1:16

1:18

start with a PSN message from yo Oh

1:22

Andy Okay, your

1:24

rare PS. I love you appearance. I like it smells

1:27

good in here With your patreon

1:29

dolls we can help Greg's throat.

1:31

I don't think you can really I know I mean, I

1:34

think you know, this is what it is. This is where

1:36

we got to ride this one out I saw the doctor

1:38

I gave him the copay. I

1:40

guess I'm better than I was then I mean you tell him

1:42

about the page Oh No, I

1:44

should try to get back. You know, I mean He's

1:48

he was on the same road as the

1:50

old studio. Oh So he's

1:52

like, oh, yeah, you do the podcast you the

1:54

thing. Yeah. Yeah. He's like, I'm like,

1:56

yeah Maybe I should come by like yeah, come by anytime you

1:58

want never did You know what I mean? How

2:01

random would that be? It's

2:03

my doctor. And like Greg's doctor walks in,

2:06

he's still in like his doctor gear. My general practitioner

2:08

for violation. Tell us

2:10

all about him. He's been with me ever since. The

2:13

scope's still around his neck. The

2:15

one with the mask and the gloves. Like, who are

2:18

you? I'm Greg's doctor. Can I toss

2:20

his gloves in here? It's not even because

2:22

we're not covered in clothes. It's not like we're that close

2:24

where he's like, oh, I've listened to the show or something

2:26

like that. Like he just knows that we

2:28

have a studio. Weird,

2:30

what are you going to do? Do you want

2:32

your doctor to listen to the show? I think

2:34

it would be too much of an invasion of privacy. I

2:36

mean at this point, the things I talk about on these

2:39

shows and the people who listen to these shows. It's going

2:41

to help him get a better diagnosis. Mental illness. Is

2:44

the law wrong? I

2:46

know that's against the law. You dig

2:48

your doctor's doctor's? I know it's against

2:50

the law, but I still... I'm

2:52

always reminded of the curbereenthusiasm episode where

2:55

Larry David's dentist tells

2:57

everybody that he has really bad cavities in

2:59

Larry David. And word gets around back to

3:01

Larry. He's like, what the fuck? Where

3:04

are you telling people about my teeth? Literally

3:07

last week, I made an appointment with a dentist

3:09

that's like somebody who I know. Like

3:11

somebody that's like in our circles. And I'm like, it

3:14

was my first time getting an appointment with them because

3:16

I've heard good things. And I'm like...

3:19

Oh, you haven't talked to Andy. Oh,

3:21

I have great things to say about our current dentist. I

3:24

don't know if you remember it was like you didn't get the

3:26

personal touch. I remember... Wait,

3:28

do you have the same dentist as Andy? No,

3:31

but I know Andy's dentist. The personal

3:33

touch? Unless I'm thinking of

3:35

maybe it was blessing. Somebody went to the

3:37

dentist that everybody goes to and was like, we

3:39

know each other, but they weren't getting like

3:41

that, you act like you know me. Oh,

3:44

right. Yeah. Okay, gotcha.

3:47

Yes. Oh, okay. That's where I'm

3:49

going. Well, apparently that dentist is going to act like they

3:51

don't know who you are. Well, the reason why

3:53

I'm going with them is because I want the personal

3:56

touch. So are you telling me that there's nothing to do with

3:58

the personal touch? See, I couldn't do it if I went to that dentist that... We

4:00

all know so well I'd be like jokes are about it. You

4:02

know what I mean like they come in I put a bunch

4:04

of pop rocks in my mouth like it. You know my fear

4:06

put a gremlin in there I'm not going to do the dentist

4:12

I've not been to a dentist in a little bit longer

4:14

than I should yeah I know me too and so I'm

4:16

like am I gonna go to them I think we're like

4:18

you'll what the fuck and then they go home They talk

4:20

to their family about it, and then it spreads throughout the

4:22

game that I have bad teeth you listen to this um

4:25

Jeff grub Podcast suddenly comes up. How's Jeff grub? No? Yeah?

4:27

I was like why does he know that I got a

4:29

crown spreads like ginger virus exactly gum disease

4:31

Let's spread the PSN message from yeah

4:33

Remember you can write in to be

4:35

part of the show the thought starter

4:37

over at kind of funny comm slash

4:39

PSI ly just like Tony Did Tony

4:41

Tony Tony wrote in and said what

4:43

is your best handheld gaming memory? Or

4:46

what is the strangest place you have ever played

4:48

a game well since we're on a PlayStation

4:50

podcast Thank you very much for reading between the lines

4:52

on that one my best handheld memory was

4:55

winning a PlayStation Vita from Gio

4:57

Corsi and Greg Miller at the

5:01

PSX on stage thing was mainly Gio

5:03

Corsi handing out little prizes to

5:05

people in the crowd And I want to

5:07

I won my blue PS Vita What's

5:10

that place for 2015 one in that here in SF

5:12

sure was sure was that was the first time you and

5:15

I met and I Still have the Vito. I still have

5:17

it still have the Vita. Well. I need to like get

5:19

cool roms on it Okay,

5:21

you know that's not allowed yeah, that's allegedly

5:23

you wouldn't Yeah, I wouldn't ever do that,

5:25

but also allegedly can you do that you

5:27

can give roms? Oh you can like yeah

5:31

Take a I forget the term they

5:33

use like homebrew or farm to table. Oh yeah,

5:36

I might have done that I'm gonna tend to

5:38

wee back in the day mmm playing everything. It's

5:40

a cool little freaking device I'll tell you what

5:42

I mean make the best looking hardware so I

5:44

make the bed looking hard way What

5:46

about you bless? I mean for me? It's I

5:48

mean it's also the Vita But specifically it was

5:51

playing the Vita Every day on

5:53

the bus on the way to and from work when

5:55

I just freshly moved to Seattle and like I got

5:57

a persona For gold and I think I've told the

5:59

story Like why I love persona four golden so much I

6:01

was new in a city I didn't know

6:03

anybody and I had this long commute and so I'm like

6:05

on the bus every day just playing hella persona four golden

6:08

and Persona four being this game about a

6:10

dude who's new to us new to a city and like

6:12

making friends and all this stuff I was like, oh cool

6:14

I get to like learn about Chie and Yuki co and

6:16

all these I need to make friends here rather than in

6:18

real life I didn't realize yeah, and then eventually make friends

6:20

in real life But yeah for me that was like such

6:22

a special experience. I look I still look back on it

6:24

like oh man That was really cool for

6:27

me. It'll always be peace Walker PSP

6:29

you know what I mean? Like there's so many different

6:31

parts of that of just like, you know Obviously at

6:33

the time I was in charge of the PlayStation the

6:35

PSP channel at IGN you

6:38

know, so I remember then when the

6:40

demo dropped at TGS and I was

6:42

at TGS and so like Not

6:44

only did we broker a deal where we were like

6:46

the American way to get it So I had like

6:48

a PSP page up on IGN that you could go

6:50

to to get the demo and download it It was

6:52

then also that I was playing it and recording footage

6:55

on the show floor of TGS Like

6:57

at the IGN booth so people would just come up and

6:59

watch me play this thing and then you jump to I

7:01

think It was one of my favorite review events of all

7:03

time where I who would watch you play like rent like

7:05

in consumers Oh just walking around the TGS

7:07

show forward come to the IGN booth and then see

7:09

some guy playing Pete Peacewalker Just not

7:11

gonna watch it up somewhere I was like

7:14

I was playing on the PSP and then it was ratted

7:16

out to the Giant double bottle you had to do it

7:18

and then it was routed up to the TV so they

7:20

can make sure it was coming Through fine on that person.

