Hey, I'm Ryan Reynolds. Recently, I asked

0:02

Mint Mobile's legal team if big wireless

0:04

companies are allowed to raise prices due

0:06

to inflation. They said yes. And then

0:09

when I asked if raising prices technically

0:11

violates those onerous two-year contracts, they said,

0:13

what the f*** are you talking about,

0:15

you insane Hollywood a*****e? So to

0:17

recap, we're cutting the price of Mint Unlimited from $30 a

0:19

month to just $15 a month. Give

0:22

it a try at mintmobile.com/switch. $45

0:25

up front for three months plus taxes and fees. Promote for new

0:27

customers for limited time. Unlimited more than 40 gigabytes per month. Mint

0:29

Unlimited slows. Hello!

0:58

I'm back to episodes three hundred and Forty. Seven.

1:11

I'm want to start by saying my mom and

1:13

I are quite in tune with the spiritual world.

1:16

My. Mother more than I. When.

1:19

I was a young teenager. My parents

1:21

bought two point five acres of land

1:23

in Australia to build their forever home.

1:27

On the block was a long white

1:29

section that we called the cricket pitch

1:31

due to it's resemblance. Nothing.

1:33

Grew on this pitch. And there

1:35

was always an uneasy feeling when standing on

1:38

top. A. Couple

1:40

of years later we moved into the home and

1:42

that's when it all began. It.

1:44

Started with Cobra door slamming in the

1:46

kitchen. But. It soon it turned

1:48

for the worse. There.

1:51

Was a glass panel door that separated the

1:53

lounge room to the whole way with all

1:55

the bedrooms. My. Sister

1:57

had a daughter around the age of

1:59

two. My. Dad, a full

2:01

blown skeptic, Had an experience while he was

2:03

sitting in the lounge room watching Tv late

2:06

one night when he saw us a hand

2:08

have a child. Reach across to open

2:10

the door. He blew

2:12

it all thinking it was my niece. But.

2:15

Because she was so little, she couldn't reach the

2:17

door handle. Would.

2:19

Might my sister and her now husband were

2:21

asleep. When. He woke up complaining to my

2:24

sister to get off him. It was so heavy on

2:26

his chest and he couldn't breathe. When. My

2:28

sister woke to him, she realized something

2:30

was painting her down by the ankles

2:32

also. I am

2:34

a type one diabetic. One.

2:36

Night I woke in the middle of the night having

2:38

a hypo. A. Dot off my

2:40

bed and went to my fridge that sat

2:43

next to it where it house my medication

2:45

and some sugar for nice my face. It.

2:48

Was a shiny stainless steel buyer

2:50

fridge. I grabbed out

2:52

some lollies close. The. Freight and sit in front

2:54

of it. After a

2:56

second realizing there was a shadow reflecting in

2:58

my. Fridge. My. Air con light

3:01

emitted enough like to show a shadow. I

3:03

suspect. In a fright

3:05

I jumped back and turned around, not noticing

3:07

anyone there. whenever.

3:09

I felt uneasy their I would call from my granny

3:11

who had passed away when I. Was very little.

3:14

She. Always keeps me safe when I needed her.

3:18

It took awhile for my mom to tell me

3:20

this due to my age and knowing that I

3:22

have similar capabilities as her. She.

3:25

Was a parody one morning and in the Rumpus room.

3:27

She. Stopped dead in her path as a tall

3:30

black shadow was in front of her on

3:32

the other side of the room. She.

3:34

Started politely asking it to move on

3:36

on that it has no place here.

3:39

He. Didn't listen. A.

3:41

Bigger and get closer. And closer to her.

