands of miles. And
1:40:39
then that totality thing happened. And
1:40:41
I was like, oh, this
1:40:44
is actually pretty remarkable. And
1:40:47
literally in the moment that
1:40:49
the totality happened, however it was long, like four
1:40:51
minutes or whatever, I get
1:40:53
a call from the nurse like, oh, your mom's
1:40:56
been moved. Because we were like, she had got
1:40:58
her knee done. We were waiting for her.
1:41:00
She was waiting for us in her in the hotel. And they're like, oh,
1:41:02
your mom's in room 516. She's
1:41:05
looking forward to seeing you. I was like, yeah, hold on.
1:41:08
Hold on. Yeah, I'll get back to
1:41:10
you. You know, she's just out of surgery.
1:41:12
Yeah. Like, hold on. I actually
1:41:14
came for the eclipse. The surgery was just coincidental. We
1:41:16
got a totality going on. Yeah, man changed by the
1:41:18
eclipse. Well, I can see how that was team building.
1:41:20
Yes. Yeah. Team
1:41:22
building of the totality. I can actually see Kyrie
1:41:24
Irving becoming a whole new man after an eclipse.
1:41:27
Yeah. I can see him experiencing that
1:41:29
and being like, you know what? This is post
1:41:31
totality Kyrie. I'm going to be a good teammate.
1:41:34
I'm not going to be a... PFP, I am
1:41:36
making a note to ask ESPN stats and information,
1:41:38
which is the greatest asset at ESPN. Yeah. People
1:41:41
think that it's like Stephen A. Or
1:41:44
it's like the studios. The greatest asset
1:41:46
at ESPN is the stats
1:41:48
and information group. This
1:41:51
is a secret that no one really is going to ever tell
1:41:53
you. Like, these games,
1:41:56
where they end at like two in the morning or
1:41:58
whatever, and you got to be on get up. Like
1:42:00
you roll out of bed you got two hours sleep,
1:42:03
and you've got this packet of information from
1:42:05
stats and info We get on
1:42:07
there You
1:42:09
know the the Mavericks were shot
1:42:12
66% coming off Pin-downs
1:42:15
in the last 12 seconds of the shot clock and
1:42:17
that was a big difference in the game They're
1:42:20
the greatest yeah, okay. I'm having stats
1:42:23
and information. I'm giving them an assignment
1:42:25
to look up Kyrie
1:42:27
post-eclipse yeah Like if
1:42:29
there's like one that number might be amazing
1:42:31
Yeah If there's one thing that's changed because
1:42:33
I do feel like on kind of a
1:42:35
more serious level like Kyrie he is He's
1:42:38
learned over the years. I think
1:42:41
not to He's learned
1:42:43
the hot-button things that he can't say
1:42:45
to the media right he can have
1:42:47
whatever conversations He wants with his friend.
1:42:49
Yeah, but it feels like he's not
1:42:51
bringing that drama as much as he
1:42:53
used to Yes
1:42:55
for now without question
1:42:58
Especially since there's things in the world that
1:43:00
he could definitely comment on that would be
1:43:02
controversial. Yes, so and
1:43:06
By the way now that I think about it Dallas
1:43:09
was like heart of the
1:43:11
totality right yeah, I think something
1:43:14
Look it up you of you
1:43:16
have potentially identified something incredible. We
1:43:18
got a reverse firewall Kyrie All
1:43:21
right Good.
1:43:23
Oh, I can't wait to see the stats. I
1:43:25
got a question for you. This is not Brian
1:43:27
Winhorse opinion This is GM's opinion so
1:43:29
it's a two-part question Rank
1:43:32
the players all say all contracts
1:43:34
equal You know you
1:43:36
call up a GM who they would want
1:43:38
over everyone else yeah, Luca Tatum Ant
1:43:41
Halliburton so that's the first part and
1:43:43
then I have a second part of that question Luca
1:43:46
Tatum, I think they probably
1:43:48
take Luca because
1:43:51
he's 6'8 and
1:43:53
he can be such a difference maker in a single
1:43:56
game and then Tatum
1:43:59
and is interesting because
1:44:01
the ant defends, man. Like
1:44:04
this is the thing like when I see people rank
1:44:06
these players, it's
1:44:09
two ends of the court. And not
1:44:11
only does ant defend, he wants to defend.
1:44:14
This is the one thing I don't know
1:44:16
anything about college basketball. I
1:44:18
don't have time or I
1:44:20
don't have bandwidth to study it. I
1:44:24
do watch tournament, which is not a responsible
1:44:26
way to evaluate college players. So
1:44:29
I would never come out and say.
1:44:31
That's a John Paxson way to set
1:44:33
up for the draft. Yeah. The guy
1:44:36
from Connecticut, Clingan, the center. Yeah. The
1:44:39
thing that blew me away about him when I
1:44:41
watched him was that he wants to play defense.
1:44:43
What I mean by that is he
1:44:46
like busts his ass to get into
1:44:48
position. You can tell what
1:44:51
happens on that end of court he feels
1:44:54
personally responsible for. And that's
1:44:56
one of the reasons why to me, he is
1:44:59
an exciting player because not only
1:45:01
is he seven foot whatever with like a
1:45:03
seven foot. I think Gavoni said seven foot
1:45:06
nine inch. I think
1:45:08
Gavoni said his standing reach is nine foot
1:45:11
seven. So basically if he gets
1:45:13
on his tiptoes, he can probably touch the rim.
1:45:15
Yeah. It's one thing to have that and
1:45:17
then not want to play defense. I've seen plenty of players
1:45:19
like that. You know, I've
1:45:21
seen seven, I've seen seven foot three guys who
1:45:23
only want to shoot threes. Seriously. They have no
1:45:26
interest in going into the paint. This
1:45:28
guy wants that. And so that's why when I see
1:45:30
ant, not only does he
1:45:33
first have to get super long arms, even
1:45:35
though he's not super tall, he's like six
1:45:37
four, he's got really long arms. He wants
1:45:39
to defend. And that's something about Tatum. One
1:45:42
of the things that happens at ESPN is that,
1:45:44
you know, we always have these parlor games, you
1:45:46
know, for first take, who
1:45:49
is the best duo? Who's
1:45:51
the best guy to build around? Who would you pick
1:45:53
to start a team with? And I
1:45:55
am always going to default to the guys that play both
1:45:57
ends. And Tatum plays both
1:45:59
ends. And that's why
1:46:01
a lot of people I think would pick Tatum, but
1:46:03
aunt plays both ends and
1:46:06
he wants it Yeah, he
1:46:08
wants the ball. He wants the microphone
1:46:11
honestly, I Would
1:46:13
I was so impressed with him wearing the microphone?
