What's up Rotatos, it's Jasper and back.

0:05

I hope you're ready to find out

0:07

what awaits our crew at Fort Cutler

0:09

and what remains of the Cutler Clan.

0:12

Boy, it's such a good arc. Love

0:14

it so much. Hopefully you're enjoying it. If

0:17

you are enjoying it, a little favour

0:19

if you don't mind. Leave us a review. Like

0:22

us, review us, helps new

0:24

people find us, helps people find the majesty

0:26

that is Zac Oyama, and he's

0:28

DMing, which not enough people have heard. Like, because

0:31

everyone needs to have heard it, and because everyone

0:33

hasn't heard it, therefore not enough people have heard

0:35

it. So, leave us a

0:37

review. And let other people know that

0:39

the show is here, and it's amazing, and it's great.

0:42

And if you want more of it, you can check it out

0:44

on the Rotating Heroes Patreon. But I think, you

0:46

know, that's enough from me. You want to get into this.

0:49

So let's get into this. Take it

0:51

away, past Zac. And

0:57

now presenting a

0:59

Rotating Heroes Podcast.

1:21

Welcome back to the

1:23

Rotating Heroes Podcast. I'm

1:25

joined, as always, so

1:28

far, for the seventh

1:30

time with the rotators

1:32

of the third arc. I'm

1:35

just going to go around the order and say

1:38

just hello to everyone, see how they're doing.

1:40

It's been a minute since we've recorded, so

1:43

I just want to just get some fresh

1:45

takes of just how people are feeling. Let's

1:47

get some raw emotion here. You

1:49

know, I'm at the Loxodon Druid, uh,

1:52

Grib. We got Jacob

1:55

Wysocki. What's up? Soft.

1:58

Soft was up. How's it

2:00

going? I'm good. I'm good. I'm

2:03

a... I

2:07

love to hear that, Zach. I love to hear that you're doing

2:09

well. That's excellent. That's

2:12

good news. This is the

2:14

best foot I could have started off

2:16

with, but... I'm excited to

2:18

be here tonight. This

2:23

is great energy. Let's keep going. To

2:26

me, this is the best energy a person can

2:28

have. Forward, abundant,

2:30

plenty full. Just feeling like

2:32

someone's mad at you, but they don't say it.

2:34

It's like, you know what you did wrong, so

2:37

I'm not going to say it. Thanks

2:40

for showing up. Got it. It

2:42

really honestly is making me sweat immediately.

2:44

Oh, oh, so? Thank you.

2:46

Thank you. That was...

2:48

You know, I probably could have started on a different foot,

2:51

but I'm glad that you're here. I'm

2:53

glad to be hanging out with you. I'm

2:55

glad to see what you do with your new staff that we're

2:57

going to talk about. Ooh, I can't wait. Great.

3:01

Well, let's continue the raw emotion train all

3:03

the way around. We

3:06

have the Clank Queen herself. Freya

3:10

the Unforgettable, aka Victoria Longwell.

3:13

Victoria, from everyone. How are

3:15

you doing? Oh, hello.

3:17

I feel good. I

3:20

think I like the Clank Queen. I

3:22

think that's fun. Sounds cool.

3:25

I like it even though my

3:28

armor does make me noisy and not as

3:30

sneaky. Yeah, it's just

3:32

like owning it is cool. Yeah, but

3:34

I'm good. I

3:37

bought a light quilt

3:40

for my bed because the

3:42

hot weather is coming, and

3:44

I'm feeling good about that. Yeah. You

3:47

know what's weird about my sleep

3:49

is that I do like the

3:51

idea of like weighted blankets, but

3:54

then it just gets too hot. And

3:56

I don't know if I could ever do

3:58

a weighted blanket in the summer. like

4:00

a recipe for dying. It just seems too hot. That'd be

4:02

too hot. It's just probably hot. Yeah. Yeah.