3:44

She screamed at a turning it enough to

3:47

come any closer and used all of her

3:49

energy to do so. It

3:51

eventually disappeared, but not before making her

3:53

feel frightened and on welcome. my

3:56

niece would always say the she was playing with her

3:58

friend when no one was there One

4:00

of the spirits would also visit her in her room

4:02

at night, and we would often wake

4:05

to her screaming and crying, taking a long time

4:07

to settle her. I

4:10

always felt like you were being watched every minute you

4:12

were in that house, and never felt

4:14

comfortable leaving my back vulnerable. As

4:17

I got older and moved out, I would

4:19

always, and to this day, 17 years later,

4:21

dream about a maid in that house choking

4:24

me and warning me never to return. My

4:27

family does not live there anymore. I

4:30

spoke to my mum recently about it and

4:33

explained what I felt was the spirit that

4:35

lived there. It was

4:37

a husband and wife and a little girl around eight

4:39

years old. The mother and

4:41

daughter wore white dresses and the father was in

4:44

a tux. But there

4:46

was another member. Back

4:48

in this era, Aboriginal people were slaves,

4:51

and I believe this slave and the mother may

4:53

have fallen for each other and it was the

4:55

angry father disrupting the family. When

4:58

I explained this to my mum, she said she had the

5:00

same vision. But here's

5:02

the twist. When I

5:04

met my now husband, his parents lived in

5:06

the house across the road with three acres

5:09

separating the houses. To this day,

5:11

when I visit my mother and father-in-law's house, I

5:13

feel the presence of another woman dressed in the

5:15

same clothes. This woman

5:17

seems harmless, but I can't help

5:19

but feel uneasy, even with her. I do

5:22

not blame you for feeling uneasy, to be honest. It

5:24

always fascinates me in stories when people are like, you

5:26

know, I have this ghost in the house, but it's

5:28

fine. Like, she doesn't make me feel uncomfortable or he

5:30

doesn't make me feel uncomfortable or whatever. And I'm like,

5:32

how? How do

5:34

you not feel uneasy or uncomfortable

5:37

in this situation? The vision of

5:39

your dad, like, sitting, watching

5:41

TV and seeing

5:43

the hand of a child

5:45

reach out to open the

5:47

door is absolutely traumatizing. That

5:49

is horrendous. I do think it's

5:52

lovely that you've always been able to call

5:55

on your grandmother who passed away to Look

5:58

after you in times where you're feeling... Scared

6:00

or anxious? or if there's something else

6:02

in the room with. You I wonder what

6:04

it is about certain spirit and certain entities etc

6:06

that only seem to be able to appear in

6:09

like shadow form. Yeah,

6:12

I will never understand the Spirit World how great

6:14

is or mundo to be able to stand her

6:16

ground and be like know I'm politely ask you

6:18

to leave. Okay, you're not listening. Well then I'm

6:21

going to aggressively ask you to leave. It must

6:23

be such a terrifying thing to be able to

6:25

interact with the spirit world. I opened a gift

6:27

I would not welcome and it's so fascinating that

6:29

you in your mom had the same vision. I

6:32

wonder if there's a way of looking up like

6:34

who had lived on the land beforehand? To.

6:36

See if there's any any truth in there in

6:38

division that you and your mom has. Hey,

6:44

I'm Ryan Reynolds. At Mint Mobile, we like

6:46

to do the opposite of what Big Wireless

6:48

does. They charge you a lot, we charge

6:50

you a little. So naturally, when they announced

6:52

they'd be raising their prices due to inflation,

6:54

we decided to deflate our prices due to

6:56

not hating you. That's right! We're cutting the

6:59

price of Mint Unlimited from $30 a month

7:01

to just $15 a month. Give

7:04

it a try at mintmobile.com. $45

7:08

up front for 3 months plus taxes and fees. Promote it for

7:10

new customers for limited time. Unlimited more than 40GB per month. Slows.

7:12

Full terms at mintmobile.com. Ever catch

7:14

yourself even the same level as dinner

7:16

three days in a row? Three minutes

7:18

them then? Well Hello Fresh is your

7:20

guilt free dream come true? Then he

7:22

is Me De Palma's. Let's wake

7:24

up those pay birds with some

7:27

juicy began Christie chickens of garlic

7:29

butter should. Scampi. Oh hello

7:31

for me. Sad.

7:34

Dreaming of all the delicious possibility and

7:36

the here and hello fresh that. Gives

7:40

his delivery scientists. I'm

7:47

sorry number two comes from Kaylee. It's

7:51

been almost three and a half years since my

7:53

last email to you, and a lot has happened

7:55

since then. And the and I

7:57

are now married. Some things never change though as

7:59

this. He said if they're going on around

8:01

us. And I thought it was about

8:03

time that I wrote you again. The.