1:46:16
Microphone got if I if
1:46:18
I was in these draft meetings, you know I was
1:46:21
listening to guys talk about what they got what they
1:46:23
got asked by I know this is a big thing
1:46:25
at the NFL Combine this is a this is gone
1:46:27
for years I Was
1:46:29
asking potential top picks. Would you
1:46:32
wear a microphone? I
1:46:34
love this one. I could just see it. Yeah, Brian when
1:46:36
or sitting in like You know
1:46:38
a front office Like a set of money
1:46:40
ball and you got the during the Utah
1:46:42
Jazz thing and be like will you wear
1:46:44
a microphone game seven? How
1:46:49
would you execute this pin down And
1:46:52
you got you know the general manager going like, you
1:46:55
know, what's your most embarrassing moment? Well,
1:46:58
you know the first time you were alone in
1:47:01
the backseat of a car with a woman What did you
1:47:03
do? Yeah, and then I would be like they get to
1:47:05
me and I'm the guy like, you know The consultant who's
1:47:07
like, you know got some sort of BS thing. Would
1:47:10
you wear the mic in game seven? Okay,
1:47:14
that's my question Do
1:47:16
you think that Jason Tatum is such a coward
1:47:19
that he made sure that his team had home
1:47:21
court advantage So he would never have to wait
1:47:23
like on game seven on the road. Absolutely
1:47:26
No, I think you should absolutely go with that thing.
1:47:28
Yeah, yeah, we're gonna get back to when horse in
1:47:30
a second He's brought to you by Chevy as everyone

1:48:37
AWLs have done. For
1:48:39
do-it-yourself projects, road trips, off-road adventures, tailgates, whatever
1:48:41
your thing is it all starts with a
1:48:43
Chevy truck. Now here's more Windhorse. Alright so
1:48:45
that's Celtics Pacer series. The Celtics are really
1:48:48
really good. Like I know that they have
1:48:50
not played. Thank you for saying that. It's
1:48:53
unfortunate the Celtics play in a conference
1:48:55
that is not good and
1:48:57
they are a lot better than everyone. They're
1:49:01
very very good. They very well could win
1:49:03
the title. I would probably, they're favorites right
1:49:05
now. Is there any chance
1:49:07
the Pacers can win this series and if they do
1:49:09
how does it, what has to happen? It's
1:49:12
so tough to say that there's no chance because
1:49:14
I've seen the Celtics play in the playoffs
1:49:16
these last few years. As
1:49:19
I wrote in my 2009 book, what was
1:49:21
the name of that book? What's going
1:49:23
on right now reminds me of In
1:49:28
2009 the Cavs won 66 games. They
1:49:30
went 8-0 the first two rounds of the
1:49:32
playoffs obliterated the first two opponents but weren't
1:49:35
like amazingly impressive. They
1:49:37
just they got through the series. They had
1:49:39
to wait nine days and
1:49:41
they played Orlando Mad, the Orlando Magic who
1:49:43
had just got off a seven game series
1:49:45
of the Celtics. Same situation. Orlando
1:49:47
wins on a Sunday afternoon and
1:49:50
comes to Cleveland to play the number one seed. 66 wins. Celtics
1:49:53
have 64 wins and the Cavs weren't
1:49:57
ready for it. Now that Orlando team was
1:49:59
not the I think the three seat, I
1:50:01
think they won like 57 games. It's
1:50:04
not exactly apples to apples. But I remember about
1:50:06
that game is the magic hit the floor, like
1:50:09
they had been driving in a race going
1:50:11
100 miles an hour and the cast hit
1:50:13
the floor, like they were slowly merging on
1:50:15
like grandma looking over their shoulder with the
1:50:17
turn signal on. And so that's
1:50:20
one thing I'll say about this is that the Pacers
1:50:22
have been playing meaningful,
1:50:25
every game matters basketball, even back into the
1:50:27
back end of the regular season, because they
1:50:30
were trying to get that six seed they
1:50:32
didn't want the seven and go into the play in.
1:50:36
And that's why they haven't lost a home game in two
1:50:38
months. I think the last home game they lost was like
1:50:40
March 18th. Because
1:50:42
all those games they had to win. And
1:50:44
when you're when you're the sixth seed, you can't
1:50:47
be losing a home game in the playoffs and thinking of
1:50:49
any chance. And so they haven't, they've
1:50:51
got they've approached all those home games seriously. The
1:50:53
other thing is, it seems to me like
1:50:55
the Pacers fans don't sell their tickets. So
1:50:58
you know, the Knicks have a huge fan base, you
1:51:00
saw them. And I know Philadelphia in Indiana, it's different.
1:51:03
But you know, I think there's not a lot of Knicks fans in
1:51:05
Chicago area or whatever. When
1:51:08
when the when the doors opened up for game three, like
1:51:10
all of a sudden, like the first 20 fans that came
1:51:12
down to the court were Knicks fans, I was like, Oh,
1:51:14
boy, here we go again. Nope, that
1:51:16
whole that whole crowd was was that gold, yellow,
1:51:18
whatever you want to call it.
1:51:20
That place is hard place to play. So I
1:51:23
know that the Pacers are much more in rhythm
1:51:26
than the Celtics because these two series of the
1:51:28
Celtics had, they were not exactly
1:51:30
put the metal to the the
1:51:32
gas to the floor series. The
1:51:34
Celtics have had time off and the Pacers
1:51:36
are awesome at home. So
1:51:39
I do think
1:51:41
this is not going to be a pushover. The Celtics are going
1:51:43
to have to play. Yeah. And
1:51:45
then the same sentence, same paragraph,
1:51:47
I'll say, the Pacers are there in
1:51:49
large part because the teams that they played were
1:51:52
so banged up. No honest and Dame got hurt.
1:51:55
Half the Knicks got hurt and they were already missing
1:51:57
Julius Randall. honor
1:52:00
the Pacers in the same way as saying that
1:52:02
they were the beneficiary of not playing a team
1:52:05
like the Celtics to this point. Yeah. I
1:52:08
think that's valid. That's valid because they
1:52:10
took care of business and the Knicks weren't necessarily like an
1:52:13
easy out for them. That was a seven
1:52:15
game series and they gave them all they could
1:52:17
handle even with the depleted roster. But
1:52:19
I do feel like the Pacers, they can score
1:52:22
and the Celtics, they have a couple games
1:52:24
it feels like every series for the last
1:52:26
few years where they just forget how to
1:52:28
shoot, where they can't make a shot. And
1:52:31
if you do that... Sometimes PFT, sometimes they
1:52:33
don't dribble. Yeah. Sometimes they forget how to dribble.
1:52:35
Yeah. And if you can't
1:52:37
dribble or shoot, the Pacers are going to outscore you.
1:52:40
They'll be able to do that. That's true. So
1:52:42
I feel like the Celtics should win this series. They
1:52:44
should win it easily, but I wouldn't be shocked if
1:52:46
the Pacers took too often. Yeah. I
1:52:49
think that's a fair thing to say. The other thing is like the
1:52:52
Celtics, they've
1:52:56
cost me so much time with
1:52:59
my fans. I've been with my family the last two years. What
1:53:02
I mean by that is they've had so
1:53:04
many series that should have been over and
1:53:06
that they messed around in when I could
1:53:08
have come home in between series. That's
1:53:12
when you as a media member, that's when
1:53:14
you get acutely aware of every
1:53:16
thing that happens in a game and
1:53:20
getting down 3-0 to the Heat and then winning
1:53:23
three in a row and then losing game seven.
