Welcome to an Ad casters.com. Man,

1:37

I tell you what, if I was going

1:39

to pick a character to

1:42

deliver the kind

1:44

of ambiguity and

1:46

half truths that

1:48

this episode is filled with, it would be

1:50

a Saj Ventress. The

1:52

perfect character, I think, to

1:55

be the harbinger. And

1:57

we're going to break it all down here. We're talking

1:59

about. the Harbinger Season 3 Episode

2:01

9, The Bad Batch this week. It

2:04

really, really is, I think,

2:07

a pivotal episode. There's not a lot

2:09

that happens, to be honest. It's not

2:11

like there's just a bunch of... There's

2:13

some action, of course, but it

2:16

almost feels like it takes place in

2:19

one day. But there's some

2:21

great dialogue and there continues

2:23

to be great character, momentum,

2:25

build-up, and payoffs. That's the

2:27

one thing I am just loving about this

2:29

show, is that almost everything

2:31

they set up, they pay it off.

2:34

And I gotta tell you, we've

2:36

been sort of beating around the bush a

2:38

little bit with this, because we're talking about

2:40

an animated series and we're coming off of

2:42

Ahsoka and Mando Season 3. We're about to

2:44

go into the Acolyte, but I think all

2:46

of those writers, I think all of those

2:48

creatives on those live action shows, they need

2:50

to talk to guys like Stuart Lee, Matt

2:52

McNivitz, they need to talk to people like

2:54

Jennifer Corbett, because I think they're doing something

2:56

here on Bad Batch that they're not doing

2:58

in the live action series, since...really since Mandalorian

3:00

Season 2. So, anyway, so

3:03

much to talk about. It's going to be a

3:05

great discussion, live call-in show, Rebel Force radio,

3:07

some of you are new to the program, and

3:09

if you are, and introductions are in order, my

3:11

name is Jason and with me, as always,

3:13

my good friend and yours from Chicago, Jimmy

3:16

Mack. Hey, Jason. Hey, Star Wars

3:18

fans. Just catching up on some

3:21

last-minute reading here, taking

3:23

a look at Star Wars

3:25

Dark Disciple. And I'm

3:28

just at the end of the book here, and

3:30

I'll be damned. The massage of entrance

3:32

dies in this book. What

3:34

the heck? This thing's supposed to be...wait a second,

3:36

I don't need these. This

3:38

thing's supposed to be canon. Dark

3:41

Disciple. And Asajj dies

3:43

at the end. So,

3:45

you'd think that... Well, how definitive,

3:47

Jim, how definitive is this death?

3:50

Is there something...I mean...

3:53

Well, I was going

3:55

to say, we'll get into it this week on the

3:57

Bad Batch. We'll definitely get into it. Because I just

3:59

finished it. And you know what, it

4:01

has taken me a while to come

4:04

around to this book, and I'll be

4:06

damned. It's really, really good. It's

4:08

a great book, and there

4:11

are things in here that happen. And

4:14

among them, The Death of Asajj

4:17

Ventress. But this book's

4:19

supposed to be canon. Actually this book is

4:21

based on episodes of The Clone Wars that

4:23

went unproduced after the show was canceled. Those

4:26

episodes actually written by Katie

4:28

Lucas herself, George's daughter. So

4:32

who proved to be a great asset, I think,

4:34

to The Clone Wars writing team. And

4:36

she took a lot of crap. She took

4:39

a lot of crap online, and

4:41

there were all kinds of accusations

4:43

being thrown about nepotism

4:45

and all of that. But I really enjoyed the

4:47

episodes that Katie was involved in. She did a

4:50

lot of the Darth Maul stuff. It was great.

4:53

She had the chops, and the apple didn't

4:55

fall far from the tree. I wonder where

4:57

Katie's up to these days. But

5:00

this book, Dark Disciples, she actually did the

5:02

foreword for it. And

5:04

she wrote for The Clone Wars for

5:06

about ten years, starting with

5:08

the episode Jedi Crash and ending with

5:11

the unproduced Dark Disciples scripts.

5:14

And of course then those scripts were turned

5:16

into this novel. And

5:20

it's essential. I would say

5:22

this book is essential. After

5:25

finally getting caught up with it, it's been

5:27

out for a while and sitting on my

5:29

shelf, and I finally

5:31

decided to read it to

5:33

prep for these episodes, ensuring the return to the

5:35

massage of entrance. I am glad that you brought

5:38

the book up, because if I was doing this

5:41

solo, I would never bring the book

5:43

up. Because the

5:46

canon in the books, whether they're

5:48

post-Disney acquisition, part of the new

5:50

expanded universe of the old, doesn't

5:52

matter to me. But

5:54

I Recognize and respect the fact that it

5:56

does matter to a lot of people, especially

5:58

since they went so far out of their

6:00

the way in two thousand and Twelve when

6:03

they discontinued and shelved. The. Old

6:05

you and said well the problem with that

6:07

stuff is that it's not. It can't be

6:09

ten into he can't line up with what

6:11

we haven't stores and here they are. Ah

6:14

what. Ah, twelve

6:16

years later, For. To do

6:18

math and public folks. Twelve years later and

6:20

they're sort of up to the same tricks

6:22

but gym. One thing we know about Day

6:24

Bologna and he's continued. I don't know how

6:26

much data days he has on bad bets

6:28

please executive producers and I think he has

6:30

set the culture in the tone for Lucasfilm

6:32

animation. and Red Devil only was never beholden

6:34

to or Expanded Universe in the past, so

6:36

I should he be beholden to it. Now

6:38

he's got a good idea or someone on

6:41

his team has a good idea. Yet.

6:43

So be he learned from his

6:45

mentor George Lucas himself. Exactly secure

6:47

as didn't give a crap about

6:49

what publishing was making except when

6:51

the checks showed up. Have

6:54

a nice they did. The Brink

6:56

trucks showed up at his office

6:59

as I filled with tears but

7:01

you know it's a. It.

7:04

Was they alone? You actually made

7:06

the suggestion that Sars Ventures should

7:08

be brought into the bad batch.

7:10

There was a grade so interview

7:12

that showed up on Star Wars

7:14

that com today are really ring

7:16

yeah featuring Nico Futterman, the voice

7:18

or Size Ventures with see I

7:21

might real we got to know

7:23

her soon whereas Clone Wars years

7:25

one of fun, fun and nice

7:27

person. Loved. Oh yeah, it's. In

7:30

See has a punk rock edge

7:32

just like a side events for

7:34

a certain way as something I

7:36

always appreciated by Job Nico. are

7:39

you know it was in this

7:41

interview on Servers.coms Thirteen Beats revealed

7:43

about the show itself In one

7:45

of those tidbits was he was

7:48

day for mony who brought this

7:50

idea to the show runner Jennifer

7:52

Corbett and the writing staff. That's

7:54

a size ventures can be brought

7:57

back. There was a lot of

7:59

debate. Go. Going on within the writers'

8:01

room about ah, how they can do

8:03

it and how they can do it

8:05

without spoiling the narrative in Star Wars

8:07

or Air right there are aware. Oh

8:09

yeah, and and that? Oh yeah. I

8:11

wonder why they went. With. This

8:13

piece today. Because. There's

8:16

all kinds of. Brouhaha.

8:18

Amongst. Those watching the series a way to and

8:20

wait a minute, Wait a minute. Edges

8:23

and. Get. Going to I

8:25

can I do the spoilers should we do the

8:27

spoiler alert or to talk about the end of

8:29

the book or I was disappointed. As

8:35

Yemen read this, what ten year

8:37

old books you've been warned us

8:39

about. It actually came out what?

8:42

Fifteen August? So Nine Nine, your

8:44

boss but on the way as

8:46

ours dies in his book is

8:49

See and Quinlan Vos. They.

8:51

Have a relationship in this

8:54

So ah, romance is ours.

8:57

Yeah. Allow assists the they are

8:59

right elegant uncovered far as you

9:01

can see A size has the

9:03

here do. So. It's

9:05

nothing new that here. Do go

9:08

back to the front cover absorbed

9:10

start Disciples Twenty Fifteen. And

9:12

there she is. Good old Quinlan assists

9:14

and she also has yellow sea birds.

9:16

Or do you see it now? You

9:18

see it on the best guess. See

9:21

yellow Saber before. the yellow saber

9:23

was cool. before it was the

9:25

the sabre color. Of of

9:27

choice now, which is hims if we're being

9:29

inundated with yellow Sabres gym. But. That's

9:31

Nine lives in. Oh. to me

9:34

the origin of the yellow light

9:36

saber goes back to the vintage

9:38

star wars or regional twelve action

9:40

figures that featured luke skywalker with

9:42

a yellow plastic saber and also

9:44

on the arts or for the

9:46

or we want to know be

9:48

action figures oddly had a yellow

9:50

saber then was a yeah right

9:52

he had a yellow say but

9:54

anyway and it was available saber

9:56

the two minutes late all saver

9:58

i got in Billy Mac

10:00

had those in oh did we have

10:03

a good time dueling dueling but what

10:05

I mean you know how like especially

10:07

in this sort of a meme culture where

10:11

something becomes a thing blue milk became

10:13

a thing it's a track became a

10:15

thing I'm starting to look at the

10:17

blues or the yellow saber as a

10:20

thing now yes yeah we saw Ray

10:22

with it at the end of the

10:24

rise of Skywalker we seeing them in

10:26

the acolyte trailer now all over the

10:28

place yeah and we're seeing

10:30

a size Ventress in this episode of

10:32

the Bad Batch swinging around

10:34

a yellow blade so she and Quinlan

10:37

boss she's working as a bounty hunter

10:39

and that was established in

10:41

the Clone Wars in the series

10:43

that after she departed Dooku

10:46

stopped being mentored by

10:48

him and she turned her back on

10:50

all of that stuff she became a

10:52

bounty hunter she acquired the yellow lightsaber

10:55

while she was tooling around

10:58

in some you know black

11:01

markets right and so

11:03

she scored it that way and

11:07

and so she she operated as a bounty hunter

11:09

who was swinging around a yellow blade she

11:12

met Quinlan boss who was undercover

11:14

hunting Count Dooku this is all

11:16

during the Clone Wars era Quinlan

11:19

boss is hunting down Count Dooku and he

11:21

is in disguise as a bounty

11:24

hunter he and Asajj meet

11:26

they go to Dathomir she

11:28

trains him in the dark side

11:31

of the force she shows him

11:33

the dark force ways and

11:36

he's he slides a little bit

11:38

he slips into you know negative

11:40

territory he becomes a dark to

11:44

a degree they

11:47

hunt Dooku and

11:49

they have two encounters with him the

11:51

second encounter didn't end so well for

11:54

Asajj she went to protect

11:57

Quinlan boss and

12:00

soaked in a ton of

12:02

Count Dooku's Sith lightning. So

12:05

she was laid out, she was done,

12:07

and she passed away. Obi-Wan

12:11

and Quinlan Vos, a

12:14

redeemed Quinlan Vos in the eyes

12:16

of the Jedi Council, they then

12:18

several months later take the body

12:20

of Asajj to Dathomir to this

12:24

enchanted cavern and

12:26

there's waters there and they

12:28

place her body into the waters and she

12:31

kind of sinks into it like Ahsoka did

12:33

when she was in the World

12:36

Between Worlds. Very similar mental

12:38

imagery was coming to my mind as I was

12:41

reading this. And they

12:44

say all of that green mist that

12:47

accompanies the Nightsisters, you

12:50

know, Mother Talzin would generate

12:52

the green mist. We

12:55

saw it on Ahsoka, the green mist. Yeah,

12:58

well a little bit with that weird

13:00

Marak, whatever

13:03

he was. Yeah, but remember when they would do, where

13:06

they would appear and they would communicate

13:08

and they didn't look like regular holograms,

13:10

they had sort of a green misty

13:13

look to them? Oh yes, yeah, right, right. Sort

13:16

of like a symbol of their power. Yeah, the

13:18

Nightsisters do that. The

13:20

Nightsisters do that. So

13:23

Obi-Wan and Quinlan notice all

13:25

this green mist coming out of the waters in

13:27

that cavern and they walk

13:29

away from it, you know, assuming it's

13:31

a, they hear the voices of the

13:33

Nightsisters welcoming the sister back, you

13:36

know. But who

13:39

knows where those Nightsisters were? I'm sure

13:41

it's all going to come into play

13:43

here when it finally gets explained.

13:46

According to the starwars.com article

13:48

today, showrunner for

13:51

The Bad Batch, Jennifer Corbett says, we

13:54

had several discussions about the book and how

13:56

her story could continue, how she

13:58

survived. Lived will

14:01

be revealed in future.

14:03

Content But for this story.

14:06

Whoop! Thrilled to include or

14:08

and explore her unique connection

14:10

to and compassion for Omega.

14:14

Solve This is user content. they don't seen

14:16

a future episodes. Bad batch. I

14:18

would be surprised if season three

14:21

comes and goes and we don't

14:23

have sars. Return. In

14:25

some way shape or form but I'm

14:27

when they say future on sense of

14:29

adding like why don't you and isn't

14:32

it. Yes, Yes and

14:34

there was some talk that of

14:36

fan met Nica. add a signing

14:38

some weird a convention or something

14:40

and see said hey what you

14:42

see in a bad batch is

14:44

just the beginning for new stories

14:46

for Assad food. So I am

14:48

say what about over heels from

14:50

the July? at some point you

14:52

know there might you might be

14:54

right on with that. We don't

14:57

have a release date for season

14:59

two of Tales of the Jet

15:01

Ice, but we've been told. That

15:03

we will see it. And Twenty Twenty four.

15:06

So that could be the future

15:08

content the referring to or he

15:10

could be whatever the next series

15:12

is for Star Wars animation. Every

15:15

real serious not sure writes tales

15:17

of the Jetta is. It

15:20

sounds to me. Based. On

15:22

what you were recounting in the book that

15:24

the fact that they laid her down and

15:26

that water. Yeah. They

15:28

were may be leaving the door

15:31

open. Source: For something

15:33

down the line. So.

15:36

Yeah, I it it at least as way it

15:38

sounds to me. That they. Did These

15:40

are based on scripts. These are based

15:42

on scripts for the Clone Wars had

15:44

never gotten made. so

15:47

i don't know if they were

15:49

looking the necessarily maybe then they

15:51

were thinking about putting a definitive

15:53

ending to a size ventures the

15:55

the novel makes it seem like

15:57

she's dead as a doornail But

16:00

you know that green mist, it does

16:02

open up the door a little bit.

16:04

And I'm sure that's going to come

16:06

into play whenever they eventually

16:08

explain what happened to Asajj

16:11

and how she was able to survive. You

16:13

know, the Asajj is definitely

16:15

one of those characters that I

16:17

could really get behind seeing in live action. To

16:20

be honest, I think she's earned it in

16:22

the same way that Asoka has earned it.

16:24

She's an older character than Asoka Tano. She

16:27

started out in the Genji series. Remember?

16:30

I am Sis. Ha ha

16:33

ha ha. You

16:35

know, I love it when you talk like Asajj. Ha

16:37

ha ha ha. Oh

16:39

my gosh. Well, let's let's get into.

16:41

Thank you for that. That's a great

16:44

prologue to this episode. The Harbinger Season

16:46

3, episode 9, directed by Stuart Lee,

16:49

written by Jennifer Corbett and story

16:51

editor Matt McDevitt. And I saw a comment like,

16:53

why does Swank always read the creators or

16:56

the writers names? Something that

16:58

I tell you, I. My

17:02

one of my idols, Frank Sinatra, would always

17:04

intro his songs because he wasn't a songwriter.

17:06

He would always intro his songs with who

17:08

wrote it, who did the lyrics and who

17:11

did the orchestration. He always wanted to give

17:13

credit to the artists behind the songs. And

17:15

I like that as well, because we talk about

17:17

this stuff and yes, it's content.

17:20

But there are people that really put their

17:22

blood, sweat and tears into this stuff. So

17:24

I like giving them a little bit of

17:26

props. So that's really what I like that

17:28

my podcasting partner is the Frank Sinatra of

17:30

the Star Wars podcast. Well, you've always been

17:32

the Dean Martin. So I'll be the Sinatra.

17:35

That's right. So cheers, baby. Debuted

17:38

on March 27th, 2024, ran just a little bit over 27 minutes, caulking

17:43

in at twenty seven forty sans

17:45

final credits and great

17:48

episode. Really enjoyed it. I tell you, right

17:50

out of the gate, I

17:52

got a little chuckle because of

17:55

that scene on that dock on

17:57

Pabu when when record.