7:22

Yeah, and then the review that was always one

7:25

of my favorite ones because it was so Stupid and

7:27

simple where it was like rather than

7:29

give us the UMDs Konami had us all

7:31

go to they put people up

7:33

But we were local go to this hotel in San Francisco

7:35

for two days And it would be like we would come

7:37

and it was just they took over

7:40

a ballroom And there was all these tables in a

7:42

giant you with PSPs there We would sit

7:44

there and play piece of water for nine hours a

7:46

day, and then people would go home They're like alright

7:48

cool. Whatever. This is what it is. What a full

7:50

court heave by the way from Sony to

7:53

call Them universal

7:55

media discs Nobody

7:59

else ever adopted You know USB was like

8:01

a big one too, but everybody uses USB Yeah, I

8:03

became the standard you umd is not quite no They

8:05

never took off the way you think they expect you

8:07

can't jam of umd inside of microwave or something I'm

8:09

gonna be stand for a universal serial

8:12

bus. Oh, yeah You

8:14

thought he thought you had him. He got you dead. No,

8:16

I was here I didn't know that there was a universal

8:19

you know what USB-C stands for with the scene the universal

8:21

serial bus crab about cuz what

8:23

was the crab out of And

8:31

then yeah, I've smuggled my save out that was illegal

8:33

Oh, I was like I'm gonna I I I done those

8:36

memory card switch when I got there So I

8:38

put my own memory card in and they took it out of her

8:40

I was on top of that so cool. I was gonna give up,

8:42

you know, two days of work on this game That was a portable

8:44

operate there was And

8:47

then you know playing at the bar with people like being

8:49

a complete psychopath stuff I never really done as an adult with

8:52

a portable game Oh, yeah, I'm not to

8:54

go outside the the playstations for your sorry PlayStation

8:56

gears But like putting my gameboy in a ziplock

8:58

bag and playing in the shower because I was

9:00

just so addicted to Pokemon That's crazy. Yeah, that's

9:02

not so do that all the time play

9:04

at church Oh, yeah, you know you

9:07

have that shit in your pocket. Hopefully your parents don't

9:09

see you I'm gonna go to the restroom real quick

9:11

man. I'm just catching mom's man. Damn. That's cool. Did

9:13

yeah Jesus Christ watching over me being like nah, it's

9:16

a fucking raticate Let's

9:23

move on to topic of the show Ladies

9:26

and gentlemen, it's finally happening The

9:28

stellar blade review embargo is up.

9:31

Of course this game from shift

9:33

up published by Sony. Hey Station,

9:36

thanks for sending us review copies. Of course

9:39

FTC. We didn't steal it from a truck out

9:42

October 26th, it has turned quite a

9:44

few heads on the internet and 26

9:48

April when I say August October Way

9:51

out that's soon though thinking about it. I think

9:53

about PlayStation 2 release date. I mean October

9:55

Halloween. Ah April

9:58

26th and of course Yeah,

10:00

a lot of people have been looking forward to a

10:02

lot of people play that demo blessing Andy You

10:04

are both excited to some degree blessing

10:07

how much of it have you played? I have

10:09

finished it. Oh, yeah 27

10:12

hours, okay, okay, and I could have played more

10:14

Yeah, I there's like a lot of side content

10:16

in the game which we'll get to in a

10:18

second But yeah, it was 20 27 hours doing

10:20

a moderate amount of the side content. Okay, anyhow

10:22

much have you played? Zero you played

10:24

a lot of the beta though, right or the

10:26

demo. Oh, yeah, like I yeah played

10:28

I played the demo through where I was like,

10:30

all right, well if you Take

10:34

off her costume the costume

10:36

is the shield So

10:38

let me play through the demo, you know without the

10:41

shield and kind of challenge myself more I played like

10:43

a lot of the video game and really really enjoyed

10:45

myself and I'm looking forward to the final product. Excellent

10:48

Blessing if people don't know what is stellar blade?

10:51

Stellar blade is a new game from shift

10:53

up Which is a new Korean

10:55

studio the game is being published by

10:57

PlayStation as a PlayStation Studios game But

10:59

I guess most straightforward way to describe

11:01

it is it is your typical straightforward

11:04

action RPG that takes some influence

11:07

from like from software and solsy

11:09

solsy type game specifically something like

11:11

Sekiro But then also takes a

11:13

lot of influence from a near

11:16

automata specifically To kind of

11:18

make become its own thing. It's own new IP Now

11:21

that you've done finished it 28 hours in where

11:23

are you on the kind of funny scale on

11:25

the scale? I am at around a 4 out

11:27

of 5. That's what I'll give it. Um,

11:30

I think this game is really really good

11:32

and very fun there are so

11:34

many good things I can talk say about

11:37

it specifically it is very

11:39

refined and It

11:41

knows what it wants to be and nails exactly

11:43

what it wants to be So well, the combat

11:45

system is really fun. One of

11:47

the main things you'd already mentioned how you

11:50

know It is kind of like a near

11:52

meets some solsy elements, right? The parry is

11:54

straight out of a Sekiro, right where it

11:56

is you are pairing multiple

11:58

hits in a row from The more you

12:00

parry the more you might like build up that stagger

12:02

But then also you build up your own meter which

12:04

is called beta and you have these beta abilities that

12:07

you can activate by Pressing one

12:09

of the shoulder buttons and then pressing one of

12:11

the face buttons. Yeah four different beta abilities they can

12:13

use but yeah, like you're doing

12:15

that you have like like

12:17

you more special abilities on top of that that

12:20

you unlock as you go through you have a

12:23

presentation and like a graphic style that

12:25

is very good looking like

12:27

the Play the demo and I think if the game

12:30

is gorgeous. Yeah, like it's a very gorgeous game I

12:32

like a lot of the art direction a lot of

12:34

the art design Especially when you get to a camp

12:36

and the music changes and it is this serene music

12:38

and you have like yo, yeah It's very you know,

12:40

you'd have like the vending machine the selenium that's there

12:42

and like it's so near in those moments Yeah, very

12:44

near automaton. It's very near Tom. It is those moments

12:46

But then you get to the boss fights and it's

12:48

very like souls ish in its boss

12:51

fights Like it's a very different pace I wouldn't describe

12:53

it as a soul's like whatsoever But it has those

12:55

elements to it where the boss fights are difficult, especially

12:57

once you get later into the game They get they

12:59

get very difficult, but they're also like very well fleshed

13:02

out very well designed You have the boss and shows

13:04

that make me like oh man, this is fucking sick.

