One part Scrubs, one part St. Elsewhere, and one part Weekend at Bernie's, this show has a youthful energy and a large cast. Lots of storylines and slapstick humor all within an original frame. Bonus: Heartbeat monitor techno opening theme.
Very interesting concept! So far I really enjoy what is happening as well as the ensemble of the chaotic characters. Really looking forward to finding out what is going to happen next!
Such a great and unique way to frame a hospital sitcom! Very funny and I’m curious to see how the story unfolds!
Patient 33 has a creative and strange basis for a show yet thrives as a comedy. Simply put, it's hilarious. It's well produced, well acted (or voice acted), and well written. Speaking of which, it's impressive that each character is given enough spotlight and/or personality to help establish identity with such a large cast. The developing story is intriguing and gives the listener a reason to come back. Give this a download and subscribe now!
I love this original concept with this crazy cast of hospital workers all running around telling us their secrets! The direction and writing of this podcast is also great. Having a big cast is very hard to direct, but Patient 33 does a great job at differentiating and identifying each character. I'm excited to see how the story will connect all their stories together to reveal something wild!!!
Without a doubt, one of the most unique ways to tell a story i've ever come across. The deeply flawed characters and the oppressive atmosphere makes me uncomfortable in the best of ways, sucking me into the narrative and putting me right into the shoes of Patient 33 himself. Great work, you guys
A hospital adjacent-to-sitcom might feel like a bad idea, right? I mean, it worked for part of Scrubs and then they tried that bonus season… anyway, Patient 33 has a distinct take and knows what it is/wants to be. This is what makes a successful entry in the genre. Definitely recommend
Huge props go to this quirky, funny podcast for standing out. Fun premise, wacky writing, bizarre characters conveyed by unashamedly-outlandish voice acting and wonderfully-nonsense plots (secret spaghetti dealings amongst them!).Patient 33 is clearly a low budget production and as such there are drawbacks (sound effects could be more diverse to fully portray the hospital setting, sometimes voice recordings aren't as cleanly produced as possible) but what the show achieves within its limitations is miraculous. Here we have a hospital comedy with a large cast that makes you chuckle.Hoping for a second season - following that cliffhanger, I would love to see how the various events in the plot are revisited from a new point of view.
A comedy in layers: drama and intrigue underpin what is on the surface a very fun and engaging sitcom. Sharp writing, skilled performances, and solid sound design allow the show to deliver the laughs while advancing several plotlines and keeping listeners guessing. What exactly is going on at Hope's Memorial Hospital, and who is the mysterious Patient 33? I'm excited to find out!