18:00

was kind of giving a crosshair

18:03

a little bit of business about

18:05

making friends, you know, like, look

18:07

at you making friends, you know.

18:11

And you know, he just hates it. But what I like

18:13

about it, and Jim, what I was saying at the top

18:15

of the episode is that it's

18:18

not like they just, oh, crosshair is

18:20

good again, and they drop it.

18:23

They keep giving you little

18:25

moments, just even just one line of dialogue.

18:27

That's what I think is so good about

18:29

this show. I really feel

18:31

that they pay off everything from

18:33

Wrecker's headaches, to Crosshair's

18:35

destiny, to Sid's duplicity. Everything

18:38

is paid off. It might, you know, like with Sid's

18:41

duplicity, it might take a little longer than what we

18:43

want. You know, our patients might wear thin

18:45

a little bit. That's why I'm convinced

18:47

that Crosshair's hand, there will be a definitive

18:49

answer. We kind of got it, but

18:51

I have enough faith in the writers

18:53

that it's going to come back and there

18:56

will be a satisfying payoff. But

18:58

I really do think that this show shines

19:00

with the way that it writes these characters.

19:03

Just absolutely. Yeah, it allows the characters

19:05

to be human. You

19:08

know, everyone knows you just can't flip a

19:10

switch and go from being

19:12

one way to another way without there

19:14

being some

19:16

sort of repercussions via,

19:19

you know, the way others treat you

19:21

or everything that's up in

19:23

your head. There's the conflict. And

19:26

it just doesn't go away just like that. And

19:29

yeah, exactly. And also, I think

19:32

by Wrecker saying that, it allows

19:34

us as an audience to see

19:37

that Crosshair is still going

19:40

through that internal struggle a little bit.

19:43

Yeah, right. Like he catches himself doing

19:45

nice things and he's embarrassed or something.

19:47

Yeah, yeah. He hopes no one sees.

19:51

How can someone who has such a slimy

19:54

sounding voice do

19:56

such wonderful things for others? You

19:59

know what? I think and I guess

20:01

I would have to have pulled some audio but

20:04

I felt that it was a little less slithery

20:06

this week. A little bit. A

20:08

little less slithery. Well I think

20:11

D. Bradley Baker's greatest performance in

20:13

this episode has to be Batcher.

20:15

I mean he brought it

20:17

all for Batcher. We

20:20

had barking. We had whimpering.

20:22

We had panting. We had

20:24

everything you require from your

20:26

lurker hound being... He's

20:28

laughing. ...being supplied in this episode. I'm

20:30

telling you he is lassy for the

20:32

bad batch. You know.

20:34

What do you smell? What do you smell? There's

20:38

a Sith witch here? What?

20:42

We also discovered lurker hounds can be used

20:44

as a mount. I guess if

20:46

you're small enough. I

20:48

mean even as a kid my

20:50

Labrador retriever would not let me jump on

20:53

her back no matter what. So

20:55

I thought that you know they're sturdy

20:57

hounds. Lurker hounds are sturdy. Yeah.

21:00

You know there was a line here

21:02

about the M count and they

21:05

keep again they because it is an

21:08

animated series. And because they

21:10

are I think targeting a slightly younger

21:12

audience. They do tend to bring these

21:14

things back up. They're good reminders but

21:18

they're talking about you know if the contact. They're like

21:20

we still haven't heard from Fennec Shand. If

21:22

the contact can tell us what an M count

21:25

is we might figure out why the Empire is

21:27

targeting Omega. And Crosshair sort

21:29

of is the voice

21:31

of the audience in some ways. And he said

21:33

something that was on my mind. He goes does

21:35

it matter? We're not handing it over. She's like

21:38

why does it really matter? It's not like they

21:40

go oh this is why you want her. Okay

21:42

well here she is. But Hunter

21:44

says no we can't be prepared if we don't know what we're

21:46

dealing with. Again the

21:48

strong writing where they create an

21:50

in world reason to give the

21:52

viewer more information. And

21:55

that was sort of the role that you know

21:57

instead of just assuming we all know. What

22:00

the M-Count is and that we've

22:02

been following since the rise of

22:05

Skywalker, this cloning plot of Palpatine's,

22:08

they continue to, unlike

22:10

Ahsoka did, they continue to talk

22:12

to the audience that's not quite as

22:14

up to speed with everything. And

22:16

I like that. Even

22:19

before the sequels, we were hearing

22:21

talk about M-Count minichlorians

22:23

in the prequels. So

22:26

I don't know,

22:28

I'm just really anxious for someone to

22:30

say the word, minichlorians. No one has

22:32

it, right? Say it. Say it. I'm

22:35

not going to kill you. But

22:38

I mean it creates that mystery

22:40

around what exactly the issue is

22:42

with Omega. And

22:45

why does Hunter do it? I

22:47

think Crosshair brings up a good point. Who

22:49

cares what M-Count means? It's not

22:51

going to change our perspective on it.

22:53

It's not going to make

22:56

us turn her over to the

22:58

Empire. That's not going to happen.

23:00

Why are we wasting all this

23:02

energy and time trying to crack

23:04

the M-Count code? But

23:06

Hunter wants to know. Because you know why?

23:08

I think it's because it's

23:10

a mystery that's haunting Omega

23:13

to a degree. Where

23:15

he's doing it for her. She

23:18

really wants to know. Yeah, it's not

23:20

going to change their approach to anything.

23:24

But it could provide some

23:26

answers that would help

23:28

unlock certain things with Omega

23:31

herself. So it's

23:33

not necessarily about the Empire

23:35

100%. Right.

23:38

That's right. It's about discovering.

23:40

And Omega actually says it to Ventress

23:43

at one point. She says, I want

23:46

to know what I am. Yes.

23:49

And Hunter is keenly aware of

23:51

this and sensitive to that fact.

23:54

He's a good dad. At the

23:56

end of the day, he's trying

23:58

to provide for Omega. And

24:01

he's, you know, if it takes sacrifice to

24:03

do it, he'll do it. Yeah, for

24:06

sure. For sure. Um, but

24:08

I just like that they, they, we're getting some

24:10

messages here on the chat saying, no, they did

24:12

say it. And I don't know if they're talking

24:14

about this episode or a

24:16

previous episode. Maybe it was said by someone

24:19

in the lab. I don't remember the back. I

24:21

said midi-chlorians. She did not. No, no, no. They're

24:23

saying that they said it on the show, but

24:26

I don't think the bachelors have heard it. I

24:28

think that might maybe purging or somebody. Um,

24:31

All right. Well, ever since the term M

24:34

count has come into play, I

24:37

don't believe we've heard the

24:39

word midi-chlorians being used. Maybe

24:42

I'm wrong, but I don't

24:44

think we have. Yeah. I didn't think so either.

24:46

I didn't think so either. Um,

24:50

so, uh, yeah, he's looking at

24:53

his notes below. He's not looking

24:55

at his crotch. Sorry.

24:57

Now I'm distracted by the shed. Who said

24:59

I was looking at my crotch? See

25:02

little grim. Why is Jason looking

25:04

in his crotch all the time? Look

25:07

at his notes. Everyone knows it. Can you

25:09

hear him shuffling around the papers? Got it right here,

25:11

man. This is, Hey, Swank, I'm going to take some

25:13

of the heat off of you. Okay. Where

25:19

are my glasses? I need them. Well,

25:21

what was his name? Hilo. When

25:23

you're below Hilo, when you're silo, silo, maybe

25:25

silo, like it's silo, if you're, when you're

25:27

blessed like me, you'd be staring at it

25:29

all the time too. So, uh,

25:32

it's double-bladed. That's why. Don't

25:39

even know how that would work. I

25:41

don't either. It seemed like

25:43

a funny thing to say. Oh, all right.

25:46

So here's a question that I have with, was we

25:48

were talking at the end of last episode about whether

25:50

or not, you know, what did, who

25:52

was Fennec Shan talking to at the end,

25:54

that transmission, that transmission was obviously,

25:57

um, Encrypted

26:00

because it sounded weird. Yeah,

26:03

it's definitely a Saje Ventress. So you got to help

26:05

me out I didn't go back and look at it

26:08

when when when they

26:10

parted ways with Fennec they weren't

26:12

on pabu, right? They

26:15

were not on pabu because she says

26:17

something to Now we

26:19

know it's Ventress about oh you should you should

26:21

get the coordinates or I should be able to

26:23

send you the coordinates Or something like that Hmm.

26:27

I don't recall the coordinates being brought

26:30

up Yeah, or location or they should

26:32

be easy to find what what there

26:34

was something about them being about them

26:36

being found Yeah,

26:38

well, you know a size just said she

26:40

knew how to track and we know that

26:42

Sith are very powerful

26:46

With their tracking abilities that's revealed in

26:48

the Phantom Menace I know what

26:50

size is in the Sith But she

26:53

studied under one and so maybe some of

26:55

that stuff we know a lot of 50

26:57

things rubbed off on Ventress Yes, here

27:00

was the line. This was Fennec. She says I'm

27:02

sure you can track them down easily

27:04

enough I'll send you what I

27:06

have. So there it is. So she

27:08

was able to follow the clues, but you're right Jim Saje

27:11

Ventress with her experience. She

27:13

can track people down and things like that So I'm

27:15

not too wrapped around the axle

27:17

about that But nonetheless she found them

27:20

and she does say to them, you

27:22

know getting back to this this the name of

27:25

this episode Harbinger what is a harbinger a

27:27

harbinger announces or indicates the

27:30

approach of something and I

27:33

went back and I looked at all of the

27:35

things that Ventress sort of prophesize

27:39

And it starts with she says

27:42

you're very reckless to inquire about

27:44

such things when she's confronting the

27:46

batch About why they're even looking

27:48

into m count So

27:51

then that took me back to yeah, that's right. It felt

27:53

like that Conversation between her and

27:55

Fennec was encrypted and I speculated as to

27:57

why and I said well, of course, this

27:59

is This is black

28:01

ops stuff and they're going to

28:04

be monitoring. The empire is going

28:06

to be monitoring monitoring communications for

28:09

key words. We know our own government does

28:11

that in the real world. They monitor communications

28:13

for key words, you know, like terrorism and

28:15

things like that. So they're looking for keywords

28:17

and somebody says M count or midichlorian or

28:19

something. Boom. Target on your back.

28:21

And that's definitely one

28:24

of her first sort of harbingers. The

28:26

other one is she

28:28

says, but if you do have a high

28:30

M count, consider yourself warned. The empire will

28:32

hunt you down. And

28:35

then she confronts the batch and says, whatever

28:38

you're planning on doing, it won't end well

28:40

for you. Think carefully. How do you want

28:42

this to go? She says

28:44

the empire is more dangerous than you

28:46

could possibly fathom. So the whole script,

28:48

Jim, is is just peppered with. Oh,

28:52

if Omega did have that potential, she'd have

28:54

to be trained, which would mean leaving you

28:56

behind. What you want is

28:58

irrelevant. It's full of prophecies and foreshadowing

29:00

of what's happening. And none of it

29:02

is good. So Ventress comes in episode

29:04

nine and pretty much tells the audience

29:06

if the batch continue the path that

29:08

they're that they're on, it's going to

29:10

be a disaster. And of course, I

29:12

think we know that this is a

29:14

tragedy in the making. Absolute.

29:16

Well, yeah, I mean, it's not going to end up

29:18

well. I don't think it's going to end up well

29:20

for any of the characters on this show. And

29:24

and yeah, that's the harbinger of

29:27

bad news. You know, it's it's

29:29

the omen. It's the

29:31

sign of bad. She's

29:33

the black man on the rise. Yeah,

29:37

yeah. So

29:40

in an asajj, I guess, presents

29:42

that in some

29:45

sort of way, you know, which is by

29:47

physically being there. It's I

29:49

mean, in the history of Star Wars

29:52

animation, it traditionally has been bad news

29:54

whenever asajj Ventress showed up. I

29:56

believe that of the Star Wars universe isn't

29:58

she? She really is a little. bit,

30:00

a little bit. She did

30:02

help out Ahsoka though in

30:05

the Clone Wars. She

30:08

was tracking, I remember she and Ahsoka had

30:10

an encounter on level 1313 and Asaj actually

30:13

helped her out.

30:21

It's when she was on the run, you know,

30:23

in season five and Ahsaj

30:25

did help her out in that episode.

30:27

And I think that was her way

30:29

of kind of, you know, burying the

30:32

hatchet. But you

30:35

know, so there's been

30:37

redemption for the character. And in

30:40

this book Dark Disciple, you do root for

30:42

her, which is something I

30:44

never felt like I was ever doing

30:46

when it came to Ahsaj Ventress. I

30:49

never was rooting for her. And

30:52

so that provides me with a little different

30:54

perspective on the character and

30:58

shows that the character has evolved over

31:00

time. So were you glad? Let me just ask you,

31:02

were you glad to see her pop up in

31:05

Bad Batch? Oh,

31:08

that's a good question. I was

31:10

like glad to see her pop up.

31:12

Was she someone, was she a character

31:14

that you were hoping would have a

31:17

future in the modern story

31:19

or did it not even cross your mind? Well,

31:22

it probably didn't cross my mind, but it

31:24

was nothing I was like, I didn't desire

31:26

to see more of the character necessarily. You

31:28

were fine to leave her where she was.

31:31

Yeah, I mean, she just, but it

31:33

was, it was kind of open ended

31:35

until the book Dark Disciple. She

31:38

was working as a bounty hunter. And

31:40

I think there's a lot of

31:42

interesting places you can take the

31:45

character. And it was something

31:47

that Nika Futterman was really into also. She

31:49

wanted to see where this was going with

31:52

Asajj. You make her a bounty

31:54

hunter. You can take that story

31:56

in almost any direction. Yeah, right.

31:59

Nika, Nika. was down with that and then

32:01

the show got cancelled. So, but it looks like

32:05

Cassage is definitely, she's

32:08

been resurrected and I expect we will

32:10

be seeing much more of the character.

32:15

So this first confrontation

32:17

or not confrontation but

32:19

this first conversation that she has

32:21

with the Bad Batch, you

32:24

know I've heard you I hear you've been

32:26

asking questions about M count, very reckless to

32:28

inquire about such things. It attracts the wrong

32:31

kind of attention and

32:33

then they ask and why is that and I

32:35

love this line she says well that's

32:38

the real question isn't it? She's

32:40

saying look that's the million

32:42

dollar question and it's almost like this is

32:45

the question nobody's really asking is why

32:47

is the Empire obsessed with M

32:49

count with midichlorian count? And

32:52

they started to think well we know we

32:54

have the purge going on but

32:56

then it was like well the

32:59

purge is really about as far

33:01

as we know the purge is

33:03

really about former Jedi extinguishing

33:05

all of the Jedi that are left

33:07

and that's why you have Vader and

33:09

the Inquisitors but then there's this

33:12

other loose thread this other loose

33:14

end which is force-sensitives and

33:16

I think that they're I don't think

33:18

they're the same thing I don't

33:20

think the Inquisitors are necessarily out

33:22

there killing babies toddlers teenagers I

33:25

don't think they're they're on that I think

33:27

that that would be I think it'd

33:29

be a much more covert way.

33:32

Remember with the

33:35

Kenobi series there was nothing

33:37

really subtle about the Inquisitors they would show

33:39

up on a planet intimidate the hell out

33:41

of people and force them to give up

33:43

the person that they were that they were

33:46

harboring or they were protecting with

33:48

something like monitoring

33:51

communications, hearing words like midichlorian

33:53

M count and just

33:56

looking in general for force-sensitive beings I

33:58

think that would have to be a

34:00

little bit more subtle because

34:03

the Empire, they can't

34:05

have their thugs coming in

34:07

and ripping babies out of the arms of

34:10

mothers and killing them. They can't

34:12

do that because at this point in time, as

34:15

I think it was Jim you

34:17

mentioned last week, the Empire, they're

34:19

heroes in some ways to the

34:21

general public. They brought order, they

34:23

brought peace, stability, and all of

34:25

that to the galaxy. So this

34:27

whole hunting down M-count, high M-count,

34:30

this is something really, really

34:32

evil and Ventress talks about it

34:34

later and she says, you have no idea. You have

34:36

no idea how bad it really is. And

34:39

everyone in the chat is saying Ventress

34:41

has, she uttered the word midi-chlorian in

34:44

this very episode and I'm

34:46

sure somebody will call in when we open

34:48

up the switchboard and let us know exactly

34:50

where in this episode it happened. But

34:53

it got by me. I thought I was

34:57

listening closely. There are times

34:59

when I get distracted thinking

35:02

about dreaming Dr. Hemlock and

35:04

sometimes my mind drifts and

35:06

I'm not marking

35:09

every word that's being said in the

35:11

show. But I mean Hemlock. So

35:14

I am looking at my crotch again, looking for the

35:16

word midi-chlorian. I don't see it in

35:19

my crotch. Stop.