13:06

Like this is really cool I

13:08

think for me the place where the game

13:10

falters is it is more refined

13:13

than it is Interesting and when

13:15

I say interesting I'm referring more so of like

13:17

what's going on in the story What's going on

13:19

in the world? What's going on that makes this

13:21

game unique? I wouldn't describe this game as

13:24

unique really right like it it is

13:27

so near all the way to a fault

13:29

where The music feels

13:31

so ripped out of near in a way that

13:33

for me I love near automata near Tom It

13:35

is one of my favorite action or

13:38

PGs It is so

13:40

near in those ways a lot of the story

13:42

and the setup and what's going on Like I

13:44

don't want to talk about spoilers I won't get

13:46

too deep into it But a lot of it

13:48

feels very near in those ways again like the

13:50

combat system feels

13:53

like so many other ash games that

13:55

I played and I think

13:57

a lot of it could fall apart

13:59

if it Wasn't so good at emulating

14:02

like that's it's this weird conflicting place that I'm at

14:04

with the game I was gonna say a four out

14:06

of five, you know what I mean? That's great on

14:08

our scale Yeah, and I think for me it's the

14:11

thing of it really it really is refined Like it

14:13

really nails what it's going for But there are just

14:15

those things where I'm like I think if it if

14:18

it felt like more of its own thing It would be such

14:20

an easy five out of five Wow, right? Like if I went

14:22

into this if I came out of this being like all damn

14:24

this is a story I've never experienced before this is a like

14:27

the character design and like the World

14:30

design and all this thing feels like it stands on its own.

14:32

It really brought something new and novel I think it would be

14:34

above and beyond like a five out of five But

14:36

there's so much of it where it feels

14:39

derived from other things that it kind of pears down

14:41

on the identity a bit And I think the

14:44

biggest thing that hampers it in that way is

14:46

the story honestly like I really I didn't really

14:48

get warmed Up to the story until I was very

14:50

late into the game by that time It felt too late

14:52

by that time I'm even calling things that are happening because

14:55

I'm like, okay Well, this person is gonna be this person

14:57

right and they're like there I

14:59

don't have any specific call-offs because again, I want to

15:02

Play there are so many things once you get

15:04

to the end of the game where it's so easy to call everything

15:06

It's about to happen because I've been here before I've played near

15:09

I played Souls or I played devil may cry I know

15:11

what this is driving it story wise It seems like it's

15:13

kind of one of those

15:15

straight to to Netflix movies Like

15:18

a sci-fi Netflix movie that is

15:20

maybe starring like a big star and you're like, I

15:22

don't need to watch this anytime soon but

15:24

if On a random

15:26

day, I'm free. I might cut go ahead and play

15:29

on this movie And that's kind of the vibe that

15:31

I got from it story wise as well. I do

15:33

think it's like super fascinating how we're

15:36

talking about shipped up studios,

15:39

which is a Korean

15:41

developer that's never made anything in this

15:43

space before this is like their first

15:45

I believe they made like a mobile.

15:47

It was yeah super horny mobile game

15:49

a lot of jiggles It's like a

15:51

third-person shooter, but this is likely none

15:53

of that's here. No Moving

15:56

here. No super in their enemy stuff here.

15:58

Um, but I just thought it really fascinating

16:00

because it reminds me a lot of last year's Lies

16:02

of P where Round 8 Studios,

16:04

another Korean developer, their

16:06

first time kind of trying to make a

16:09

really big leap in like, hey,

16:11

here's the other stuff we've worked

16:13

on before. This is like our

16:15

big souls-like or just

16:18

action ARPG attempt

16:20

in this sort of genre. And

16:22

to have two Korean developers both

16:24

dropping in and making a brand

16:26

new- I just thought it was very, very fascinating that

16:29

they not only feel kind of similar to

16:31

me, like I know Sekiro gets thrown around

16:33

a lot, to me this feels like a

16:35

future post-apocalyptic Lies of P. I

16:37

think that's good, yeah. Because of like so

16:39

much of the peri patterns, the way they

16:42

feel, along with the like

16:44

the weapon arts in Lies of P,

16:46

whatever those were called, when you use

16:48

like your cool hand ability, that

16:50

paired along with some of the moves in here

16:53

that get really flashy and cool and you

16:55

know there's really cool action moves

16:57

that can help make the

17:00

combat feel a little bit more exciting. I'm

17:03

excited for it because I don't-

17:05

I wasn't necessarily expecting this mind-blowing

17:08

story, but what I did play

17:10

after playing that first boss in the demo

17:12

and then playing the second boss that was

17:14

made available to you, I was like, dude,

17:16

if all the boss fights can kind of

17:18

keep up the hype here, this

17:20

game's going to be something that I'm not going

17:22

to want to put down because it brought the

17:24

music and the hype in those moments. Do you feel

17:26

like the early boss fights

17:30

and the sort of excitement that those brought, do

17:32

you feel like that kind of you know extend-

17:34

like that experience was mirrored in a lot of

17:36

the other moments that you had with the game?

17:39

Oh for sure, yeah I think for me the

17:41

boss fights were my favorite part of this game,

17:43

where early on you have the boss fights that

17:45

you've experienced in the demo, which are these kind

17:47

of like, it's fucked up beasts that you're fighting.