4:06

Well, I hope that goes well. Thank

4:08

you. It comes tomorrow. We're sponsored. This

4:10

podcast is sponsored by the idea of

4:12

Light Quilts. If you

4:15

go out there and get one, use promo code

4:18

RHPOD Light Quilt. Harish

4:23

Pod. Harish Pod. And

4:25

finally, you know him as sort

4:29

of fulfilling his destiny, meeting all

4:31

his family, sort of

4:34

the next Cutler in line after

4:36

his brother. We have Rufus Cutler,

4:39

aka Devin Field. Happy

4:41

to be here, Zach. Raw emotion flowing

4:43

through me. Feeling

4:46

vulnerable, feeling open, feeling... Are

4:48

we good? Are we

4:50

good right now, Zach? Who are your guys? These

4:54

are the Mark Maron jokes. That's

4:57

all I have. Okay, great. Well, excited

5:00

to be here with you all. Jacob,

5:03

forgot to ask if we're good. Jacob,

5:05

we good? We've never been

5:07

bad. Okay. Okay.

5:11

I'm feeling in an emotional state after

5:14

this where I might at some point today

5:16

just like start doing some stand up, but

5:18

where I'm like perched on the edge of

5:20

a stool, you know, I'm like

5:22

kind of sitting. I'm like mostly sitting and

5:25

I'll segue into it by going like, I don't know,

5:28

you know, stuff like that. Sort

5:30

of a gargoyle hunch? Yeah,

5:32

kind of. Yeah, exactly. Sort

5:34

of shoulders inward, holding the

5:37

mic kind of with a

5:39

curled fist, knees up, rocking

5:42

back and forth. Devin, I

5:44

don't know a ton about stand up, so forgive me if this

5:46

is a bad question. Happy to educate you. Oh

5:49

my God. Have you ever... Oh,

5:52

let's kick back and learn. No, I mean,

5:54

this is a subject that hasn't really been discussed

5:56

on podcasts, so I'd really be happy to break

5:58

it down for you. how it works. Yeah.

6:02

Have you ever organically sat on a stool in the

6:04

middle of a set? That's a

6:06

good question. I don't think so. I don't

6:08

think so. I think I would be, I'm

6:10

too self-conscious about, I think

6:12

the amount of times I have sat down

6:14

while performing stand-up would be like less, less

6:17

than three, you know, and it

6:19

would only be. You did it at three times like. Yeah,

6:22

it would have only been to like

6:25

illustrate something like I would never just

6:27

start there. Yeah, I don't know, not

6:29

my speed. Part of that is like I

6:31

haven't done as many like headlining shows where

6:33

I would be doing like an hour or

6:35

like 45 minutes or something when

6:37

I think it might be more natural to like

6:39

spend some time when you're doing like a 10-minute

6:42

spot at a bar. And they'll. Why are

6:44

you lounging? Yeah, like what do you, why are

6:46

you already covered out with his knee? What's

6:48

going on? No, I'm going to get into

6:51

stand-up now and I am only going to

6:53

sit. Smart. No matter

6:55

how short my set is. Yeah. In

6:58

fact, I'm going to work with this stool. You could

7:00

be doing a three-minute open mic. You're sitting. Yeah,

7:03

maybe I'll sit. She looks exhausted. While someone else comes

7:05

out. It's going to be my thing. I'm

7:08

going to get into stand-up at 33. That's

7:10

probably not that late. Rodney Dangerfield

7:13

was selling an aluminum siding until almost

7:15

his 40s. There you go.

7:18

Really? And that's what keeps me waking up. Stories

7:20

like that. John Hamm, the John

7:23

Hamm stories of it all. Oh,

7:25

maybe it's just later in life.

7:27

Billy Baldwin didn't hit until he was

7:29

36. And look at him now. I

7:33

recently watched a backtrack. Jacob has been in movies. What's

7:35

that? Jacob has been in movies. That's

7:37

true. You've already done it, dude. Hey,

7:40

hell yeah, man. Thank you. Anyway,

7:42

I'm secret mad at all of you. Okay.

7:44

Oh, dang. I knew we weren't good, dude. Yeah, yeah.

7:47

We could feel it. All

7:50

right. Well, now that

7:52

the energy is perfect, let's continue

7:54

with a little recap. Last time

7:56

on the Rotating Heroes pod, after

7:58

being rescued by the fright frighteningly

8:00

powerful werebear, our

8:02

heroes were introduced to the man behind

8:04

the bear, Lao Ranston, not

8:06

Cranston, who revealed himself to be Rufus' uncle

8:09

on his mom's side. With the Red Rust

8:11

Clan still hot on their tail, Lowell advised

8:13

that rotators to cut through the swamp while

8:15

he led the enemy troops in and off

8:18

away from them, also inviting that

8:20

the swamp is filled with lies and horrors.

