Alright look, people love Angry Adam, right? I get it.

0:02

It's fun to watch someone lose their mind at a

0:04

video game. I know. But you

0:07

know what isn't fun? Shopping for overpriced, crappy

0:09

razor blades. Harry saw everyone

0:11

getting ripped off buying shaving supplies and

0:13

said, there's gotta be a better way.

0:16

And there is! It's Harry's! And to

0:18

prove it, they're offering our listeners a

0:21

$13 trial set for just 3 bucks

0:23

at harrys.com/RTG. I'm

0:25

so stoked that they've signed on to sponsor the show,

0:28

because unlike most sponsors that send me some other product

0:30

to try out before I talk about them, I've

0:33

been a Harry's guy for years. Their blades look

0:35

and feel so much better than the junk at

0:37

the store, they last a long time, and it

0:39

doesn't matter if I'm rocking my beard, stubble, a

0:42

goatee, whatever I have going on, their blades are

0:44

sharp and tight and they can trim and shape

0:46

however I want. I even use

0:48

them to shave the weird little hairs growing on my

0:50

ears now. Their blades are made

0:52

at Harry's headquarters, which I assume is

0:54

what they've named their factory, and they're

0:56

German engineered, so of course they're good

0:58

quality. And it's not just that they're great to

1:01

use, they're great to buy, because you don't have

1:03

to go to the store and find the kid with the keys. When

1:06

did buying razor blades become as big of a pain

1:08

in the ass as buying video games? I

1:10

hate that! Excuse me, will you come open this case for me

1:12

please? And then they get mad and they roll their eyes out,

1:15

like I hate doing that. Harry's ships

1:17

blades right to your door. Tell them when

1:19

you want them, the shaving cream, the blades,

1:21

the lotions, anything you need, and they'll deliver

1:23

it as scheduled. It's cheaper, it's

1:25

easier, and it's better than the store stuff. I'm

1:28

giving Harry's a slay the spire level of

1:30

endorsement here, try them, and if you don't

1:32

like them, they'll give you your money back. And

1:34

they're comfortable offering that because they have the highest

1:36

customer satisfaction in the shaving

1:38

industry. Getting ripped off isn't funny.

1:41

Switch to Harry's. Get started with

1:43

a $13 trial set for just

1:45

$3 at harrys.com/RTG. That's

1:47

harrys.com/RTG for a $3 trial

1:50

set. What's

2:21

up everybody, welcome back to Remember the Game.

2:23

It is my retro gaming podcast where every week

2:25

a buddy of mine and I sit down and we

2:27

geek out about the games we played back in the

2:29

day. My name is Adam Blank, thank you so much

2:31

for listening to the show. And

2:34

this week it is episode 287

2:36

and it's one of our prestigious Patreon

2:38

poll winning episodes. Every month our Patreons

2:40

get to pick a game to be

2:43

chatted about here on the old chatterbox.

2:45

And Tiny Toons Adventures came out on top

2:48

of our NES poll back in January, edging

2:50

out battle toads in the final vote. So

2:52

that's what we're focusing on this week. And

2:55

before anybody asks, I know I still owe

2:57

everyone a Golden Sun review. If you don't

2:59

know that one, our December Patreon poll was

3:01

all RPGs. That's coming

3:03

in early April. After playing Lufia 2,

3:06

I wanted to cleanse my pallet before

3:08

diving into another one of those meaty

3:10

JRPGs. But it is coming, I promise.

3:12

Early April you're getting Golden Sun. But

3:15

that's them, this is now and now it's time for

3:17

Tiny Toons Adventures on the NES. I actually owned

3:19

this one growing up. That black label and then

3:21

not the black box. Not to be confused with

3:23

the old black box. NES games.

3:25

This just had maybe the most boring label ever.

3:27

It was just a solid black background with the

3:29

Tiny Toons logo with Babs and Buster breaking out

3:31

of the circle. That was, I can see it

3:33

in my head. I had that game and I

3:35

actually played the shit out of it growing up.

3:37

And I was actually a pretty big fan of

3:40

the show as well, to be honest. Plucky Duck

3:42

is the man. I was never able

3:44

to beat Tiny Toons as a kid though. It's pretty

3:46

tough. If you haven't played it, it's a

3:48

basic platformer. Babs was kidnapped by

3:50

Monty Maxx and you got a saver from his

3:52

mansion. You play as Buster and then there's six

3:55

worlds and in each world you get to pick

3:57

one fellow Tiny Toon to take with you as

3:59

a sidekick. And you can choose

4:01

from plucky duck dizzy devil or furball the cat

4:03

and each of them has their own strengths and

4:05

weaknesses Honestly a pretty it's

4:07

not Mario, but it's a pretty decent little

4:09

platformer I found it tough as shit as

4:12

a kid and just recently I beat it

4:14

for the first time on stream So it

4:16

was legit people seeing it people saw it

4:18

I did it. It's got

4:20

a pretty nasty difficult spike Difficulty

4:22

spike excuse me about halfway through around

4:24

level four spot of course for any s

4:26

games I think they made them harder on purpose Just to

4:28

try to drag the game out because you can beat this

4:31

game in an hour if it's not

4:33

for that difficulty spike plus It gives you infinite continues

4:35

which helps I was honestly pretty

4:37

stoked that this game won our patreon poll because I've

4:39

always been a fan of it and I'm excited to

4:41

Give it a little bit of love here on the

4:43

old RTG. So I'm rolling solo this week It's

4:45

just the way the calendar cookie crumbled. I couldn't

4:47

light up a guess not a big deal, but

4:49

like I said Tiny tune

4:51

adventures was a huge part of my childhood.

4:54

I will have absolutely no problem Rambling on

4:56

about this one by myself and we'll get

4:58

there in just a minute because speaking of

5:00

rambling on by myself It's of course time

5:02

for another edition. I'll remember the game infamous

5:04

intro And

5:10

if you're new to the podcast welcome aboard a consider

5:12

this your warning our intros are long But they're fun.

5:14

It's we talked video games and stuff They're good times

5:17

and they're not half as difficult as the fourth world

5:19

of fucking tiny tunes Let me promise you but if

5:21

you do want to skip it All you do is

5:23

you open up your phone and then

5:25

some people like leave me bad review I don't know

5:27

if you think my show sucks leave me a bad

5:29

review I don't give a fuck but like all you

5:31

have to do is open up the podcast and then

5:33

you just you just the little Forward curvy arrow you

5:35

just click it a few times get to vote I

5:38

go to the 30 minute mark if you want just

5:40

tiny tune talk, but I recommend let's give me a

5:44

Good time we're talking video games. Give me give it a

5:46

shot. I that would have been a better self I

5:48

didn't stumble over my words, but it shows a good time. Give

5:50

it a chance I have to do

5:52

my plugs I know that some people hate these so these if you

5:55

want to skip go ahead This is where I do my I have

5:57

to I got to keep the bills on it. Give me a minute

5:59

here We've all come merchandise you can find it

6:01

all remember the game podcast comm and shout out to

6:03

6:24

shirt. I like our merch You can find it all

6:26

remember the game podcast comm if you're interested and of

6:28

course you don't like clothes Maybe

6:30

consider patreon lots of podcasts for

6:32

littles money lots of lots for

6:34

little that that's lots for little

6:36

I like that We

6:38

have four additional podcasts We publish every week

6:40

for our patreons every Monday mark McEwen I

6:43

revisit old Simpsons on purple monkey dishwasher We

6:45

just published our 40th episode. So we're into

6:47

season three now. We're getting into the good

6:50

stuff every Tuesday It's the rambling

6:52

idiot. I talked about my comedy career

6:54

TV movie sports wrestling movies Whatever I

6:56

feel like talking about over there every

6:58

Friday its game patch Which is my

7:00

modern gaming news show we talked about

7:02

the biggest stories in modern video games

7:04

I give you some sales picks and

7:06

cetera and Thursday is the crown jewel

7:09

Expansion pass it goes live every Thursday

7:11

and it's a different gaming show each

7:13

week. There's some funny episodes There's some

7:15

serious episodes modern game reviews console at

7:17

retrospectives all kinds of stuff This past

7:19

week was actually expansion past number 200 So

7:22

I revisited my hundred favorite games of all

7:24

time list that I had initially published on

7:26

expansion past number 100 So

7:28

it's been a little over two years since I counted down

7:31

my hundred favorite games of all time So I revisited it

7:33

and I plugged in a whole bunch of the games that

7:35

I've been playing over the last couple of years Since I

7:37

did the first time I had 20 new

7:39

additions to my hundred favorite games

7:41

of all time Including three that squeaked into

7:44

my top 20 and they were both modern

7:46

and retro games and as is becoming tradition

7:48

Here is a sneak peek of last week's

7:50

episode of expansion past my hundred favorite games

7:52

of all time volume 2 And

7:58

we have a hundred of these to get through in about 50

8:00

minutes so to a minute let's get started number

8:02

100 on the revised list

8:04

of my hundred favorite games of all

8:07

time is Resident Evil 7 biohazard and

8:09

that was on my list the last

8:11

time we did it albeit lower it's

8:13

a top three Resident Evil for me

8:15

Resident Evil 4 Resident Evil 2 remake

8:17

and Resident Evil 7 I guess alright

8:20

so now I guess technically Resident Evil 7 is

8:23

followed in my fourth favorite Resident Evil because

8:25

both the original Resident Evil 4 and Resident

8:27

Evil 4 remake are in front of

8:29

it but Resident Evil 7 is fucking sick and I

8:31

think it's the scariest game in the Resident Evil series

8:33

it's such a good game if you haven't played it

8:35

you can handle a little bit of spice a

8:37

little bit of scare Resident Evil 7 is awesome Resident Evil

8:40

7 for the record with all the respect I know some

8:42

of you love the franchise I haven't played two yet I've

8:44

only played one in three but no Silent Hill got

8:47

on my list I like some Resident Evil better than then

8:50

Silent Hill so number 100 on my new

8:52

list Resident Evil 7 number

8:54

99 on my new list is

8:56

the Legend of Zelda the very

8:59

first one on the NES that's

9:02

no available in our archives and this week

9:04

it's expansion past 201 and it's the final

9:06

expansion pass of the month which means our

9:08

Patriots got to decide what we talked about

9:10

and the games you gave up on came

9:13

out on top everyone's got at least one that

9:15

game that just fuck

9:17

this it isn't for you for whatever

9:19

reason you just walked away and we're

9:21

gonna talk about it on expansion pass

9:24

tomorrow the games you gave up on

9:26

so again patreon subscriptions start at three

9:28

dollars a month you get new shows

9:53

like I'm about to to most of these people a

9:55

huge thank you to our newest Patriots record

9:59

Ralphie I like that, I

10:01

don't know if it's Ralphie or Ralphie,

10:03

because there was no H, but I

10:05

like it either way. Wreck-It Ralphie, Matlock,

10:07

Super Garbage Day, Axel Blades, Adam Blank's

10:10

hairy left nipple, it is quite hairy,

10:12

Sween Machine, Angel Mejia,

10:14

Horace Earl, and Doo-Doo.