17:49

I think that stuff evolves in a way as

17:52

you make your way through the game and ways

17:54

are really exciting, really interesting. I will say like

17:56

the the barret right now has the Abaddon, Abaddon,

17:58

I don't know Not this one, but

18:01

the body a bat a batty Boss

18:03

fight from was this the one in the

18:05

demo. This is yeah, this is the first

18:07

one you experience Yeah, aside from the one

18:09

in that didn't really count because you're also

18:11

died of that one anyway. Oh, yeah But

18:15

yeah this one like there are quite a

18:17

few boss fights I emulate sort of like

18:19

this style where it is again like they're

18:21

called a Natee was these like fuck I

18:23

hate that you're fighting. Yeah Yeah,

18:26

like they're gonna say Natee but a billion

18:28

times It's

18:30

an alpha Natee. Yeah, but

18:32

like you're fighting these alpha Natee buzz and they

18:34

are again these fucked up beasts that like

18:36

for me I think those those

18:39

a midway point through the game where I'm like, all

18:41

right I don't know if he's a doing it anymore because

18:43

it is basically variations of what this guy looks like but

18:45

just in different forms There's a turn

18:48

that the game takes with his boss fights where

18:50

it is. Okay now you guys are you guys

18:52

have the stuff here Okay, probably about 60 70

18:54

percent way through the game you start to meet some

18:56

bosses where it's oh, man Okay, y'all designed the fuck

18:58

out of this boss in ways that felt exciting There

19:00

are a few bosses in there too that I was

19:03

even say that like for me struck me as on

19:05

the level of like a YSP Type

19:07

boss, especially when you get to like the end game another

19:10

similarity with Liza P and round 8

19:12

studios like this game looking as gorgeous

19:14

and running as good as it does on Unreal

19:17

Engine 4 being kind of like the

19:20

last hurrah for Unreal Engine 4 Because

19:23

I said that about my to be last year in the in

19:26

UE4 and it looks great and it

19:28

runs really well and It's

19:30

got does it still have those three sort of

19:33

visual modes or it's like frame rate. Yeah,

19:35

they balanced and then Visual

19:38

yeah, they have those I mean I was frame rate

19:40

the entire time I tried to go the opposite

19:43

route of like pure fidelity and I just in this

19:45

because it's not just for this game It's for any

19:47

game right. I hate how choppy it looks when I

19:50

am going like full ray traced fidelity mode The

19:52

bounce one was fine the bounce one was good, but then yeah like

19:54

the whole time I was playing is Playing

19:57

doing frame rate one thing I want

19:59

to talk about from One of the things that you mentioned it

20:02

come they're coming from shift up Which is studio

20:04

coming out of Korea, which the last game they

20:06

made was goddess of victory Nikkei And I know

20:08

Nikkei is like a pretty popular IP

20:10

on mobile But yeah between

20:12

this and lies a pee. I think there are more

20:14

games to come. I think

20:16

that is sort of a growing

20:19

market of Video game development that we're seeing

20:21

more games come out come out of a

20:23

similar thing with China We're saying believe blacksmith

20:26

Wukong come out later this year

20:28

and be another sort of action game That is

20:30

taking inspiration from souls and other just popular action

20:32

games I think that's the thing

20:34

we might start seeing more and more and I think it's

20:36

fascinating because I think you're seeing between this and lies

20:40

a pee sort of a oh, this

20:42

is what like Culturally

20:44

like a lot of people are into right now, right?