1:53:25
If I was a Celtics fan, I
1:53:28
don't know if I'd have been able to recover from the experience
1:53:30
of that series. And
1:53:33
so that's the thing. They never do what you
1:53:35
expect them to do. Yeah. Yeah.
1:53:39
No, there are two losses. This playoffs have
1:53:41
been like blowout losses, which had you in
1:53:43
it, which had you just got to your
1:53:45
head, but then what do they do? They
1:53:47
just dominate the team after that. And it's
1:53:49
like that was never even a doubt. They're
1:53:51
so much better than the Cavs and the
1:53:53
Heat. Well, it's game twos, right? It's Boston
1:53:55
sports. Boston sports in general cannot win a
1:53:57
game two in a series. That's what Hank's
1:53:59
been saying. So he's worried about game
1:54:01
twos. Alright, so Yeah,
1:54:03
I like your answer though with the Pacers
1:54:05
playing meaningful games, you know the last two
1:54:07
months and the Celtics have been on cruise
1:54:09
control I still think they're gonna win this
1:54:11
series somewhat easily, but that is a wrinkle
1:54:13
I had a question for you about so
1:54:15
I did a bad job probably explaining it
1:54:17
on our show on Monday but
1:54:21
the Mavs prove the tanking
1:54:23
works with Derek Lively
1:54:25
playing incredible in game six I
1:54:28
Remember the NBA media and everyone being like pretty
1:54:30
upset that the Mavs were blatantly tanking when they
1:54:32
still could Luca was pissed off Yeah They still
1:54:34
could have made the playing game is Is the
1:54:36
league gonna now overreact to this because it if
1:54:39
I am all a big believer if your team
1:54:41
doesn't have a chance to win A championship think
1:54:44
about the future don't think about playing
1:54:46
in a playing game and getting one more
1:54:48
home home Court, you
1:54:50
know set sail for the owner think about the future
1:54:52
and that's the Mavs did and they did it and
1:54:55
it worked Yeah, and so
1:54:57
Luca had in in the closeout game against
1:54:59
the Thunder Luca had a couple of like
1:55:02
alley-oops to Derek Lively And he
1:55:04
kind of had like this sly smile at the end of
1:55:06
the game and the post game press conference He was like,
1:55:09
I'm actually pretty happy that the Mavericks got
1:55:11
Derek Lively, right? Which was
1:55:13
his sort of I mean, it was already obviously well known
1:55:16
But it was sort of his little like wink like I
1:55:18
guess it was worth it. Here's the thing about the NBA
1:55:20
you can tank Just
1:55:23
don't just don't say you're tanking right? That's when you get
1:55:25
in trouble You know when you say that
1:55:27
you're tanking is when you get in trouble and you know
1:55:30
I think there have been a fine or two over the
1:55:32
years I think the Mavericks
1:55:34
even got hit with it because I think smart Cuban
1:55:36
like in our in a interview someone said well We
1:55:38
tanked they don't care. They just you
1:55:40
know, you know, you know, it's like it's like They
1:55:44
didn't care that you rested the players They
1:55:47
just wanted you like announce it in the
1:55:50
in advance or sometimes not even say that
1:55:52
they were resting It's about
1:55:54
perception that you don't
1:55:56
need like you don't need to bring in
1:55:58
like a hundred thousand dollar consultant who's
1:56:01
got, you know, three management degrees
1:56:03
and 50 years of experience fixing
1:56:06
distressed companies to get the idea
1:56:08
that looking at how the MBA rules work and
1:56:10
have suggesting tanking. You know, go
1:56:12
tell the San Antonio Spurs that
1:56:14
tanking doesn't work. Right. Excuse
1:56:17
me. Yeah. They
1:56:19
got Tim Duncan and they got Victor Wamben-Yama by
1:56:21
blatantly tanking in both situations. Yeah. So,
1:56:25
of course. And not only that,
1:56:27
but they, the Mavericks, one
1:56:29
of the big problems the Mavericks had last year was that
1:56:31
they were after the Kyrie trade is that they were ridiculously
1:56:33
top heavy. They had those two guys and that's it. And
1:56:36
Nico Harrison, who's their GM, and Mark Cuban, who's
1:56:38
involved with those kind of things, they
1:56:42
really got creative in
1:56:45
ways to get a
1:56:47
couple of extra guys to fill this roster out. And one
1:56:49
of them was tanking to get Derek Lively. And by the
1:56:51
way, they did a draft night trade. They
1:56:54
not only tanked, they did
1:56:56
their work on the scouting end and correctly identified that
1:56:59
Derek Lively was the guy that was going to fit
1:57:01
perfect for them. And then when they,
1:57:03
and then they drew, got their information about other teams. And
1:57:05
then when they got to draft night, they saw an opportunity
1:57:07
to move back in the draft and
1:57:10
maneuver a little bit and still get the guy that
1:57:12
they wanted. And those assets helped them
1:57:14
later on. They did a deal with Sacramento and
1:57:17
they got kind of creative and it's actually kind
1:57:19
of fascinating this trade deadline
1:57:21
trade they made with Oklahoma City. They
1:57:25
needed an extra first round pick. They only were
1:57:27
allowed to trade one because they traded a bunch
1:57:29
of stuff for Kyrie. They needed,
1:57:31
they wanted, well, they really wanted to trade for
1:57:33
Kyle Kuzma, but Kyle Kuzma say he didn't want
1:57:35
to be a maverick and the Wizards actually allowed
1:57:39
him to veto the trade, which is one of the
1:57:41
most amazing stories in the NBA season. And
1:57:45
they went on the record. Michael Winger, their team
1:57:47
president, won the record and said, yeah, we went
1:57:49
to Kyle Kuzma and said, you want to go
1:57:52
to Dallas? No. Okay. See
1:57:54
you at practice tomorrow. It was like they thought they were
1:57:56
going to trade for Kyle Kuzma, but they
1:57:58
made this trade with Oklahoma City. city where they
1:58:01
traded a pick swap, like
1:58:03
in 2030 for a first round
1:58:05
pick and they use
1:58:08
that pick to trade for PJ Washington. I'm
1:58:11
like, look, I'm not even blaming the Thunder. That
1:58:13
pick swap in 2030, who knows where
1:58:15
Luke is going to be? That might end up being
1:58:17
a top five pick. I know. I
1:58:20
know. But PJ Washington splashing threes on
1:58:22
the Thunder when they enabled that trade,
1:58:25
maybe a little bit harder for breakfast to go down
1:58:28
in the morning. But they did a great job in
1:58:30
Dallas to manufacture
1:58:32
getting Derek Lively because they very easily could
1:58:34
have been in and
1:58:36
out of the playoffs and not had that pick. Manufacturing
1:58:40
how to get a PJ Washington. Gafford was
1:58:42
sort of the backup deal when Chosma said
1:58:44
no, but they did do that trade. They
1:58:46
did acquire that player. And
1:58:49
they've added three rotation players one
1:58:52
year to the next, like three rotation players on a
1:58:54
conference finals team. Like that's
1:58:57
not easy to do. And without
1:58:59
sacrificing either, they're two top star
1:59:01
players. So yeah, Lively was part
1:59:03
of an overall strategy by
1:59:06
Nico Harrison, who is
1:59:08
their GM or present whatever his title is, was really
1:59:10
good work. Yeah, it's fascinating. Yeah, it's
1:59:12
crazy to go back and look how everything
1:59:14
came together and they played it exactly perfect.
