Episode 10 | Malignant Misogyny and Domestic Violence with Advocate Kit Gruelle
Power and Control. It is the intertwined root of Domestic Violence.
Do you know where the most dangerous place for a woman is today? For three (3) out of four (4) women, it is her own home!
For women who suffer at the hands of Domestic Violence abusers, it's not always easy to just pack up and leave the situation. In fact, it is one of the most difficult processes a woman can go through.
In this episode, we talk with Domestic Violence Advocate, Kit Gruelle. As a survivor of domestic violence herself, Kit has worked as a battered women's advocate and community educator for over 35 years and has advocated for over 40,000 women. She was also the Special Advisor and Film Subject in the HBO Emmy-nominated documentary Living in Hell: Private Violence.
Through this discussion, we learn just how much work there is still to do regarding Domestic Violence in the U.S. and some effective steps and strategies we can take right now, today, to demand that women are heard and their abusers are held accountable.