10:17

I like Doo-Doo, that

10:19

describes this show perfectly. Thank you

10:22

all so much for the support, and welcome to Remember

10:24

the Game Industries. You can find all that

10:26

at patreon.com/rememberthegame. Don't forget, we're donating 5% of

10:28

that to the Stollery Children's Hospital

10:30

here in Edmonton as part of my 24 hour

10:32

stream every November, and we have

10:34

annual subscriptions that'll save you your 12th month fees.

10:37

And finally, if you're interested, I'm over

10:39

on the old Twitch box pretty regularly

10:41

these days, twitch.tv slash rememberthegame if you

10:43

wanna come by and say hi, all

10:46

right? That's enough blowing myself, let's blow some

10:48

of you by blowing in some cartridges. It

10:50

is our opening segment. Here on the show,

10:52

I read a few comments and questions from

10:54

our patrons, usually gaming related, but not always,

10:57

and we call this segment Blowing in the

10:59

Cartridge. He blows all right, he blows big

11:01

time. That's it, honey, get into the spirit.

11:04

Ah! Let's

11:06

blow our first blower this week is Rob

11:08

Mason, who said, hey Adam, going along

11:10

with Ocarina of Tim, are there any

11:12

other games or characters you pronounced wrong

11:15

and were shocked to find out? I

11:17

always pronounced Ryu from Street Fighter as

11:19

Rye-yoo, and not the correct Ree-yoo.

11:22

For the record, I will continue to say Rye-yoo.

11:24

Oh yeah, no, I do. The number of things

11:27

that, listen, people ask me all the

11:29

time, why do you say Ocarina of Tim? It

11:31

was because I used to say Ocarina or Ocarina,

11:33

Ocarina, I don't even know. I always got shit

11:35

for the way I said the instrument's name. No

11:37

matter what you say, someone else says you're saying

11:39

it wrong. So now it's Ocarina of Tim, so

11:41

nobody is happy. There's tons of

11:43

things. A few that stand out to

11:45

me, I always thought that Yuffie from

11:48

Final Fantasy VII, I thought it was Yuffie,

11:50

apparently it's Yuffie, but I always thought

11:52

it was Yuffie. So Yuffie, I'm

11:55

sure I say Kate Sith or whatever the fuck that

11:57

thing's name is wrong. A lot of- A

12:00

lot of old RPGs that had these big funky names

12:02

and never told you how to say them Levius

12:06

Levius in and Baha mute

12:08

apparently I'm saying both of those wrong. I fucking

12:11

say everything wrong I don't and should be told

12:13

at this point There's the occasional thing I say

12:15

wrong on purpose just to irritate people, but there's

12:17

still stuff I just say wrong because I don't

12:19

know any better so all kinds Rob I I

12:22

am NOT the brightest bulb in the

12:24

burned-out string of Christmas light bulbs Not

12:27

even close Nick GC I'm like the one

12:30

the cat chewed on and then got fried

12:32

smells like deep fried pussy cat or whatever

12:34

was he says Nick GC says

12:36

I would love to hear some insights into

12:38

the extended family reaction to leading a retro

12:40

gaming show What was the conversation like around

12:43

the family get-together dinner table my

12:45

family and I don't talk So

12:48

that's it talking Tony said no

12:51

I just hope you're like what I'm just kidding. I've been

12:53

to this before honestly I don't think my family really cares

12:55

my brother thinks it's kind of cool It comes on the

12:58

show once in a while But I

13:00

don't think my parents fully understand it like they

13:02

know I'm a comedian and I think they like

13:04

the comedian part I genuinely I don't

13:06

think anybody else in my family truly understands what

13:08

it is exactly I do I think

13:10

the consensus amongst my loved ones is that I

13:12

just sit in my office and play video games

13:15

all day What I mean like I do do

13:17

that for part of it But like

13:19

they don't understand the writing the editing the hosting

13:21

the recording they don't they don't understand any of

13:23

it I don't I don't think anyone has any

13:25

clue and I like it that way because when

13:27

nobody knows what I do for a living Nobody

13:29

asks me how work is going and that's fine because I don't want

13:31

to talk about work And it's

13:33

not because I don't love this job, but I just I

13:36

don't know I hate what people want to like I don't

13:38

want to talk it just like let's talk about

13:41

sports or so I don't know politics something not

13:43

controversial. Let's let's not talk about what Adam does

13:45

to make money. Let's not do that So

13:48

no honestly, they don't talk about it very much Talking

13:50

Tony said with tiny tunes being the episode I

13:53

figured I'd throw some love to the looney tunes

13:55

and ask you who's your favorite character from Looney

13:57

Tunes mine has to be the center man Bugs

13:59

Bunny I even got him tatted on my

14:01

arm but he's holding a joint, not a carrot,

14:03

because I make smart decisions. Ah,

14:05

Tolkien Toni has a tattoo of Bugs

14:08

Bunny holding a joint. I love

14:10

it. That's what tattoos are all about. My

14:13

favorite Looney Toon by a mile is probably Elmer

14:15

Fudd. I love me

14:17

some Elmer Fudd. Everything about him.

14:19

I don't... Everything about

14:21

that man. He can do no wrong in my

14:24

eyes. So Elmer Fudd all

14:26

day. Ah, that fucking... Ah, that

14:28

beautiful man. I

14:30

wish I could do his voice. I can't do his voice. And I

14:32

wish I could. Because I... I

14:34

love... I love Elmer Fudd. Ah,

14:37

Adam's Lazy Fry said,

14:39

Adam, I'm sure you've answered this before but

14:41

I haven't heard. Who is your wrestling Mount

14:43

Rushmore? I'm going with Austin Undertaker, Sting, and

14:45

Cena. These four in my opinion have transcended

14:47

the genre. Love the podcast and thanks for

14:49

all the hours of entertainment. This is tough

14:51

because when I'm picking my Mount Rushmore of

14:53

pro wrestling, I am not picking my four

14:56

favorite wrestlers. I'm picking the four that I

14:58

think have been most important. And

15:00

if that's the case, as much as I fucking... I

15:02

hate the man with every fiber of my being. Hulk

15:05

Hogan is on there. Stone Cold is on

15:07

there. I'm gonna put The Rock on there. And

15:10

then it always leaves that fourth one. It's

15:12

like Ric Flair, John Cena, The Undertaker, Sting.

15:20

I... like I hear an argument for Cena because he really

15:22

is the closest thing we've had to a modern day

15:24

one. I think

15:27

I gotta go Flair. That's just

15:29

because I'm old. If I wasn't as old as I am, I

15:31

would go Cena. But because I am old, I'll go Flair. So

15:33

I'm going Hogan, Flair, Austin, and Rock. Is

15:36

my... my... my Mount Rushmore.

15:38

God, I hate Hulk Hogan. Old

15:40

Man Gamer said, Because

16:00

you sucking Game Pass's dick all the time is the

16:02

reason I got an Xbox. Buddy, we were talking about

16:04

this on stream one day, if I could get a

16:06

kickback for all the games and shit I've sold over

16:09

the Slay the- I would own like 5% of

16:12

Slay the Spire. And yeah, I've probably sold

16:14

a few Xboxes over the years as

16:16

well. Um, no, honestly dude, just

16:18

play the- play the- the- the remaster, whatever it

16:20

is. There's no- there's not much differences, it's just-

16:22

it's just a better version of the same game.

16:25

So, I hope you enjoy them, I personally like the

16:27

Gears games better than Halo. Uh, maybe

16:29

that's a hot take, I do- they're both great, but I like Gears

16:31

better. And uh, yeah, you're good. Just-

16:33

just jump into like the most modern version of it.

16:35

And just enjoy it, you're gonna- you're gonna have a

16:38

good time. Gears- oh, Gears is- Gears 4 is a

16:40

little weak, but other than that I like Gears, they're

16:42

good games. Uh, Donkey

16:44

Shlong Bunghole Beat. Classy.

16:47

Says, uh, since starting Remember the Game

16:49

Incorporated Industries, but whatever. Uh, do

16:52

you feel that your gaming skills have improved? Are there

16:54

any games that you've beaten that you don't think you

16:56

would've been able to handle before your podcast practice? I

16:59

wouldn't say that my gaming has improved because

17:01

I play so many games now. If anything,

17:03

I'm probab- I've never been a great gamer.

17:05

I- I'll never- like, Tetris I can hold

17:08

my own, Mario Kart I'm okay at, but platformers

17:10

I'm good. There's very few games that you'll find

17:12

me sitting here and say I'm good at. Um,

17:14

I would say I've gotten worse. Because

17:17

now it's like as soon as I'm done a game and

17:19

I can record an episode about it, it's on to the

17:21

next game. So I'm not even getting my reps in as

17:23

much, but I will say that like, yeah, there's a few

17:25

games like, um, TMNT on

17:27

the NES, Maximum Carnage, Spider-Man, I- I've

17:30

beaten those games. Uh,

17:32

I just beat Lost Levels. And those are

17:34

games that I probably wouldn't have the patience to beat otherwise.

17:36

So, I don't know if it's so much that I'm getting

17:38

better, as it is just I have more time to play

17:40

games now, and I'm on stre- when you're on stream, you

17:42

don't want to rage quit on stream. So I stick with

17:45

it, so people, you know, I- I look good. But, uh,

17:47

no, I've probably gotten worse. And it's gonna

17:49

continue. I suck. And

17:51

so my Let's Play series, youtube.com/rememberthegame, it's

17:53

not Adam is good at video games,

17:55

it's Adam sucks. At

17:57

video games. Uh, Super Jess! Said.