1:59:16
And Lively, he's so fun to watch. He's
1:59:18
so high energy on defense. He
1:59:21
gets the boards. He does like all the dirty work.
1:59:23
So I got a fun parlor
1:59:25
game for us. You were talking about the first
1:59:27
take parlor games. Who is the
1:59:29
best third option on any of the remaining
1:59:31
teams? If
1:59:33
we're doing it like that, saying, okay, the
1:59:35
role players are going to be the difference
1:59:38
in the playoffs. Who is the question? It's
1:59:40
a good question. Thank you. I
1:59:42
like it. Thank you. I
1:59:44
don't care. I don't think you would make it to first
1:59:46
take because we don't care about third options on first take.
1:59:48
We want to care about, you know, about seven different guys
1:59:50
and about four different teams. Well, you guys do the Batman
1:59:53
Robin. Yeah. Batman Robin. We're going to
1:59:55
Alfred. Alfred, you got to make it. Yeah. You
1:59:58
got to make the cut. Take
2:00:00
Alfred. Yeah, let's do the Alfreds. No
2:00:02
Alfred. Yeah. OK, got it. Actually,
2:00:05
a really good question. Great question. You don't even
2:00:07
have to answer. That was just, yeah. Yeah, we're
2:00:09
done. Just keep telling me how great it was.
2:00:12
Porzingis is Alfred
2:00:14
there. Wait. And we don't know how
2:00:16
good he's going to be. Wait, is
2:00:18
Porzingis your Alfred? Yeah. You
2:00:21
don't think so? I think he's Robin.
2:00:23
I think Derek White. Derek White
2:00:25
has been so good. Maybe
2:00:28
it's just because Porzingis has been injured. But
2:00:31
when Derek White is going, that
2:00:33
Celtics team feels like it has a different gear.
2:00:35
He's playing like an Alfred. Right. I'll give you
2:00:37
that. That's right. And Porzingis has been injured. OK,
2:00:39
that's fair. I think they need
2:00:41
Porzingis to be the Alfred. OK, that's fair. Yep.
2:00:44
He's a catwoman. But White has played like an Alfred. Yeah.
2:00:47
Of all the classic Alfreds, has
2:00:49
there been more of a classic, more classic Alfred
2:00:51
than Derek White this year? I think not. Derek
2:00:53
White actually had a few games we played, like
2:00:56
Batman. Pooh. You're not kidding.
2:00:58
Superman. Yeah. Also, he
2:01:00
did something interesting. They offered him a contract
2:01:02
extension last fall, which I don't
2:01:04
know how much they offer them. He
2:01:06
turned it down. The
2:01:08
contract he's on right now, it's
2:01:10
good. But he is so much
2:01:12
better than that. He totally kind of bet on himself. And
2:01:15
maybe it was a no-brainer to turn it down. I don't
2:01:17
know what the numbers were. Then he
2:01:19
had this awesome season. Boston's
2:01:22
got to pay him. Yeah. So
2:01:26
Jalen Brown's $300 million contract starts
2:01:29
next year. It was signed out
2:01:31
a year early. Tatum has
2:01:33
already qualified for his
2:01:35
$300 million. Actually, Jalen Brown came in a little
2:01:38
below $300. It was like $288. I
2:01:42
think Jason Tatum's is going to be about $308 or
2:01:45
something like that. So they're going to
2:01:47
sign him. They're giving him $300 million. They
2:01:50
have to. You got to
2:01:52
pay Derek White, by the way. That's
2:01:54
going to be an expensive team. All
2:01:57
right, so Porzingis is your number one
2:01:59
Alfred. I think
2:02:01
so, but, you
2:02:04
know, like, PJ
2:02:07
Washington was pretty important in that theory.
2:02:09
He was big Alfred. He was big Alfred. Okay.
2:02:11
Yeah, I'm going to stick with Porzingis.
2:02:14
Okay. Final answer. All right.
2:02:17
What about the wolves Alfred? Who's the Alfred that needs some?
2:02:19
Because, you know, you'd think it would be a, however
2:02:21
you look at it, root of your cat, but
2:02:23
it could easily be a Jaden McDaniels. Yeah.
2:02:26
McDaniels is big, but you know, Nikli
2:02:29
Jokic, who is not somebody
2:02:31
who I would say is effusive about
2:02:34
too many things, you know, what
2:02:37
he basically gave Mike Conley
2:02:40
to Valentine after getting
2:02:42
eliminated. And also you always congratulate the
2:02:44
opposition when you lose, but you're not
2:02:46
in the mood when you're
2:02:48
sitting up there and you're thinking about
2:02:50
your season being over. He took the
2:02:52
time to basically
2:02:54
completely applaud Mike Conley.
2:02:58
And so while Conley is not
2:03:00
going to put up 25 a
2:03:02
game normally, he gets them organized because,
2:03:05
you know, that team gets a little wild, you
2:03:08
know, cats starts having possessions where things
2:03:10
go a little crazy and goes a
2:03:12
little off board and Conley always does the
2:03:14
right thing. Sometimes it's to get the
2:03:17
ball and immediately pass it. He has the ball in
2:03:19
his hand for two tenths of a second, because that's the right thing to
2:03:21
do. Sometimes what he does is he
2:03:23
gets the ball and he's like, okay, you
2:03:25
go over here, you get over there. Rudy
2:03:28
needs a touch. Rudy's getting frustrated. He's
2:03:30
blowing steam a little bit. We're
2:03:32
going to give Rudy go bear a touch because it's going to
2:03:34
help us on the defensive end. Mike Conley, I
2:03:37
think is there probably their third, like Jaden
2:03:39
McDaniels is more important, I guess, because they
2:03:42
got to use him on Luca. But
2:03:44
Mike Conley playing well and being healthy and doing his
2:03:47
job, I think is third most important on the ball.
2:03:49
Sometimes he didn't play this postseason. They did
2:03:51
look like a much different team. They looked
2:03:54
way worse when they left organized. It said
2:03:56
that. He was like, they're like, what's the adjustment?
2:03:58
He's like, we got, we didn't have Mike Conley. The
2:04:00
Tim rules have several Alfred's like Nas read
2:04:02
who you could be an Alfred to wow.