35:22

She does say something that

35:24

is not really surprising to us. It might

35:27

have surprised us. It

35:29

may have surprised us before

35:31

where she says it's something in the

35:33

blood. Everyone has it, but

35:35

at varying levels. And

35:37

I was looking, thinking back to Qui-Gon sitting

35:40

outside the Skywalker

35:42

homestead there and testing

35:44

Anakin's blood. By the way, testing M-Count was

35:46

a lot simpler back in the days

35:49

of the prequels. You just had it right

35:51

on your iPhone. You just opened up the

35:53

midi-chlorian testing app and you got the blood

35:55

and you send it off to Obi-Wan. Now

35:57

I couldn't believe that

36:00

Ventress didn't just pull out some device,

36:02

she actually has to go through these

36:04

exercises, which we'll talk about in a

36:06

minute. But Jim, did we always know,

36:08

did we always believe back in when

36:10

the Midichlorians were a new concept that

36:13

they were in everyone's blood? Yes.

36:16

That was always in fact. And that they

36:18

are in everyone's blood. Well, we know

36:20

that the force is in all living

36:22

things, but did Qui-Gon make it clear

36:24

that everybody has Midichlorians back

36:27

in episode one? No. No,

36:30

definitely not. Definitely not. It was,

36:33

I think George Lucas himself did in

36:35

certain interviews that he gave. Yeah, probably.

36:39

Yeah, but I don't think that was ever a point,

36:42

a subject being discussed in

36:44

the dialogue from Qui-Gon. Yeah.

36:47

Yeah. So this is, you know,

36:50

coming right out here in

36:52

universe saying that everyone has

36:54

it, but at varying levels, those

36:56

with a high count were believed

36:58

to be more capable of

37:00

wielding the force. So this is all

37:02

this stuff, the subtext that we've been

37:04

talking about that's now being stated explicitly

37:06

in dialogue in a Star Wars show.

37:08

All the stuff we've been talking about

37:10

on after shows, whether it

37:12

be about Sabine and Ahsoka, what have you. It's

37:15

just interesting to hear it like they're talking right

37:17

to us. Yeah, that's right. All

37:20

right. Midichlorians

37:23

in this episode. Oh,

37:25

you got it. All right. I

37:28

looked up the transcript

37:30

here of the episode and

37:33

it happens

37:36

in a back and forth

37:38

right before Asajj starts testing

37:40

Omega. She

37:42

says, your

37:45

blood doesn't make you a Jedi. You

37:47

have to be trained for that. And

37:49

I've never known a clone to be

37:51

force sensitive, but clearly none of you

37:53

are normal. Omega says you got that

37:55

right. And Asajj

37:58

says the Kamen Owens. make millions

38:00

of you so I get I suppose

38:03

it's possible but if you do have

38:05

a high M count consider yourself warned

38:07

the Empire will hunt you down and

38:11

then it goes on she says move

38:13

child oh then Omega says so

38:16

is that why the Empire's been after me and then

38:19

here it is Asajj says I

38:22

can't determine your midi Chlorian levels

38:24

without testing you and then Omega

38:26

says well then test me I

38:28

can handle it right

38:30

over my head it went and

38:33

it's interesting that Omega hears the

38:35

word midi Chlorian but

38:38

doesn't say something like oh

38:41

so that's what the M and M count

38:43

means I mean

38:45

what did most kids do with that

38:47

wouldn't they react that way when they

38:49

discover something Oh M

38:51

midi Chlorian and then she said well

38:54

what's a midi Chlorian let

38:56

me tell you what a midi Chlorian is you know oh

39:00

yeah oh there I am again um

39:02

hold on damn it I'm

39:04

out of sync with my face

39:07

yeah yeah

39:11

you laugh swing give

39:13

me a something to look at other that's

39:16

your quite on are you surprised that here

39:18

we are all these years talking about midi

39:20

Chlorian is a concept that you were

39:22

the first to reveal to us well

39:26

you know swank I always

39:28

knew it would go mainstream someday you know

39:31

that's why I am now marketing

39:33

the M count app you can get

39:35

it at the iPhone store or at

39:38

Google Play is Google Play

39:40

still around yeah yeah it's a thing

39:42

you might want to get make sure your apps in

39:44

there I cancelled my

39:46

subscription just like I'm gonna

39:48

cancel you swank little bastard

39:50

I love I love how

39:52

quickly he I

39:55

love how quickly he jumps

39:57

to anger Qui-Gon No,

40:00

it's not anger. It's just

40:02

frustration. Oh, he's different. He's

40:05

a Jedi master. He doesn't

40:07

let himself get angry. You know what I

40:09

never did mention? Frustration. He says anger leads

40:11

to hate, hate leads to suffering. Frustration? Totally

40:14

valid. Yeah. Yeah.

40:17

If you're just a little frustrated, you know, you're

40:20

good to go. Yeah. You used to be a Jedi.

40:22

Nobody's going to take away your membership card, you know.

40:25

All right. Let's get back to our analysis.

40:27

Let's talk about these tests. We don't have

40:30

Master Qui-Gon's app. We don't have that little communication

40:34

device that was made out of a lady's

40:36

razor, I believe, when they were making it.

40:38

Yeah. Right. Right. It was. Like a lady

40:40

bic something. So let's

40:42

talk about the test. Test number one, we

40:44

see Omega, and it's

40:46

the thumbnail for this week's episode

40:50

with the apple. Well, it's not an apple, but with

40:52

the fruit on her head and doing

40:55

this sort of one

40:57

legged stand. Now,

40:59

Jim, I have, I

41:02

shouldn't even make a joke about it. I was going to say I've

41:04

stood at the side of the road next to

41:07

my car with a police officer asking me to

41:09

do a very similar exercise to this. But yeah,

41:11

but I'm seriously, I was like, what is she

41:13

doing? Are they testing for midichlorians and balance or

41:16

is this a sobriety test? Because

41:18

this one confused me. It really confused

41:21

me because she says, how does standing

41:23

on one leg have anything to do

41:25

with MCAT? She says you're focused

41:27

on the wrong thing. Stop trying to have balance.

41:30

Let your let go of your conscious mind, conscious mind.

41:32

I don't even know what that means, which is kind

41:34

of a cute little line about that's something we've heard.

41:36

You know, let go, let go

41:39

your conscious self and focus on instinct.

41:41

You know, but what

41:43

is this? This is not about balance. What the

41:45

hell is this exercise about? Well,

41:48

no, I mean, it's about letting yourself

41:50

go. I mean, if

41:52

you're balancing yourself, you're going to react if

41:54

you feel yourself going left or right forward

41:56

or backward, you want to stay on that

41:58

one foot. She's trying to teach

42:01

Omega to just let go of

42:03

all of that. Stop trying to

42:05

coordinate your mind and your body

42:07

and just let yourself go to

42:09

the force and you

42:11

will be still, you will

42:13

be balanced, you won't have

42:15

to struggle against gravity. All

42:18

of that stuff becomes

42:20

irrelevant. Once you give

42:23

yourself to the force, you're focused on the wrong

42:26

things, stop trying to have balance.

42:29

Just like Obi-Wan was sort of like

42:33

stop trying to fire

42:37

the perfect shot. It's almost like you

42:39

have to almost not think about it

42:41

in some ways and let and

42:43

get out of the way and let the force do

42:46

the work. You have to get

42:48

your conscious mind out of it, stop trying

42:50

to control things. So okay,

42:52

so test number one balance,

42:56

Omega fails. Yes,

42:58

well you know it seemed like she was

43:00

getting the hang of it and

43:02

then she got distracted. Yes.

43:05

Because the Badgers were talking

43:07

about massage and

43:09

everything. The helicopter dads.

43:12

Yeah, over there. They're pulling out

43:14

the iPad showing, look

43:17

at this social media search I did here,

43:19

that's her at the

43:21

assassin. Yeah, yeah.

43:25

So and Asajj was picking up on

43:27

this and it distracted

43:29

Omega. So she fell or lost her

43:32

balance. Several times. It seemed like she

43:34

was very steady there for a minute.

43:37

Yeah, I also liked record cheerleading

43:40

her. You know like just, you

43:42

can do it Omega! Can you

43:44

imagine if someone was on

43:46

Dagobah shouting at Luke as he was

43:48

trying to levitate the stone? More

43:51

distraction. And again I think this is kind

43:53

of a shout out to

43:56

the Karate Kid movies. And

43:58

you know how that... Oh when he's... on the

44:00

beach doing the... Yep. Yeah.

44:04

That's the classic karate kid stance. So

44:07

there's... You know, I think Asajj is

44:09

making up these tests as she goes

44:11

along. Yeah, these are

44:13

her... Like she has

44:16

come up with these tests herself because

44:18

she wasn't a Jedi, she wasn't a

44:20

Sith, she doesn't have

44:23

one of those midi-quarian testing kits. She's

44:27

just working on her own and this

44:29

is how she's determined these

44:31

are good ways to decipher whether or not

44:34

you're dealing with a Force sensitive is

44:37

by having them go through

44:39

these practices. And like Luke

44:41

Skywalker and... I

44:45

hate referring to that movie because people get

44:47

freaked out. But Luke

44:50

had three tests that he

44:52

was giving to Rey. So I think this

44:54

is kind of... Lessons. Lessons,

44:56

whatever. This is kind of

44:58

consistent with that. Yeah. Yeah.

45:02

But you're right, they find out through

45:04

texts. But Tech gets a name

45:06

drop in almost every episode. I think there has

45:09

been a... Of course, our audience

45:11

will tell us, but I really feel that there

45:13

has been a name check of Tech in

45:15

almost every episode this season. And

45:18

here was this week's, I checked Tech's files

45:20

from the Republic Archives. You were right, it's

45:22

her. And they call her a Separatist assassin.

45:24

And I paused on that and I was

45:27

like, oh no, that fits. That's

45:29

pretty accurate. That's exactly what she was. Thumbs

45:32

it all up right there. But

45:35

she did have a

45:37

past as a Jedi

45:39

youngling. She was in

45:41

the temple for a while. And

45:46

from what I believe, I mean... And

45:50

she... Why would she

45:52

leave the order though? These are... Oh,

45:55

her master was killed. That's

45:57

right. Yes, her master... Rick.

46:00

The name just came back to me thanks

46:02

to this book. Wow. But, you

46:05

know, it's fresh. Yeah, and then,

46:07

yeah, he died. And

46:10

she was then... Who did

46:13

she end up with after that? I don't

46:15

know. It doesn't matter. So she really is

46:17

bounced around here. She's been bounced around from

46:19

the Jedi to the Sith to the bounty

46:21

hunters to the Bad Batch. I mean, she's

46:23

really... She's worn a lot of hats. She's

46:27

made the rounds. Well, all right. Before we get

46:29

into test number two, we do have some super

46:31

chats. And by the way, this is a call-in show. 708-866-1737.

46:35

We got a jam-packed switchboard already,

46:39

which is great. Tyler Page, our

46:41

fantastic screener, he's here. But

46:43

look at him. Look at him. Fast at work,

46:46

hard at work. And I

46:48

hate to break it to you listening on audio

46:50

podcasts, but there's no beard. Well,

46:52

there is a beard. Well,

46:54

you know, this is like

46:56

Five O'Clock Shadow. For Tyler's

46:58

standards, there's no beard. There

47:00

is facial hair present. A

47:02

fine mustache. He's

47:04

still mustachioed. But

47:07

you know, Tyler, he'll have that full

47:09

beard back in two weeks. I

47:11

don't know. We were just talking pre-show, you

47:13

know, no beard for Bristol. No

47:17

beard for Bristol. Just beers. Beers

47:20

for Bristol, not beards. Beards. No

47:22

beard for Bristol. That's my favorite.

47:24

It's Beastie Boys. No

47:27

beard for Bristol. We didn't mean to interrupt.

47:29

We know you're doing a great job screening

47:31

the calls. So we'll leave you to

47:33

it. But did want to show off the

47:36

chin and you got that little dimple. You got

47:38

the Mark Hamill dimple on the chin. Look

47:40

at you. That's a

47:42

high midichlorian count right there. You can

47:45

tell. Yeah. All right, man. Super

47:48

chats. That's right. That's where we were. Here's Sal

47:50

B. Crumb, always here with this very

47:53

kind. He said, didn't watch yet. So I'm out of

47:55

here. Can't wait to watch and listen to the replay.

47:57

Thanks for the content, gents. That's so nice. I like

47:59

when people drop by even just to say hi because

48:02

they haven't seen the episode yet and they're like all

48:04

right I'm gonna go watch the episode then they'll come

48:06

back. He can't even watch our after

48:09

show right now live but he'll

48:11

catch up he'll catch up that's super

48:13

nice thank you Seth. Jonathan Tilley says

48:15

chut chut always a blast listening to

48:17

y'all awesome to see Ventress back and

48:19

crosshair being protective if any Star Wars

48:21

book is worth the read Dark Disciple

48:23

is a must so another vote for

48:26

Dark Disciple and Jim's showing it off

48:28

right here and it

48:30

is still available I'm sure wherever fine

48:32

books are sold. We

48:35

got Phil oh Phil I'm not gonna

48:37

read your full name Phil says

48:40

love the pacing of this season

48:42

RFR number one. Yes

48:44

Phil there I'm looking for Phil.

48:48

Almost got me Phil. Alright David

48:50

Fieldson says RFR number one Ventress

48:53

said Midichlorians this episode yes we

48:56

yeah we know we got it we

48:58

got Jim the number of emails that we

49:00

are going to get because people that wait

49:02

for the episode to finish they

49:05

fire it off first. Yeah I mean

49:07

even the the puck gets by the

49:09

greatest Hall of Famer goalies from time

49:12

to time but yeah it did it

49:14

did it went right by me why

49:16

she sure did say Midichlorian and there

49:19

was no reaction no revelation to the

49:21

statement no nothing I I

49:23

find that kind of odd. Yeah

49:26

curious Steeldriver says somehow

49:28

Asajj has returned I'm sure the explanation

49:31

will come in a novel maybe Kira

49:33

will be involved. Oh

49:36

God I'll tell you what though

49:40

they were specific Jennifer

49:42

Corbett said in Star wars.com that

49:46

the explanation will be revealed in

49:48

future content that doesn't even mean

49:50

you know it could be a

49:53

book with that sort

49:55

of shady oh God what

49:57

is this even worse Jim what if it's a webcomic.

50:01

I mean that's really is. That's the

50:03

bottom of the barrel. That's

50:06

as low as it gets. A web comment.

50:08

That's what it gets. Look, there have been a lot

50:10

of talented people working on those. I'm just talking about

50:12

the hierarchy of content. I

50:16

wouldn't want to be around Nika Futterman

50:19

when that news breaks. All

50:22

right, before we get to our cause, let's talk

50:25

about the second test. The second

50:27

test, which was more successful, was

50:30

when Ventress asked Omega

50:32

to go up into the

50:36

colonnade and bring the

50:38

white blossom down before the

50:40

sun sets from the weeping Maya tree. And

50:44

she succeeds. And Jim, as you were talking

50:46

about earlier, she gets her beast of burden

50:48

in the form of Batcher and

50:51

she rides him up the hill. And I thought,

50:53

well, is that cheating? Is

50:56

that really what Ventress had in mind? And I'm like,

50:58

well, wait a minute. This isn't. There

51:01

are no rules to this stuff. It

51:03

was just to show her skill, her

51:05

instincts, her problem

51:07

solving abilities, all that stuff.

51:11

And she passed this one. So she's now

51:14

one for two. It's

51:17

a test of drive,

51:19

determination, and yeah, maybe

51:21

the force. We

51:25

know the force works in mysterious ways and

51:28

Omega was successful. So you failed

51:31

the first test. Is

51:35

it a dub that makes

51:38

you feel that this

51:40

is a result of high midichlorian

51:42

count? No, no. It's

51:44

a fast lurka hound, I

51:46

think, is what comes into play

51:49

here. But is her ability to

51:52

work with Batcher, is

51:54

that the result or is that from

51:57

a high midichlorian count? Well,

51:59

it's a good result. in the third test, communicating

52:02

with nature comes into play. So,

52:05

you know, she, she may have passed

52:07

the second test and the third test

52:09

at the same time. That's

52:11

what I, that's exactly what I was wondering. Um,

52:16

but nonetheless, there's a win

52:18

on the second test. And when

52:20

she gets back, of course, Ventress

52:22

is already in the batch of

52:24

already been involved

52:26

in a big scuffle with Ventress and

52:28

she really kind of kicks all their

52:30

asses, uh, to be honest. And,

52:33

uh, I was excited because Jim, we

52:35

were wondering what happened to Hunter's blade.