18:00

A blank as a fellow Super Mario World obsess

18:02

or what is your favorite area to place? The

18:04

force of illusion might hit the hardest this thousand

18:06

for me, but there's something about that Valley of

18:09

Bows or Theme that fucking pumps you up the

18:11

first time you enter. curious to hear yours tears.

18:14

Mine is the value Belzer honestly.

18:16

The. Force of Illusion is my least

18:19

favorite because I always that install road

18:21

because I always forget. About

18:23

me to fuck up with Hundred Percent Runner Ninety

18:25

Six Months. Those are the places where I always

18:27

miss something and can't remember what I miss. So.

18:30

I would say Valley About is my favorite.

18:32

Plus I love that like the glowing sign

18:35

of the back door and everything I was

18:37

castle and the either The Force of Illusion

18:39

or The Vanilla Job or my least favorite.

18:41

Areas in that game. And

18:44

finally. Before. We move on. It's

18:46

letter time. It's loaded times. Fill up

18:48

my mouth with parts said hello my

18:50

good Sir Adams. What is your opinion on? The

18:52

current storage capacity apostles With Appears Five only

18:54

having like one terabyte, I was constantly moving

18:56

title soon, external drive where the Ps Five

18:59

couldn't be place finally broke down and I

19:01

saved up. or and as as the upgrade

19:03

a crease my Ps five dollars from one

19:05

terabyte. The five terabyte also was really nervous

19:07

about installing the you Did It as he

19:09

took me longer to figure out how to

19:11

get the cover off that A did you

19:13

install it Plus I have all the space

19:15

I need for those hundred gigabyte Call of

19:17

Duty titles now. Are you know

19:19

what? This has been a big talking

19:21

point with this generation, particularly I think

19:23

with X box and game past. Ah,

19:26

As. I. Will say

19:28

that like. Personally,

19:30

I haven't I haven't had a lot of problems, but

19:32

I don't play it out of game. With I play,

19:34

I mean I played on a game when I play like

19:37

four or five at a time. So. It's not

19:39

really up and and I have all three of my

19:41

i might be a spy my X box am i

19:43

switch all law hard wired in so like if I

19:45

to it'll say I got deleted the last of us

19:47

part you have my p s five and that I

19:49

wanted to read downloaded when the new version came up

19:51

with a blade again. And Us

19:53

is a big game and it only took me like

19:56

your to me like five minutes to download them widens

19:58

with us. I've never really found it to be. The

20:00

problem to have three download my games because it

20:02

doesn't take very long. So I've never had an

20:04

issue with the capacity either because I just delete

20:06

stuff and. Read. Download the for five games

20:08

at a time that I am playing a will see

20:10

the series s has given me a little bit of

20:12

a headache because I'm if I'm not mistaken that was

20:14

only have five hundred gigabytes. I want to go down

20:16

there the living room and by the time I put

20:19

like golf and Mlb the show on their I could

20:21

basically get like one or two games and I'm than

20:23

a pretty well build up so that one is part

20:25

of me around a little bit but I've been okay

20:27

with the one terabyte now if I was like if

20:29

I wasn't doing what I do for a living and

20:31

I was play am I Call of Duty and Madison

20:33

and you know for five bigger games that I was

20:35

constantly switching in and out. Then yeah

20:38

that I could see becoming a little bit of

20:40

an issue. I do like that they've made it

20:42

somewhat easy to upgrade the storage space. I was

20:44

x boxes of the by the stupid card but

20:46

whatever, I don't have the can do other that

20:48

oh there's other ways expand a series x. Other

20:51

than that, The

20:53

card they invented by don't care because I

20:55

don't I might look at expand my any

20:57

with other I do they disappear Problem moving

20:59

forward and I news is going to be

21:01

a slippery slope. Proconsul manufacturers because they. Clearly.

21:04

Whether anyone wants the degree of we are not

21:06

like we've had this discussion a billion times. Games

21:08

are going the way of digital. You know the

21:11

like. It is why you puzzle games. I get

21:13

it. no problem. games are going the way of

21:15

digital. That is just it's a fact that just

21:17

happens. as games go digital. people need more space

21:19

on a causal and then you add in the

21:21

games keep getting bigger and I'm sure it's not

21:23

safe to say about appears Fiber at X box

21:25

series x with to terabyte a storage on it.

21:28

But I feel like it's inevitable they're going to

21:30

have to go that way. See what games are

21:32

taken up? A hundred hundred fifty gigs. Of space

21:34

on your causal. how many can you fit on

21:36

there? So if you want us to go digital

21:38

you got especially with be as pleasant game as

21:40

the services were. Of download games. which

21:43

again set up history i like streaming my game

21:45

though too but if i gotta be downloading ali

21:47

g visually got to give him more space so

21:49

i have not had an issue with it but

21:51

i do the is going to be a concern

21:53

i think this is the last generation where they'll

21:55

be able to get away without having a pot

21:57

of storage like i think whatever the p a

21:59

six and the Xbox bone

22:01

or whatever the fuck they call their next system

22:03

is whenever those come out they're

22:07

gonna have to I think 2 terabytes is gonna be the

22:09

minimum and I think people will be looking for more than

22:11

that I think that's gonna be tricky so but

22:13

as an all digital gamer or mostly digital gamer it hasn't

22:15

been a huge deal for me that's

22:18

just me, anyway alright, thank you everybody that

22:20

wrote in as always we'll answer a few

22:22

more of those questions on the Rambling Idiot

22:24

next week in our left blower segment but

22:26

that's for then, this is for now let's switch things up and

22:28

get to our smash hit segment, the official game

22:31

show of Remember the Game Industries, it is

22:33

Play One, Remake One and Roll Squad got

22:41

a huge thank you to Classic Concentration from the

22:43

NES for unknowingly providing us with the theme easy

22:46

for the show the rules are simple, every week

22:48

I give our Patreons three retro video games they

22:50

can play one as it was released, Remake One

22:52

is a modern game and the third is a

22:54

race from time forever and as always there are

22:56

no wrong answers but there is a right one

22:58

and we'll get to that in just a minute

23:00

this week we're talking Tiny Toons so I figured

23:02

why not go all the way? three more Tiny

23:04

Toons games, we've got Babs Big Break for the

23:07

Game Boy Buster Busts Loose for the SNES and

23:09

Hidden Treasure which for some odd reason does not

23:11

do the Automatopoeia B thing it's Automatopoeia

23:13

the one where you keep saying the

23:15

same letters, I think it is, anyway Hidden

23:17

Treasure seems like an odd name but Hidden Treasure for

23:19

the Sega Genesis not as close,

23:22

not anywhere close as the title

23:24

vote as last week was last week we had a three

23:26

week tie, three way tie which was sick this week 38%

23:29

of you said Play Buster Busts Loose, Remake

23:31

Hidden Treasure and Erase Babs Big Break let's

23:33

see what a few of you had to

23:35

say here then I'll tell you what the

23:37

right answer was Fire M Bomb said the

23:39

football level of Buster Busts Loose was always

23:41

fire and the replay value is so baked

23:43

in so I'll play that, I'll remake or

23:45

I'll erase Hidden Treasure because I'm sure I'm

23:47

not the only person that didn't know it

23:49

even existed so we'll be missed and then

23:51

I'll remake Babs Big Break if there's one

23:53

thing gaming needs it is more female leads

23:55

that drop anvils on people I

23:58

can get on board with all that I'd be I'd be totally down with

24:01

a game that stars Babs. I like Babs. I'm down

24:03

with that. Speaking of Babs, Babs the Babs said alright

24:05

didn't play any of these but I haven't voted in

24:07

a long time and I want to participate. Play

24:09

bus loose because the art box looks not the box

24:12

the art box. I That

24:14

threw me off the box art looks nice Remake

24:16

Babs big break because Babs is my name

24:18

so this game shall be given all the love

24:20

with top graphics soundtrack gameplay and then erase

24:22

hidden treasure because Sega Genesis is the Enemy

24:25

and it shall be extinguished ha ha

24:27

ha that I think you smelled

24:29

enemy odd And I'm assuming there's a reason that's going over my

24:31

head Oh and the name

24:34

suggests the childish boring game where you just

24:36

wander around looking for stupid chests Kind

24:38

of does doesn't it? I don't want to walk around looking

24:41

very kind of does I'm I'm not erasing hidden treasure, but

24:43

I can get on board at that lodge Mandak

24:45

said one of those weird games. I actually played

24:47

as a kid. I'll play Babs big break It

24:49

was an actual blast and I played it recently

24:51

on my old game boy I'll remake hidden treasure

24:53

because it's a Konami game and why the hell

24:56

not and then I'll erase Buster bus loose Because

24:59

one simply has to go I think these are all

25:01

Konami games for the record But I'm

25:03

sure that's gonna ruffle some feathers a racing Buster

25:05

bus loose I love it and maverick said play

25:07

Buster bus loose cuz I think this game looks

25:09

fantastic And it's 16-bit glory and

25:11

the football level is next best thing since Tecmo

25:13

Super Bowl and I want to beat it since

25:15

I never Did I'm gonna remake Babs big break as

25:17

I think she could use a title of her own

25:20

as could plucky and all the other Great characters of

25:22

this franchise and with the remake anything is possible and

25:24

that leaves hidden treasure to be erased from all eternity

25:26

I never played it, but I think with the other

25:28

two I would get enough tiny tunes tickle for the

25:30

pickle I like that. I'm

25:32

actually going to runner up. I gotta say

25:34

hidden treasure. Well, I've never played it deserves more

25:36

respect I'm going with the runner-up this week 20%

25:39

of you voted the way I did as did G

25:41

G Zill any

25:43

um, seven nine two G Zill any

25:45

um seven nine two This is a

25:47

tricky one But hidden treasure is the only one

25:49

I played religiously as a kid. So it's my

25:51

favorite I'll play it as it is but damn

25:53

those hell cave levels I will remake Buster bus

25:55

loose considering his Super Nintendo and I assume it's

25:57

already a great game and I'll erase Babs big

25:59

break I haven't played that one. I'll

26:01

have to erase it nothing personal bad same

26:03

order completely different reasoning I'm gonna play hidden treasure

26:06

on the Sega Genesis because I haven't and I've

26:08

grown quite fond of the Sega Genesis in my

26:10

older Years and I want to see what the

26:12

Genesis can do with tiny toons. So I'm playing

26:14

hidden treasure. I gotta play this game I'm gonna

26:17

remake Buster bus loose on the Super Nintendo because

26:19

I have played it a little bit. Everyone loves this

26:21

game I like it I'm down But I'd love to

26:23

see if they could just make like this seems to

26:25

be the best tiny tunes game And so

26:27

that's the one I want to see if they could make look like

26:29

the actual show in a modern remake on

26:31

the hard drive Like imagine playing when it looks just like

26:33

it That'd be fucking sick and then I'm erasing Bab's big

26:36

break on the game boy with all the respect I don't

26:38

want to race any of them. I like

26:40

Bab's I like the game boy But if I have

26:42

to choose between a game boy game a Super Nintendo

26:44

game and a Genesis game The game boy game is

26:46

probably the one getting the boot unless it's Link's Awakening

26:48

or Pokemon Maybe Tetris.