2:04:04
I Love Nas
2:04:06
Reed's awesome. Yeah, so much fun He
2:04:10
know that stretch he had in game seven
2:04:12
Where's like a two-minute stretch where he completely
2:04:14
dominate the game on both ends like it
2:04:16
feels like he has that Every
2:04:18
other game where it's like oh this
2:04:21
game was just decided by Nas Reed just outplay
2:04:23
every man of the year Yeah, yeah, and he
2:04:25
is so strong. He's so strong. There's
2:04:27
that you know what? There's a lot of super
2:04:29
subs You know that you know you're talking about
2:04:31
Alfred talk about super subs. I don't know work
2:04:33
on your cartoon. Yeah, I'm for that. Yeah Yeah,
2:04:36
I don't know TJ McConnell. Yep Guy
2:04:39
is amazing. I mean Just
2:04:41
watch TJ McConnell play. It's just
2:04:43
amazing Peyton, Peyton Prichard. Yeah, who
2:04:46
is Absolute
2:04:48
past when he comes in the game for Boston
2:04:52
you got Nas Reed defensive or
2:04:54
a six man of the year and Derek
2:04:57
Lively comes off the bench. Mm-hmm.
2:05:00
I mean Super subs like
2:05:02
and by the way, that's one of the reasons why these
2:05:04
teams are here And I was saying all good benches you
2:05:06
forgot Luca Garza Luca Garza by
2:05:08
the way. Yeah That
2:05:11
dude is freaking ripped If
2:05:13
you see his dad his dad's big too. I
2:05:16
don't want to mess with his dad. Yeah, I
2:05:18
mean that guy is even
2:05:21
in a league where you see freak
2:05:24
athletes because With
2:05:26
all due respect like NFL players and baseball players.
2:05:28
Oh The
2:05:30
freak athletes are in the NBA. Yeah Certain
2:05:35
NFL players where that are Credit
2:05:38
incredible athletes like for example when I sit next
2:05:40
to Shannon sharp on the set of first take
2:05:42
I Look at him.
2:05:44
He's like 50 something years old. I'm like How
2:05:47
the hell did anybody ever tackle
2:05:50
him? Yeah ever but even amongst the
2:05:52
freak athletes for the NBA where you've
2:05:54
got these six foot ten guys who
2:05:56
were ripped Luca
2:05:58
Garza stands out Yeah,
2:06:01
boss and I loved it when you know, it's
2:06:03
like whenever you get the Luka Garza minutes, you're like,
2:06:05
alright Tim rolls are rolling You
2:06:08
know, you got a man not quite
2:06:11
Darko Milasich victory cigar, but I could
2:06:13
I can see that I would never say that
2:06:15
to him. No Please no,
2:06:18
please enter the game. No, allow me.
2:06:20
Yes All
2:06:22
right. Well Wendy I had one last question for
2:06:24
you. I you don't do predictions by the way
2:06:26
Wendy doesn't do predictions. I respect I mean sometimes
2:06:28
I get like tricked into it So maybe you're
2:06:30
gonna trick me into it, but I prefer not
2:06:32
to yeah you I mean, like I said, I
2:06:34
listened to you and Bond times and McMahon and
2:06:36
and you you actually did Accidentally
2:06:38
predict that the Nuggets were gonna win that
2:06:40
series by the way shady
2:06:42
business on that particular
2:06:45
thing Because we have a group chat
2:06:47
when we talk about the show before the show I'm
2:06:49
sure you guys maybe send a text to each other
2:06:52
oh, yeah, you know and I said
2:06:54
Nuggets are gonna win the series like when it
2:06:56
was 2-1 and They
2:06:58
took that you don't bring the group chat.
2:07:01
Oh, yeah Everything
2:07:03
is said in the group chat here is said out
2:07:05
loud, you know, it's fair game everything. That's why our
2:07:09
Side yeah There
2:07:11
are no I mean we got when Hank takes a nap
2:07:14
every other day We tape them doing it taking a nap
2:07:16
like everything. No, I got it. Yeah, I got it Yeah,
2:07:19
we're on the record all the time So our
2:07:21
pre podcast conversations on text are basically just like
2:07:23
what do you guys want to eat for dinner?
2:07:25
Yeah, and then and then if Hank
2:07:27
tries to jinx one of our bets, so you're saying I
2:07:29
gotta take the L Not only that I made a prediction
2:07:32
that wasn't meant to be public that turned out to be
2:07:34
wrong. Yeah Yeah,
2:07:37
yeah Wherever you make the prediction
2:07:39
it still counts because that tells me that you do
2:07:41
make predictions You just don't want to a public. Yeah,
2:07:43
you don't want to get the backlash if you're wrong So
2:07:45
you have to be about that life on and off the
2:07:48
court. Yes busted. Okay. All
2:07:50
right, so My last
2:07:52
question the rollback question RH o P
2:07:54
a CK comm promo code take 20%
2:07:56
off your first purchase QZ It's Polo's
2:07:58
hoodies joggers shorts rollback.com go take
2:08:00
you don't make predictions but if
2:08:04
we were to see a text
2:08:06
message on a group chat from Wendy
2:08:08
he would have said with
2:08:11
the final four he set this
2:08:13
team's gonna win it all. Again this
2:08:15
is not a prediction. If Boston doesn't
2:08:17
win it's a terrible
2:08:19
missed opportunity. Okay. Terrible.
2:08:22
I like that way you spend it because that's not a prediction. Because
2:08:24
like who is like Boston first off
2:08:26
they've been here a whole bunch of times like six
2:08:28
or whatever conference finals in the last like nine years.
2:08:31
LeBron's not in their way. The Warriors are
2:08:34
not in their way. Giannis
2:08:36
who they had to go seven
2:08:38
a couple years ago and they only won that
2:08:40
series really because Middleton got hurt. Giannis they didn't
2:08:42
make it there because he was hurt. The
2:08:46
team that the only team that handled them all year
2:08:48
long in a regular season was the Nuggets. You
2:08:51
know I think they lost three games in Boston.
2:08:53
Nuggets came in there and handled them. They're
2:08:56
gone. Like I'm not saying
2:08:58
that you know the Lucas a pushover and is
2:09:01
a pushover. I'm not you know disrespecting
2:09:03
the Pacers but if you're gonna win the title
2:09:06
how you got home court you're
2:09:09
playing the six seed again with all due
2:09:11
respect to the Nuggets or the
2:09:13
Pacers or the Pacers they're the six seed. You're
2:09:15
playing the six seed in the conference final. You
2:09:18
know if you're not gonna win 18 banner
2:09:22
18 that's the whole thing about Boston Boston LA
2:09:24
they both got 17 banners. They both
2:09:26
won 18. When is
2:09:28
it gonna happen? Like I
2:09:30
mean yeah they've got an injury to Porzingis but look
2:09:32
at the other teams. Other teams have also had injuries
2:09:35
you know so it's
2:09:37
sitting there in Boston's lap. They gotta take it.
2:09:39
Also they haven't had to work they
2:09:42
hadn't had to stress the last half of the last quarter
2:09:44
season. They haven't really had to
2:09:46
stress in these playoffs. Like there's
2:09:49
just there's just no assuming
2:09:51
health. They got nothing to
2:09:53
they got no excuses. You're saying it's
2:09:55
now or never. Good non prediction
2:09:57
but I get what you're saying. Championship window.
2:10:00
on the Celtics if they don't know. You know, I will say
2:10:02
this, this year and next year, with where
2:10:04
the Celtics salaries are, because you look at
2:10:06
who they're paying, they're gonna have three
2:10:08
guys making 300 million. Porzingis,
2:10:11
what he's making, they have to pay
2:10:13
Derek White, they just extended Drew Holliday.