52:38

We got Hunter's blade. This after blade

52:40

returns Hunter blade, his, his blade returns.

52:42

Yeah. I was wondering, you know, did

52:45

he lose it? What it was almost

52:47

like he had a religious relationship with

52:49

the blade. When we were first introduced

52:52

to the character, kind of like Rambo

52:54

and his survival knife, but,

52:56

uh, as the seasons have

52:58

worn on, we haven't seen much

53:00

of Hunter pulling that blade out.

53:02

It's, it's a little

53:05

feature in the Hunter three

53:07

and three quarter inch action figure where

53:10

you can unsheath the blade there. And,

53:12

uh, I know as a

53:14

kid, I would have lost that blade within three

53:16

minutes of playing with it, but it's pretty cool.

53:19

I have to say this though, a

53:21

sash Ventress fond of

53:23

punching below the belt. During the

53:25

fight with Hunter and record, I

53:28

slowed it down and counted

53:30

11 illegal blows. Whoa.

53:33

Where's the referee? We

53:36

need someone to step in here and

53:38

separate the two fighters and a size should have

53:40

been given at least a warning and

53:42

it should have affected the judges scorecards

53:45

too. I couldn't agree more. I couldn't

53:47

agree more, but that, you know, that's

53:49

really low, especially, you know, for a,

53:53

for a woman, come on. Come

53:55

on. Well, I mean, you know, need to stoop

53:57

to such levels. Come on. Yeah,

54:00

I say take advantage of any

54:02

weakness from your opponent. So her

54:05

fighting cell did remind me for you

54:08

Bond fans of Mayday and

54:10

Zena on the top from

54:12

Mayday from A View to a

54:14

Kill and Zena from GoldenEye. Yeah,

54:17

I got those vibes. Something

54:20

I noticed and

54:22

I'll just say we

54:24

got a lot of heat after last week's

54:26

episode with us complaining about the darkness and

54:29

I was very happy with this

54:31

week's show. I didn't have any problems. All

54:34

of the training with Omega

54:38

took place in daylight. I

54:42

was able to see everything. Even

54:44

this scuffle between the batch

54:47

and Asajj, they were

54:49

in that cave but I

54:52

could still see everything and they're

54:54

almost seemed... It wasn't slow motion

54:56

but the fight was

55:00

almost slower than

55:02

normal so that I could absorb and

55:05

register the various moves and

55:07

the blows. I don't

55:09

want to say it was slow as a bad thing. I

55:13

just followed the fight really, really

55:15

easily in this particular scuffle.

55:17

So I was really glad. It wasn't

55:19

just like over in shadows like that

55:21

last week's episode with that

55:24

bounty of

55:26

Fenix, the praying mantis they were after.

55:30

I didn't see a frame of that fight.

55:32

I really didn't. So

55:34

yeah, it was

55:36

easier to make out. It was so fast paced so

55:38

it was like a 40 second round of

55:41

non-stop blows being thrown. A lot of

55:43

them below the belts. Yes, I was

55:45

paying attention. I

55:48

had to slow it down. I'm a fight

55:50

fan. I watch boxing. I'm

55:52

there for show time on Saturdays.

55:58

It was very well choreographed. though

56:00

the animators really took

56:02

their time to make sure the moves

56:05

made sense and and

56:07

obviously Ventress had the upper hand

56:09

being you know someone who

56:12

can tap into the force no question she's

56:14

gonna she's gonna kick their asses you know

56:16

but uh yeah

56:19

it was it was interesting that that whole

56:21

fight I thought was getting a lot of

56:23

there she goes that boot right to the

56:25

crotch again and again and again now we

56:28

got to go back and watch it because

56:30

I gotta go back and see all the shots to

56:32

the crotch but no we're definitely getting a lot

56:35

of comments in the chat saying it was one of

56:37

the best fights in Bad Batch and everything was there's

56:41

summer saying wow it looked like motion capture it

56:43

was it was so good yeah

56:45

it wasn't but it was right

56:47

very well animated in choreographed so

56:49

she she

56:52

succeeds in the test but this is big

56:55

big big foreshadowing right here we know she's

56:57

a harbinger oh someone

56:59

in the chat said well was that second exercise

57:01

really a test or was it a diversion I

57:03

think it was both she it

57:05

was a test but then she utilized

57:08

Omega's absence to have a heart-to-heart with

57:11

the batch and she

57:13

says now that she's gone let me just give

57:15

you some advice whatever you're planning it kind of

57:18

reminds me of Luke this isn't gonna end the

57:20

way you think whatever you're

57:22

planning on doing it won't end well for

57:24

you think carefully how do you want this

57:26

to go but

57:29

here's a thought that occurred to me will

57:33

Ventress join the

57:35

batch like is

57:37

she you know like

57:39

is she been kicked

57:42

in the teeth and beat up

57:44

and and abandoned by so many

57:47

in the past but she sees this

57:50

really motley crew in their

57:52

first they're there they're

57:54

the first value amongst them

57:56

is loyalty and

57:58

I just Wonder when when

58:01

she said that you know, whatever you're

58:03

planning. It's not gonna go well I'm telling you

58:05

I just felt like it was foreshadowing that

58:08

we know it's foreshadowing, but will she join them? Could

58:10

you see a day? I thought she fit in real

58:12

well like the shots when she was in there with

58:14

the batch like I could see her being one Of

58:16

these guys. Yeah, you know,

58:18

I mean she's a character that

58:20

defines definition. Mm-hmm. She's definitely an

58:22

outcast Yeah, I

58:25

could see her fitting in with the guys and

58:28

she would be a great like

58:30

mother figure for for

58:33

Omega compared to hunters fatherly

58:35

figure and It

58:38

there's potential there with what you're saying.

58:40

I see her hooking up with crosshair.

58:42

I think those two are made for each other Oh,

58:44

you picked up a tension there? sexual

58:47

tension between the two I Don't

58:50

know. I mean, you know What

58:52

kind of interaction did they have a crosshair

58:54

accused her of being a liar? Yeah. Yeah.

58:57

No, I was definitely No,

58:59

there was nothing on screen that led me to

59:01

believe I just thought well, they you know

59:03

given their pasts, you know They would

59:06

really understand each other. I think they're both sort

59:08

of always teetering teetering on the edge of Evil

59:13

her bad, how would you like to be

59:15

in the restaurant at the table next to

59:17

those two when they're out for a romantic

59:19

dinner? I

59:25

Mean, you know he he sounds all slimy.

59:27

She's all like Like

59:30

a snake in a panther or something Gets

great episode. I mean, we're an hour deep. We

1:00:38

talk about test number three in the end, but

1:00:40

let's go to, let's start with

1:00:42

Matt in LA. He's a Patreon member, which

1:00:45

we love and appreciate, and he's been waiting.

1:00:48

Matt, you're on with Rebel Force Radio. Hello. Hey,

1:00:50

fellas, what's going on? Hey, hey. Hi,

1:00:53

Matt. Hey, guys, I just wanted to kind of

1:00:55

talk about this episode and say how great it

1:00:57

was to have the songs back on

1:01:00

the screen. Nick is just

1:01:02

killing it with the voice acting. What I think

1:01:04

I liked about this version of the songs that

1:01:06

we see here, there's definitely been

1:01:08

some growth that's happened off screen,

1:01:11

that they are showing and not telling.

1:01:14

I just loved her ability

1:01:17

to connect with the creatures

1:01:19

around her. I think

1:01:21

that was one of the biggest moments for me, that showed,

1:01:23

OK, she's had this moment

1:01:26

where she understands the Force a little

1:01:28

better than seeing the light and the

1:01:30

darts. And I'm just excited

1:01:32

for her future. I'm excited to see where

1:01:34

this goes. I think you guys are spot on. I think

1:01:36

we're going to see a Tales of the Jedi short

1:01:39

story with her. Potentially, I

1:01:41

would love to see maybe

1:01:43

an Ahsoka clean them up

1:01:45

again, young post clone with

1:01:47

Ahsoka, figuring out the rebellion,

1:01:49

maybe setting the

1:01:52

path for Force

1:01:54

users to find solace in

1:01:56

this empire taking over

1:01:58

and looking for it. for mCount

1:02:01

and then possibly, I don't know how you guys

1:02:03

feel about this, but maybe a

1:02:05

final Vader showdown, a sacrifice,

1:02:07

you know, to save the

1:02:10

potential future Force wielders. I

1:02:13

just, you know, I'm excited to see her.

1:02:15

I liked the little callback to that. She

1:02:17

has multiple lives like all Knight sisters do.

1:02:20

I'm very excited and I'm very happy with

1:02:22

this episode. You know, when you mentioned Vader,

1:02:26

what comes to mind is there would

1:02:29

be something kind of satisfying about

1:02:32

Asajj calling Vader

1:02:34

out as Anakin Skywalker

1:02:36

because it's without all of

1:02:38

the sentimentality that Obi-Wan and

1:02:40

Ahsoka who have called him

1:02:42

out as Anakin, they

1:02:44

have. There's a sentimentality. Asajj

1:02:48

has no sentimentality at all. So

1:02:50

I could see her really, as

1:02:54

the kids call it, dead naming Anakin

1:02:57

Skywalker, Darth Vader. Wow.

1:03:02

What was that? Someone liked it over in Matt's house.

1:03:05

Yeah. But you

1:03:07

know, that would present some

1:03:09

awesome drama, I think it would

1:03:11

be. And of course

1:03:13

Vader would walk away the victor.

1:03:16

Oh, absolutely. No question about it.

1:03:18

But Asajj could give him a

1:03:20

good fight. And

1:03:22

I would love it if her

1:03:24

story went in that direction,

1:03:26

but here we are waiting

1:03:29

for future content to learn

1:03:31

how she survived the events

1:03:33

of Dark Disciples. So we

1:03:35

shouldn't be holding our breath

1:03:37

for anything like that. They're

1:03:39

gonna drag it out as long as they have to.

1:03:42

But that presents an awesome

1:03:44

storytelling opportunity, in my opinion.

1:03:47

Yeah, I love it. You know, Matt, it's

1:03:49

sort of the obvious thing to say, oh,

1:03:51

they should face Vader. They should face Vader.

1:03:54

And some of them I kind of roll

1:03:56

my eyes, but this one I like a

1:03:59

lot. Ventress, the. Vader. I'm there for

1:04:01

it. Good idea. Yeah. Thanks

1:04:03

guys. I think there's definitely an opportunity

1:04:05

there doing it subtly, doing it

1:04:07

a way that isn't like, you know, just bringing

1:04:09

Vader back for any opportunity. I think you're on

1:04:12

to it. Yeah. Oh, and Jeff

1:04:14

Holland reminding us in the chat. Yeah. Ventress gave

1:04:16

him the scar. True.

1:04:19

So he's got a score

1:04:21

to settle history there. There is history there.

1:04:23

Yeah. Yeah. Love it. Hey, Matt.

1:04:25

Thanks so much for calling. Appreciate it. And

1:04:27

thank you for being a Patreon supporter. Please.

1:04:30

Yeah. Please call us again. It would be

1:04:32

great. Jason, I'm going to have, I got to

1:04:34

step away for a quick second. So if you

1:04:36

want to jump into the next call, I'll be,

1:04:39

I'll be back in like one minute. No, no,

1:04:41

no problem. It's all right. All right. Well, let's

1:04:43

go to, uh, I gotta find an easy one.

1:04:46

I gotta find, I can't, I gotta

1:04:48

find it. And I can't, I can't do

1:04:50

Blake because Max gotta be here for Blake.

1:04:52

So let's go and let's

1:04:54

talk to, uh, Tony.

1:04:57

No, sorry. Brian from Tennessee. Brian,

1:04:59

we're, we're, we're skipping everybody else

1:05:02

and we're going right to you. Take it easy

1:05:04

on me. I don't have Mac here. Hope you

1:05:06

don't want to refund on your phone call. He

1:05:09

had to step away. Yeah.

1:05:12

I get, I get 50% of the,

1:05:14

uh, the podcast right. Hey, thanks Jason.

1:05:17

Yeah, man. Um, listen,

1:05:20

this has probably been beat to death, but

1:05:23

my, my worlds are colliding. I'm

1:05:25

about six hours in listening to,

1:05:27

um, uh, the

1:05:30

massage, um, Ventress book,

1:05:32

the dark disciple. I'm about 10

1:05:35

hours into the

1:05:37

secret history of star Wars, which got the, and

1:05:39

the only reason I'm reading that is because Jimmy's

1:05:41

on the Q and a couple Q and a's

1:05:43

ago, maybe even the last one, he and

1:05:46

the guy that were talking, um, you

1:05:48

know, mentioned it was a Yoda questionnaire just

1:05:50

for Jimmy, I think. And one, and one

1:05:52

of the questions was what Star Wars, um,

1:05:56

what thing that's not a figurine would you,

1:05:58

would you, would you. you know, would

1:06:00

you think there was a fire? I don't

1:06:02

know if that was the exact question. Right.

1:06:04

But both of them said, it's

1:06:07

a great book. Here's my fantastic book.

1:06:10

It's, it's, it's phenomenal. And

1:06:12

Tyler even said, y'all did a thing with the

1:06:14

narrator, a podcast with the narrator. I'm

1:06:16

going to go back and listen to, but here's,

1:06:18

but here's where our worlds are clad. And

1:06:20

I was driving today for work and listen

1:06:22

to the book and they're talking about returning

1:06:25

the Jedi. And they, they

1:06:27

were talking about how George painted himself into

1:06:29

into a corner. And because

1:06:31

of what they said in empire, there's a,

1:06:34

Yoda said, there's another. They

1:06:36

had to come up with another and it just, it just

1:06:38

so happened that was Leia. That's

1:06:40

how it worked out. That was the easiest

1:06:43

thing for George to write. So it was

1:06:45

Leia. But in a dialogue, Luke says, my

1:06:47

father has it talking about the force. My

1:06:49

father has it. I have

1:06:52

it. And you have it. I

1:06:54

know that the day colonial

1:06:56

has now said that everybody has the

1:06:59

force within them or medicalians within them

1:07:02

in or in count or whatever we

1:07:04

want to call it these days. But

1:07:06

why are they, why are they even testing

1:07:08

omega number one? He's a clone. And

1:07:11

I'm not a scientist, but I would think

1:07:13

that a clone is a clone. So if

1:07:15

they're cloning Django and y'all, y'all have actually

1:07:17

touched on this a bit, but if they're

1:07:19

cloning Django, he wasn't forced sensitive.

1:07:21

Why are they, why are they testing them? They're

1:07:23

number one. And then, and

1:07:26

then going back to this book and going back to

1:07:28

the original trilogy, I was six

1:07:30

when I first saw Star Wars episode

1:07:34

four. And in

1:07:36

going back to the original trilogy, it

1:07:38

seemed like you had to have it either had

1:07:40

it or you didn't. Vader

1:07:42

had it. Luke had it. His

1:07:44

sister had it. And now we're

1:07:47

getting into everybody's got it. So all

1:07:50

my world declined with this episode

1:07:52

with the omega book that

1:07:54

I'm reading, guard your cycle and then with,

1:07:56

with secret stuff. But anyway, your

1:07:58

thoughts. really torn about

1:08:01

this because I can

1:08:04

see both ways. I mean, as somebody

1:08:06

who grew up and

1:08:09

seeing Return of the Jedi as a six-year-old,

1:08:12

seven-year-old, and eight-year-old on the subsequent releases and

1:08:14

then watching the original films

1:08:16

on HBO and video

1:08:19

cassette and all of that, I

1:08:21

just believed with all my

1:08:23

heart that I, if I trained hard enough,

1:08:26

could be a Jedi. There

1:08:28

was nothing in the original trilogy that made me

1:08:30

think, and some of that's just childhood innocence, but

1:08:33

there was nothing in the trilogy, the original trilogy,

1:08:35

that made me think that it was exclusive.