26:51

Yeah, maybe Texas shout out

26:53

something gets that reference. So that's the right order

26:55

Thank you. Everybody that wrote in and played along

26:57

as always now listen Normally,

26:59

I tell you what I've been playing then we get

27:01

a sponsor in here and then we get to your

27:03

comments on tiny Tunes adventures, but I'm just gonna be

27:06

honest with everybody I fucked up this week and

27:08

while I was working on my notes, I accidentally delete it

27:11

Your comments on tiny tune adventures. I wish

27:13

patreon made it as easy to Post

27:16

stuff as it does the delete stuff because I

27:18

can delete shit like but it's

27:20

trying to get posts up there That's so fucking hard.

27:22

So I sincerely apologize especially in a week where I'm

27:25

rolling solo I really wanted to read some listener comments

27:27

and I don't have any I fucked up. I'm sorry

27:29

I assume all the comments were like this game is

27:31

good It's kind of hard and plucky is the best

27:33

tiny tune in which case those are all accurate. So

27:35

here's what's gonna happen We're gonna pause for a sponsor

27:38

now Then I'm gonna tell you what I've been playing

27:40

and then we'll get into tiny toons. All right, I

27:42

fucked up. I'm sorry Here's your sponsor. We'll be right

27:44

back This

27:47

show is sponsored by better help as

27:50

we get older we get more selective with

27:52

our relationships It's a quality over quantity thing

27:55

Or is it quantity over quality? No

27:57

quality quality means it's better quantity means

27:59

it's Quality over quantity, yes. And

28:02

I don't know about any of you, but

28:04

my circle of friends has shrunk exponentially as

28:06

I've gotten older. And the friends that have

28:08

stayed in that circle are some of my

28:10

most important relationships these days. You should take

28:13

a quality over quantity approach with your relationships

28:15

and put the work into the ones that

28:17

really matter. Because whether we like it or

28:19

not, relationships take work. And therapy can be

28:21

a phenomenal way to help lighten that load.

28:23

Whether it's working on relationships with your friends,

28:26

your family, your coworkers, whoever you want. I

28:28

think some people hear therapy and they think

28:30

it's just for those of us that have

28:32

really been through the ringer and experienced some

28:35

crazy stuff. And that's just not the case.

28:37

The gym isn't just for bodybuilders. And therapy

28:41

it can help anyone get more out of

29:12

game. Okay,

29:16

what have I been playing over the last week? Tiny

29:18

Toon Adventures on the NES. I couldn't believe I

29:21

beat it. And like I was just streaming it thinking I wouldn't beat

29:23

it. I'd get stuck in world four like I always do. And I

29:25

got past world four and then beat it 20

29:27

minutes later, it was fucking wild. It was nice, I

29:29

don't know if any of you ever experienced that.

29:31

If you haven't, I hope everybody experiences that at least once.

29:33

You go back to a game that owned your soul as

29:35

a kid and you're just able to beat it. And I

29:38

beat it in like two sessions and I couldn't believe it.

29:40

I was like, fuck man, maybe I am getting better at

29:42

video games, who knows? But I

29:44

felt really fucking good. So I've been playing Tiny

29:46

Toons. I've also been playing Mario vs. Donkey Kong

29:48

on the Switch. I know this is a remake

29:51

of the Game Boy Advance game. I don't know

29:53

if it's Game Boy Advance or Game Boy Color. I'd never

29:55

played the original. I'm playing this one now.

29:57

Very charming, cute little game. The

29:59

first. The World's Ramos. By

30:02

frustratingly. Easy. but now it's as though

30:04

it expecting you to get our but it is

30:06

given me just a little bit. Of

30:08

stop and think now so I'm hoping that

30:10

trend continues sorts of and I'll do a

30:12

full review on expansion pass. You're probably next

30:14

week but I have a barber's Donkey Kong

30:16

has been a good time. It's the I

30:19

still play Assad upon Twenty Seventy Seven, still

30:21

plugging away that would arrive times and then

30:23

dude I started playing this game. Ballot row.

30:25

I. Think of open saying that rice and if you've

30:27

not played it or seen it is kind of blowing

30:29

up on steam and stuff right now. Played ah my

30:32

Steam Dick X or oh Celia Polygamous which was good

30:34

to get them as the deck while playing a mess

30:36

with Isis. It's is this as a poker. Rogue.

30:38

Like is a card game. When.

30:40

You get don't give a deck of fifty two

30:42

playing cards and then basically you have to fight

30:44

all these like battles, rid of your calls on

30:46

these bosses were you have like you are. You

30:49

get to play for five poker hands as you

30:51

have to earn enough tips. The to beat the

30:53

score that they're telling the yeah heard at least

30:55

three hundred ships to be the first you fight

30:57

a small Blythe, the fight a big blinds that

30:59

you fight like a boss that you go onto

31:01

the next level at every time. Every when you

31:03

place the score you dig the tires. Totally three

31:05

hundred four, fifty six hundred. I. think I live

31:07

by so far was added put up like thirty thousand

31:09

or something as they have a deck of fifty two

31:12

cards and you draw. The at a card hand or

31:14

whatever. It is as a you have to play

31:16

a poker hand up the five cards like his

31:18

own pair to pair three have applied to straight

31:20

flush a full house for the kind Streep was

31:22

yet the player hand and then it adds up

31:24

the you can do you what you earn points

31:26

based on the cards you place but also why

31:28

you play the game. You can collect jokers that

31:31

adds like random things like they may multiplayer score

31:33

by ten points every time they may say hey

31:35

have you play three cards or less will multiply

31:37

or score by eight every time you play them

31:39

or something and you can also pick up buffers

31:41

to increase the power of each the individual handling

31:43

a fluster straighter. To bear any good. Also pick

31:46

up. The power select obscene certain cards

31:48

see my be able to add like you

31:50

may be build a bigger of for. That

31:52

were Four points. Worth Ten points. And.

31:54

Added to it as. a multiplier of times due

31:57

to add your scores it's a tricky thing to

31:59

explain of i grew up I'll probably do a

32:01

review of it eventually, but look it up. If

32:03

you like poker and you like roguelikes, look up

32:05

Balletro. B-A-L-A-T-R-O. It's only like 20 bucks,

32:07

it's on everything. I'm really enjoying it, it's a really

32:10

cool, I'm not quite ready to put in Slay the

32:12

Spire, the Slay the

32:14

Spire camp, but I'm really, really enjoying it,

32:16

Balletro. So I've been playing quite a bit of that. That

32:19

is it. Now normally, here's where I read your

32:21

comments. I fucked up, deleted your comments. I'm so

32:23

sorry. You can unsubscribe and yell at me if

32:25

you want to. Please don't do that. I'm very

32:27

sorry, I fucked up. We'll try it again next

32:29

week. Maybe I just like to hear

32:31

the sound of my own voice, because I'm about to talk

32:33

about TinyTunes all by myself. I am going to cue up

32:35

some music. And

32:39

when I get sick of listening to it,

32:41

it's time to talk TinyTune Adventures, which originally

32:43

released in North America on the NES back

32:45

in December of 1991. Enjoy

32:48

the podcast everybody. Sorry again about the comments,

32:50

let's. All

33:15

right, so I should just warn you all right now.

33:17

It's not often that I do an episode of this

33:19

show by myself, but when I do, it has a

33:21

tendency to be way more all over the map than

33:23

a normal episode. It's me doing this by myself, it's

33:25

a lot like a town with money. No

33:28

one knows how they got it, danged if they know how to use

33:30

it. In my

33:32

head that made sense. That was when they get that

33:34

reference. Guy, I love The Simpsons. Anyways, we'll see how

33:36

this goes. I'm by myself this week, I'm fine with

33:38

it. Like I said, I grew up playing

33:40

TinyTunes Adventures on the NES, I had this

33:42

game, and I loved this, I fucking

33:44

loved this game as a kid. Because I loved this

33:47

show. I used to watch this show pretty religiously when

33:49

I was just a wee little Adam. I was

33:51

always Team Plucky. I will never move

33:53

off that. I think Plucky is the best character on TinyTunes.

33:56

Eat me, I don't care. And he's in

33:58

this game, which makes it awesome. in

34:00

the intro if you've never played it tiny

34:02

to adventures was a classic was a platformer

34:04

on the NES and this was from an

34:06

era where it seemed like

34:08

every licensed show every movie everything like

34:11

licensed games or a dime a dozen

34:14

and let's be honest any of you that grew up

34:16

in the NES era like me you probably rented some

34:18

of them because you saw your favorite movie or TV

34:20

show or whatever the fuck on the box and then

34:22

you brought it home and then you were like this

34:24

really isn't very good there was a lot of those

34:27

Ghostbusters it's still to this day burns

34:29

my ass that Ghostbusters on the NES is

34:31

as bad as it is because it just

34:33

shouldn't be hard to make a good Ghostbusters

34:36

game and quite frankly Ghostbusters 2 is

34:38

even worse which makes sense because the

34:40

movie's not as good as the first one I digress we

34:43

probably all played some of those bad licensed

34:45

games over the years I was just thinking

34:47

about this before I started recording what

34:50

is the best license

34:53

like fuck what is the best

34:55

license game on the NES and I I

35:00

know some people will argue like buck I've never

35:02

played buck yo hair oh hair I hear it's

35:04

very good DuckTales is up there Chip and Dale

35:06

is pretty good if I had to

35:08

say I would either go with I

35:11

would hear an argument for any of the Ninja Turtles trilogy

35:13

but I know almost still most people would argue Turtles 2

35:15

and Turtles 3 and I still think Batman

35:18

the video game on the NES is very good is

35:20

Tiny Toon Adventures as good as those no

35:23

is it Tiny Toon or Tiny Toon I think

35:27

it's Tiny Toon Adventures because why would you

35:30

pluralize it twice I got to look this up now

35:32

tiny yeah tiny toon adventures that makes that's

35:34

what I thought okay anyway I

35:37

don't think tiny toon adventures is as good as

35:39

some of those games but it's like the next

35:41

year it's very very decent like we

35:43

got this game for Christmas because I loved the

35:45

show and it was one of those times or

35:47

it was like oh man this this doesn't suck

35:49

like Ghostbusters burn me burn me deep

35:51

as a child and this one didn't this is a

35:53

solid little platformer I've you've never played it like I

35:56

mentioned in the intro you play as Buster and then

35:58

you get to team up with plucky duck Dizzy

36:00

Devil and Furball, the blue cat,

36:03

and basically you have to rescue Babs from

36:05

Monty Maxx. I don't know what Monty Maxx's

36:08

backstory is. In

36:10

this college or academy or whatever

36:12

the fuck it is. Like

36:15

Looney Tunes, Tiny Toons are all a little

36:17

looney in this cartoon or invading your TV or whatever. I

36:19

don't remember. Acme Acres,

36:21

that's what it is. I don't know why

36:25

he's there. And I'm sure, don't bother writing it.