8:06

First story I have for use from and

8:08

these old workplace. And this happened

8:11

in late Twenty Twenty. Or any twenty

8:13

twenty wound. He was

8:15

working night shifts and usually worked. Alone

8:17

or with just one other

8:19

person. He

8:21

regularly heard the sound of footsteps on wouldn't

8:24

floor coming from upstairs which is a tablet

8:26

is area when no one was up there.

8:29

He. Later found out that the building used

8:31

to be offices with a ballroom. Area

8:33

upstairs. Which. Would of course

8:35

have a wooden floor back then. One.

8:39

Night he had to get something from upstairs

8:41

and saw a man and an old fashioned

8:43

business suit standing there is looking at him.

8:47

He. Spoke out loud to him and explained that he was

8:49

just doing his job and he began in a couple of

8:51

minutes. The. Man nodded. And

8:54

he looked away for a second and when he looks

8:56

back the man had disappeared. A

8:59

days later and he had to go upstairs again.

9:01

Unheard the footsteps while he was up there. So.

9:04

He said out loud. It doesn't

9:06

have to be now, but if some you ever have

9:08

a way of giving me your name. I'll

9:10

be happy to use it instead of calling

9:12

you the man upstairs. As.

9:15

Soon as he finish the sentence. A

9:17

voice inside his head said the name

9:20

Arthur very loudly and very clearly. He.

9:22

Was startled. But. Just said

9:25

thank you. I went back downstairs. As

9:28

he days after that his colleague was trying

9:30

to move these huge heavy car batteries. The.

9:33

Same type with the levers on top. From.

9:35

One side of the hours to the other. And

9:38

then changing the lever it's from down to of ready

9:40

to be used in the morning. One

9:43

of the levers absolutely would not

9:45

budge. The. Levers themselves are

9:47

heavy as well, and they can be

9:49

tricky to move. So. After a

9:51

couple of minutes of struggling he just gave up on

9:53

went to fetch the next battery from the other side

9:55

of the art. When. He

9:57

came back the never was sticking straight up in the.

10:00

There. No. One had been near

10:02

is. There. Was no rational

10:04

explanation for it happening. Like.

10:06

I said, these things are super difficult to

10:08

move. And there was only on

10:11

the and his colleague in the yards. The.

10:13

Colleague fetched Andy and showed him what has

10:15

happened and then said. I'm. Not

10:17

sure if you believe in this sort of thing, but

10:19

weird stuff happens here all the time. And

10:22

and he says oh, you mean like the

10:24

man upstairs. His. Colleague was shocked

10:26

an ass to a told me about that

10:28

and and he says no one. He.

10:31

Was on day shift for a couple of weeks

10:33

after that and the i was super busy

10:36

and hectic so if anything happened he didn't notice.

10:39

Until one day when he was working nights.

10:41

it and. He came

10:43

home visibly shaken so ass what had

10:45

happened. He. Was working alone

10:47

with his back to the door when

10:49

he heard the footsteps coming from upstairs

10:52

and walk downstairs towards him like stumping.

10:54

Angrily. He. Thought it

10:56

was his colleagues have turned around and

10:58

saw person walking past the doorway. It

11:01

was so dark so he couldn't see a face.

11:04

But. He still thought it was his colleague. But.

11:06

Then his colleagues shouted as him from

11:08

the other side of the yard. I'm.

11:11

Talking like at least a hundred and fifty

11:13

meters away. He. Could not have

11:15

gotten that far away. And literally two

11:17

seconds. Nothing. Happened for

11:20

the rest of that week of night shifts

11:22

but that experienced it shake him up because

11:24

of how aggressive and angry the footsteps were.

11:27

The. Next time he works nights. After that, I

11:30

was at home just doing my thing, pottering around

11:32

the house. And suddenly I had this

11:34

feeling of. He. Needs text on the

11:36

right now and tell him not to talk to the

11:38

both tonight. And. Just is

11:40

horrible. good instinct that something bad is going

11:42

to happen if he days. The.

11:44

Feeling was so distinct and insistent.

11:47

But. I just convinced myself I was being silly

11:49

and not to bother him at work so

11:51

I didn't text him. The

11:54

next say, after he woke up, he told me

11:56

about how active the spirit had been. And.