20:46

Like not just in the West but in Japan in

20:48

Korea like what you're playing games are seeing a lot

20:51

of these types of games Take over it's I think

20:53

that's maybe where we're seeing like some of the areas

20:55

between lies a pee it is Oh,

20:57

yeah, no, like this is what's hot right now, especially especially

20:59

in this area. I'll talk to a friend about stellar

21:02

blade and he was talking about

21:04

how in seeing in seeing a

21:06

lot of the aspects going on in the game

21:09

like whether it be the character

21:11

design or whether it be like Certain pieces

21:13

of writing or whatever a lot of it

21:15

feels like it can be traced back to

21:17

like just cultural differences Right, like there's been

21:19

this whole culture war going on online about

21:22

Cellar blade in particular and like the character design

21:25

and the characters being high and jiggle physics and

21:27

all this stuff and playing through the game For

21:30

the most part like none of it was as over-the-top as

21:32

I was expecting. I think I mentioned this during like the

21:34

demo Preview that we did where I like

21:37

based on the way the internet talks off solar blade

21:39

I would have thought that I was gonna be just

21:41

so over-the-top Well, it's always the way it was presented,

21:43

right? Sure Yeah, which PlayStation show guys

21:45

or whatever it was really dropped a new thing and

21:47

you made a comment that was like I don't make

21:49

it like one of these games. I gotta try to

21:51

defend. Yeah, I want to play this game This game

21:53

looks great. But now you're starting to show this and

21:55

you're honing in on the wrong things right now Yeah,

21:57

and like it never gets to a point where I'm

21:59

like, oh, this is So crazy egregious. I think the

22:01

biggest thing for me is that I'll say oh, I don't

22:03

know about this Is that there are some outfits where

22:05

you can kind of see the butt cheeks hooking out and

22:08

I was like, oh well I don't necessarily want this on

22:10

my screen the entire time while playing Well, like there's so

22:12

many outfits to where I'm like, oh I like these outfits

22:14

I like a lot of the customization options here and

22:17

it doesn't feel over the top. I do wish that it was a bit

22:19

more Again, like thoughtfully

22:21

designed in terms of character design sometimes where

22:23

sometimes they look cool But then sometimes I'm

22:25

like I don't feel like the personality radiating

22:27

from this character specifically the main character, especially

22:30

I'm like, I'm not really getting much from

22:32

this character in terms of Personality

22:34

character all this stuff. Is it one of those situations? You

22:36

think where it's like an a-loy thing where they want

22:38

you to project on to that character I could see that

22:40

and I could also see other explanations for it But I'm

22:42

like, oh man, I'm playing at this character the whole time

22:45

There's there are times there are scenes where this character

22:47

is meant to emote there are scenes where this character is

22:49

meant to You know feel

22:51

something and you're supposed to feel what's going down I'm

22:53

like I I'm not really getting that

22:55

from the performance like I would those more there

22:58

not the biggest hamper because again, I'm spending most of the time

23:00

in this game focusing on the action and focus in on like

23:03

Exploration and stuff like that and that

23:05

stuff really hits like when it hits right? That's the stuff

23:07

that I'm really into and it works

23:09

for me, um, one of the things

23:11

I want to shout out to is like the How

23:14

the structure of the game is kind of broken up a

23:16

bit where it starts off very linear and like when you

23:18

play the demo You're like, oh, yeah, this is gonna be

23:21

I'm it's gonna be like life's piece and be

23:23

like souls Right. I'm going down these linear paths

23:25

and I'm fighting through shit There come these moments

23:27

where the game Opens up in ways that I

23:29

just wouldn't wouldn't have expected where I am like

23:31

in an open zone I'm doing side quests. There's

23:34

like a point where they're

23:36

just throwing lots of side quests inside Activities at

23:38

you and I was very surprised by that and

23:40

I was also like, oh, this is fucking awesome

23:42

Like this the way that broke up the pace

23:44

and made it feel like okay, cool

23:46

Let me hang back maybe put on a podcast

23:48

or a song and knock this shit out I'll

23:50

surprise by how fun a lot of stuff a

23:52

lot of that stuff was and how well a

23:54

lot of its design like it In

23:57

the way that talking about rise of the Ronin

24:00

when we do that one of the things I mentioned is

24:02

that like you know it coming from

24:04

PlayStation Studios it doesn't feel like a PlayStation

24:06

Studios level game like it never felt like that level

24:08

of polish and that level of prestige and budget and

24:11

all that stuff which is fine but I

24:13

felt that coming from PlayStation Studios. Solid Blade

24:15

I think is closer to the

24:17

mark it still doesn't feel like it's made

24:19

by a Sony Santa Monica or Japan studio

24:21

or whatever it is but I think it

24:25

has a sense of again knowing

24:27

what it wants to be and doing those

24:29

things well it's the

24:31

weird thing when we talk about reviews of you know

24:33

like I can only review it for what it is I can't do

24:35

it for what it's not right and like it

24:37

knows what it is like it knows what it wants to be it

24:39

wants to be near mixed with from

24:42

software elements it wants to be a

24:44

traditional action game and it does so much of that stuff super

24:47

well in ways where I'm like listen I can't knock

24:49

it like I can't I can't I can't sure if

24:51

you're enjoying the experience if it's if it's meeting the

24:53

criteria it's that yeah sure like so my biggest critiques

24:55

are just that like man I could see it I

24:57

could see it being more original

24:59

I can see it maybe doing its

25:02

own thing but again it does so

25:04

much of it's it does so much of what it's

25:06

doing well that I'm like hey like

25:08

I had I had a great time with it

25:10

did you feel a lot of agency in the

25:12

way you were performing combat Liza P gave us

25:15

a lot of freedom in weapon

25:17

customization and I would want to toss in from what I

25:19

saw in the demo right that skill tree looks pretty progressed

25:21

like not progressive extent extensive thank you

25:23

where you could go a bunch of different ways with

25:25

this and stuff like did you feel like you had

25:28

it all unlocked by your credits or did you like

25:30

pick a path to go down it

25:32

definitely is one of those skill trees where

25:34

you're gonna have most of it unlocked especially

25:37

be doing side stuff I think if I did

25:39

all of the side stuff I probably had the

25:42

entire skill tree unlocked by time I

25:44

finished I definitely had most of the skill tree unlocked

25:46

and I think when you're in the combat you

25:48

do have a sense of you do

25:51

have that sense of agency you do have that sense of oh

25:53

this is the style I'm gonna play it's not to the extent

25:55

of a Liza P where you have stats that you're putting into

25:57

certain things and only certain kind of weapons that you want to

25:59

use It's never like that, but

26:01

it's more so in the gear system

26:03

that they have where you have like

26:06

the beta abilities, you have eventually you

26:08

get burst abilities. Those augment chipsets that

26:10

kind of give you more health or

26:12

faster, critical time or whatever the

26:15

hell. Yeah. They

26:17

have a bunch of little add-ons like that. And so based on that stuff, you can really

26:19

curate the way you want to play. For

26:21

a lot of my playthrough, I had on this

26:24

piece of gear that made it so that

26:26

when I would perform combos that were level

26:28

like three or level four combos, they

26:31

do a lot more damage. And so when

26:34

I would get into combat, I'm focusing and I'm trying to

26:36

hit those. Or I would further

26:38

into the game, I am finding all of the gear

26:41

slash like skill tree

26:43

abilities that are making it so that I

26:45

am obtaining beta way faster. And so I'm

26:47

using like the beta abilities. Using the super

26:49

moves faster. Yeah, the super moves. I am

26:51

basically just going for filling in

26:53

that meter and using those as much

26:56

as I can because I found that like those

26:58

beta abilities will stagger the enemies. It'll make you

27:00

feel it'll do a lot of damage. And I

27:02

felt like if I focus in on that, I

27:04

can get an advantage here. But yeah, from looking at

27:06

the skill tree and from just playing, right? Like looking

27:08

through all the gear that you have in the game,

27:11

there's quite a few different ways you can take it.

27:13

But yeah, like it's I think it's basically

27:15

about finding like what in the

27:17

combat system feels fun for you and kind of going

27:19

going down that route. Did you ever? Is

27:22

there another weapon or is that just

27:24

that's the main blade? That's just the main blade. Okay. Gotcha.

27:28

Yeah. That's one thing I was wondering

27:30

like, do you ever get a heavier type of,

27:33

you know, maybe just a small dagger at one point

27:35

or like a big heavy bludgeoning weapon. But

27:37

I kind of figured that was going to be the

27:40

main one based on all the visuals

27:42

in any of the trailers that we saw. When

27:45

you mentioned that the world opens up quite a bit near

27:47

like you said, like 60 to 70%

27:50

of the way through. I was thinking earlier than that. I was wondering

27:52

like, when was that? When am I going

27:54

to experience that? You know, because I know obviously the

27:56

demo is very limited, but in the trailers, we saw

27:58

a lot of moments of random NPC. He's being

28:00

like, hey, you know, I need

28:03

help with whatever the hell and I was wondering like

28:05

I don't Get away and help me stab this dude!

28:07

I was like, I don't know where I can help

28:09

this New York man stab

28:11

somebody like I don't I don't really see where that would

28:14

present itself in the game But you're saying that there are

28:16

some areas that kind of lend itself to those opportunities Yeah,

28:18

and it happens even earlier than that. I would say probably

28:20

about 30%

28:22

of the way through you had a moment in the

28:24

game where it is All right, like go

28:26

around talk to people go to this

28:28

open world area Take like

28:31

knock knock out just a bunch of side quests

28:34

Yeah, that happens around 30% of the way in and

28:36

then like the instruction a very interesting way because yeah

28:38

You start off very linear get to this open area

28:40

do as much of it as you want You don't

28:42

have to do any of it Like you can just

28:44

go on to the next story mission and once you

28:46

do you're kind of locked back into that linear path

28:49

For a while like and this is probably like another

28:51

30% of the way through the game and then it

28:53

puts you back into Alright shit is open up

28:55

again. Do what you want? and Like

28:58

the open areas like the the side stuff I

29:01

found to be like a nice change

29:03

of pace It's not the best side quest in

29:05

fact a lot of side quest remind me of New York Tom It as

29:07

well where it is like, all right You have

29:09

this open wasteland area where there's not much

29:11

going on Yeah, it's in the easy. It's

29:13

five of these. Yeah, like who collects a

29:15

bunch of shit or like find a little robot

29:17

guy That's like I love finding robot guys.

