This week we complete our three part series which we've dubbed, Deep Water Exploration. Up this week is Karen!
We suit up one more time to explore the dark waters, where Karen has spent some time. Listen as she explains how she survived some pretty rough waters and emerged stronger for it.
Karen opens up about what it was like growing up in a family where the silent treatment was a way of life. She talks about the blessing of being a proficient reader at a very young age, and the ways in which that may have prevented her from being seen and heard the way she needed to be. Karen gets vulnerable about living with alcoholism and depression, and her continuous recovery journey. Ever the teacher and honest communicator, we hope that you will find some inspiration in Karen's experience, strength, and hope. She has learned to swim confidently through the darkness of the deep water by prioritizing her own wellness, and endeavoring to light the way for others.