11:58

is polly came to him and told him he had

12:01

just actually seen the ghost for the first

12:03

time. And although nothing

12:05

terrible or dangerous happened, one

12:07

of the machines also refused to work, which

12:10

could have potentially been dangerous, which

12:12

is what I think my bad feeling was about. From

12:15

Andy's perspective of the night, things

12:17

were being moved around, footsteps aplenty,

12:20

the door upstairs slammed shut and

12:22

the machine he was using just

12:24

would not work. Basically

12:26

there's a button on the machine and if you

12:28

press the button while using it, the machine won't

12:30

work. It also won't work if

12:32

the machine is jammed. It

12:34

was as though someone was holding the button

12:37

down, like he could see it depressed down,

12:39

as though it was stuck there with no

12:41

one pushing it. The

12:43

problem is, if he had tried to

12:45

unjam the machine and that button had

12:47

popped back up, he could have lost

12:49

fingers or anything in the slicer. I

12:51

think that may have been what my horrible feeling

12:53

was about. Anyway,

12:55

lots of activity going on and then Andy's

12:57

colleague walks up to him and says, I've

13:00

just seen him. Andy

13:03

was confused, thinking there was just a two

13:05

of them in the art, but his colleague

13:07

insists, no, I've just seen him, upstairs

13:10

for the first time. He

13:12

describes the man he saw and it was

13:14

the same description as the man Andy had

13:17

seen previously, except this time he was wearing a

13:19

kind of brown coat over the top of his suit.

13:22

All in all, I think Andy was

13:24

very happy to finish his shift early

13:26

that morning. The next night he was trying

13:29

to move some huge heavy duty road signs,

13:31

approximately the size of a double bed, and

13:34

couldn't find the one that he was looking for. The

13:38

signs were stacked upright leaning against the wall.

13:41

You cannot move these signs more than two

13:43

at a time because they are so large

13:45

and so heavy. While

13:47

he was searching for the one he needed,

13:49

around six or seven moved forward

13:51

away from the stack onto the

13:54

floor gently, as though someone

13:56

had placed them down rather than them falling to show

13:58

exactly the one he was looking for. looking for. It

14:01

was as though Arthur was helping him out to make

14:03

up for being a dick the night before. But

14:06

as for the physics, a lot

14:09

of force is needed to move them, especially to

14:11

move that many at the same time. There

14:13

is no way they could have been blown by wind

14:16

or anything like that. This

14:20

next story is a fairly long one. It

14:23

all started around July 2021 and

14:25

is still happening now. I

14:28

thought we apparently had a ghost cat in our

14:30

house. One day in

14:32

October 2021 I was in the

14:34

shower and through the glass shower screen

14:36

I saw my cat out of the corner of

14:38

my eye jump down from the

14:41

window. I heard the pause

14:43

land on the tile floor, it's a very distinctive

14:45

sound, and looked around expecting to

14:47

see my cat Tink in the bathroom with me.

14:50

There was nothing there and the

14:52

door was fully closed. She

14:55

was in the hallway on the stairs and

14:57

the stairs are carpeted so it doesn't make

14:59

even a similar noise to what I heard.

15:02

Plus I saw a cat jump down.