36:27

People write in and they're like, yeah well if

36:29

you read the fan fiction novel published by Stephen

36:31

King in 2001 you would know

36:33

that Monty Maxx actually owed to the college and

36:35

he would, you know, anyway he's like the rich

36:37

jerk kid that lives there. Kind of

36:39

looks like a mix between Hey Arnold and Nelson Muntz

36:42

and he has kidnapped or

36:44

bunny napped Babs and it's up

36:47

to Buster and his friends to rescue him. And so it's

36:49

a pretty basic platformer. You go through six worlds. Most

36:51

of the worlds have three stages until for some reason

36:54

you get to the last two. Which I'll go through

36:56

each of them because I've now I've beaten this game.

36:58

I can hold that over my head. I'll go through

37:00

each of the levels individually and let you know what

37:02

they are. But basically you go through six worlds, you

37:04

control Buster and then you get to pick one of

37:06

the three friends to take into each

37:08

world with you. It had the beginning of each world,

37:12

Shirley. Was that her name? Shirley.

37:15

She was like the female plucky. She was the

37:17

duck, the fortune teller. She pops

37:19

up and she says make

37:22

sure you pick one of your friends to

37:24

take with you on this on this, you

37:26

know, this adventure to this world. And what

37:28

I think my favorite thing about the game

37:30

is that each of the four characters, Buster

37:32

plucky, dizzy and furball have strengths and weaknesses.

37:34

And they're quite apparent when you start playing

37:36

it pretty quickly. You notice. So let's just

37:38

start off with that Buster. You always have

37:40

to play just like Mario and the main

37:42

characters and Final Fantasies and stuff. I hate

37:44

when you can't swap out the main character

37:46

because if I could choose I would roll

37:48

with plucky and furball, but it is what

37:50

it is. You have to play as Buster. So

37:52

Buster is the main guy and you always get

37:54

you always have him in your duo and he's

37:56

the fastest character of the bunch and easily the

37:58

highest jumper, which makes sense. He's a rabbit that

38:01

kind of checks out. I do this guy jumps

38:03

like it I don't want to

38:05

say it totally takes inspiration from Mario 3

38:07

because I remember his help before after Mario

38:09

3 But it definitely has some Mario 3 in

38:11

it like when you land on an enemy you Soar

38:14

and Buster like Buster can clear

38:16

the fucking screen Sore up

38:18

in the air the dude practically flies when he

38:20

bounces off enemies and he can move when you

38:22

get running with them the game Actually runs really

38:24

well to look at into that, but the game

38:26

actually flies when you're running around so Buster That's

38:28

basically all he does he's the fastest one he

38:30

can jump high and you always have to control

38:33

him Really the secret sauce is choosing between plucky

38:35

dizzy and furball and there are some levels I

38:37

think it's level two three and four where Shirley

38:39

will recommend hey for world to take plucky for

38:41

world three take dizzy for world Four take furball

38:43

for world one five and six. It's up to

38:45

you. You pick I mean it's up to you

38:47

anyways pick whoever you want, but there's a

38:49

reason that they recommend you take who you want to

38:52

take so Plucky his

38:54

abilities are that he can kind of do the float

38:56

like Mario could do with a leaf not when he's

38:58

flying But when he's just kind of coming down you

39:00

can tap the button and he looks he's got this

39:02

awesome Look on his face And he flaps his wings

39:05

and he can't fly but he can kind of float

39:07

himself back down to the ground So that's really handy

39:09

when you're above water and then when you're in water

39:12

Buster dizzy and furball control like any other

39:14

platformer where you tap a and you kind

39:16

of it's like the flappy bird mechanics So

39:18

you're trying to swim whereas plucky controls like Mario

39:21

with a frog suit and you can just use

39:23

the d-pad Just theorem around which

39:25

is a huge fucking advantage so for me by

39:27

far plucky and not only is the best character

39:29

in tinytoons He's the best character in this game,

39:31

and I wonder if the reason he's my favorite

39:33

tiny toon is Because he's the most

39:35

OP character in the tiny toon game that I

39:37

played the most but he's that's what he does

39:39

I'm a big fan of plucky dizzy is my

39:41

least favorite to play as which is too bad

39:43

because he's he's a good-looking What

39:45

is he a Tasmanian dizzy like like what

39:48

animal is he like what is because he's like

39:50

the little pink Tasmanian devil But

39:52

like is that the name of the what

39:54

they are? Dizzy

39:57

is a young purple male Tasmanian devil

40:00

Oh, okay. Yeah, alright. I- I know

40:03

I'm gonna look like an idiot now, but

40:05

like, is the Tasmanian Devil a real animal?

40:08

Tasmanian Devil.

40:14

I know, some of you are probably laughing- Holy

40:16

Jesus, what the fuck is that thing? They

40:18

are a real thing, but they don't look anything

40:20

like- like Digi Devil does. They look like

40:23

rats. Actually, it's kinda cute. Look

40:26

at that guy. Wow. Tasmanian Devil. I'll be

40:28

damned. Alright, anyway, so Digi is another one

40:30

of the characters that you can pick, and

40:32

he's like the tank. When you run with

40:34

him, he doesn't really run at all. His

40:36

jump isn't anything to write home about, but

40:38

his special power- I'm- I'm seeing that

40:40

a lot lately, you write home about- but anyway,

40:42

his special power is he's the only one of

40:44

the four that can actually like attack outside of

40:46

jumping on enemies. He can go into like the

40:49

tornado, you know, the Tasmanian Devil spin, and

40:51

just take out any enemy he touches while he's

40:54

spinning. But the problem is that his spin only

40:56

lasts for about three or four seconds, and then

40:58

there's like a power meter at the bottom of

41:00

the screen, and when it runs to zero, you

41:02

can't use this spin again until the power meter

41:04

fills back up. And it fills up way slower

41:07

than it depletes when you're using this spin. But

41:09

you can use it to take out pretty well

41:11

any enemy outside of bosses, of course. Maybe

41:14

you- I've never actually tried it. It'd be funny if it worked on bosses, and

41:16

I didn't know that, but I don't think it does. And

41:19

you can actually take out some bricks too, and like create

41:21

some shortcuts and stuff. So is it cool-

41:23

I think he's actually the coolest looking sprite

41:25

of the four. He's much bigger than the rest, and

41:27

he's got his tongue hanging out of his face, and

41:29

he's got his little propeller beanie hat, and- I mean, I'm

41:32

pro team dizzy, but he's kind of useless in this game.

