A conversation with Emalee Smith and her idea for Democracy.

Our ultimate goal with Powerful Conversations: Humanhood is to start conversations. Part of having conversations is sharing ideas. Many of our conversations are shaped around the ideas of democracy and equality and what both currently and should look like.

One thing has become glaringly clear through this process: our representative democracy has reached a tipping point, and the direction that it is tipping is not democratic and nowhere near equal. 

What can we do to change this?

In episode 13, we started the conversation on Restructuring Democracy with Sophie and Taran, two new Gen Z voters. We talked about their take on democracy and what they would like it to look like. Today we speak with Emalee. Emalee is a mom, a writer, a thinker. She shares with us her idea for Restructuring Democracy and why she believes our current system of a representative democracy does not work.
