Tyranny of my thoughts. Daniel Rowan is the Program Director and founder of Best Chance in New Mexico, a program designed to help men transition into society after release from prison. We talk about his long struggle with substance abuse and how the kindness of free staff, faith and meditation helped him find a new way to live.  His first experience with law enforcement set the tone for his attitude toward police.

The mother of his children dies and he is facing 20 years in prison. Christian chaplain gives him a book on meditation. Free staff treats him with kindness and listens to him. A small county jail in NM where the COs (correctional officers) act as case workers and cook and serve the inmates 3 meals a day.  Roswell Prison therapeutic community single wide trailer porter.