2:10:15
They are not the Clippers.
2:10:17
Their ownership does not have $120 billion.
2:10:21
They cannot, historically, they cannot pay
2:10:24
unlimited amount of luxury tax. Their
2:10:26
team is set up, this particular group is
2:10:28
set up for this year and next year.
2:10:31
Then I think they will have to potentially retrofit a little
2:10:33
bit. It doesn't mean they're not gonna have Tatum and Brown.
2:10:36
But if they're gonna win it, it was,
2:10:38
even if they were playing the 86th version
2:10:40
of the Celtics, or the 97 Bulls or
2:10:42
whatever, it was gonna be,
2:10:45
this was gonna be their prime, prime these two years.
2:10:47
So even more amped up, 2024 and 2025,
2:10:49
I'm sorry, are
2:10:52
where the Celtics have to hit it. And
2:10:54
this is a great opportunity right now. Okay,
2:10:56
all right, seize the day, sir. All right,
2:10:58
well, Wendy, you're the best. We
2:11:00
appreciate you, as always, go buy a book so we can
2:11:02
get an update on LeBron's strength. Thank
2:11:05
you so much, and we'll see you on
2:11:07
TV and hear you on podcasts. How
2:11:09
strong is Luca Garza? That is my message. He's
2:11:11
so strong. He's so strong. I think you said
2:11:14
so buff. Yeah, he's buff. That's different than strong,
2:11:16
by the way. Yeah, one tends
2:11:18
to go with the other, but Luca
2:11:20
Garza, I'm just telling you, man, don't
2:11:23
bleep talk, Luca Garza. Okay, all right, that's
2:11:26
good, good laughing advice. And tell us about
2:11:28
Kyrie's eclipse stats, too. Yeah, let us know.
2:11:30
I'm gonna get back to you on that.
2:11:32
Find one small part of his game, if
2:11:34
that's all that it takes. That's taken enormous
2:11:36
leaps since then. We'll just run with that.
2:11:38
Zone of totality. That's what they should call
2:11:40
his cheering section in Dallas, his zone of
2:11:42
totality. I love it, I love it. All
2:11:44
right, thank you so much, Wendy. Take
2:11:46
care, guys. We
2:11:49
got part in your take coming up. Max, going
2:11:52
in this ad read, you had a take that I think actually
2:11:54
could be on part in your take. What is it? The
2:11:57
EA Sports College Football franchise, best franchise in
2:11:59
all videos. I would agree with that.
2:12:01
I agree. That's a solid take. So this entire
2:12:03
segment is brought to you by EA Sports Very
2:12:06
excited. We saw the trailer the trailer
2:12:08
dropped on on Friday credible. It was
2:12:10
awesome I love that there was allegations
2:12:12
of maybe trolling, Ohio State College

2:13:15
might be number might be yeah, I can't
2:13:17
wait for this game I cannot wait for
2:13:19
this game. All right Hank pardon your takes.
2:13:21
Hey guys Hey Hank, I
2:13:24
have sports theory about the PGA Oh I
2:13:27
have reasons to believe that Scotty was set up
2:13:29
to be arrested if you look at
2:13:31
the PGA numbers the day before it was Extremely down
2:13:33
and they've been down all season. I had that's a
2:13:35
little editorial ad oh So
2:13:37
oh that lit does live Hank. Mm-hmm. It's
2:13:40
just a fact They paid a cop
2:13:42
to tell Scotty the wrong information the
2:13:44
police department knew what time he'd be coming in and what car
2:13:46
he would be I believe it was set
2:13:49
up for large number of views the next couple days Xander
2:13:51
a PGA Stan was given the opportunity to
2:13:53
make a great story which he did the
2:13:55
story doesn't add up I'll be doing
2:13:57
more investigating to that subject. Have a great day. I like this
2:14:00
I like this a lot false flag arrest
2:14:02
look up our operation Northwoods. We have
2:14:04
a history of this type of stuff What
2:14:07
happened operation Northwoods? The CIA was trying to
2:14:09
have people hijack airplanes and then crash them
2:14:11
and then blame it on the government of
2:14:13
Cuba So we'd invade Cuba. Oh and then
2:14:15
John F Kennedy said No, we're
2:14:17
not gonna do that because we're not gonna murder our own
2:14:19
citizens and then the CIA killed him. Oh But
2:14:23
yeah Same thing same thing
2:14:25
happened with Scotty Sheffler Cuba arrested Scotty
2:14:27
Sheffler history doesn't necessarily repeat itself But
2:14:29
sometimes it rhymes. I I like this
2:14:31
take a lot I mean who
2:14:34
the cat that was a story that took
2:14:36
over the entire internet that Like
2:14:39
casual fans sports fans had to have
2:14:41
seen it would let everything and Scotty
2:14:43
winning would have been boring for the
2:14:45
sport Right. Mm-hmm. So they're like what
2:14:47
if Scotty winning with a felony? Well,
2:14:49
like how do we get him to
2:14:51
not win? Well, that wasn't why
2:14:54
he didn't win in win because he just didn't
2:14:56
have his caddy on Saturday Also Jeff to the
2:14:58
craziest story ever Jeff Darlington. He's
2:15:00
an NFL guy. Yeah, he happened to be there
2:15:03
Oh be the one that saw this interesting
2:15:05
that is interesting It's maybe Shefter cuz you
2:15:07
know Shefter's in the Illuminati. He probably was
2:15:09
like, I'll throw you a bone Jeff Darlington
2:15:12
Mm-hmm. You can have this one Well, I
2:15:14
was thinking that if it was a PGA
2:15:16
reporter if it was someone esteemed like true
2:15:18
and Rappaport that was there You would never
2:15:20
go along with anything like this true But
2:15:22
you call in a hired gun for me
2:15:24
not from the outside Darlington's your Patsy He
2:15:27
brings you and now you've got the report front
2:15:29
and center video evidence Why did it take an
2:15:31
hour for Jeff to release the video that he
2:15:33
took of Scotty getting arrested? Have you thought about
2:15:35
that one? He had the video before he had
2:15:37
the tweet but he put the tweet out first
2:15:39
then an hour later Put out
2:15:41
the video was edited. Yeah, he
2:15:43
had to send it back to Bristol. Yeah, this all
2:15:46
makes sense. I Like it.