41:34

Outside of World 3, where they tell him to tell

41:36

you to use him, he's kind of useless. And

41:38

then Furball the cat, his special

41:40

power is that he can climb walls, but he

41:42

can't like stick to them like Spider-Man while you're

41:45

jumping. You can climb walls, but then as soon

41:47

as you stop jumping, if you just hold against

41:49

the wall, he slowly slides back down it. And

41:52

that comes in really handy in some of the

41:54

later levels. So if I was ranking the characters

41:56

in this game, that's the worst. It would go

41:58

plucky, bugs, Furball, dizzy. I

42:00

love you, but you're you're fucking useless So that's

42:02

basically what each character does and then so each

42:04

world Like world one world two world

42:06

three and world four you play three stages And you

42:09

have to pick a sidekick to take into the world

42:11

to go through all three stages with you can't switch

42:13

midstage You have to take them in with you throughout

42:15

the level or that world the three stages And then

42:17

when you beat the stages it goes back to the

42:20

overworld map and Buster hops To

42:22

the next world and then you get to pick a new sidekick

42:24

to take in to tackle three more stages And if you want

42:26

to swap your partner Then there's like balloons

42:29

floating throughout the game and which are basically like

42:31

your item boxes and some of them have hearts

42:33

in them Which give you a second

42:35

hit which I'll explain more to second and some

42:37

of them contain It's just like a red bouncing

42:40

ball with a star on it And if you

42:42

touch that ball Then you instantly swap it to

42:44

your teammate and then you can't swap back Until

42:46

you find another one of those balls and it

42:49

can be a little bit frustrating for example in

42:51

world two there's a level that's 100% swimming

42:54

and which is why Shirley recommends you take

42:56

plucky and You can

42:58

there is one of those swapping balls in

43:00

this world And if you accidentally touch it

43:02

then even though you brought plucky to Trump

43:04

Navit to help navigate the water Now you're stuck

43:06

as Buster and you have to swim through the water like a like

43:08

a I don't know how well bunnies swim

43:11

But I assume based on this game not very well

43:13

So that's how you swap your

43:15

teammates and that's really all there is to the

43:17

picking of the characters and the teammates and then

43:19

some Other characters make appearances like I said Shirley

43:21

shows up between levels to recommend

43:23

who you should take as a sidekick once

43:26

per world you can find a door just a

43:29

random door and if you find one go

43:31

in it and throughout the game you

43:33

pick up carrots similar to coins and Hampton

43:35

the the pig is waiting on the other side

43:38

of the door and he'll give you an extra

43:40

life for every 30 carrots That

43:42

you pick up during the world. So he's obviously worth fighting

43:44

because that's where you cash your carrots in I

43:47

don't know the name of that bird I don't even

43:49

know what the bird says but one of the coolest

43:51

cameos in the game is there's that like I Don't

43:53

even like I think it's like a buzzard I don't know but

43:56

it's got like the bull cut the purple hair and

43:58

I don't know if it says nope nope or dope

44:00

dope but every time you beat a level it plays

44:02

that like the and now our song

44:06

is done but and then he goes dope dope

44:08

and then you go to the next level it's

44:10

a nice nice little cameo I'm a fan of

44:12

that dude what was the

44:14

fuck was the name I never

44:17

got it to show up and all the times I was

44:19

replaying it over the last couple weeks get ready for this

44:21

episode but there's like a Darth Vader clone that's like a

44:23

duck and I don't really remember him

44:25

from the show but he just shows up

44:28

I think you have to have a certain number of carrots when

44:30

you beat a level he'll just show up and if you can

44:32

fight him and beat him then you get

44:34

a bunch of extra lives he never showed up once

44:36

while I was replaying this game and then Elmyra

44:38

the little girl from tiny toons that loves the

44:40

animals and wants to hug them and squeeze them

44:42

and I think that's what her whole her whole

44:44

stick was she's a midway boss in each of

44:47

the first four worlds so when you beat stage

44:49

one you just go from beginning to end you

44:51

get through the door you beat the level the

44:53

second level once you beat it then you get

44:55

to the exit door and then you have to

44:57

go through this little mini game with Elmyra where

44:59

she's basically just blindly running left and right sliding

45:01

all over the place and once in a while

45:03

she hits a wall or something she'll stop running

45:06

and just look at the camera for a minute and

45:08

hearts will come up and she's just kind of hugging herself because

45:10

she wants to catch the animal and squeeze her and you basically

45:12

squeeze them and you basically just have to avoid

45:15

Elmyra for about 15 seconds

45:18

or so until an exit door appears and then get

45:20

to the exit before she catches you and she never

45:22

caught me once in all the time I was replaying

45:24

this she's really not very difficult to dodge but I

45:26

do like that they threw that in there is just

45:28

like it's just a little bit of a mix-up I'm

45:30

a fade I like that a lot and

45:32

then in the third world the third level in each world

45:35

you beat the level and then you have to do

45:37

a boss fight and I admittedly have not watched tiny

45:40

toons since probably about 92 93 so it's

45:44

been fuck me I'm old it's been

45:46

like I can't it's been 30

45:48

years since I've watched tiny toons so I

45:50

don't remember the names of any of the

45:52

characters but like the first boss is this

45:54

like evil scientist on a skateboard that throws

45:56

anvils at you the second boss

45:58

is a pirate that jumps up and down

46:00

and then whenever you land- you all you have to do is

46:02

jump on their head three times and when you

46:05

jump on his head he takes off for a

46:07

minute and barrels come rolling at you the third

46:09

boss is like a werewolf thing underground and he's

46:11

the coolest looking boss of the bunch

46:13

for sure the fourth boss is this fucking ape

46:15

and I don't know if that was

46:17

a character I assume it was a character from the

46:19

show but maybe not, I don't fucking know but basically

46:21

you're on like a construction site and you

46:24

have to stand on these two beams that

46:26

are pointed like imagine, if you never played the

46:28

game, imagine the bottom of a pinball machine where

46:30

the two flippers are pointed at like a 45

46:32

degree angle down and then there's the hole in

46:34

the middle that's what these two girders look like

46:36

and then the ape is up above them all

46:39

on these blocks and the ape is pounding

46:41

the ground and making little baby apes fall

46:43

from the sky that are walking around and all you

46:45

need to do to defeat- and this was- I could

46:47

never get by this fucking ape fight as a kid

46:49

and then I finally figured out all you have to

46:51

do instead of jumping on his head like you do

46:53

other bosses you just have to jump on his kids

46:55

and if you kill enough of his kids, all the

46:57

beams he's standing on disappear and then he falls down

46:59

that hole, falls down the hole and then he dies

47:01

and then you move on I don't know what- so

47:03

again I don't remember if any of them are actual

47:05

like characters from the show or not I haven't played

47:07

the game in a- or watched the show in a

47:09

long time but that's the bosses of the first four

47:11

worlds, there is no boss in the fifth world, it's fucking

47:13

weird and then in the sixth world

47:15

you're in Montana Max's mansion and each of the

47:17

four bosses you defeat leading up plus

47:20

world five gives you a key and those keys

47:22

all open doors in Monty Max's mansion and so

47:24

you basically just have to get through five quick

47:27

levels and then you have a boss fight against

47:29

Monty and if you beat him, you save Babs

47:32

and the world is over, so that's

47:34

the basic gist of the game, it's

47:36

really like- it's a really charming little

47:38

platformer but it's not exactly the world's

47:41

deepest fucking platforming experience

47:43

or anything so I do want to go over the

47:45

graphics, I do want to go over the controls, I

47:47

do want to go over the music and I want

47:49

to go over some of the various levels but I

47:51

really need a drink of water, doing this by myself

47:54

the old throat gets pretty parched, so let's do- here's

47:56

what we'll do, we'll be- Tiny Toon

47:58

Adventures will be right back after this That works.

48:00

We'll go to a sponsor, then we'll come back and I'll run down the

48:02

rest of the stuff I want to talk about. We'll be right back. Kroger,

48:30

fresh for everyone. Savings may vary by

48:33

state. Restrictions apply. See site for details.

49:00

I was shocked that I beat it when I did. Playing

49:02

it the other day. Cause I could not beat it as

49:04

a kid. And I think what makes it so difficult is

49:06

that you only get one hit. Like,

49:08

if you can find a heart that are in these rare

49:11

bloons, the item boxes, then you get a heart and then

49:13

if you get hit once you lose the heart. And if

49:15

you can hit again, then you die. But

49:17

if you don't have a heart, it's one hit and you're

49:19

done. And everything is trying to fucking kill you. And like,

49:21

wait till I get to talking about fucking World 4. The

49:24

cheapest pile of shit that's ever shit. That level will fuck

49:26

you up. But

49:28

you are, everything is trying to kill you.

49:30

And it's, the game moves and controls really

49:32

well. It's super fluid, super smooth. Not a

49:34

lot of lag or stutter, which was a

49:36

big problem with so many S-Games. But it

49:38

almost like, I was trying to

49:40

explain it while I was streaming it. It's

49:42

kind of almost like playing a platformer on

49:45

ice. Like you really are sliding a lot.

49:47

Everything just feels kinda loose. It's not super

49:49

tight. And some of the hit

49:51

boxes and collision on some of the enemies

49:54

is pretty unforgiving. So, you will die a

49:56

lot. What's nice is that you have infinite

49:58

continues. But every time you continue, Like

50:00

say you die in world 4-3, you're not continuing

50:02

at the beginning of world 4-3, you're going back

50:04

to 4-1. And you have to get back to 4-3 that

50:06

way. But it is infinite continues.

50:08

No passwords, no saves, no nothing. But endless retries.

50:10

So as long as you got the patience to

50:12

sit there and keep chipping away at it, it's

50:14

a pretty beatable game. I think that was part

50:16

of the problem I had as a kid, was

50:18

I just never had that much patience. I would

50:20

get mad and rage quit and go and play

50:23

something that I understood. Something easy, like Mega Man.

50:26

Or something like that instead. So

50:29

it runs well, it controls pretty good, it's

50:32

really smooth, really fast. But it's

50:34

just, I do find it's just, it's

50:36

not... It

50:38

just, it kind of feels like Mario 3 if

50:40

everything was covered in grease. Like it's just a

50:42

little slippery. Can be just a little bit frustrating.

50:45

But I didn't find I was dying a lot

50:47

falling down holes. I was dying from getting hit

50:49

by things. And let's break down the level. So

50:51

world 1, you're just outside, it's basically like your

50:53

tutorial level. You're just running through fields. None of

50:55

the enemies are really all that difficult. The boss

50:57

is pretty simple. What I do find odd though,

50:59

is in the first level of world 1, you're

51:02

outside. The second level of world 1, you're outside.

51:04

Then you escape from Elmira, as you always do

51:06

at the end of the second level. And then

51:08

for some reason the third level is in

51:10

a haunted castle. And I don't quite understand

51:12

why. And the castle itself isn't too too

51:14

hard. But there are a couple of spots

51:16

where it's pretty easy to slip. Or there's

51:18

these like floating ghosts. They're

51:21

like white, like you know someone wearing like a

51:23

white sheet ghost costume. But they have a jack-o'-lantern

51:25

on her head. And they fly around. And sometimes

51:27

you don't know they're above you. And so you'll

51:29

bounce off an enemy and get a bunch of

51:31

air. And then accidentally hit one of these fucking

51:33

jack-o'-lantern ghosts. That's above you. And that's kind of

51:36

infuriating. But it's really not too hard. You'll beat

51:38

world 1 pretty easily. And that's it. Then you

51:40

beat world 1, tra-la-la. Then, and that one surely

51:42

doesn't recommend who to take. Take anybody you want.

51:45

Then in world 2, surely recommends that you take

51:47

Plucky. And there's a reason for

51:49

that. Because world 1 of, or stage 1 of

51:52

world 2 really isn't that big a deal. It's

51:54

just more classic outside platforming. But then level 2

51:56

is underwater. The whole level is on the ground.