29:19

Yeah, like there's quite a few little robot

29:21

guys That's like similar to

29:24

Adam how Adams like voices in that Your

29:27

homie Adam is in the road. Yeah. Yeah, like similar

29:29

sort of similar to that Like not the exact same

29:31

kind of robot but similar sort of idea and

29:34

so yeah, like you're doing that and

29:37

then there's like a Board

29:39

like a request board that you can go down

29:42

that people are like, hey do this There's what

29:44

there's one request that is hey go to

29:46

this panel where like you input a password

29:48

and like figure out this equation And

29:51

I was like, oh snap. Okay, cool. And it is

29:53

like just always one of those pattern puzzles of we'll

29:55

give you Four different numbers

29:57

and you got to figure out like in the fourth

29:59

number What's the pattern so you can fill in the

30:01

blank? Okay. And I did the first one,

30:03

I'm like, okay cool, math puzzle, alright. And then I come

30:05

back around another time, like once I get further in the

30:08

game, and there's another request that is the

30:10

same guy that's like, alright, you figured out the first one, now

30:12

figure out this one. And I look at it, I was like,

30:14

this is fucking crazy. Like, this is a crazy

30:16

math problem. And I ended up just typing it

30:18

on Google and found somebody on Reddit asking the

30:20

exact same one, and I was like, bet. I

30:22

just took the answer and put it in. But

30:25

yeah, it's like a lot of just random shit

30:27

going on in like the side quests that I

30:29

found, again, enjoyable, not like the best writing

30:31

in it, but. Yeah, but better than rinse and repeat,

30:33

I would guess, right? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, if they're actually

30:35

giving you, alright, this isn't the coolest thing, but it's

30:37

better, it's different. Was there anything that

30:39

did surprise you that was unexpected? And I

30:41

keep using LizaPZ example, but there were a

30:44

lot of moments in there where I was

30:46

expecting it to be a super straightforward

30:48

experience. Walk through the

30:50

levels, fight the boss, walk through the levels, fight the boss.

30:53

And I was always kind of impressed

30:55

by like, should

30:57

I tell the truth here in this moment? And

31:00

also finding an item that is like, oh, this is

31:02

a little treasure hunt. It's telling me to go back

31:05

to this level and walk through

31:07

this door. Oh shit, there's another

31:09

hunter there or whatever. And it, you know, they would want

31:11

to fight or they'd have a little line of dialogue there with

31:13

you. Was there anything kind of that you ran

31:15

into in this game being like, oh shit, it wasn't expecting that,

31:17

but that was really awesome. I think

31:20

like some of the later like story

31:22

reveals had, had some of that where

31:24

it is. Oh, optional type things. Not

31:26

really, like not optional. I think I could

31:29

see maybe some of the side quests

31:32

having that. If again, if I'm clearing out all the side

31:34

quests, which I didn't do again, I did probably like 30

31:36

to 40% of them. But

31:39

in the ones that I did, there wasn't anything that

31:41

was too out there, but I wouldn't be surprised if

31:43

there's like maybe a couple that are, oh yeah, there's

31:45

like this really secretive thing that's going on. There's some

31:48

boss fights that I got into during some side

31:50

quests or some like, I guess there

31:52

are some discoveries that the character makes of you do

31:54

a side quest and you find out that shit went wrong

31:56

and you have to report that back to the person.

31:58

But he usually ends with. Okay, well now

32:01

just go before this back to the person It doesn't

32:03

really give you an option of not chase down this

32:05

thing or like do another thing. It's usually Those

32:08

side quests don't usually have choices to them.

32:11

Mmm Indeed yeah,

32:13

that buzzed me up because I anything

32:16

that's optional that can blow my mind Your

32:19

game gets so many, you know

32:21

extra bonus points for me because I I

35:11

can't escape it. You know what I mean? That means I can

35:13

say bad words afterwards. Fuck. Bless,

35:18

Craig. You talked about cultural

35:20

differences when you're talking about this game.

35:23

You talked about the jiggles and the

35:25

internet and the reactions to it and everything. I say

35:27

you said it wasn't anything outrageous or

35:29

whatever on that front or whatever, but there's things

35:31

both of you have found in this game that

35:34

during the review period, you were doing demo period,

35:36

I guess. Yeah, I was streaming this and

35:39

I just kind of noticed it and didn't

35:41

think anything of it. Haha, little funny,

35:44

silly jokes. Even intentional. But then I

35:46

guess what blessing saw made me think

35:48

like, oh, well maybe the thing blessing

35:50

saw was actually intentional. So start

35:52

with the less egregious. Andy, what did you find

35:54

in this game? Well, it's no secret that a

35:56

lot of game developers will put in little Easter

35:58

eggs and just a little funny goofs in

36:00

the world and when you're walking

36:03

around there's a sign in the distance

36:05

that spells it looks like a

36:07

sign that's kind of been broken down and

36:09

maybe missing a couple letters but it spells

36:11

out boob or booby which

36:14

whatever that's silly it

36:17

looks like there's a missing letter in the

36:19

middle but that seems kind of intentional and

36:22

I just thought that that was kind of funny. I mean they

36:24

know the game they're making they know the suit you're wearing right

36:26

now. And so I

36:28

didn't think much of it I just thought it was kind of silly

36:30

and then I saw the blessing post something

36:32

in our slack and I was like oh

36:35

maybe maybe I was kind of

36:37

onto something with just the little booby thing.

36:40

Yeah so the thing I came across this is

36:42

when you get to like more of the open

36:44

area but this is an area this is like

36:46

a segment of the game that mostly

36:49

everybody is going to discover

36:51

on the wall they have

36:53

like graffiti and then they

36:55

have a sign that's like pointing to

36:57

the request shop and the graffiti on

37:00

the wall says hard and the

37:02

sign right next to it says R and so

37:04

like we look at it very obviously it says

37:06

hard R and I saw that and I

37:08

screenshotted it I was like what the fuck is going on here

37:10

like why the fuck is this in

37:13

the in the game but yeah I sent it to

37:15

the flag and I was like this is it at

37:17

first I was like am I the crazy one and

37:19

then I saw the slack responses and I'm like okay

37:21

thank god I'm not the crazy one like everybody else

37:23

is saying this but it was one of those ones

37:25

where for me was two things right one I was

37:27

like okay well I'm gonna keep an eye on now

37:29

for like any other sort of thing like this in

37:31

the game and I couldn't find anything aside from what

37:33

Andy was talking about with the booby thing

37:36

but I also did see like a lot

37:38

of other hard graffiti

37:41

but like not no art next to it

37:43

right it's like it's like hard graffiti stone

37:45

all over the place and so you

37:47

mean like that same image that same image yeah okay

37:49

that's same like yeah asset and so it's one of

37:51

those things where I don't know what to make of

37:54

it because I think it could be a number of

37:56

things I think one it could

37:58

be one of the dabs in the

38:00

building is like having fun and they're

38:02

like, oh, let me put a, let me put a gag in

38:04

here. But it was like, not, it

38:06

was one of those ones where I think usually would be hidden

38:08

and just is not hidden whatsoever. And so you see it and

38:10

you're like, what the fuck is going on here? It could

38:13

be a, like, it's hard to

38:15

make an accusation based on, like

38:17

I don't have any concrete proof of this, but what

38:20

if it's AI, right? Like, is this a

38:22

thing where they're like, procedural sort of thing?