2:15:48
Yeah, good day because they're scared of hank and the live
2:15:50
boys It's gonna
2:15:52
take an idea that will write all
2:15:54
that is wrong with this country Oh
2:15:56
prison league basketball is televised and
2:15:58
in ranked bracket winning
2:16:00
team is freed from prison yeah
2:16:03
okay yeah in yeah sure 100% in
2:16:05
what I heard was
2:16:07
more sports I'm
2:16:09
actually shocked that mr. beast hasn't figured out
2:16:11
a way to like do like a free
2:16:13
the prisoners I got a thousand prisoners and
2:16:16
I see which one could stand for the longest
2:16:20
like that doesn't that feel like something
2:16:22
he's maybe working on like squid
2:16:24
games yeah yeah I can see
2:16:26
it I built a giant horse and I put
2:16:28
a bunch of soldiers inside of it and now
2:16:30
we're wheeling it up to Moscow Russia to see
2:16:32
if they accept this gift yeah I
2:16:35
could see it for sure I have
2:16:37
a question that should have happened a few weeks
2:16:39
ago oh but do you think
2:16:42
when a player is surrounded by a bunch
2:16:44
of other four or five-star prospects that it
2:16:46
hurts a player's potential growth one
2:16:48
school that specifically comes to mind is Alabama
2:16:51
outside of a wide receiver running back to
2:16:53
historically don't have great NFL showing despite being
2:16:55
drafted high I am
2:16:57
not an Alabama hater not not but there
2:17:00
are many I think what he's talking about
2:17:02
is quarterback and Alabama Ohio State Clemson etc
2:17:04
that don't perform well in NFL offensive
2:17:07
linemen and quarterbacks stick out particularly
2:17:09
yeah so quarter I guess you
2:17:11
could say in recent history Alabama
2:17:14
earmuffs pick at no I know Ohio
2:17:16
State yeah Ohio State forever the quarterbacks don't
2:17:18
pan out maybe it's because they've got great
2:17:20
receipt they don't have to work on the
2:17:22
the small details as much as the guys
2:17:24
that that don't have all that talent around them but
2:17:27
then how would you explain Joe Burrow
2:17:30
fair point I'll see you right
2:17:32
he had a great receivers Justin Jefferson
2:17:35
like he had incredible receivers around him
2:17:38
but they're not traditionally a quarterback no but I'm saying
2:17:40
like how would you do it a guy like that
2:17:42
who was good in in
2:17:45
college with incredible talent and then also
2:17:47
good in the NFL he was actually
2:17:49
the double threat he was LSU and
2:17:51
Ohio State yeah no
2:17:54
this is a regular take I kind of agree with
2:17:56
it because you guys get you if you're
2:17:59
if everyone is always is open, it's going to be
2:18:01
easier and harder to great. But what
2:18:03
about quarterbacks that go to maybe
2:18:05
not as good of a program and they play worse
2:18:07
competition? So it's
2:18:09
easier for them because they're not playing as good
2:18:11
defenses. Josh Allen. Jay
2:18:14
Cutler was really the best example of
2:18:16
this. Yeah. Jay Cutler at
2:18:18
Vandy. Caleb Williams. Didn't have great receivers,
2:18:20
gets to the NFL, but he's still used to
2:18:22
playing against SEC defenses. It
2:18:25
turns out that it's just hard to pick quarterbacks.
2:18:27
Yeah, probably. Alright,
2:18:30
last one. The NBA season should start in
2:18:32
December and finals should finish first week of
2:18:34
August. Yes. Played fully indoors
2:18:36
so the weather doesn't matter. It fills the
2:18:38
void of no major sports in July and
2:18:40
early August. And it'd compete with
2:18:42
the NFL viewers for less than two months. Or
2:18:44
for two less months. Everybody wins.
2:18:46
I don't think it should go to August because
2:18:50
like when you're in July you don't want
2:18:52
to be sitting and side watching like
2:18:54
sports the whole time. If it's the NBA, if
2:18:56
it's like the conference championship. But I am a
2:18:58
big proponent of starting it like
2:19:01
60 game season started on December 25th.
2:19:03
Remember the year, the lockout year? Yeah. That
2:19:06
was awesome. It was good. Best
2:19:08
schedule. What if it was the NHL that did that? That
2:19:10
way you get to go to hockey games in July.
2:19:12
It's nice and cool in there. Yeah, I just think
2:19:14
that the like July
2:19:16
is very hard to get people to
2:19:18
watch. So yeah.
2:19:22
I think every sport outside of football
2:19:24
should do smaller seasons. Like
2:19:28
60 games in the NHL and the NBA it
2:19:30
feels like it would be you just
2:19:32
have more at stake. MLB
2:19:34
should be like 120. Yeah.
2:19:38
Yeah. Yeah. Because that's really and you
2:19:40
can't do 18 games or 17 games like they do
2:19:42
in the NFL. But that's why the NFL, part of
2:19:44
the reason why the NFL is so
2:19:47
highly rated and so widely popular
2:19:49
is every single week matters. There's
2:19:51
only 17 of them. I
2:19:54
can imagine that. What are the average
2:19:56
like ticket gates for NBA games in
2:19:58
the month of November? Still,
2:20:01
I mean, in big cities, probably still very
2:20:03
deep. They're still making enough money where the
2:20:05
owners will never agree to... Yeah, no, they'll
2:20:07
never shorten it. Because also that's less TV
2:20:09
revenue. True. Like if anything,
2:20:11
they'll probably do more games. Maybe some double headers. Yeah,
2:20:14
double headers. That'd be sick. Double header NBA game
2:20:16
would be awesome. It'd be great. Yeah.
2:20:19
Load management, tips would love some double
2:20:21
headers. Or just have it be like,
2:20:24
have like AAU week, where
2:20:26
it's like every team plays, they
2:20:28
play double headers and also
2:20:31
every single day. Like they do a full
2:20:33
tournament for five days straight. Yeah. Just
2:20:36
knock out 15 games. Yeah, that would rock. That's
2:20:38
what they used to do in UFC too. Yeah. It would
2:20:40
just be like you have to keep fighting this entire weekend.
2:20:42
Yeah. I do think the NBA should... I
2:20:45
actually think one thing the NBA could fix... For
2:20:49
the most of the NBA season, it's what, like three games a
2:20:51
week? Right? If
2:20:53
the NBA should do a consistent...
2:20:57
Call it Tuesday, Friday, or whatever you want to
2:20:59
do, where it's like these are the two days
2:21:01
that everyone plays. So people can start getting their
2:21:03
schedules around it. Where it's like, I don't know
2:21:05
how it would actually work out if there's enough
2:21:07
games. But like if you had an actual day
2:21:09
where it's like, these are the days that are
2:21:11
played, Tuesday, Friday, you know you're going to get
2:21:14
to see like the entire full
2:21:16
slate of NBA. I think that'd be cool. It's
2:21:18
like in football, you know that the games are
2:21:20
going to be on Sunday and then Mondays and
2:21:23
then sometimes Wednesdays and then every Thursday.
2:21:25
And then also some Fridays. Black Friday
2:21:27
and Saturdays too late in the season. They
2:21:29
make it very easy for football fans to know
2:21:32
when the games are on. There's only six
2:21:34
to seven days. Yes.
2:21:36
Except for COVID. There was a Tuesday night. There was
2:21:38
a Tuesday night football. And we have Brazil Friday this
2:21:40
year, week one. Brazil Friday. And
2:21:42
the Black Friday last year. Let's go birds. Yeah.
2:21:45
What was that? Let's go birds. The birds
2:21:47
played Brazil. How do you think the bird season is going to
2:21:50
go this year? Great. Why?