1:08:37

I certainly understood that Luke

1:08:40

was really, really strong

1:08:42

in the Force. They used that a lot in

1:08:44

the original trilogy. You've

1:08:46

been taught well, you're this Force that's drawn

1:08:48

with you. I mean, the reason he had

1:08:51

such a target on his back with Palpatine

1:08:53

going back to just what we knew as

1:08:55

kids in the 70s and 80s was that

1:08:58

he sensed that Luke was so strong

1:09:00

in the Force that he wanted Luke

1:09:04

to replace Vader. So

1:09:08

both things existed at the same time for

1:09:10

me. You can have superstars, rock stars, and

1:09:12

you can have even

1:09:15

little Jason from Canton, Ohio, can grow up to

1:09:17

be a Jedi someday. What's surprising

1:09:19

here, and I'll just cover Omega, and I'll

1:09:21

give my prediction and I'll let Mac take

1:09:24

this too, I

1:09:27

predict that Omega is not Force-sensitive. That's

1:09:29

my prediction. I don't think they're going

1:09:32

there. I don't think this final series,

1:09:34

this last season, with just a few

1:09:36

episodes to go, I don't think it's

1:09:38

the goal of these writers to create

1:09:42

another story of a Jedi in training. I think

1:09:44

there's something different here,

1:09:46

not necessarily bigger or better,

1:09:49

but I think there's something different

1:09:51

here. So Mac, our

1:09:53

caller was inspired by the Q and A

1:09:55

where you were talking about the secret history

1:09:58

of Star Wars and what a treasure Trove

1:10:00

that is, but he was

1:10:02

seeing how, but

1:10:04

now everybody, George Lucas painted himself in

1:10:06

a corner with Jedi, and now he's

1:10:09

seeing that same thing happen in Star

1:10:12

Wars here where everybody's a Jedi,

1:10:14

everybody's Force-sensitive. Well, everybody,

1:10:16

I mean, that's kind

1:10:18

of a stretch, you know? I'm

1:10:20

still holding my breath waiting for

1:10:23

Kitzer to be Force-sensitive, and it's

1:10:25

not going to ever happen. So

1:10:27

see, there are exceptions, but

1:10:30

everyone is connected to the Force in

1:10:32

its own way, you know? I

1:10:35

think. That's what I think.

1:10:37

Like, you know, life creates

1:10:39

it. It's

1:10:42

all about the

1:10:44

giant energy of all

1:10:48

humanity, and

1:10:50

all humanity and nature, you

1:10:52

know? The Force is everywhere. And

1:10:55

Yoda even says it's a rock! A rock!

1:10:57

Look at that rock! And then

1:10:59

leave it to the High Republic to turn a rock into

1:11:01

a character. What's

1:11:04

that? What's that? Is this Jeremy? This

1:11:07

is Bryan. Bryan, I'm sorry. This is Jeremy. Okay,

1:11:12

Jeremy, so what's your... I'm

1:11:14

sorry, Bryan. Do you have a Larry

1:11:16

King moment here? Hello.

1:11:18

We're here with Jeremy. Hello.

1:11:21

Go ahead, Bryan. No, I

1:11:24

was just going to say, you're absolutely right.

1:11:26

And going back to this book, it's just,

1:11:28

I mean, it's kind of changed my life,

1:11:30

my Star Wars life, the secrets of Star

1:11:33

Wars, this book has. And

1:11:35

but going back to the

1:11:37

early renditions that George was

1:11:39

writing, saying, okay, when things

1:11:41

die, it makes you more

1:11:43

powerful on the Force. So I understand that.

1:11:46

I think one of the things that made

1:11:48

me as a six-year-old when I first saw

1:11:50

the original Star Wars made

1:11:53

Luke so Luke

1:11:57

was the fact that I didn't have the Force. Jason was

1:11:59

just talking about it. talking, you know, he, he

1:12:01

wanted, he wanted to think that he had the force

1:12:03

and, and I, I've tried to make the salt shaker

1:12:05

move. I've tried to make

1:12:07

the wind move, but, but it's just not

1:12:10

working. And the thing that made Luke, Luke

1:12:12

and OB one, OB one and Darth Darth

1:12:15

was that they had the force

1:12:17

and now Dave's blown back and

1:12:19

maybe rearranging that, but, but he

1:12:21

says it's sort of

1:12:23

George, George's blessing. So, um, you

1:12:27

know, my question was, I don't know if

1:12:29

you heard it was all these things are

1:12:31

intertwining. Um, the Omega getting tested. I'm reading

1:12:33

dark disciple. I'm about six hours into that.

1:12:35

I'm 10 hours into the secrets.

1:12:38

And so all my worlds are colliding right

1:12:40

now, but that one thing I read today

1:12:42

or listened to today was the

1:12:45

I've got it. My dad had it. You've

1:12:47

got it. Meaning not everybody

1:12:49

has it. Why didn't you say that behind? Why didn't you

1:12:51

say that? Chewy job, got it too guys. All right.

1:12:54

Well, here's the thing. Here's the thing.

1:12:57

No one has the force.

1:13:00

You don't have the force. You

1:13:02

can connect to the force and

1:13:06

you can work with the force. You

1:13:08

can learn how to manipulate the force

1:13:11

to do all those tricks, but

1:13:13

no one has it. No one like owns

1:13:16

it. That's what I've

1:13:18

always believed. No one

1:13:20

owns the force, but you

1:13:22

have various degrees of

1:13:25

being able to communicate

1:13:27

with it and connect with

1:13:29

it. Palpatine, even

1:13:31

though Palpatine in the prequels, he's

1:13:33

surrounded by force users, the Jedi

1:13:36

council. He's having meetings

1:13:38

with them and, and

1:13:40

they're involved in politics and stuff.

1:13:42

So to be around a force

1:13:45

user is nothing unusual for Palpatine.

1:13:47

The Jedi can't pick up on

1:13:49

Palpatine's connection to the force because

1:13:51

he's using the dark side. But

1:13:54

when Palpatine comes into contact with

1:13:56

Anakin, he almost seems

1:13:58

to get drunk off. of

1:14:00

the fact that Anakin is

1:14:02

so connected to the Force.

1:14:04

The Force runs strong with

1:14:06

you. He's like

1:14:08

getting high off of it. It's

1:14:10

so intense, almost perverted. But

1:14:13

it doesn't mean like, like

1:14:15

Anakin is containing the

1:14:17

Force. Anakin is

1:14:20

containing the ability to connect with

1:14:22

the Force in a stronger, more

1:14:24

profound way than almost anybody else

1:14:26

in the history of

1:14:29

Force users existing.

1:14:33

But he doesn't like have

1:14:35

the Force. And I've heard that the Force, they're

1:14:39

always like strong with the Force.

1:14:42

But it doesn't mean they like, they

1:14:44

contain the Force. They

1:14:46

connect with the Force. And

1:14:48

I think that's a healthy way of looking at it.

1:14:51

How well can you connect with the Force?

1:14:54

And there's even, you know, a way

1:14:57

to check your physical self

1:14:59

to see how strongly you

1:15:01

have that potential if

1:15:03

they measure the midi-chlorians within your bloodstream.

1:15:07

So that's just a way

1:15:10

of defining how

1:15:12

people can be connecting to

1:15:14

the Force on various levels.

1:15:18

But I don't think anybody has the

1:15:20

Force. The ability,

1:15:22

some have a stronger ability

1:15:24

to do it. And the

1:15:26

way it's explained physically is

1:15:28

by measuring the M-count in

1:15:30

someone's blood. Now back to

1:15:32

Omega. Is she strong

1:15:35

with the Force? Does she

1:15:37

have a high midi-chlorian

1:15:40

count? Still, you

1:15:42

know, TBD. But

1:15:44

I tend to agree with Asajj Ventress.

1:15:47

She's a little sketchy at the end of

1:15:49

this episode when Cross

1:15:52

here accuses her of lying about

1:15:56

Omega's M-count. But

1:15:58

Asajj plays it quite well. And, you

1:16:01

know, like I said, Crossier calls her

1:16:03

out, says she's a liar, but then

1:16:05

she lays the truth on them. They

1:16:07

might not want to hear her. And

1:16:10

she says, if Omega did have that

1:16:12

potential, she'd have to be trained. And

1:16:15

if they're going to train her, they're going

1:16:17

to remove her from the bad batch. What

1:16:21

they want is irrelevant. You

1:16:24

know, that's a truth right there. I don't

1:16:26

think the bad batch wants to deal with. So

1:16:30

is Asaj telling the truth or is

1:16:32

she lying? I think, I personally

1:16:35

think she's telling the truth. I don't

1:16:37

think Omega necessarily has the high M

1:16:39

count, but she has

1:16:42

something about her blood. There's

1:16:44

something about her blood that

1:16:46

can withstand the injection of

1:16:49

high midichlorian infusion of blood.

1:16:51

Right. That's what I

1:16:53

feel is missing. There's something missing. I

1:16:57

fall prey to it too, because sometimes

1:17:00

the show is allowing

1:17:02

me to sort of conflate

1:17:04

the two, which is a

1:17:06

high M count versus like

1:17:08

Jim said, blood that is

1:17:10

able to clone blood, not

1:17:12

just blood, cloned blood that

1:17:14

is able to withstand the

1:17:16

infusion of high midichlorian blood.

1:17:19

I think they're two totally, I think

1:17:22

they're two totally different things. And

1:17:24

the reason that Omega

1:17:26

didn't, I think excel at these tests.

1:17:29

And I think one number two on

1:17:31

a technicality is because she's

1:17:33

not going to end up force sensitive. They're

1:17:36

going to find out something even more

1:17:39

evil is at play here. Oh,

1:17:42

evil specifically. While she

1:17:44

was created by the Kaminoans. So

1:17:47

if they were up to an evil

1:17:49

plot, I don't know what it is,

1:17:51

but maybe they were trying to develop

1:17:53

their own army of force sensitive clones.

1:17:56

And Omega was the first step in that

1:17:58

direction. They couldn't. necessarily

1:18:00

clone a connection to the

1:18:02

force, but you can take

1:18:04

a donation of

1:18:06

blood from a force sensitive,

1:18:10

inject it into a clone and

1:18:13

create a force sensitive clone. They've

1:18:16

been trying to do this over and over

1:18:18

and over again, even in

1:18:21

the future of the Star Wars

1:18:23

chronology. They're trying to do it with

1:18:25

Snoke. And it just

1:18:27

like, why

1:18:29

does he look the way he looks? I've

1:18:32

heard explanations that

1:18:35

he looks that way because he had

1:18:37

a duel with Luke Skywalker, but that's

1:18:39

never really landed in canon. I

1:18:41

think he looks the way he

1:18:43

looks because that's what happens. That's

1:18:45

as close as cloning technology has

1:18:48

gotten to creating a force sensitive

1:18:50

clone. It was Snoke and what

1:18:53

happened, it ate away at him physically.

1:18:55

That's my head canon as well. Yeah,

1:18:57

that's my head canon as well. It's

1:19:00

a great thought. Yeah. Brian, great conversation.

1:19:04

Great call. Love it.

1:19:06

Thank you so much. And thanks for being

1:19:08

a Patreon VIP. That's great.

1:19:10

And I'm sure we'll talk to you. Thanks, guys.

1:19:12

I appreciate what y'all do all the time. I'm

1:19:14

hoping maybe to get up on the 4th, on

1:19:16

May the 4th, but I don't know if I

1:19:18

can get up there. So if I can, I'd

1:19:20

love to meet y'all, but I

1:19:22

appreciate what y'all do every week. That's

1:19:24

great. We appreciate you too. Thanks so

1:19:26

much. Thank you. All right. Jim,

1:19:29

I hate to do this, but we've

1:19:32

only got three minutes until bedtime.

1:19:35

Bedtime for Blake, so we got to

1:19:37

do it. It's time for Blake's take. All

1:19:45

right, Blake's take. I hope

1:19:47

that mom and dad are letting him stay

1:19:49

up. Blake, we rolled out the red carpet.

1:19:51

We got a special jingle just for you.

1:19:53

We've got, we haven't done that. I

1:19:55

don't think we don't even do that for FJ to

1:19:58

Santo because it would be riddled with profanity. We

1:20:01

can't have an FJ Jingle,

1:20:04

but anyway, I hope that you can,

1:20:06

I thought you'd be on spring break. You're

1:20:08

not on spring break? Uh, we, last

1:20:10

week we were on spring break. Oh,

1:20:13

last week. My kids are on spring break this week.

1:20:16

All right. So it's a school night for you, right? Um,

1:20:20

yeah, but tomorrow I don't

1:20:22

have baseball practice. So it's

1:20:25

all right. It's all right. Okay.

1:20:27

Well, let's get right to it. This week. Um,

1:20:31

so first of all, I want

1:20:33

to talk about whatever I was

1:20:35

watching this. I, I got just

1:20:37

came back from baseball practice. Didn't

1:20:40

I made sure I didn't see any

1:20:42

spoilers anywhere or anything. I wanted to

1:20:45

watch bat batch and I

1:20:47

was, I told my dad drive, drive,

1:20:49

drive. I want to go watch that back. Watch

1:20:51

back back. And

1:20:55

we make it around to the beginning whenever

1:20:57

she makes it into the cave area. And

1:21:00

then I said as a joke, imagine

1:21:02

if a massage ventures is in there

1:21:05

and she just turned on her light

1:21:07

saber or something, just scares Omega. And

1:21:09

then the next thing I know a size ventures

1:21:12

comes out of the shadows. There it

1:21:14

is. And I was like,

1:21:16

I just said that a joke. I think

1:21:18

the predict that your

1:21:21

instincts are so fine tuned to

1:21:23

everything that's happening in the bad

1:21:25

batch and star Wars in general,

1:21:27

Blake, I don't know why they

1:21:29

don't invite you into the writer's

1:21:31

room and start picking your little

1:21:33

mind for awesome ideas that

1:21:36

carry star Wars into the future.

1:21:38

Help us Blake. You're our only hope.

1:21:42

I'd love to write for star Wars, man. That'd

1:21:44

be fun. Yeah. You

1:21:46

never know. And I'm going to keep encouraging

1:21:48

you to keep writing and we'll

1:21:51

see. We just a few years

1:21:53

away, we'll be, we'll

1:21:55

be calling you for a visit to

1:21:57

Skywalker. Ran. Yeah. We're

1:22:00

here to see Blake. I'll pull up to the

1:22:02

thing. I'd say the gate. I'm here to see

1:22:04

Blake Please pull right

1:22:06

forward, sir I remember

1:22:08

pulling up and saying we're here to see Dave

1:22:10

Filoni now that X will be pulling up and

1:22:12

saying we're here to see Blake that's

1:22:15

right So

1:22:18

what do you got for us this week Blake

1:22:20

you were able to figure out it was a

1:22:22

size in that cave what

1:22:24

what sort of Thoughts

1:22:26

you have regarding this episode

1:22:28

of Bad Batch the harbinger

1:22:31

um, I think this episode was

1:22:33

really good like it was phenomenal

1:22:35

and Just

1:22:37

like how Jason was talking about

1:22:39

earlier some it did feel like

1:22:41

it was like in certain parts It's

1:22:43

like kind of slow Definitely wasn't

1:22:46

slow motion like you said It's like

1:22:48

it just let you like see everything

1:22:50

that was happening in the fight Yeah,

1:22:53

they'd be parked where fighting and then

1:22:55

just and it just be a little

1:22:57

bit slower Than never she's

1:23:00

kicking in other times And

1:23:03

it was just like some parts would be super fast

1:23:05

and then other parts would slow down a little bit

1:23:08

It's kind of like it was like trying to just get in

1:23:10

between But it was

1:23:12

it was cool to watch Good

1:23:14

pacing. Yeah, all three of them had a

1:23:16

chance to draw their weapons and point them

1:23:18

at her her Finally

1:23:21

towards the end of that of that fight like

1:23:23

how many how many Bad Batch does it take

1:23:25

to take down one Asajj Ventress?