38:24

Yeah, like it's a procedural thing where nobody

38:26

noticed this or made it. This is the

38:28

thing that was created by itself. Three,

38:31

we have the new story a

38:33

few weeks ago about deck nine and how like there

38:35

was back and forth in the studio about like people

38:37

putting in racist dog whistles and shit like that. Like

38:39

is it one of those? But I also know like

38:42

this is a game developed at shift up, which is

38:44

a Korean studio. Like culturally, I don't

38:46

know if there are people that are like, oh yeah,

38:48

like that's funny. It's like, I don't think that matches

38:50

up. So it's that weird thing where you don't

38:52

know what to make of it. Do these

38:54

Korean game devs, are

38:57

they even aware of hard R being

38:59

a thing? Is this a localization thing?

39:01

If somebody has a localization team, that's

39:03

like, oh, this is funny. And not

39:05

to give anybody like, you know, too

39:08

much credit here, you know, room

39:10

for mistakes or whatever. But if it is just

39:12

that the hard graffiti is up all over the

39:14

place, at some point I'm sure as a dev,

39:16

it becomes white noise. Yeah. Like you're talking about

39:18

procedural, right? It's just like, okay, it's up, it's

39:20

up, it's up. And I'm assuming the

39:23

R shop, that logo is often

39:25

used in the game. No, that's the

39:27

only time that's the only spot that

39:29

you have that shop at. Yeah. For

39:32

Audible, the letter R in this case

39:34

is like the only letter

39:36

left up from a sign that probably

39:38

existed there where like the R is,

39:41

it's hardware. It's like a neon sort

39:43

of a little structure on the wall.

39:45

And it looks like maybe

39:47

there was other letters there making a word that

39:49

ends with the word R. But yeah, I don't

39:51

know. So it's a really weird one. I was

39:53

talking to some other people that were reviewing the

39:56

game and like they had reached out to PlayStation

39:58

and the word is that it's being removed. by

40:00

the time the game comes out for everybody like they're

40:02

taking it out. Um, but

40:04

yeah, it's a very bizarre one where it's like, what

40:07

the fuck? I don't know what to do with this. Yeah, and it

40:09

like, it'd be, I mean, it wouldn't be one thing, right? But like,

40:11

it'd be one thing if it was a hidden

40:13

thing, right? I found it like under a table in

40:15

the game or some shit. It's like, it's like, oh,

40:17

this is very much not meant to be seen. And

40:19

you find it and you're like, all right, who the

40:21

fuck did this? But it is displayed like it is

40:23

a spot that you go to win the game that

40:25

99% of people playing this game

40:27

would have passed by that spot. And I'm surprised

40:30

that, yeah, nobody caught that on the team or

40:32

nobody had something to say on it. Again, like

40:34

maybe it's a localization thing. But

40:37

yeah, I thought that was good to know that there wasn't

40:39

more because again, just watching Slack and seeing Andy's thing and

40:41

this thing, it's like, oh, is this

40:43

going to be a game with has a bunch of weird

40:45

shit packed into the back walls or they're making some weird

40:47

statements? Yeah, it seems like that's not the case. Yeah. And

40:49

it's weird when it's on top of again, the already

40:52

weird place that this game is in when you

40:54

look at the Internet and people are fighting about,

40:56

oh, man, but like protagonist is hot

40:58

and jiggle physics and all this stuff. Right. Like it's

41:00

already finding itself in those conversations in ways that I

41:03

think in a lot of ways

41:05

are unfair. In some ways I can see how it

41:07

gets through to those conversations. But yeah, I think that's

41:09

going to be another one that's put

41:11

on the pile of like, oh, yeah, let's get

41:13

into the fights about like what this game

41:15

means for us. Or, you know, like what kind of game

41:18

wants to be in all this shit? But

41:20

yeah, like I didn't find anything else like that in the

41:22

game. I found a lot of the hard graffiti, which every

41:24

single time I saw the hard graffiti, I was like, dude,

41:27

if that was an accident, it's actually really funny seeing a

41:29

lot more hard graffiti because it feels like you are putting

41:31

this everywhere. And

41:33

graffiti artists is going everywhere. It's like,

41:35

it's my only trick. Die hard. I

41:38

do hard really well. Not

41:40

even different colors. Yeah. I mean, speaking of graffiti, though, there's

41:42

also a lot of yellow paint. I know people like the

41:44

yellow paint discourse. There's a lot of yellow paint. Yeah. But

41:46

it's not. It's like for where to grab. For like, yeah,

41:48

where to grab, where to go. All that shit. If you're

41:50

somebody that's annoyed by yellow paint, there's a lot of that

41:52

here. You shouldn't be annoyed by it. I feel like that's

41:54

a that's more of a drummed

41:57

up internet comment than anything else. And I don't know

41:59

many people. fucking god damn you

42:01

games and that is never new yeah

42:03

exactly exactly so Andy everything

42:05

what's saying works for you you're gonna invest

42:07

in so absolutely yeah I mean especially have

42:09

I think the demo was such a great

42:11

encapsulation of what the game can

42:14

be and I'm

42:16

super into that vibe and I

42:19

think mainly knowing that I wasn't expecting

42:21

to be blown away story wise anyway yeah

42:23

but I just really loved the

42:26

the hype and excitement that those boss fights brought

42:28

kind of reminded me of like why I loved

42:31

playing Final Fantasy 16 so much was like not only

42:33

was I super into those characters in the world but

42:36

the way that the music kind of swells in

42:38

certain moments when you hit the third phase of

42:40

the boss or whatever I'm just

42:42

super into that sort of

42:44

like feeling and feeling that adrenaline pumping

42:46

when you have one you

42:48

know a little tick of life left and so does

42:50

the boss I enjoyed those moments quite a bit I'm

42:53

super into it I'm soaked I'm ready for it bless

42:55

you've talked about the things it's trying to emulate

42:57

so much and so to wrap this conversation up

42:59

you know talking about a lies of P or

43:01

near do you think it's

43:03

going to find that kind of audience like both

43:06

of those games I mean I

43:08

always say cult classics right like near is

43:10

beloved by that audience and even lies of

43:12

P smaller I would say the near

43:14

right but also beloved yeah I mean I

43:16

don't know if it's going to hit on

43:18

the same levels like but lies of P I

43:21

gave a 5 out of 5 near automa if

43:23

it came out today I would give a 6

43:25

out of 5 I think near automa is such

43:27

an excellent game I think this is the one

43:29

that's going to hit with the people that liked

43:31

those but maybe not necessarily be on the same

43:33

pedestal as those okay like I think this is

43:35

the ultimate fans of the genre type game where

43:37

I don't know if I'd recommend this game to

43:39

I don't know like I don't know Greg if you're

43:41

gonna be somebody who's like fucking let me get in there

43:43

and play I played the demo I respected what it was

43:46

but I was like I don't want to play more of

43:48

this yeah but like for me again I play I really

43:51

enjoyed my time with this game being somebody who already

43:53

enjoys near being somebody who already enjoys lies of P

43:55

like if you're somebody in that camp and you're looking

43:57

for another one another one of those I think is

43:59

the perfect hand You know I think is

44:01

one that people are going to like a lot I think

44:03

this is one that people are going to talk about for

44:05

for a little bit for How fun

44:07

it is and how good the boss fights are and I think

44:09

it's gonna find communities within those communities I don't know if it's

44:11

gonna have Break out success,

44:14

you know, I'm curious to see if they make another one

44:16

It may be celebrate to is the one that does

44:18

that gotcha But I think yeah this one I would

44:20

describe as the ultimate if you're a

44:22

fan of action RPGs You're

44:24

gonna like this especially like the actiony side of action

44:27

RPGs. Yeah action game side of it. Yeah, okay great

44:29

Bless me. Thank you so much. Thanks for having me.