8:23

Confused and tired, our heroes began

8:25

a mucky journey through the swamp,

8:27

careful to avoid some creepy lights,

8:30

but unable to avoid a lizard

8:32

kid ambush and some hurtful arguing

8:34

about family. You can't see me

8:37

right now, but I'm mouthing mom. Towards

8:40

the end of the journey, our heroes tried

8:42

to sneak around a horrific, shambling mound, but

8:44

like we mentioned earlier, the Clank

8:46

Queen herself caught the monster's attention and they had

8:48

to do battle once more. Luckily, the monster was

8:50

still injured from its previous fight with the lizard

8:53

kin and our heroes were able to make quick

8:55

work of it, procuring an ancient wooden staff that

8:57

was stuck in the beast's back. Our

9:00

heroes eventually found safety in

9:02

Lowell's Barred Inn slash Warden

9:04

outpost. Before Freya could

9:07

find a mirror, Lowell rejoined them

9:09

and let them know a little more about what's

9:21

going on in the forest. He regretfully

9:23

revealed one major truth, that Zophin,

9:25

the goddess of nature, appeared

9:27

on this plane to sacrifice herself in order to

9:30

save the realm from the massive war that was

9:32

suffocating it. This sacrifice created

9:34

the endless hope, but also took her

9:36

out of the game, meaning the forest

9:39

is relatively unprotected from all manner of

9:41

malevolent forces across the known plane. After

9:44

the grim news, our heroes updated Lowell on

9:46

the situation at Walden Keep, a place that

9:49

only meant bad news to Lowell, and that's

9:51

where we are today. It's

10:00

probably noonish. Lowell

10:02

just had this conversation with you

10:04

guys where he explained the severity

10:06

of the situation overall with this

10:08

world. And you

10:11

just told him about Walden Keep. And

10:13

he is, you look

10:15

outside, and he is digging up

10:19

the ground in a certain spot. Just

10:22

see this huge jacked dude out

10:25

the window, just with

10:27

a shovel just digging in one

10:29

spot. Wow. You

10:32

guys notice Freya just peeking out the window.

10:35

A cup of coffee. Freya, what are you staring at?

10:38

Huh? Yeah. Oh. You're

10:40

staring with sort of an intense, there's a heat

10:42

to your stare. I'm sort of just wondering what

10:45

it's directed at. No, I was meditating.

10:47

I was meditating. I was doing my morning

10:49

meditation. Anyone seen what Lowell's doing over here?

10:52

You do a morning meditation? This is the first

10:54

I'm hearing of this. I do

10:56

two meditations every day, 20 minutes. You

11:00

do TM? What's

11:02

your mantra? She

11:05

can't tell you. She could. She

11:07

can't tell you that. She couldn't tell you. She could.

11:11

If I could tell anyone, it would be you. That's

11:14

me cribbage. Oh, it's cribbage. Sorry.

11:17

I keep confusing you. Stop confusing them.

11:20

Tell me your mantra. Yes,

11:22

that's what I'm saying. I

11:25

can't tell anyone my mantra. You

11:27

know what my mantra is? No, don't tell. Tell

11:30

us. I blaze. I blaze.

11:34

I blaze. Well, you all know that's not

11:36

my mantra. I blaze. Should

11:39

we go check on the manic lab digging? Yeah,

11:42

what is he doing? Perhaps he just needs to pop

11:44

on the shoulder, bring him back to reality. Should I

11:46

do that? If you want to tap him

11:48

on the shoulder, be my guest. Well,

11:51

I think I'll try and pull him out of the trance.

11:53

He is like, yeah, almost like has like

11:56

a frothing sweat with his like huge mane

11:58

and pair while he's digging. It's

12:00

just like all back muscles. My

12:04

way that people who are actually strong ai

12:06

exit and I walk up. It

12:08

everything okay. Is

12:11

everything okay? Yes. Sorry. About

12:13

that I think a the right he

12:15

like. Wipes, His forehead

12:17

sticks the shovel on the ground.