1:23:27

Well all of them Well,

1:23:30

I didn't even get a beer. No Wrecker

1:23:34

was held up in a force choke

1:23:37

Hunter was down on the ground while

1:23:39

a sash had her lightsaber and Crosshair

1:23:42

was laying on the ground Yeah,

1:23:46

this is some image here

1:23:48

and here's poor Omega. She's

1:23:50

like I brought your flower

1:24:00

My God there's unconscious hunters suspended

1:24:02

in a force choke and there's a

1:24:04

blade at hunters throat That

1:24:16

is true bike that's so funny she kicks

1:24:18

the crap out of them and She

1:24:22

comes she's like, oh, I think you guys are being a little harder

1:24:31

Omega but you know what though

1:24:33

I just I love the

1:24:35

character and she should be oh There

1:24:37

was a line here real quick Like there

1:24:40

was a line that I just loved I

1:24:42

wanted to throw out which is when they're

1:24:44

on the boat in Ventress says Something about

1:24:46

her smiling. She's like stop

1:24:48

smiling. It's it's unsettling unsettling

1:24:51

I Like did they sort of

1:24:53

break the fourth wall a little bit there on Omega

1:24:55

because she is so good. She is so sweet She

1:24:58

is so pure. But as

1:25:00

we've talked about she's earned everything along

1:25:02

the way and in my opinion in

1:25:04

our opinion but

1:25:06

I like that they're not above just kind of you

1:25:10

know opening again opening the the

1:25:12

the fourth wall and Just

1:25:15

kind of yeah a little dig at

1:25:17

Omega like oh, you're so you're so

1:25:19

pure it's sick stop smiling

1:25:23

You goody two shoes, right? Yeah,

1:25:25

that was funny. I also like to Like

1:25:29

records line whenever he says how does she

1:25:31

know we're looking at her? I Like

1:25:34

that too. I like that

1:25:36

dude. I love it because it was the moment

1:25:38

when they had told Omega

1:25:40

They wouldn't interfere in her in her

1:25:42

testing and where are they they got

1:25:44

some micro binoculars there across the street?

1:25:48

Everything Yeah,

1:25:50

look at the helicopter parents

1:25:52

right exactly funny funny

1:25:56

stuff All right, but

1:25:58

is there anything else before we? let you go

1:26:00

and we next week we got a double feature we

1:26:02

got a double batch yeah I have

1:26:05

one more thing I want to talk

1:26:07

about so no one really

1:26:09

knows they said they're gonna

1:26:11

tell us how a massage came

1:26:14

back because apparently she died from

1:26:16

the doo-koo yeah the show Jim

1:26:18

yeah Jim gave us a whole

1:26:21

prologue from the dark disciple book

1:26:23

all right um I

1:26:25

wasn't here for that I'm driving

1:26:27

home I bought him watch

1:26:31

batch and I was I

1:26:34

was just excited yeah

1:26:36

I think I have a theory on how she came

1:26:39

back okay like

1:26:42

the whole reason why thrawn is

1:26:44

back is from the night sisters

1:26:47

I think that's how she said yes

1:26:49

well the night sister revived her

1:26:51

back it's it's alluded to it's

1:26:54

alluded to a little bit in the book Jim

1:26:58

was telling about how they sort of layer in

1:27:00

the in the water right yeah

1:27:03

and that's sort of us but

1:27:05

in the book is it more about like a

1:27:07

ceremonial burial in a sense like

1:27:09

that's the well yes

1:27:11

of course you know it's just Obi-Wan

1:27:13

and Quinlan boss and they're burying her

1:27:16

you know I mean they're putting her

1:27:18

to rest in the water and it's

1:27:21

just the way that they describe

1:27:23

it the black water that just

1:27:25

you know her face was the

1:27:27

last thing you saw before she

1:27:29

fully submerged and once she went

1:27:31

under the green vapors

1:27:34

started to rise up out of

1:27:36

the water and you could hear

1:27:38

the whispers of night sisters in

1:27:40

the air I mean that

1:27:42

to me sounds like a resurrection

1:27:44

much like Ahsoka was resurrected in

1:27:47

a very similar way in episode

1:27:49

5 of the Ahsoka series when she

1:27:52

was in the world between worlds and

1:27:54

having that encounter with Anakin the last

1:27:57

thing we saw was her sink into

1:27:59

that oil black water, the last

1:28:01

thing that submerged was her face,

1:28:03

and the next thing you know,

1:28:05

she was resurrected. So I see

1:28:07

kind of a similar beat going

1:28:09

on here with the

1:28:11

end of Dark Disciple.

1:28:14

What do you think about that Blake? Yeah,

1:28:18

like those things are definitely

1:28:20

connected. They're so good. Definitely.

1:28:23

Throwing in the water and then

1:28:25

coming out like the whole water.

1:28:28

Yeah. Alright

1:28:31

buddy, I think that'll do it. We'll

1:28:34

talk to you next week, okay? Double batch

1:28:36

and we'll play your jingle again,

1:28:39

alright? Play it one more time so

1:28:41

Blake can hear it. You want to hear it, Blake? Here

1:28:43

we go. You ready? Here it is. Got

1:28:51

your own intro. Yeah,

1:28:53

I see. Like even FJ don't got that because

1:28:55

this is how you said it. Just be

1:28:57

bleep-bleep-bleep-bleep-bleep-bleep. Oh, you should have heard them

1:29:06

last week. My goodness. That's

1:29:08

what it would be. It would be this.

1:29:12

That's the FJ intro. That would be the intro.

1:29:16

That's right. All right. What

1:29:18

do you call him? The

1:29:21

potty mouth? The potty mouth

1:29:23

profit. The potty mouth

1:29:25

profit. Yeah, sure. FJ has

1:29:27

that profit or loser intro,

1:29:29

but that's not a

1:29:32

celebratory jingle to.

1:29:35

That's a game we play. Yeah.

1:29:38

But we got you a

1:29:40

jingle. Hey, I want to

1:29:42

thank RFR, you

1:29:45

know, Puppet Lando's producer, Jeff

1:29:47

Ulistney, for putting that together.

1:29:49

Jeff is a great guy

1:29:51

and a musical talent

1:29:53

in his own right. And he

1:29:56

works with Puppet Lando. So

1:29:58

he's kind of a saint. in a certain

1:30:00

way and he

1:30:03

produces all of puppet Lando's music and

1:30:05

I think there's another track on the

1:30:08

way that we should be getting

1:30:10

before May the 4th. Something's

1:30:12

about to drop. There's something out there

1:30:14

today. I've got something

1:30:17

about to drop next week.

1:30:20

Billy Mac has been in contact

1:30:22

with puppet Lando like

1:30:25

24-7. Here's the weird

1:30:27

thing about puppet is that you can't get

1:30:29

anywhere near him without going through Billy Mac.

1:30:32

Those two are

1:30:35

so attached at the hip. I

1:30:37

know it's like Bill Bixby in the

1:30:39

Incredible Hulk. Right. He's

1:30:42

a gatekeeper to puppet. So

1:30:45

yeah they've tipped me off that there's something

1:30:47

on the way but I

1:30:49

just wanted to thank Jake for putting together

1:30:52

that jingle. One more time Swank. One more

1:30:54

time. All

1:30:56

right. Well

1:30:59

we think, Blake, get

1:31:02

to bed kid. Get to bed. Hello.

1:32:44

thanks for a great show. As always, I'm super happy to

1:32:46

have announced that I'm launching my own podcast. Good for you.

1:32:49

You guys have been a massive inspiration for me to

1:32:51

do so. Keep up the great work.

1:32:53

Well, let us know what your podcast is, Mariana.

1:32:56

We'll give it a little plug here. We were

1:32:58

just talking before the show about, man, it's a,

1:33:00

it is a crowded, crowded field in the podcast

1:33:02

world, but it is a very rewarding

1:33:05

and fun way to express yourself.

1:33:07

And if you're fortunate enough and

1:33:10

I say fortunate, blessed to

1:33:12

have an audience, find an audience. It's a, it's

1:33:14

all the better. So good luck

1:33:16

to you. Uh, Jim, here's

1:33:18

somebody you know, Colin right now. We've

1:33:20

got patreon VIP suds

1:33:22

from Chicago. One

1:33:24

of the problem is Greeks, I believe here.

1:33:26

Awesome. Giving us a call. So, uh, suds,

1:33:28

welcome to the show. Chuck,

1:33:30

Chuck, gentlemen. How are you doing this?

1:33:32

Finally? Wow. Suds

1:33:35

making his after show debut.

1:33:38

This is something, uh, this has been

1:33:40

a day long. What

1:33:42

do they say? What does Tarkin

1:33:44

say right before the long remembered? Yes.

1:33:48

Long remembered. Suds

1:33:51

calling into the after show. Well, it's great

1:33:53

to hear from you. Suds, what do you

1:33:55

get? Well, before I

1:33:57

get to the point of my call.

1:34:00

I'd like to announce that I'm starting a new,

1:34:02

uh, online

1:34:04

campaign, a hashtag bring back

1:34:07

the beard. Oh,

1:34:09

look at him. I

1:34:14

look at that little baby face. Oh yeah.

1:34:16

Yeah. Looks like a shaved

1:34:19

baby squirrel. It's

1:34:22

like it's SpongeBob when they shave Sandy

1:34:25

in the tree. Or

1:34:27

have you ever seen those, um, those, those,

1:34:29

those pictures of, uh, what Chewbacca would look

1:34:32

like if he had no hair. Oh

1:34:35

God. That

1:34:39

is the stuff of nightmares. Those hairless,

1:34:41

please. I'm, I'm warning you. Don't Google

1:34:43

that. It is, you know, it'll keep

1:34:46

you up for, for days. The

1:34:49

hairless Chewbacca. Tyler, you're much

1:34:51

better that you're much better looking than that. I

1:34:53

don't know. Absolutely. I,

1:34:55

I, I would, I would

1:34:57

agree with that. I just,

1:34:59

it was, it was quite a shock,

1:35:01

quite the shock when you know,

1:35:04

it's, it's, you know,

1:35:06

it's almost as if, uh, he's,

1:35:08

you know, got rid of his,

1:35:10

uh, his super power, but, uh,

1:35:12

he's Sam settled without, without the

1:35:14

hair, but exactly. Like, man, I

1:35:16

think he looks great. I think

1:35:18

he looks great. Really concentrates grunts

1:35:21

that hair. You'll just see it literally just start to

1:35:23

grow. I think you can do it

1:35:25

on command. That's how manly he is. He

1:35:28

looks great. Bring him up for the final thoughts

1:35:30

and it's all the way back. All

1:35:33

right. So did you just call in to break balls

1:35:35

or do you have something to say about this episode?

1:35:37

No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Even

1:35:40

though I was, I really

1:35:42

liked seeing Ventress in this episode, uh,

1:35:46

even though we all knew it was common because

1:35:48

she was in the trailer, the way they kind

1:35:50

of introduced her in the

1:35:52

episode. Like Blake said, when she came

1:35:55

out of the shadows, even

1:35:57

though I knew it was common, I still did

1:35:59

one. like a, you know,

1:36:01

that it was her. I

1:36:04

really liked seeing the

1:36:06

interactions between her and

1:36:09

Omega, especially the

1:36:11

training. And it kind of led me

1:36:13

to think that, I don't wanna

1:36:15

throw this possibility out to you, that

1:36:20

future content, how

1:36:23

about an Asajj Ventress

1:36:25

Omega spin-off show where

1:36:29

Asajj is training Omega

1:36:32

to access and

1:36:34

utilize the force. They

1:36:37

get a spin-off show. We need something else though, you

1:36:40

know, to accompany that

1:36:42

story. There has to be

1:36:44

some big galactic conflict that

1:36:47

they're involved in that ties them into

1:36:49

the big picture story of the Star

1:36:51

Wars saga. It can't

1:36:53

just be about Omega in

1:36:56

Asajj. But the

1:36:58

elements alone, I think would

1:37:00

make for a compelling

1:37:03

bit of storytelling within,

1:37:06

like I said, a bigger picture story.

1:37:09

Yeah, the only,

1:37:12

as I'm talking about it, the only issue

1:37:14

I could potentially see with it is,

1:37:18

how do they, it has

1:37:20

to do with the part

1:37:22

of the timeline. That this all happens in.

1:37:25

How do they kind of crowbar that in

1:37:28

without messing with the rest

1:37:30

of the existing canon? You

1:37:33

know, I really don't think that Omega is

1:37:35

force-sensitive and can be trained at the end

1:37:37

of the day. I

1:37:40

know that they're leaving it very

1:37:42

open-ended here, but she

1:37:44

did fail two of the three tests that

1:37:47

Asajj was doing. She

1:37:50

got a 30%. She got a 33% on

1:37:52

the test, so overall. As crude as

1:37:54

those tests were, she

1:37:57

doesn't really step up and

1:37:59

like. Without a doubt that

1:38:01

because I would say to myself,

1:38:03

this is greats they're forming, We

1:38:06

are dressing. Viel. Mehr.

1:38:08

Go for senses. It's sensitivity

1:38:10

question we've had since season

1:38:12

One. There's your finally addressing

1:38:14

this. And. I'd say that

1:38:17

we saw Yeah, like Jason said,

1:38:19

thirty percent. So that's a failure

1:38:21

rate in whatever educational institutions you

1:38:23

want to run through. thirty percent

1:38:25

that get except for Major league

1:38:28

baseball. third person is what rates

1:38:30

as a batting average. But other

1:38:32

than that, but guys, think about

1:38:34

this. those your size ventures. And

1:38:37

you get contacted by setting san and

1:38:39

it's the question about the are these

1:38:41

these These. Former. Clones

1:38:44

wealth because the current ones but former.

1:38:47

Soldiers that are asking these questions about

1:38:49

this kid and this m town in

1:38:51

your sergey like okay had go see

1:38:53

what's going on here and then you

1:38:55

you know that she's being hunted by

1:38:57

the empire and you conclude. That. She

1:38:59

does not have a high and count. Aren't

1:39:02

your wheels gonna be spinning like what's

1:39:04

really at the heart of this wire?

1:39:06

the after This So. We'll

1:39:09

see be the one potentially to connect

1:39:11

the dots out of her own curiosity

1:39:13

and her own appetite for revenge against

1:39:15

Palpatine. In the says we'll see be

1:39:17

the one to connect the dots. To

1:39:19

say no, this isn't about her being

1:39:22

force sensitive are having a hi i'm

1:39:24

town it's about her blood being capable

1:39:26

of. Perhaps. Or

1:39:28

her body. Been it's

1:39:31

been capable of in be

1:39:33

inhabited by someone who is

1:39:35

super. High medical or

1:39:37

encounter something I guess we'll see be like

1:39:40

when opposite get like properties will see be

1:39:42

the one to connect those dots. Will this

1:39:44

continue to ruminate in her mind of or

1:39:46

I I've tested the kids is not high

1:39:48

but yet seized. Top. Of the

1:39:50

list of the Empire why. I'm

1:39:53

now money to me is voicing what

1:39:55

a lot of people have said in

1:39:57

an in what the bad batch themselves

1:39:59

believe. Would you? He's bluffing. I'm.

1:40:02

Not convinced she's blessing. But

1:40:04

that's. That's the part of the fun

1:40:06

is all this about. He isn't. Yeah.

1:40:10

That's kind of. The feeling that I got

1:40:12

was that she's. She's.

1:40:14

Bluffing she was be an awfully

1:40:16

kg and aloud. Whether.

1:40:19

Or not. Omega. Has.

1:40:23

A Hi I'm not going to say i'm

1:40:25

com that a Korean counts. Or

1:40:27

not or just years. she was

1:40:30

just disappears he said because I'm

1:40:32

not saying I'm going with she

1:40:34

was the ads Doozy Can and

1:40:36

I'm sticking with a Lucasarts. I'm

1:40:39

science. Listen to me roar. Certain.

1:40:45

Max posted a little bit was here because

1:40:47

he knows sides real wells with those. a

1:40:49

1:41:16

1:41:18

1:41:20

Love? Yeah, We do. We do

1:41:22

1:41:24

Ah, Alex

1:41:26

also with that our patrons by the

1:41:28

way this is so great! Thank you

1:41:31

are so much for Vienna Patreon supporters

1:41:33

on this is Alex from West Virginia.

1:41:35

He wants to get on the A

1:41:37

Sarge Ventures. Talk. Was.

1:41:39

To get in on it. Hello

1:41:42

Alex. Alex. A gun

1:41:44

as. Raid my

1:41:46

surveys a crystal see and I get

1:41:48

into some conversation year. Servers.

1:41:51

I saw some are suggesting that

1:41:53

that is jumped the shark already.

1:41:56

Have we warned that out? Too much

1:41:59

surveys? A result. It's only been a couple of

1:42:01

weeks. My god people are still making

1:42:03

a rap joke Can

1:42:06

we have surveys of crystal for maybe a month?

1:42:08

We can have it It'll

1:42:11

never eternity. I like the way you I

1:42:13

like the cutter your gym. So what do

1:42:15

you think about this episode? I want

1:42:17

to practice everything. I'm about to say with the lens

1:42:19

of I have Adored the

1:42:22

writing of this season of Bad Batch.

