HAPPY DECEMBER THE 1ST!

This is a quite frankly ridiculous idea I had to release a series of short vocal warm up episodes of MADSASS at 12:01 daily as an advent calendar from Dec 1 thusly cleverly(?) titled MADVENT.

MY AMAZING PATREONS have had some MODERN AUDIO DRAMA SPEECH AND SPEAKING SESSIONS already, and some of these eps are an amalgam of exercises from those. I have learnt these exercises over 20 plus years of drama teaching and being involved in various theatrical troops, voice acting workshops and general acting workshops. They are hopefully useful to pop on and warm up with before doing your audio drama voice acting - after of course the important imbibing of water and general looking after yourself and your wellbeing of course.

I also asked a variety of audio drama chums to impart some voice acting advice - today its from the wonderful JULIE HOVERSON of 19 NOCTURNE BOULEVARD whose works can be found here. Thanks Julie!

And thanks to Haydn Davis and Kathy Lye for this weeks' tongue twister suggestion. Obvs do not do it like what I did...:)

Welcome to ...MADSASS ...an ADVENT CALENDAR of vocal warm ups for you voice actors to enjoy! Oh...MADSASS and advent - (GASP!) MADVENT! I need to rebrand! Never mind. MADVENNNT!

Let us start off with just massaging your faaaaaace.

Put your hand flat and...and just massage first of all your ...your cheeks, both at the same time....and around your eyes. Little circles ....tiny little circles just going round and round gently...massaging your face....down to your chin...and your jaw line....beautiful.

Now, Let’s try some sounds shall we?