12:20

he pretty strong. Up

12:22

Thank you I. You. Know sometimes when

12:24

you just stay active, you. Encounter

12:26

you don't have to do any actual workouts

12:28

if you're just gonna keeping up. I lift

12:30

up my source. Oh trust

12:33

me, I know this. Oh. Through

12:38

busy watching for

12:40

the window above

12:42

it seems like

12:44

a packet. Durham

12:46

washboard surrounded Grade

12:48

Twelve Act. As

12:51

watching feel and see how to

12:53

like wow. What

12:56

the hell? Since when was Grim rocking

12:58

such an insane body? I read this

13:00

is nuts. I do the guy a

13:03

strong arms that of course giant elephant

13:05

legs but that. That. Corps

13:07

and say. It is

13:09

something. Don't. Tell nice at that. Time

13:12

I'll tell him I do with him. We

13:16

start comparing back muscles. The

13:18

take my second can ask your question about gray

13:20

area. Something I literally was only

13:22

the only time I've ever thought about. This

13:25

was between last session in the session and

13:27

I haven't even looked it up. The What

13:29

Is Grebes Actual Strength. Ah

13:31

oh, it's not high. He

13:34

decided to set the so disagree

13:36

with five Years. Well it's it's

13:39

it's a thirteen at the top

13:41

was group is like a weird

13:43

fitness rat who like is totally

13:45

lean and or is totally shredded

13:47

but like cannot actually list a

13:49

giant every vote now because lox

13:51

it on to actually do they

13:53

can carry much more like they're

13:55

only have abilities to carry more

13:57

weight than. That is separate than their

13:59

string. Modify Okay, yeah. Okay,

14:02

they like it may be carrying

14:04

capacity that time. Ah yes in

14:06

recent like it's called powerful build.

14:08

Ah can the event is Amazon

14:11

Point and thirteen? not not. I

14:13

mean like you could have much

14:15

lower strength? Yes it was. I'll

14:17

be honest, it's my dump stat.

14:20

But. I still think I'm teen. Is

14:22

your dumpster? That's. Ridiculous. Yeah

14:25

well. I. Know that my strength as

14:27

nineteen? Years. I mean,

14:29

I'm at fifteen. What the fuck is going

14:31

on? Jack. I

14:34

haven't a to have much higher like

14:36

ten is supposed to be normal. Ah

14:38

and so you are all just a

14:40

bunch of strong for yeah man and

14:42

I'm showing my back muscles after this

14:44

guy's i hear the biggest back muscles

14:46

the day but router I'm not sure

14:48

as you just a raw strength roll

14:50

off yeah I knew and then of

14:52

Gary you and I alone am so

14:54

I'm gonna roll a d twenty at

14:57

our strength modifiers. Seven.

14:59

Plus for fog. Or five

15:01

Spd are going to sixteen. Okay,

15:04

so you're adding you guys look out

15:06

the window. Uneasy grids, back muscles, just.

15:09

Popping. A little more vascular early

15:11

there now. Lowes home might latin do

15:13

nothing or you're like yeah looks at

15:15

you have wings because you like get your

15:18

lats you been using. Reality of it

15:20

can be be a Jacob voice asked you

15:22

know to do what he tried to

15:24

make himself with larger items defeated it's oh

15:26

you mean to get bigger teams. Oh

15:33

cool. I was like a man. Awesome.

15:35

I think that's great. But I'm back

15:37

to the more important things. Why are

15:39

you digging this whole love. You.

15:41

See him just like pull out this big

15:44

chess. And pop it on

15:46

the ground. Mom. He

15:48

had. He just had clearly buried this

15:50

for. I'd you know just

15:52

to to protect the contents of it

15:54

is like our guys come out here.

15:57

Let's let's discuss him. Rufus Reds Down.

15:59

How. we divide the treasure inside this

16:01

chest? Freya jumps out the window

16:04

when he says come down here lands

16:06

on her feet. Yeah make a acrobatics

16:09

check. Okay well I guess

16:11

she maybe doesn't land on her feet we'll

16:13

see. 18. Yeah you see uh Freya

16:16

just do sort of this dive out the

16:18

window and like roll as she

16:20

hits the ground perfectly without making

16:22

a sound unlike the armor

16:25

seems like it would suggest making a

16:27

clank but no and uh

16:29

there's a surprising amount of grace there.