1:42:24

They have Largely

1:42:26

earned everything that they do

1:42:28

in the writing But

1:42:31

I question that to a degree because

1:42:34

of Ventress's return. It's

1:42:36

not that I don't want to see

1:42:38

Ventress back and I believe that it

1:42:40

can be done effectively. I Wrote

1:42:44

along with the mall revival and

1:42:46

the Palpatine revival and while I

1:42:48

would have liked explanations for these

1:42:50

things It's fiction

1:42:52

it can happen so I can let that go

1:42:54

and the difference that

1:42:57

I see between their revivals and

1:42:59

that eventress is that No

1:43:02

other character could have filled the role that

1:43:05

Palpatine or mall filled When

1:43:08

they were brought back, there's no one else that could do

1:43:10

it. Whereas Ventress From what

1:43:12

we see in the Bad Batch looking at

1:43:14

that in a vacuum I

1:43:16

don't see why another character

1:43:19

could not have taken that

1:43:21

role whether it be a Foka

1:43:23

or as I have seen others

1:43:26

suggest Quinlan Voss who have a

1:43:28

definite Ventress connection You could achieve

1:43:30

a similar story

1:43:32

as to what we saw in this episode

1:43:35

Well, I want to push back just a

1:43:37

little bit on you Alex here because

1:43:39

I opened I opened the show by saying

1:43:42

She was the perfect character to

1:43:45

deliver ambiguity

1:43:47

half truths That

1:43:49

we sort of get in this episode

1:43:51

I would expect more clarity

1:43:54

and Decisive

1:43:57

answers from a Quinlan

1:44:00

Voss or certainly

1:44:02

from an Ahsoka Tano. So

1:44:04

I feel as though that

1:44:07

she was perfect because the writers,

1:44:09

I'm hoping, are putting some layers

1:44:11

in here to where it's not

1:44:13

so on the nose obvious. I

1:44:16

will recant what

1:44:18

I'm saying here. If it turns

1:44:20

out that everything is literal and

1:44:22

Omega's force sensitive, Asajj is lying,

1:44:24

if everything turns out to be

1:44:26

a literal, a literal

1:44:29

interpretation of the dialogue and the

1:44:31

events that we're seeing, I will come back and I will

1:44:33

see, you know what? Alex was right. It turns out a

1:44:36

Ventress was just a roll of

1:44:38

the dice. Uh, and it wasn't

1:44:40

necessarily the perfect choice,

1:44:42

but I still feel

1:44:45

that she's such a sneaky,

1:44:47

sneaky character that that's

1:44:49

why she was put in here. So that,

1:44:51

that that's my pushback on this. I

1:44:53

could see that. Um, like

1:44:56

you said, it's something that has to play

1:44:58

out. We either have to see it in

1:45:00

the themes or maybe she

1:45:02

turns up again to reveal some

1:45:05

negative truth that we've yet

1:45:07

to see. Yeah. You

1:45:09

know, you're right though. When you say that,

1:45:11

uh, they

1:45:13

could have easily brought back Darth Maul to

1:45:16

fill this role. And he actually

1:45:19

has more of a purpose in this era than

1:45:21

the previously thought dead

1:45:24

as Ahsoka Ventress does. What's

1:45:27

the difference? I mean,

1:45:29

they both serve similar purposes. I

1:45:33

think it was just the storytellers

1:45:35

desire to bring a sarge back

1:45:37

because they, they

1:45:40

see a lot of potential in the character.

1:45:42

Yeah. Darth Maul has been kind of, I

1:45:45

just don't want to embody

1:45:48

a trope. And

1:45:50

you run into that danger with Darth

1:45:52

Maul and you have been ever since,

1:45:55

I mean, you got the season seven of

1:45:58

the clone wars with Darth Maul. a

1:46:00

heavy role in that. He's still around

1:46:03

in the solo era, inexplicably.

1:46:07

But there he is. And

1:46:12

he's a criminal warlord or a

1:46:15

gangster at the very least. I

1:46:19

think Asaj, she's more

1:46:21

of a free agent at this

1:46:23

point in time. She's serving a

1:46:26

bounty on her role, so that

1:46:28

explains her connection to Fennec Shand.

1:46:30

And she's running in similar circles.

1:46:33

Darth Maul doesn't run around with bounty hunters,

1:46:35

for crying out loud. I mean, he hires

1:46:37

them, sure, but he's

1:46:40

more of a godfather type in this

1:46:42

era of Star Wars. A dineo. It's

1:46:46

kind of hard for him to lay

1:46:48

low, I think, when he's running the

1:46:50

Black Sun Syndicate. Asaj

1:46:53

is a free agent. She works

1:46:55

for herself. She is

1:46:57

an individual. So I think

1:46:59

it's easier to slot her in instead

1:47:01

of someone like Maul. Perhaps.

1:47:04

But the thing is, you

1:47:06

still have to do the mental gymnastics of

1:47:09

storytelling to bring a dead

1:47:11

character back to life. And again, they

1:47:13

can write that off however they so

1:47:15

desire, but they can only do it

1:47:18

so many times before the audience identifies

1:47:20

it as a trope that no one

1:47:22

really dies. I looked to something

1:47:25

like Marvel where Spider-Man's Uncle

1:47:28

Ben, he's that one character that

1:47:30

outside of alternate realities is

1:47:32

always one that stays dead.

1:47:35

So you got to have some groundedness

1:47:38

somewhere in this. I don't know quite where

1:47:40

that line has to be drawn. I get

1:47:43

you, Alex. I

1:47:45

understand what you're saying. The trope of

1:47:47

bringing back a dead character versus

1:47:49

Asaj Ventress herself being a trope, something

1:47:52

like that. Yeah. I think you're I

1:47:54

agree with you. I think that there that is a danger

1:47:57

though. If we're going to open up. the

1:48:00

action figure collector's

1:48:02

case and

1:48:04

pull the character out that fits the

1:48:07

necessary plot points here, I would

1:48:10

have pulled that Asajj Ventress action figure out

1:48:12

of the box. I really would have.

1:48:16

And that's somehow, you know, sometimes that's how my

1:48:18

brain works. I literally picture

1:48:20

the Darth Vader collector case

1:48:23

and, you know, the writers. By the way, if I

1:48:25

was a Star Wars writer, that's exactly, I'd write all

1:48:28

my shows that way. I think

1:48:30

Filoni still does operate from

1:48:32

that sort of vibe, you

1:48:34

know, where, eh, you

1:48:37

know, if I was going to open the toy box,

1:48:39

he would be in there and ready to roll

1:48:42

for this story. And Dave does just

1:48:44

that up in his head. Right,

1:48:46

right. Alex, great call, man. Thanks

1:48:48

so much. Really appreciate it.

1:48:51

Thanks for being a Patreon supporter. All

1:48:54

the calls tonight have just

1:48:56

been phenomenal, fantastic. You guys

1:48:58

are just absolutely, truly,

1:49:01

we say it a lot, but absolutely mean it. The

1:49:03

best Star Wars fans out there, RFR

1:49:06

listeners. I just love

1:49:08

that we can sit and we can talk. Star

1:49:11

Wars and the merits of the storytelling

1:49:13

and the writing and the characters and

1:49:15

the situations is so refreshing in a

1:49:18

polarized age

1:49:20

where people are just, you know, throwing

1:49:23

all kinds of garbage into their

1:49:25

conversations. This is just great Star Wars

1:49:27

talk. And that's what we love to

1:49:29

bring you here on Rebel Force Radio.

1:49:32

A huge, huge thanks to our call

1:49:34

screener, Tyler Page. Beard or no beard.

1:49:36

He's the best call screener in

1:49:39

the podcast biz. I believe he's just

1:49:41

absolutely the best. Tyler, a

1:49:43

lot of fantastic calls. We didn't get to

1:49:45

all of them this week, but

1:49:48

anything in particular that we

1:49:50

left unspoken, unmentioned,

1:49:54

unrepolved. Yeah,

1:49:56

I think there's a couple of things. One caller

1:49:58

brought up. Oh really? Well

1:50:00

tell us Mr. Co-host. What did we

1:50:02

get to? You

1:50:07

guys only have so much time. There's so much

1:50:10

content in this little 27 minute episode. You

1:50:14

guys can keep going for hours I'm sure.

1:50:17

But yeah, we

1:50:19

had one caller point out that

1:50:21

they recreated a Bruce Lee scene,

1:50:24

Beat for Beat. Oh

1:50:26

really? From Way of the Dragon when

1:50:28

Asajj was doing her hand-hand combat.

1:50:31

Yeah. Damien here was going

1:50:33

to talk about that. Sorry

1:50:35

Damien. Ooooh. Yeah. I

1:50:38

was going to do side by side comparisons of

1:50:40

this. That's a good call. That's amazing. We

1:50:42

got to get Marku on. He's a

1:50:44

Bruce Lee expert. RFR's

1:50:47

Jedi Master Yogi, we got to get him

1:50:49

on. He can talk about that. He is

1:50:52

a Bruce Lee expert but that's

1:50:54

really interesting that people were picking up on

1:50:56

that. That's where they took

1:50:58

the choreography for that great fight scene.

1:51:01

From Way of the Dragon? Wow.

1:51:04

Yeah. That's amazing. I

1:51:07

know what I'm doing when this show is over. Good

1:51:11

little pick up. And then I thought of

1:51:13

when she tells Omega to go climb that

1:51:15

mountain and get the flower. I couldn't help

1:51:18

but think of the Edelweiss flower from

1:51:21

German military history where

1:51:24

the Nazis would have to, you know,

1:51:26

their strongest warriors would climb the mountain and pick

1:51:28

the flower and then they'd wear it as a

1:51:30

badge of honor. But

1:51:33

yeah, I thought that was... Here, my son

1:51:35

Tyler was going to throw down a sound of music

1:51:37

reference and he went into... I

1:51:40

thought I'd sit there too. I thought I'd get

1:51:42

off. Oh, my. Oh,

1:51:47

my. Great Christopher

1:51:49

Plummer out there, Diddy back. Thank

1:51:52

you. Wow. Those are good things. I regret

1:51:54

that we didn't get to them. You

1:51:57

know, it's so interesting the way these after shows go.

1:52:00

Sometimes there's episodes that people are just

1:52:02

like, eh, you know, they're just kind

1:52:04

of casual about it. And then there's

1:52:06

an episode like this where, man,

1:52:08

everybody was just coming up with great thoughts,

1:52:10

great theories, great observations, great

1:52:13

calls. We could have probably

1:52:15

gone another hour, but we've got more

1:52:17

Rebel Force radio coming at you later this week with

1:52:19

the weekly show. But

1:52:21

Tyler, as always, we appreciate it. Thank you so much.

1:52:24

Beard or no beard? Is that everything?

1:52:26

Oh, did we make that? That's it for me.

1:52:28

Okay. Oh, okay. All

1:52:31

right. I just want to

1:52:33

make sure you're going out on Edelweiss. All

1:52:35

right, Tyler. Thanks,

1:52:37

buddy. Appreciate it. Thanks.

1:52:40

Jimmy Mack. Wow. Oh,

1:52:42

you know what? get

1:52:45

through. Qui-Con Jay says, there

1:52:47

were a few instances in this episode

1:52:49

where Ventress seemed to be caught off

1:52:51

guard by Omega's kindness and it made

1:52:54

for some nice development for her character.

1:52:56

Yes, this show has moments

1:52:58

character development in spades. I

1:53:00

love it. And yeah, there's

1:53:03

no question that it's good. Well,

1:53:05

you know, I think Omega has proven

1:53:07

herself to be one of

1:53:09

the most flexible characters

1:53:11

as far as having chemistry

1:53:14

with other characters. Yes. I

1:53:16

mean, she has chemistry with

1:53:18

every single one of

1:53:21

the Bad Batch. She has

1:53:24

chemistry with Asajj Ventress just

1:53:26

meeting her. There were

1:53:28

great little moments Ventress called

1:53:30

Omega. She said, you're

1:53:33

an odd little clone. You

1:53:35

know, I mean, that's just a perfect example of

1:53:37

that chemistry and that when

1:53:39

she said her smile

1:53:42

was unsettling. I mean, those are

1:53:44

just great little character moments like

1:53:47

you brought up earlier, Jason. Yeah.

1:53:49

I agree. She

1:53:51

says even with her ruthless demeanor, Ventress exhibiting

1:53:53

moments of sympathy and resilience is very endearing

1:53:55

to me. RFR number one. Tanya is also

1:53:58

in the chat each and every week. So

1:54:00

thank you, Tanya. And yeah,

1:54:03

Ventress, again, one of those anti-heroes

1:54:05

that we love when

1:54:07

we sort of root for. Mac was saying that

1:54:10

he really hadn't in the past, but this

1:54:12

might have been the kind of a turnaround

1:54:15

where you're rooting for a massage Ventress. Yeah,

1:54:17

that is true. That is true. I

1:54:20

found myself rooting for her in this book, Dark

1:54:23

Disciple, and again in

1:54:25

this episode. And she shows sympathy, she

1:54:27

shows empathy, she

1:54:30

shows all the things. And

1:54:32

it's interesting

1:54:34

to see the character move forward. I

1:54:37

mean, the last time we

1:54:40

saw a massage Ventress 10

1:54:42

years ago. No way, really?

1:54:44

It was a little more in season five, yeah.

1:54:47

It was 10 years ago. So I mean, it doesn't

1:54:50

seem like that much time has gone by, but

1:54:53

a massage just slides right back

1:54:55

in and we're more

1:54:58

than happy to welcome her

1:55:00

back. Lone Star Nat

1:55:03

says, RFR number one. I

1:55:06

think they will tie Ventress and

1:55:08

potentially Omega into

1:55:10

the path. The

1:55:13

path. The path. The

1:55:15

path, that sounds like something from a book.

1:55:19

Path, what is this? The path. Is it, did

1:55:21

they talk about that in Kenobi? Where sort of

1:55:24

the underground railroad road for

1:55:27

sensitive and Jedi? I think that's exactly

1:55:29

what it is. Yes, because

1:55:31

of course, you know, I mean, we

1:55:35

had a mention of Quinlan

1:55:37

Vons in the Kenobi series.

1:55:41

And the hidden path

1:55:43

was the secret underground network. His symbol was

1:55:45

etched, right? His symbol was etched or something

1:55:47

like that? Yes, and Obi-Wan

1:55:50

was like, oh yeah, I know that

1:55:52

guy. He fell around, he's

1:55:54

still at work. And

1:55:56

with the connection between Ventress

1:55:59

and Quinlan. boss, a

1:56:02

reunion between those two would

1:56:04

be really something worth

1:56:06

following up on. The

1:56:08

Hidden Path is the

1:56:10

secret underground network that worked

1:56:14

with people who were sympathetic to

1:56:16

the Jedi Order and they were

1:56:18

using it to smuggle

1:56:20

and hide Jedi who

1:56:23

were living life on the down low because

1:56:25

of Order 66. So

1:56:30

they required a little bit of

1:56:32

help and Quinlan Boss was definitely

1:56:34

an active member of that support

1:56:37

system. Turtle Wars, boy

1:56:39

we didn't get to this, we

1:56:42

had great conversation, we didn't get to the

1:56:45

monster of the week here but Turtle Wars

1:56:48

is telling us in case we

1:56:50

don't get far enough into the episode to talk much

1:56:52

about the sea monster, it was a very cool mash

1:56:54

up of various types of cephalopods, the

1:56:56

mouth was a near exact replica

1:56:58

of a giant squid's beak. Turtle Wars

1:57:01

is a great friend of the show, thanks very

1:57:03

much, appreciate it. And

1:57:05

there is an RFR Q&A right Jim with Turtle

1:57:07

Wars, a couple of them,

1:57:10

but we're looking at

1:57:14

turtles I believe in one. Well no it's

1:57:16

not just that, but he does have some

1:57:18

amazing turtle therapy. He

1:57:22

has some amazing turtle terrapin

1:57:24

tie ins to Star Wars

1:57:26

and it's really good stuff.

1:57:29

The big creature, the

1:57:32

Leviathan is referred

1:57:34

to, it has

1:57:37

a name in this lore universe. The

1:57:41

Verathean per the subtitles. At

1:57:44

one point it says

1:57:46

Verathean Growls and

1:57:49

that was that Ventress

1:57:51

summoned that thing along with those

1:57:53

luminescent green stingrays.