44:31

Good job. Pleasure having you. I'm always happy to have

44:33

you here It's time for this week

44:35

in PlayStation and usually I let you leave it off

44:37

blessed But you've been talking non-stop so I'll toss out

44:39

this one, especially because we have Andy here Someone

44:42

who's crossed party lines Andy,

44:44

of course a filthy PC gamer. He's tried

44:47

to steal blessing several times. I'm gonna talk

44:49

about how successful is that we're talking about

44:51

I'm successful. I want to know any rolling

44:53

down Yeah, this Sony's new PlayStation PC overlay

44:56

with shared trophies make you care anymore about

44:58

trophies. This is Tom Warren of the Verge

45:00

I'm just grabbing two paragraphs Sony is introducing

45:02

a new PlayStation PC overlay and shared trophies

45:05

with its upcoming release of ghost of Susie

45:07

mode directors cut on May 16th, it's the

45:09

first PlayStation game for PC that uses Sony's

45:12

new PlayStation overlay Which much like the seem

45:14

overlay will provide access to your friend list

45:16

trophy settings and in your PlayStation account To

45:19

get access to the trophies friend list and all

45:21

that stuff You have to sign in of course

45:23

with your PlayStation Network credentials It's optional which Tom

45:25

writes is good news if you're tired of too

45:28

many overlays Andy hey, are

45:30

you gonna log into your PSN at all? I think For

45:33

ghost? Yeah, okay. So maybe

45:36

I think one thing that I'm discovering about

45:38

myself in terms of the

45:41

trophy enjoyment and

45:43

engagement Yeah, you're speaking my language out is

45:45

that? Like I'm never gonna

45:47

be hunting these things down but

45:49

one of the main reasons why I

45:53

Enjoy popping a trophy or like a

45:55

steam achievement or an Xbox achievement is

45:58

feeling the authorship of

46:01

the developer behind it and feeling

46:03

like, oh, they see this as

46:05

something important. They saw

46:08

whatever I just did as a reason

46:11

to reward me. And

46:13

recently, I was playing a

46:15

game that I can't mention, but

46:18

I popped an achievement for like, I

46:20

think, listen. No, you know what it was?

46:23

Oh, I know what it was. It was Kill

46:25

It With Fire 2. Game and I have voice in

46:27

it. Two voices. Thank you,

46:29

everybody. There was a

46:32

little silly part of the game where

46:36

you're being explained sort of the rules and

46:38

you have to sign this really, really long

46:40

agreement. And you could just skip and

46:43

sign the contract, or

46:46

you can read the terms. And

46:48

I wanted to read all the terms because a

46:50

buddy of mine made the game Casey Denellen. And

46:52

I was like, oh, let me just read this.

46:55

Oh, Salivir Neset. Nelson was also one of the

46:57

writers and voices on it. And so

46:59

I'm reading through all the terms. And I get

47:01

to all of these eight pages of terms. And

47:03

it's all just very contractual malarkey. And

47:06

I get to the end of it. And I was like, good use of malarkey. Oh,

47:09

malarkey? I can't do a joke about it. Anyway,

47:11

I see a little achievement pop up. And it's

47:13

like, you read all the terms and

47:15

conditions. I was like, oh, that's kind of neat. I

47:18

like feeling the developer's intentions

47:20

behind whatever I achieve. I'm never

47:22

really hunting these things out. But

47:26

for Ghost, I feel like a lot of those I

47:29

experienced anyway on PlayStation. But

47:31

yeah, I'm going to want to try this out just to

47:33

see how it looks and how the UI operates. I

47:38

love whenever there's a new update to UI, whenever

47:40

there's a brand new sort of visual

47:42

thing that I can kind of enjoy

47:45

and see how the menus

47:47

look and stuff. Like, I'm such a nerd for that shit.

47:49

So yeah, I'm going to pop this up. Am I going

47:51

to care about the second

47:53

time when this is, you

47:56

know, whenever the next game comes out with

47:58

this PlayStation? Overlaying

48:00

probably not but I'm gonna be curious

48:02

enough to check it out the first

48:04

time That's where it gets interesting

48:06

where of course I have limited free time to begin

48:08

with these days, but When

48:11

they keep doing this with future PlayStation stuff when

48:13

they start putting out Spider-man

48:16

2 with this it's like well Why

48:19

wouldn't I want to play spider-man 2 again and give another platinum

48:21

trophy? You know what I mean? Like why wouldn't I wait another

48:23

one right? It would this be a new skew. Yeah, I think

48:26

you'd have to This is a conversation we're having on KFC when

48:28

this broke is I think you're

48:30

just gonna earn your PS5 trophies aren't

48:32

you like? Are they

48:34

gonna make PC specific trophies? I

48:36

think it would be a new trophy list I think that's how

48:38

it would be it's not that they're gonna make new trophy ring

48:40

up the word in new ski Yeah, cuz those wording in there

48:42

that was like Shared

48:44

PS or not shared. No, I think

48:46

what we discovered was that like well

48:49

what I learned. Yeah, it was Yeah,

48:52

I think we discovered that they were all different

48:55

Trophy lists were they not while playing

48:57

the game you can earn PlayStation trophies Just like

48:59

on PlayStation consoles period goes to sushi with a

49:01

director's cut on PC shares the same trophy set

49:04

as the game on PlayStation 5 console there's an

49:06

asterisk. What is the asterisk? Asterisk

49:10

asterisk Users who

49:12

connect their existing account for PlayStation Network and unlocked

49:14

trophies on goes to shoot seem a director's cut

49:16

using the same account on PS5 We'll have the

49:19

same trophies unlocked on the PC version So this

49:21

is totally fucking worthless and garbage to me fuck

49:23

off. Yeah, exactly we talked about I

49:32

Love that you immediately jumped out. Oh, yeah, I'm

49:34

gonna earn an entirely new set of trophies Well,

49:37

they put another one of course you like when I get a

49:39

PS5 version and a PS4 version Oh

49:41

man, that was a PC version suck cuz like

49:43

in an ideal world. We didn't read any of

49:45

that right there We didn't like clarify anything I

49:48

know blessing and I already clarified it but you

49:50

49:52

49:54