16:31

Well like nods like uh impressed so

16:34

he's like this isn't treasure for us

16:37

this is um after hearing your

16:39

description of what's going on near Walden Keep

16:41

um we it sounds like something that we

16:43

have to move on right now uh and

16:45

he opens it and inside you see a

16:48

couple of things first you see what looks

16:51

like five glass vials uh

16:54

they have this bright orange liquid in

16:57

them that almost looks like it's glowing

16:59

outside of that in like a little

17:01

separate compartment he takes out this bronze

17:04

figurine it's got like a hawk

17:06

looking creature on it that has like

17:08

as you look at it more it looks like

17:11

it has like like a lion's body and he

17:13

holds it up and he says I feel

17:15

like the situation is pretty

17:18

grave and time is of the essence but there's

17:21

a couple things that we need to discuss before we go up

17:23

there first off um I

17:26

think uh well I'll just show

17:28

you and he just smashes it on the ground

17:30

now that hits the ground just like purple smoke

17:33

kind of billows out of it and you see

17:35

the the sort of this this large cloud of

17:37

purple smoke billow out and then you see sort

17:39

of flapping wings in here like like

17:42

kind of like a weird bird noise

17:44

and as the smoke dissipates there's this

17:46

large griffin standing there before you just

17:48

kind of like kicking in place like

17:51

shaking its why it doesn't really have

17:53

a mane but like you know shaking

17:55

its feathers out uh and just

17:57

like kind of waiting for a command

17:59

what's beautiful creature. My

18:02

god. Thank you. So

18:04

this magnificent beast drinks this carrot

18:06

juice that you have? Is that what's

18:08

going on? Not at all. This is not what that is

18:10

for. In fact, I think this

18:13

one is kind of strange in that it's coming from

18:15

this magical artifact. I'm not even sure if it eats

18:17

anything at all. I found this quite a

18:19

while ago but didn't have a great reason to

18:21

use it yet but this seems like the perfect time. This

18:24

is not carrot juice. This is in fact a

18:27

powerful alchemical explosive. It's

18:29

almost like, he wouldn't know this

18:31

word but napalm. So

18:35

I think what

18:37

we need to do is buy people

18:39

time if they're at the key. I'm

18:42

going to run up myself as a

18:44

bear just because I can

18:46

move a lot faster than you guys probably.

18:48

And you guys, this one is,

18:51

you can see that it's like a pretty large rippen. You

18:53

don't, maybe, you assume that you have never

18:56

seen one of these creatures before. Maybe you've heard of

18:58

them. But it looks big enough that

19:00

all of you guys could fit on it which is not

19:03

exactly how they normally work but like

19:05

it seems like it's just an exceptionally

19:08

large one. It's like you guys can

19:10

ride up to the keep on this

19:13

and we're going to try to slow down these

19:15

bugs. If they got the scent of the people,

19:17

if it feels like, they're almost like bees, right?

19:19

People made them mad at this point so they're

19:21

going to keep chasing them. So you guys can

19:23

use this stuff to try to slow them down

19:26

and then we can get into the castle and

19:28

try to get those men out

19:31

of there. There's got to be some kind of

19:33

secret way out. All these

19:35

old castles kind of have that kind of thing. So

19:38

we'll just have to figure that out when we get

19:40

there. But I'm going to run up. But before I

19:42

do that, and Rufus, he takes you to the side

19:45

and he's like, you know, I

19:47

wish we could have done this in sort of a

19:50

way that honored the

19:53

traditions and duty of this but I

19:55

was going to offer you a choice.

20:00

would you at all

20:02

be interested in joining

20:04

me and your family as

20:07

a warden of the forest? The

20:09

choice is yours and you know it's

20:12

something that should be a

20:15

joyous ceremony. It has

20:17

a lot of duty involving it but I

20:19

was going to offer it to you today.

20:22

We could do a plane ceremony. I get to be

20:24

a bear. Yeah

20:26

that's part of it. You would get to be a bear.

20:28

I get to be a bear and I get to be

20:31

in a family. Yeah you of course are a part of

20:33

this family. You have your own family as well. Right I

20:35

guess that's sort of my... geez that's kind

20:37

of my question. Would I still be part of the

20:40

other family? Do you know what I mean?