52:00

underwater and like I said the other three characters

52:02

don't swim very well whereas plucky is like I'm

52:04

in a frog suit it is it is just

52:06

night and day so you definitely want to use

52:08

use plucky if at all possible and then the

52:11

third the third level of world two is this

52:13

pirate ship anyone that was watching the first night

52:15

I stream this that pirate ship fucking massacred me

52:17

because there's these stupid pirates that just run around

52:19

and they jump they're like they're all like the

52:22

highest jumpers in the world and you never know

52:24

when they're gonna jump and you're kind of falling

52:26

blind because you don't know when they're running around

52:28

underneath you ever some reason there's like wooden barrels

52:31

and if you step on them they hurt you

52:33

even though I don't quite understand why they hurt

52:35

you and then when you get

52:38

to the end of that you fight the pirate it

52:40

gets a little bit more difficult still

52:43

not too too bad I don't want my voice to

52:45

that but still not quite too bad then you get

52:47

into world three where they recommend that you take dizzy

52:50

and the first level again not too too bad but

52:52

the second level of world three is this

52:54

like haunted forest and

52:56

this is to me where the game really starts to

52:58

pick up difficulty because there are multiple paths

53:00

there's sometimes you can fall into a blind

53:02

pit not even knowing there's a blind pit

53:04

there if you have dizzy active you can

53:06

use this tornado spin to break down some

53:08

trees and create a couple of shortcuts to

53:10

get to the level faster but the problem is

53:12

that there's one of those balloons with the bouncy ball

53:15

in it that'll switch you from dizzy back to Buster

53:17

and if you accidentally touch it the only way

53:19

to swap back to dizzy is to die and

53:21

then come back into the level and let that item replenish like

53:23

it would have been again it maybe would have made it

53:25

too easy but it would have been nice you could just

53:27

hit select and swap like that would have been or even

53:30

if you could bank those like ball the swap balls

53:32

until you need to swap instead of just you have

53:34

to find one and touch it and if you accidentally

53:36

touch it and swap out to the other character now

53:39

you're just fucked until you get the good character back

53:41

so that haunted forest can be a little bit of

53:43

a bitch there's these fucking trees that like open

53:45

their mouths and then these bats come flying out

53:47

this hornets nest that when they bark they shoot

53:49

bees at you and that that forest

53:52

can be a little bit of a motherfucker and then

53:54

when you beat the forest which is world 3-2 then you

53:56

get into 3-3 which is like an underground cave is a

53:58

little bit of swimming But they recommend that

54:01

you take Dizzy in there still it's not too too

54:03

bad And then at the end of that cave you

54:05

have to fight the the werewolf That

54:07

is just falling from the sky and you leave a split

54:09

second to jump on him So he runs into this pit

54:12

and then he goes back into the air and falls from the

54:14

sky basically He's just falling disappearing out of the bottom of the

54:16

screen coming out of the top over and over its rupees It's

54:18

not too hard world four is where this game will fuck

54:20

you up, and this is where I always got stuck as

54:22

a kid I don't know if you're at your school. I

54:24

think it is it looks like you're out like a school

54:26

I don't know, but the first level is outside And

54:30

there's two enemies and the two enemies will

54:32

fuck you up There's all these windows in

54:34

the background in this building and

54:36

the windows randomly like dogs Randomly pop up

54:38

in the windows and look around and then

54:40

they whip flower pots at you But there's

54:42

also like stacks of tires and garbage cans

54:44

down on the street level that you have

54:47

to jump over and Cats randomly pop

54:49

out of them and throw tin cans at

54:51

you So there's all these thick contra like

54:53

there's all these projectiles going all over the map

54:55

you have one hit And it's

54:57

not just that the cans and the pots that are being

54:59

thrown at you will kill you if you jump and

55:01

write as a dog Happens to appear in a window

55:03

then the dog kills you if you happen to land

55:05

on a garbage can or a stack of tires Right

55:08

as the cat comes out then it instantly

55:10

kills you as well I died in level

55:13

four one and four two so many fucking

55:15

times They're so cheap because the only way

55:17

to know What windows and what

55:19

stacks of tires and what cans that these dogs and

55:21

cats are gonna pop out of is it is play

55:24

through The level over and over again and memorize where

55:26

they all are and it's pretty precise jumps a couple

55:28

of them to avoid hitting Them when they jump up

55:30

and it didn't find that their projectiles were killing

55:33

me half as much as the goddamn Denimies popping

55:35

out of the windows and just touching you I'm

55:37

trying to jump through the level we're fucking me

55:39

up So they that level drove me to almost

55:41

insane level one four one is fucking tough That's

55:43

the one where they suggest you take furball

55:45

And I don't find furball particularly useful

55:47

in four one or four two in

55:49

four two You're down like a back

55:52

alley and the dogs opening the windows

55:54

are gone But the cats that come out of

55:56

the piles of tires are still popping up and throwing

55:58

random cans at you plus this whole

56:00

place behind you and if you're not

56:02

careful of random places I don't

56:05

know what they are they look like punk rock mice women

56:07

they jump up from behind the fence land on the

56:09

street in front of the fence and then run right

56:11

toward you and if you touch one while they're in

56:14

the air or anything then you die so you're

56:16

watching for these cats that randomly pop out of

56:18

tires and whip cans at you but while you're

56:20

trying to jump over them in their cans if

56:22

you're not careful all of a sudden these fucking

56:24

punk mice rocker girls kick things jump up

56:26

from behind the fence and touch you and they fucking

56:29

kill you to those two levels are so cheap and

56:31

obnoxious they make me insane they're the hardest two levels

56:33

in the game are for one and four two fuck

56:36

there's so the old once you know where

56:38

the enemies are coming from they're not too

56:40

bad but learning and it's just it's there's

56:42

no indicator no nothing think Mario

56:44

when you never know when a piranha plant is

56:47

gonna come out of a pipe except these

56:49

things move way fucking faster and there's no

56:51

forgiveness and you touch one and you die

56:53

oh fuck those two levels and

56:55

then for three you have to climb the inside of

56:57

like a school building and that's where they recommend taking

56:59

fur ball because if you just have to climb up

57:01

with Buster it's so it's doable but it's a little

57:03

bit of a bitch with furball you can skip like

57:06

two-thirds of the level by just clinging to the walls

57:08

on the side of the screen and hopping up them

57:10

and climbing up plus there's a heart at the top

57:12

of world 4-3 before you fight the bus and you

57:14

can only get the heart by climbing up there with

57:16

furball if you're there with anybody else you can't get

57:18

this heart so so you get the heart

57:20

then you fight that 8 that I kept telling about earlier

57:22

that's in the pinball machine that I couldn't beat then

57:24

you get to world 5 and I was expecting world

57:27

5 to be the same as the first four words

57:29

three stages you have to dodge Elmira on the second

57:31

one and fight a boss at the end of the

57:33

third one but world 5 is nothing like

57:35

that I don't know what those creatures are called

57:38

they they look like like dodo birds they kind

57:40

of look like the spy versus spy birds

57:43

or like a rounder face and they're kind of like a teal

57:45

color and they've got the little drink umbrella coming out of

57:47

their head I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about I

57:49

don't know what that thing's name is you just

57:51

run through the level and they're just randomly like all over

57:53

the place and you just have to pick them up and

57:55

when you collect all of them they form a giant one

57:58

and then that's the end of the world There's

58:00

only one level that's not three. There's no boss

58:02

fight. There's no almira dodging. No nothing That's just

58:04

it then you get your key and you go

58:06

to Monty's mansion and To

58:08

me it felt like they were running running out of

58:10

time before they could release this game And they were

58:12

like fuck it make world five world four No, no

58:15

kids getting past world four if they do that make

58:17

world five easy You just have to collect these little

58:19

dodo birds I don't fucking know and

58:21

then you finally you wrap it up in world six

58:23

which is Monty's mansion And it's only one level again

58:26

But it's like six segments because like I said in

58:28

each of the previous five worlds You've got a key

58:30

when you beat it and now when you're in Monty's

58:32

mansion The first level you're

58:34

just kind of they're very short little quick levels

58:36

in the first level You're just dodging security guards

58:38

that throw knives at you I think well There's

58:40

like a butler up in a balcony above you

58:42

that goes by and randomly turns lights off So

58:45

you can't see where your platforms you're jumping are

58:48

And you just have to get through two or

58:50

three sets of these these bodyguards Then

58:52

you open the door and you into world two worlds who

58:54

are more the same bodyguards But you're just running and sliding

58:56

under spikes and just you don't even deal

58:59

with the bodyguards World three is the

59:01

bitch one you have to go up this elevator

59:03

and while you're going up this elevator There's cannons

59:05

on either side of the elevator shaft shooting bags of

59:07

money at you and some you have to jump over and some

59:09

you Have to duck over and again The only way to really

59:11

know is to just play it a few times and memorize it

59:14

World for that big bodybuilding

59:16

white dog From

59:19

I don't remember what its name was from tiny toons But

59:21

it keeps dropping down from the ceiling and running at you

59:23

really quickly So all you have to do is be ready

59:25

for it and just jump over them a few times and

59:27

then the fifth part of Monty Manchins Monty's mansion nothing can

59:29

kill you You just do a little bit of quick platforming

59:31

and you get to this door and then you fight Monty

59:33

Max And he's in the room where these

59:35

two doors up on balconies and he keeps appearing in one

59:37

And there's these massive boxing gloves on spring arms coming in

59:40

from the sides trying to punch you and all you

59:42

have to do is Basically jump on the boxing glove arm

59:44

get up and jump on max's head and you jump on

59:46

him three times You beat the game and that's it Like

59:49

there's not a lot of replayability Unless you want to

59:51

try with different combos or try to go faster or

59:53

anything infinite continues It's

59:56

just it's just world one two and most of three aren't

59:58

too bad world four will fuck you If

1:00:00

you get by world four world five is of cakewalk, and

1:00:02

then you just have to memorize the mansion and the game is over

1:00:05

So it's it's a neat little game like

1:00:07

it's it's like I'll be honest with you I would

1:00:09

like to add a physical copy of it to my collection I really

1:00:11

don't want to pay more than about I

1:00:14

don't know twenty or thirty dollars for it tops I don't think cuz

1:00:16

it's not like a game You beat it in an hour, and you

1:00:18

have no need to play it anymore But that's a lot of NES

1:00:20

games once you crack the code and figure them out. I'm

1:00:23

shocked We've never gotten like a tiny toons

1:00:25

adventures game collection We've gotten so

1:00:27

many other ones like Ninja Turtles and Jurassic Park

1:00:29

and Contra and Castlevania and all these other ones

1:00:31

I'd love to see a tiny toons collection I

1:00:34

think that'd be fucking sick Because I

1:00:36

really wish more people could play this game because it really

1:00:38

is it'll be a short a solid little

1:00:40

platformer Graphically, I think it looks great. I think

1:00:42

it is frankly one of the better looking games

1:00:44

on the NES Some people

1:00:46

that were coming by my streams Pointed

1:00:49

out that plucky in particular looked kind

1:00:51

of funny, but I like it so

1:00:53

they buster So you know like when you have a I?