1:58:00

Yeah, say that five times. I think it would

1:58:02

be amazing to drop some of those into the

1:58:04

Chicago River on St. Patrick's. That

1:58:06

would be a oot. But

1:58:09

along with those stingrays, she

1:58:11

also summoned the Baratheon. And

1:58:15

tamed it. And when she tamed it, Omega

1:58:17

says, you actually did

1:58:20

it. And Asar says, don't act

1:58:22

so surprised. And I thought for

1:58:24

sure it would be

1:58:26

a follow-up to that conversation. It ended

1:58:28

right there. But I thought the follow-up

1:58:30

should have been Omega saying, I

1:58:33

don't believe it. And then Asar saying, that

1:58:35

is why you failed. Oh, that would have

1:58:37

been a great callback. That would have been

1:58:39

a great callback. It would have been a

1:58:41

great one. And in the early days of

1:58:44

the Clone Wars, maybe something like that would

1:58:46

have happened. I don't think we get those

1:58:48

sort of dialogue Easter eggs or

1:58:50

callbacks. You're right. Not as much. As

1:58:52

much as we used to. Yeah. Star

1:58:55

Wars animation has established itself so

1:58:58

much since 2008. And

1:59:01

the debut of the Clone Wars,

1:59:03

maybe the creators don't feel like

1:59:05

they necessarily need to give

1:59:07

us those little member berries. Right.

1:59:10

But I thought that would have been interesting

1:59:13

if Asar and Omega had

1:59:15

that same dialogue

1:59:17

back and forth that

1:59:19

Luke and Yoda did on

1:59:21

Dagobah. But it didn't. I

1:59:24

certainly appreciate Turtle Wars throwing

1:59:27

out like names, words like

1:59:29

Cephalopod, etc. I just

1:59:32

love this character, Turtlepuss. Because

1:59:34

he had a turtle shell and an

1:59:36

octopus beak. Oh,

1:59:38

to me, this will always be

1:59:41

Turtlepuss. Turtlepuss. Will

1:59:43

that have the shelf life that Hog

1:59:46

Squaddle had when Kyle Newman came up

1:59:48

with that name? We'll

1:59:51

have to think about that. Turtlepuss. I like

1:59:53

it. I like it. Alright,

1:59:55

well if there's anything left, Jim, it's

1:59:57

all yours. Your final thoughts this week.

2:00:00

Alright, final thoughts. Season

2:00:03

3, Episode 9, the Harbinger. The

2:00:05

Harbinger. First thought I

2:00:08

had was, is record losing weight? Is

2:00:11

it Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig,

2:00:13

Osambe? Maybe? It

2:00:16

seems like record seemed a little more slimmed

2:00:18

down, right? Maybe it's just

2:00:20

because he wasn't wearing the bulky

2:00:22

clone trooper armor. He was

2:00:25

more in his equivalent of

2:00:27

a Star Wars tracksuit or

2:00:30

something. But I

2:00:33

was wondering, I think records slimmed down a

2:00:35

little bit. With

2:00:37

all this talk about m-counts, I

2:00:39

started thinking about all the different

2:00:41

types of blood that exist. Type

2:00:43

A, Type B, Type AB, Type

2:00:45

O. You have your positive, you

2:00:47

have your negative. But I would

2:00:49

just love to fill out that

2:00:51

form at the DMV when I

2:00:53

get my driver's license and say,

2:00:55

I'm Type M. See

2:00:58

if that flies. I don't think it will. Those

2:01:02

little, oh, those little, we

2:01:04

didn't talk about those little tiny,

2:01:06

chittering creatures on

2:01:08

Pabu that Batcher

2:01:11

chased into the

2:01:14

cave. They are

2:01:16

revealed to be known as

2:01:18

Moonyos. Moonyos.

2:01:21

And that was something I

2:01:23

learned from the subtitles. It

2:01:26

says something like Moonyos, Chitter. And

2:01:29

then Lurkerhound took off

2:01:31

after, I think, you know, Batcher the Lurker.

2:01:34

I saw him chase those

2:01:36

Moonyos and I was thinking

2:01:38

about the way my dog chases a

2:01:40

rabbit. You know? My

2:01:42

dog, he'll ignore all sorts

2:01:45

of wildlife. Squirrels, whatever.

2:01:47

They can walk right across his

2:01:49

path. Even a cat. But

2:01:53

you present a rabbit to that

2:01:55

dog, he goes crazy. And I

2:01:57

got similar vibes watching the Lurker.

2:02:00

hound batcher chasing the moon

2:02:02

yolks. All right. Oh,

2:02:04

it's hot. She had a brand new starship.

2:02:07

It had two wings. One was longer than

2:02:09

the other. I thought it

2:02:11

would like when she took off in flight, I

2:02:13

thought it was going to sort

2:02:15

of rotate around like the B wing

2:02:18

does. But it

2:02:20

didn't. I mean, she just took off with the one

2:02:22

wing larger than the other. So

2:02:24

you're scratching my head trying to figure

2:02:26

out the aerodynamic purpose of that. You

2:02:29

know what? This is Star Wars and physics don't

2:02:31

matter. Let's

2:02:34

see. Once safely

2:02:37

on board the Havoc Marauder after

2:02:40

the encounter with the...

2:02:43

What do you call that thing, Jason? The... That

2:02:46

big creature in the water?

2:02:49

The Vrathian. Vrathian. No,

2:02:51

no, no. What's your name for it? Oh,

2:02:54

I call it Turtlepuss. Turtlepuss. I'm

2:02:57

trying to establish that. Sorry.

2:02:59

Yeah, Turtlepuss. The Star Wars fan

2:03:01

community swings. Forget Vrathian ever

2:03:03

existed. From now on, Vrathian is

2:03:05

Turtlepuss. And I thought,

2:03:07

you know, after that encounter with Turtlepuss, Omega

2:03:10

got on board the Havoc Marauder. First

2:03:12

thing she says is, that was fun.

2:03:17

She's a thrill-seeker, man. I

2:03:19

love Omega. And I

2:03:21

love, like I said, the chemistry she

2:03:23

seems to have with any character that

2:03:25

gets put in her path. Emery,

2:03:29

I'll say, she has chemistry with all of

2:03:31

them. And just

2:03:34

a great, really flexible character

2:03:36

who seems to be continually

2:03:39

evolving episode to episode. We

2:03:42

did get some foreshadowing from Massage Ventress toward

2:03:44

the end of the episode, when she warns

2:03:47

the bad batch to leave

2:03:49

Paboon. She's worried.

2:03:52

She isn't worried about the Empire because

2:03:54

she says she still has a few

2:03:56

lives, which might indicate

2:03:58

something to her. us about

2:04:01

the way Nightsisters can cheat death.

2:04:06

And that might come into play

2:04:08

when they explain how Sarge has

2:04:11

been able to cheat death. But

2:04:13

she does warn the Bad Batch

2:04:16

to get away from Pabu. And

2:04:19

so let's see in the next episode if

2:04:21

they take her advice. I predict they don't.

2:04:25

And the Empire is going to find

2:04:27

them on Pabu. If

2:04:30

Sarge could find the Bad Batch,

2:04:32

I'm sure the Empire can as

2:04:34

well. Speaking of the Empire,

2:04:37

where's Grand Moff Tarkin been this

2:04:39

season? Hello? Has anybody checked

2:04:41

on Steven Stan to see if he's okay? I'm

2:04:43

sure he is. I'm sure he's doing great. And

2:04:46

I believe we will see Tarkin before this

2:04:48

season is over. But I miss him. I

2:04:51

miss Dr. Hemlock and the gang on Mount

2:04:54

Tantus. I want to get back involved in

2:04:56

the big picture. This

2:04:58

whole quest to buy

2:05:00

the Bad Batch to get more

2:05:02

information about M-town, etc. I think

2:05:05

it's reached its peak. And

2:05:07

now it's time to get back involved. Big

2:05:10

picture story. What's

2:05:15

going on with the Clones that are being kept

2:05:17

there and experimented on? Will

2:05:19

the Bad Batch and their

2:05:22

fellow Clone Troopers who are

2:05:25

out there under the command of Captain Rax

2:05:27

and Echo these days, will they be able

2:05:29

to come together to make a

2:05:31

raid on Mount Tantus? That's where I think

2:05:34

this season is heading. It

2:05:36

doesn't really matter what the Bad

2:05:38

Batch learned about Omega and

2:05:41

her connection to the M-town thing

2:05:43

because it's not going to change anything

2:05:46

they do in

2:05:48

relation to her. They're not going to turn her

2:05:50

over just like Crosshair said. More

2:05:53

information is for

2:05:56

all of you out there who said, I didn't learn

2:05:58

nothing in this episode. was

2:06:00

all about bringing Asajj Ventress back into

2:06:02

the fold and explaining a little

2:06:04

bit more about Omega. So we

2:06:07

got that in this episode. Whether or not

2:06:09

it was definitive, it doesn't really matter, you

2:06:12

can't call this episode no way, Hose.

2:06:14

Again, I want to thank Jeff Ulyssny,

2:06:17

Puffin Lando's producer for

2:06:19

creating a Shakespeare or

2:06:21

a Playstate theme. Why

2:06:24

do I call him Jake from home from

2:06:26

the missiles? But, you know,

2:06:28

the show is now well

2:06:30

over the two hour mark. Anything

2:06:33

I say, I can't be held accountable

2:06:35

for. Hose. Puffin Pig, not in this

2:06:37

episode. One more thing. RFR this Saturday, we do

2:06:39

have a weekly show for you guys. You're not

2:06:41

going to want to miss it. We've got some

2:06:43

cool surprises for you. It's going to be a

2:06:46

lot of fun. All

2:06:48

right, Jim, we've

2:06:50

got, let's see, Leo. Leo is

2:06:53

asking, can we have a Jedi

2:06:55

Survivor update before the sign off?

2:06:58

Still plugging away. Yeah.

2:07:01

Cal Kestis. I'm

2:07:04

still working with him and we're

2:07:06

moving slowly, but surely.

2:07:08

I really have

2:07:10

only had about half an hour

2:07:12

to an hour each week to play the

2:07:14

game. And I

2:07:17

mean, it has become part of my

2:07:19

schedule now, especially on weekends. I

2:07:22

carve away at least an hour or

2:07:24

so to play the game, but maybe

2:07:27

we'll get there before 2026 or

2:07:29

before the next Jedi whatever

2:07:32

game comes up. You

2:07:34

see, I think I know why this question was

2:07:36

asked. And Jeff Holland brings it up.

2:07:39

He says, darn, no RFR bingo

2:07:41

got very close. Here's

2:07:43

what I think. I think they just

2:07:45

wanted to see if you were going

2:07:48

to say Cal Kestis, because if you

2:07:50

download the, uh, the RFR bingo card,

2:07:52

which is available at on the official

2:07:55

Facebook group, see if I can bring

2:07:57

it up here. I don't know. And on Patreon. Oh, it

2:07:59

is on Patreon here. Here it is, yes. This

2:08:01

was created for

2:08:06

the official RFR Facebook group

2:08:08

from a loyal RFR listener,

2:08:10

Paul Davlo. He

2:08:13

did a great job creating this little bingo

2:08:17

card, and we shared it with

2:08:19

our Patreon audience. Some

2:08:23

of the squares

2:08:25

on the bingo

2:08:28

card, some of them

2:08:30

include Jason saying, my good

2:08:32

friend and yours from Chicago, well that's a given.

2:08:36

Tale of the Tape, that's a

2:08:38

given. Blake Steak is another square.

2:08:40

Eric from Phoenix calling in. First

2:08:42

time caller, Chut Chut. Cal

2:08:44

Ketsis, my famous mispronunciation of

2:08:47

the protagonist from Jedi Fallen

2:08:49

Order and Jedi Survivor. Cal

2:08:52

Ketsis, if I say that, you

2:08:54

score in bingo. There's a

2:08:56

Dave Filoni impersonation on the show. We

2:08:59

plug Factor. Turtle Wars gets

2:09:01

a shout out from the Super Chat.

2:09:03

Hey, there's a bingo, there's a square

2:09:05

right there. Words

2:09:07

of Wisdom from Tyler Page,

2:09:09

full switchboard. Mentioning Curb

2:09:11

Your Enthusiasm, not this week. F.J.

2:09:14

DeSanto swearing, not this week. Patreon

2:09:17

plug, of course. Go to

2:09:19

2:09:28

you get to the front of the line if

2:09:30

you're calling into the show. Complimenting

2:09:33

Tyler's beard, RIP. Stephen

2:09:36

Stanton calling in. The

2:09:40

phone number, this episode was too dark.

2:09:42

There's a winner for this week. Meat

2:09:48

on the bone. I did not say

2:09:50

that this week. I do say that,

2:09:52

yeah, but meat, there was meat on

2:09:54

the bone, but I didn't feel like

2:09:57

it was necessary to amplify it in

2:09:59

my. analysis this week. Puff a Pig

2:10:02

not in this episode every week and

2:10:04

oh yeah sure you know. We

2:10:09

got one of those this week too

2:10:11

and you know me and Swank we

2:10:13

don't know if it's gonna happen and

2:10:15

it happens and we should play the

2:10:18

bingo as well. So there's the RFR

2:10:20

bingo card and you can find

2:10:22

it, download it and play at home if

2:10:24

you're a member of the official Rebel Force

2:10:27

Radio Facebook page or RFR

2:10:29

on Patreon. I

2:10:33

love it you know Jeff Holland is

2:10:35

sort of our resident, he's sort of

2:10:37

the statistician of RFR and

2:10:39

I think we just had the longest

2:10:41

sign off in the history of Rebel

2:10:43

Force Radio after shows. Oh

2:10:45

no there's been longer one. Really I don't know man

2:10:47

we've looped, I think we're on

2:10:50

our third loop of the outro music

2:10:52

so we might have a record winner with

2:10:55

this one but it was just too good we

2:10:57

had to get it all in there. Yeah you

2:10:59

know it's all so good and I'm

2:11:01

looking at my notes just to make sure I

2:11:03

didn't leave anything behind. There was something that made

2:11:05

me think of mortis. Oh yes when

2:11:08

Asajj says nature responds to

2:11:10

a force user's energy I

2:11:13

don't think we've ever had it like spelled

2:11:16

out for us with such

2:11:18

clarity in the past but

2:11:20

I thought about mortis when

2:11:22

they're walking through mortis and

2:11:24

the seasons are changing around

2:11:26

them. I was like that's

2:11:28

kind of a mortis thing having

2:11:31

nature respond to the energy

2:11:34

you know. I mean we've seen force users

2:11:37

use the force to summon things just

2:11:39

like in this episode when they bring

2:11:41

on a turtle puss. What do we

2:11:43

call that? Turtle puss.

2:11:46

You know we see Asajj you

2:11:48

know call out to it but

2:11:50

to just see the force responding

2:11:53

to a force user's energy without

2:11:55

the force user actually extracting

2:11:57

that or not extracting of

2:12:01

producing that energy on purpose.

2:12:04

We see it in Mortis. You know, I'll just

2:12:06

watch when, in that first episode, when they're walking

2:12:08

through Mortis and the seasons

2:12:10

are changing, like right in front of

2:12:12

them. Oh yeah. They're

2:12:15

walking along. It's like my commute from

2:12:17

Canton to Cleveland. I see all four

2:12:19

seasons in that commute every day. It's

2:12:21

really amazing. In

2:12:23

one drive? In one drive,

2:12:25

yeah. He sees all four

2:12:27

seasons and goes through about

2:12:29

ten mood changes. All right,

2:12:31

I think we're done. We're

2:12:34

out. Thanks for all the great questions.

2:12:36

And the bingo card was lots of fun. We will see

2:12:38

you later this week on the Rebel

2:12:41

Force Radio Weekly Podcast. Huge

2:12:43

thanks to Tyler Page, as always.

2:12:45

He's so great. And all the

2:12:48

great calls. All of our Patreon

2:12:50

2:12:57

week, it's a double batch, which means we will be

2:13:01

night, next week, for two episodes,

2:13:03

we'll be looking at no regular

2:13:05

RFR podcast next week, but be

2:13:07

here Saturday for that drop. We're

2:13:10

out of here. We will see you next

2:13:12

time on Rebel Force Radio in

2:13:14

the Bed Batch After Show. Love you all so

2:13:16

much. For RFR, my name is Jason and I'm

2:13:18

Jimmy Mack. And remember, the Force

2:13:21

2:13:24

didn't pause for the I'm Jimmy Mack? Oh,

2:13:26

no, I paused. Should

2:13:28

we do it again? There's a short pause. All right.

2:13:31

Oh, no. You sure? I'm

2:13:33

Jimmy Mack. Is the moment over, Jim? It's

2:13:35

over. Oh, so sorry. Get out

2:13:37

of here. Get out of here. See you next