2:21:53
Why do you say it like that? Tough division. Are you worried
2:21:55
at all that? you
2:22:00
got the guy the
2:22:04
word it's too early for you it goes it goes
2:22:06
directly from Embiid season to jail are
2:22:08
you just are you sure oh yeah couldn't be
2:22:10
100% the guy 100% okay 100% Nick Sirianni jail
2:22:15
on her you think he's the guy the Sirianni
2:22:17
could be could be back I'm
2:22:20
pretty confident I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm going
2:22:22
in this season optimistic with Sirianni we got
2:22:24
good coordinators this year didn't have good coordinators
2:22:26
last year we're men this isn't
2:22:29
this is an Eagles talk okay well you you
2:22:31
said go bird you said the Brazil game
2:22:33
no no no Jake said the Brazil game
2:22:35
the booth started the Eagles talk we were
2:22:38
talking about days yeah sorry bird I
2:22:40
was no Jake don't don't apologize that
2:22:42
we're we're having a days conversation and then
2:22:44
and then Max had to insert his birds
2:22:46
into a conversation well you bring up the
2:22:48
birds I got a it's my
2:22:50
god-given right to say go birds it
2:22:53
was very funny Max to the interview what
2:22:56
what's the show's name Barcelona
2:22:58
breakdown Barcelona breakdown those guys are awesome
2:23:00
yet but Max did interview was retelling
2:23:03
coming on part my take and Hank
2:23:05
telling him like hey like this
2:23:07
is gonna work out because you're big Billy guy like
2:23:09
big cat said he wants a big filly guy and
2:23:11
Max said back to Hank like okay but I don't
2:23:14
really know when that's gonna come up
2:23:17
I yeah that that's it happen
2:23:21
what okay uh
2:23:23
let's just show numbers 8 46 20
2:23:27
all the dead heat I
2:23:31
was a dead he'd like big
2:23:33
rock there's a shoe for egg
2:23:35
I mean 18 we're still yeah
2:23:38
no I mean I'm a rider dead heat
2:23:41
who got it you
2:23:45
got it looks like big cats
2:23:47
like alright let's go all right
2:23:49
Shane Shane
2:23:51
99 pug change
2:23:53
engine 21 3 has
2:24:00
a chance to do the funniest thing right now. Let's
2:24:09
go! 46! That's
2:24:12
me. You got it? Yeah. Wait, seriously? Yeah. Oh, I
2:24:14
didn't even hear you said it. You're not even that
2:24:16
excited, Hank. We got it. We got it.
2:24:18
It's easy to do. Good job, Hank. 46,
2:24:21
Jordy, 40. Dude! Really happy for you. It's so fucking
2:24:23
easy to do, right? Max,
2:24:26
did you take anything from that? Like, that was Hank
2:24:29
just showed you how fucking easy this is. I know.
2:24:31
He showed PFD and I it's really easy. No, he
2:24:33
showed you. No, he showed me. Hank,
2:24:36
were you showing me? Yeah, I didn't like that you were reacting
2:24:38
that way. Were you showing me or were you showing Max how
2:24:40
easy it was? I mean, Max is one of those things where
2:24:42
he's just a loser. Right, exactly! It's fun to win in his
2:24:44
face, but it's also like he's never gonna get there. Right, he's
2:24:46
never gonna get it. I have gotten it. You know that he's
2:24:49
never gonna get it. I have gotten it. No, no. No, you
2:24:51
haven't. No, you haven't. I got
2:24:53
it in New York before you did, buddy. Doesn't matter.
2:24:55
I feel like 46 has come up a lot. Easy,
2:24:58
Hank. I just started picking it. Yeah, Hank, that
2:25:00
wasn't even, you didn't even react. It's a good
2:25:02
luck. Let's go. Good luck numbers. Third time.
2:25:04
I'm part of my balls.com. 20 sucks. Hank
2:25:06
is a fucking beast at this. Good work,
2:25:08
Hank. Yeah, Max, just one. PFD.
2:25:11
Hank, real quick, how
2:25:13
did you do that? You
2:25:16
know, uh. How did
2:25:18
you do it? I just, I just picked two numbers that were good
2:25:20
luck, you know. Reminded me of some
2:25:23
friends, and those are their lucky numbers, so I combined
2:25:25
them. Joe Biden? Yeah. And you just, you just said
2:25:27
the number, right? Yeah, 46. And then it. PFT, we
2:25:29
can learn from this. The number came up? It
2:25:32
just popped right up. We can learn from
2:25:34
this. Did you say 46? Yeah, that was impressive. I've
2:25:36
been saying it. Okay. No, that was good. Because I,
2:25:39
like, your reaction has me very confused. Max, you're talking
2:25:41
a lot. I just, it's like I've already won before.
2:25:43
I know. You know, Max, you're talking
2:25:45
a whole lot right now. For
2:25:47
someone who's not mad. I'm
2:25:50
not mad. I'm just, I mean, it's something we
2:25:52
can learn on. Learn from? Learn
2:25:54
from. Learn from. Listen, Max, I don't give
2:25:56
a fuck about the lottery machine. Yeah, me
2:25:58
neither. Again, you're talking
2:26:00
a lot. Jesus Christ, Max. Uh, I don't give
2:26:02
a fuck about it. It's just numbers. It's gonna
2:26:05
happen eventually. It's just statistics for me, so I'm
2:26:07
not concerned at all about it. That's why I'm
2:26:09
not forcing myself to nod my head a lot
2:26:11
and say, yeah, I'm gonna get this. PFT, you're
2:26:14
gonna get this. You're not gonna
2:26:16
get it because you're so nervous about it. You're
2:26:18
gonna psych yourself out. The lottery ball knows. It's
2:26:20
like a dog. They smell the fear. They
2:26:22
don't want anything to do with it. Max hates dogs, too. Right.
2:26:26
That was so good, Hank. Thank you. You're the fucking
2:26:28
man. Thank you. Max. Maybe
2:26:30
wake up tomorrow and be like, how can I be more like
2:26:32
Hank? Well, actually,
2:26:34
no, that wouldn't be waking up. Maybe sleep in tomorrow and
2:26:36
be like, how can I be more like Hank? Love
2:26:39
you guys. I
2:28:00
will take you home

symptoms define me. Emerge as you. In
2:30:23
two clinical studies, Trimphia guselkumab, taken
2:30:25
by injection, provided 90% clearer skin
2:30:28
at 16 weeks in 7 out of 10 adults
2:30:30
with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. In a study,
2:30:32
nearly 7 out of 10 patients with 90% clearer
2:30:34
skin at 16 weeks were still clearer at 5
2:30:37
years. At 1 year
2:30:39
and thereafter, patients and healthcare providers knew that
2:30:41
Trimphia was being used. This may have increased
2:30:43
results. Results may vary. Serious
2:30:45
allergic reactions may occur. Trimphia may increase
2:30:47
your risk of infections and lower your
2:30:49
ability to fight them. Before treatment, your
2:30:51
doctor should check you for infections and
2:30:53
tuberculosis. Tell your doctor if you have
2:30:56
an infection or symptoms of infection including
2:30:58
fever, sweats, chills, muscle aches or cough.