1:00:57

Mean any animated character in any of these old

1:00:59

games They basically like the black outline and then

1:01:01

they're filled in you know like the same way

1:01:03

you draw like a cartoon or whatever well Buster

1:01:06

is surrounded by his outline is red plucky's is

1:01:08

green dizzy's is pink and furballs is blue And

1:01:10

I just think it's a really nice looking. I

1:01:12

think it looks really cool I'm a big fan

1:01:14

of the animation some of the enemies look really

1:01:16

really cool All the main characters have these cool

1:01:19

little like When when plucky doesn't

1:01:21

move for too long he starts tapping his foot on

1:01:23

the ground and giving you this like what the fuck look

1:01:25

Little Sonic the Hedgehog s Babs

1:01:27

or but Buster puts his hands behind his

1:01:29

back kind of starts stretching Dizzy tongue just

1:01:32

starts flopping out of his mouth, and he just starts panting I

1:01:34

like some of the little animation some of the enemies look kind

1:01:36

of neat I'll be it kind of stagnant, and

1:01:39

they don't have a lot of animation to them,

1:01:41

but they look cool I think a Myra looks

1:01:43

awesome I think those are some of the highlights

1:01:45

of the game even though they're easy are the

1:01:47

stages where you need to avoid getting caught By

1:01:49

a Myra the bosses all look great Monty max

1:01:51

looks great It's a really sharp looking game and

1:01:53

like I said it runs silky smooth. I don't

1:01:55

want to compare it to Kirby's

1:01:58

adventure because Kirby's Adventure I think

1:02:00

is one of the most ambitious games on the NES

1:02:03

but they came out around the same time in

1:02:05

the later end of the NES's lifespan and Kirby's

1:02:08

Adventure fucking chugs now Kirby's Adventure has three save

1:02:10

files on it eight worlds or whatever the fuck

1:02:12

Kirby's Adventure a much much bigger game That's just

1:02:14

the point I'm trying to make Mega Man 6

1:02:16

chugs a little bit too good-looking game chugs

1:02:19

a little bit on the NES This game runs very very

1:02:21

smooth for a game that came in toward the end I

1:02:24

mean I'd hear the argument that the reason it runs

1:02:26

so smooth is because it's so short and there's really

1:02:28

not even a ton of enemies In it like minus

1:02:31

the fucking world for where those things are

1:02:33

throwing pots and fucking games at you Can

1:02:35

just eat my whole ass fuck I hate

1:02:37

that fucking level but the game runs

1:02:39

really well the music is good the problem

1:02:41

is and you all heard it off

1:02:43

the top They have the

1:02:45

like chiptune version of the tiny toon theme but

1:02:48

unlike Chippendale and DuckTales and some of the

1:02:50

other ones This one's a

1:02:52

little bit shorter and they play it

1:02:54

on repeat It only in some levels in some

1:02:57

in the levels that aren't playing the

1:02:59

tiny toons adventure theme The it they're pretty solid like

1:03:01

you've heard you just heard one of them You can

1:03:03

hear the boss team here in a few more minutes

1:03:06

The music is really good But in the

1:03:08

few levels where it just plays that fucking

1:03:10

tiny toon adventures song on loop The

1:03:12

thing only goes for about 20 seconds and then it starts

1:03:14

over again And it gets really like

1:03:16

it gets old fast and some people pointed out that

1:03:19

when you're in levels where you're dying over and over

1:03:21

again, and that song just keeps playing oh It

1:03:24

gets to the point where you're like, yeah, I'm muting

1:03:26

the television. I can't fucking listen to this anymore Oh,

1:03:28

just fucking just got So

1:03:32

the music is good could be

1:03:35

better But overall I think they

1:03:37

do a great job of capturing kind of the feeling of

1:03:39

the show It's just really cartoony bright easy to

1:03:41

look at nice to listen to fun

1:03:43

to play Solid little platformer

1:03:46

trying to think there's anything else I wanted to talk about we touched

1:03:48

on every level We touched on all

1:03:50

the characters. I touched on the controls. I touched on

1:03:52

the music Like there's not

1:03:54

a lot of meat to the bone. I could kind

1:03:56

of use a password system or something But again, it's

1:03:58

only an hour long and if you're You're a kid and you've

1:04:00

got enough patience. Like I could have beaten this as

1:04:03

a kid. Problem is I would get to world four

1:04:05

and get stuck on that fucking level where they're all

1:04:07

throwing the goddamn cans and pots at me and eventually

1:04:09

I would just rage quit. Cause the problem is when

1:04:11

you continue, you start out with three lives and each

1:04:13

of those three lives you have one hit until you

1:04:15

can find a heart. And there's no heart for quite

1:04:18

a while in that first level of world four where

1:04:20

they're throwing all this stuff at you. So like I

1:04:22

was literally going through a continue in about eight seconds.

1:04:25

Like one, two, three, and then it was

1:04:27

back to reloading my continue. And then continue

1:04:29

again and then continue again. Like it just

1:04:31

fucked me up over and

1:04:33

over and over again. That fucking level

1:04:35

makes me fucking crazy. Ah,

1:04:38

God. I'm just

1:04:40

trying to think. I'm actually going to bring up

1:04:42

the Wikipedia page. I don't, I

1:04:44

know this was a little bit shorter episode, but I

1:04:46

don't really think there's any, like I think I've literally

1:04:48

covered this entire game. It's

1:04:51

a good game. It's fun. It came out

1:04:53

in 91. It's by Konami. It's a

1:04:55

solid little game. Yeah. I think of the

1:04:57

six levels. Uh,

1:04:59

Duck, Duck Vader is the name of that,

1:05:01

that Darth Vader thing. Duck, Duck Vader shows

1:05:03

up. That's even the Wikipedia page

1:05:06

is like two paragraphs. Like

1:05:08

there's just not a lot of meat on

1:05:10

this bone. This one, our Patreon poll, I'm glad it did.

1:05:12

I'm glad people love it, but it just, there's not a

1:05:15

lot of meat on the bone in this game. It is

1:05:17

very quick. Beat it in an hour. You're done.

1:05:20

Solid game. They didn't just cash in

1:05:22

on the name like they could have. Like some

1:05:24

other fucking developers did back, including Konami back

1:05:26

in this day. It's a pretty solid little platformer.

1:05:28

I like it. Um, is it

1:05:31

my favorite tiny toon game? I'll say yes,

1:05:33

but that's only because the only other tiny

1:05:35

toon game that I've played at all

1:05:37

is Buster busts loose on the SDS and

1:05:39

I've only played it once or twice. We

1:05:41

rented it once or twice. I remember liking it,

1:05:43

but I really don't know it well enough to give

1:05:46

it like a, you know, all that game. I'm

1:05:48

sure it's better than this. I hear all of you

1:05:50

people were coming by my streams being like, why are

1:05:52

you playing this? You should be playing Buster busts loose.

1:05:54

And I'm like, well, first of all, I want to

1:05:56

play this second of all, Buster busts loose didn't win

1:05:58

the Patreon poll. That's why

1:06:01

I'm playing this but I will

1:06:03

cover bust-a-bust loose at some point I also

1:06:05

really like to try this tiny tunes treasure

1:06:07

hunter game on the Genesis I just I

1:06:09

genuinely like the tiny tunes like I As

1:06:13

a kid I liked them better than looney tunes. I

1:06:15

just think they look cool They're colorful there. They're

1:06:17

you know, they're tiny the toonie. They're a

1:06:19

little looney That

1:06:21

was kind of lame, but I like them. I like

1:06:24

the tidy toon. I will cover more of these games

1:06:26

moving forward. I promise I Think

1:06:29

I'm done. I think that's really the that's

1:06:31

it. That's it. There's not a lot else There's

1:06:34

not a lot else to this fucking game for

1:06:36

me to talk about as far as slapping a

1:06:38

score on this thing Uh,

1:06:41

I mean, I guess I could go there's six

1:06:43

worlds Well, how many levels are

1:06:45

there though? There's three in world one three and world two

1:06:47

three and world three three and world four So that's twelve

1:06:50

and then one in world five is

1:06:52

13 And then if you count

1:06:54

every room in Monty's mansion, then you have 14 15 16 17 18 19 So

1:06:59

it's scored out of 19 different levels that you

1:07:01

play in the game Hmm

1:07:05

I Really

1:07:08

have no qualms with it from a quality

1:07:10

point The one the one

1:07:13

issue that I have with it. I think is that it's just

1:07:15

it's short It's short and there's not a lot to

1:07:17

it. And if you got good enough to beat it as a kid Like

1:07:21

it's less than an hour and you're done, you know The

1:07:24

it's just that they I feel like they put world four in there to

1:07:26

stop you from beating it in an hour fuck world

1:07:28

four I'll

1:07:30

give it a You

1:07:33

know what I'll give it a 15 out of 19 by any standards This

1:07:37

is one of the I think this is one

1:07:39

of the better platformers and that's my that's my

1:07:41

wheelhouse I love platforming games. I think it's one

1:07:43

of the platformers on the NES I think it's

1:07:45

one of the better license games on

1:07:47

the NES and frankly, I would say it's probably in

1:07:50

my top Might

1:07:54

make my top 30 their top 30 top

1:07:56

35 any ask it's a solid title and

1:07:59

it frustrates me It's never been made available

1:08:01

anywhere else. I really just putting it

1:08:03

under the universe because I seem to have this audibility The

1:08:05

wish things into existence give us a

1:08:08

tiny to his game compilation package, please

1:08:10

Give me this give me Buster bus loose Give

1:08:12

me the treasure hunter one from the Genesis give

1:08:15

me tiny to an adventures to for the NES

1:08:17

which I've never played But I remember

1:08:19

seeing an advertisement for it all the time at Archie comics

1:08:21

when I was a kid And I always thought it looked

1:08:23

cool Give me Babs big break from the

1:08:25

game But just give me all the game all the tiny toon

1:08:27

games in one package and I'll buy it

1:08:30

cuz it's tiny to it Who doesn't love the tiny

1:08:32

toons course me bad? Anyway,

1:08:34

that is it. I think I literally just covered

1:08:37

the whole game. So thank you so much for

1:08:39

listening everybody Sorry again about accidentally deleting

1:08:41

your comments. That wasn't intentional. I just suck in

1:08:43

my job I'm gonna cue up the boss

1:08:45

battle music from this game because I think it's pretty good. I'll put

1:08:47

it right here And

1:08:51

when that stops I'll do my outro thanks to

1:08:53

1:09:23

1:09:28

1:09:30

1:09:32