15:05

She does it fairly often so I know what

15:07

it looks like and sounds like. Anyway,

15:11

I told Andy about it when I got out of the shower

15:13

and he said, oh, well I

15:16

wasn't going to say anything but I've seen

15:18

an actual shadow cat around the house before

15:20

a few times. Not

15:22

just out of the corner of his eye either. He

15:25

actually walked through it that same morning

15:27

because he opened the bedroom door to

15:29

leave for work and it was

15:32

just sat there outside the door waiting for us

15:34

to get up. There

15:36

were other things around the house that I had just

15:38

written off as Tink. I'd never

15:40

paid any attention to them before but

15:43

realised it had been the ghost cat all

15:45

along. For example,

15:47

the time when I could have sworn I

15:49

heard Tink meowing at the front door to

15:51

be let inside and went to check four

15:54

to five times and every time there was

15:56

nothing there. She was actually asleep

15:58

in the bedroom at the time. I

16:01

wrote about this experience in the supergroup and someone in

16:03

the comments warned me, saying they also

16:05

had what they thought was a ghost cat, but

16:07

it turned out to be something much darker. Well,

16:11

they were right. This thing

16:13

is not a cat. The

16:15

longer it stuck around, the more obvious it

16:17

became. It moved weirdly

16:19

like its limbs were too long for its

16:22

body and brought a sense of darkness, unease

16:25

and foreboding. You

16:27

still see it all the time, used it

16:29

out of the corner of my eye. I

16:31

saw it jump up onto the bed recently,

16:33

turned around to pet Tink and she wasn't

16:36

there. We've told

16:38

it to leave multiple times, it's no longer

16:40

welcome. It usually listens

16:42

for a few days, but always comes

16:44

back eventually. The

16:48

next story is a much shorter one and it's

16:50

a similar experience to your story that time when

16:52

you heard a single plucked guitar string in your

16:54

house. I had not

16:56

been sleeping well at the time and Andy was ill,

16:58

so both of us were just lying in bed awake

17:01

when we heard this very clear, what can

17:03

only be described as a chime. It

17:06

sounded like when people tap a knife against

17:08

a big wind glass, it

17:11

was that specific note and sound. Just

17:14

one chime, clearest crystal. I

17:17

said, what was that? And

17:19

Andy said, I don't know, I thought it was your phone. But

17:23

it wasn't my phone. My phone didn't make

17:25

that noise and it was on silent anyway.

17:29

I thought it was you putting your drink down and

17:31

you clinked the glass or something. And

17:33

he said, I don't have a glass, only

17:36

a plastic bottle and I wasn't touching it. Neither

17:39

of us had moved a muscle when it rang out. We

17:41

discussed it a bit more and we were definitely

17:44

talking about the same sound. He

17:46

described it the exact way that I was thinking

17:48

of. And then he

17:50

said, it's not the first time I've heard it. I

17:52

heard it once before, but I just assumed it was your phone.

17:56

Twice in one morning with no logical

17:58

explanation. So we googled it. Apparently

18:02

according to everything we could find it was

18:04

a spiritual thing and hearing it is meant

18:06

to signify a wedding celebration. We

18:09

got married six weeks later. I

18:11

guess the universe was happy for us and wanted to

18:14

let us know or something. Not

18:16

a scary story but kind of weird and

18:18

inexplicable. Seven

18:21

months after we got married, Andy's dad,

18:23

my father-in-law sadly passed away. He

18:26

was a wonderful kind man who loved his

18:28

family very much and welcomed me into it

18:30

with open arms. He

18:32

would always greet me with a hello my darling

18:34

every time I saw him. Sitting

18:37

in the same armchair with a cup of tea and

18:39

telling everyone who would listen how ours was the

18:42

best wedding he had ever been to. He

18:44

was very loved. Andy

18:47

and I got married on the 1st of August 2022

18:49

and were supposed to be going away on our honeymoon

18:51

in March 2023. For

18:54

weeks before I had a horrible gut feeling

18:56

that something bad was going to happen and

18:58

that we needed to move the honeymoon date.

19:01

Andy wouldn't listen telling me I was being ridiculous and

19:04

it would all be fine. Until

19:06

I finally told him firmly no you need

19:08

to listen to me something is

19:10

telling me that we need to move this I

19:12

just know it please can we

19:14

move it to June and he

19:16

finally gave in. We

19:19

saw Andy's dad in hospital on the 3rd

19:21

day cheerful and right as rain telling all

19:23

the nurses about the best wedding he'd ever

19:25

been to while waiting for the

19:27

doctor to confirm his pre-op. We

19:30

were supposed to be flying out that Sunday if

19:33

we hadn't rescheduled the dates. His

19:36

dad was to be released from hospital on

19:38

the Monday but on Monday afternoon Andy got

19:40

a call to come to the hospital immediately

19:42

and say his goodbyes. His

19:44

dad passed away in the early hours of Tuesday

19:46

morning. Had we flown

19:48

out on the Sunday there is no way we would

19:50

have made it back in time to say goodbye because

19:53

it was more than a 13 hour flight each

19:55

way. I'm so glad I

19:57

listened to my good instinct. This

20:01

past Christmas was our first without

20:03

Andy's dad. We spent Christmas

20:05

dinner with Andy's mom and as she went

20:07

back into the kitchen for something she left

20:09

the door to the dining room ajar so

20:11

Andy could see the living room from where

20:13

he was sitting. And

20:15

there, sat in

20:17

his same old armchair was Andy's

20:19

dad. A full-body

20:21

apparition watching TV. Some

20:24

comfort that he was with us on what was a

20:26

hard day for all of us. That

20:30

is the last story I have for you today. Andy

20:33

is now currently working in a hospital. As

20:35

you know by now he is very in

20:37

tune with vibes and presences etc. Two

20:40

days ago there was an intense feeling

20:42

of sad loneliness as someone or something

20:45

walked past. Yesterday he

20:47

was speaking with a client and another lady

20:49

approached the desk. He said I'll be with

20:51

you in just a minute. She didn't

20:53

acknowledge him or react at all but the first

20:55

client gave him an odd look. He

20:57

didn't think anything of it and finished up with the

21:00

client and turned towards the woman who was no longer

21:02

there. He called

21:04

out hello assuming that she had just

21:06

moved into a blind spot or something. A colleague

21:09

who was walking past said are you talking

21:11

to me? And he said

21:13

no I'm talking to the woman who was just

21:15

here. The colleague told him there was no woman

21:17

there. Looked up and down both ends of

21:19

the corridor. There was no one else

21:22

around. She could not have vanished

21:24

that quickly in the few seconds it took Andy to

21:26

finish up with the first client as it was a

21:28

very long corridor. Then this

21:30

morning I received a text from him. The

21:33

ghost is real and is a pain in the ass. As

21:36

he arrived at work this morning he pulled

21:38

into hospital grounds and heard a whistling four

21:40

note tune come from the backseat of his

21:43

car directly behind his head. This

21:45

is still a very new story in our lives

21:47

so I'll update you if anything else happens. He's

21:50

only been working at the hospital for six months and

21:52

these aren't even the first stories he's had from the

21:55

place. Hospitals are weird

21:57

man. Hospitals are indeed very weird

21:59

places. and you know what I feel so sorry

22:01

for Andy. Andy seems

22:03

to be at the receiving end of a

22:05

lot of spooky shit and

22:08

I don't know how he would put

22:10

up with that. I love the continuity

22:12

of the upstairs part

22:14

of Andy's work being a

22:17

ballroom, you know, or previously

22:19

having been a ballroom, like obviously now it's

22:21

carpeted but he's still hearing footsteps on a

22:24

wooden floor and of course if people are

22:26

going to a ballroom back in the day

22:29

the floor is going to be wooden, it's

22:31

going to be that shiny wooden so you

22:33

can kind of glide around it effortlessly so

22:35

you would be hearing footsteps on a wooden

22:37

floor and then seeing that man who

22:39

is all decked out in his finery like

22:42

he is still treating it as a ballroom

22:44

and is it possible that this man, I

22:47

don't know, either was very attached to the ballroom

22:50

or even died at the ballroom and

22:53

therefore gets a bit annoyed with

22:55

the type of work that is going on in

22:58

his once very important

23:00

place. But it does also sound

23:02

like, you know, at times this

23:05

entity, this man, this ballroom man can

23:07

be very helpful so it really is

23:09

swings and roundabouts in the paranormal world

23:12

and your story about the cat, well

23:15

alleged cat that is haunting

23:17

your house reminds me of stories

23:20

that I've read about people seeing sort

23:22

of, how do

23:24

I describe them? Like long

23:26

legged black shadowy creatures on

23:29

all fours in

23:31

various parts of the world. So I guess

23:33

the best way to describe it is like a black

23:35

blob on four legs just ambling

23:37

around and this sounds pretty similar. Is

23:40

this just another example of a mimic

23:42

where, you know, we've had so many

23:44

stories over the years where

23:47

mimics take on the

23:49

form of a loved one or a

23:51

family member, etc, etc. Is this the

23:53

same thing except just take it

23:55

on the form of a cat? And as for the

23:58

chimes, I don't even know what to tell you about that one.

24:00

I still think about that time that that

24:02

guitar string just plucked in in our

24:04

bedroom randomly. I still think about it

24:07

because it was so bizarre and it was

24:09

definitely not next door, never heard

24:12

anything like it before or

24:14

since. It was so strange. But listen

24:16

that's quite nice, maybe it was the

24:19

universe saying congratulations on your wedding,

24:21

your upcoming nuptials, that's quite sweet.

24:24

And I guess if the loss of your

24:26

father-in-law is demonstrative

24:28

of anything is that you really

24:30

should listen to your good instinct about things.

24:33

Our good instinct is a very powerful

24:35

thing. Thank you so much for listening to