20:42

Like I just don't... oh god. I just

20:44

don't know. So a lot of people have

20:46

two sides of their family. Uh-huh. They're uh...

20:49

right. Both of their parents or whatever

20:51

kind of uh... Right so I

20:53

kind of have to choose one is what you're saying?

20:56

Not well as long as you're a bear

20:58

warden you kind of have to... while

21:00

you're in the forest you have to

21:02

honor the traditions of the bear warden

21:04

and the duty that that that

21:07

accompanies that but it doesn't mean

21:09

you can never leave the forest. You just won't

21:11

have your powers. So you're telling

21:13

me that I could be accepted

21:16

by my uncle and

21:19

become a powerful bear and

21:21

still be a member of my family and

21:23

earn the respect of my father and brother

21:25

by saving their lives? Hey

21:28

buddy sounds like you can have it all. Wow

21:30

I always knew I could. I accept

21:33

and furthermore I'd like to

21:36

say one thing to you before

21:38

you go which is

21:42

please come with us. Oh

21:44

I'm uh I'm gonna

21:46

meet... yeah yeah but come but meet has

21:48

a whole plan. Maybe just come with us

21:50

though. I heard I know I heard the

21:53

plan but maybe stay close to me and

21:55

we could talk more. I hear you. You

21:57

know. I hear you. Yeah well I can

21:59

I'm gonna meet you there. Yeah,

22:02

people have told me that before and

22:04

I've been burned. You know? So. Really?

22:07

Yeah. Okay. I've

22:09

had a lot of social engagements where someone's like, oh, I'll

22:12

be like, are you going to the Fort dance? And someone will

22:14

be like, I will see you there

22:16

Rufus. And I'll be like, okay. And then no,

22:18

and then they're not. They just

22:20

didn't show up to the dance? Yeah. They

22:23

have dances at the fort? Yeah. Very

22:25

spirited and rousing nights of

22:28

revelry with lots of heavy

22:30

loot. And

22:32

yet I was often sitting

22:35

alone in the corner. So anyway, maybe just be

22:37

simpler if we all just got on this griffin

22:40

thing together and. Okay.

22:43

Why don't we just do the oath of the bear warden? Shall we? Okay.

22:47

Okay. He

22:50

takes his axe and he puts it on your

22:52

shoulder. You see this like weighted. I mean, it's,

22:54

it's, it's, you know, almost like a

22:56

queen putting a sword on your shoulder, but like

22:59

a huge two handed axe by this giant person.

23:01

And he, and he looks at you, takes

23:04

a breath in from the fresh forest air

23:06

and says Rufus.

23:09

Cutler. Do you swear to

23:12

fight for the animals from the

23:14

smelliest skunk to the most powerful wyvern to

23:17

make this forest a place for all. Do

23:21

I repeat that? And it's a

23:23

tired you just say I do. I

23:26

do. What

23:28

was the last animal you said a worven a wyvern

23:31

a wyvern. I

23:33

could be saying it wrong. A

23:36

wyvern. Is it like a chimera? Is a

23:38

wyvern like a chimera? It's

23:41

sort of a big flying bee. Yeah. Like

23:43

a chimera. It kind of has a, it

23:45

has parts of different kind of animals or

23:47

something. Look, it's a big forest.

23:50

There's a lot of skunks. Some skunks and wyverns, et

23:52

cetera. Maybe worvens too. Couple more of these things. So

23:54

we're just going to, I don't know if we have

23:56

time for questions between every single one. Okay.

24:00

if there were wirvens or not. Do you swear

24:02

to preserve? To leave the forest

24:04

better off than you found it? The

24:06

campsite rule. Yes, I do swear. Yeah. Do

24:09

you swear to maintain a level of

24:12

vigilance and preparedness so that we may

24:14

always prevent forest fires? Well, yes,

24:17

Rufus kind of wipes the tear away

24:19

thinking of any forest fire, the responsibility

24:21

of protecting a forest from a fire.

24:24

Yes, I do, because I and

24:27

only I could prevent forest fires. You

24:30

see, well, I'll just kind of wipe the tear

24:32

away. He's like, that's right, that's right. Do

24:35

you swear to swim as fast as the

24:38

salmon, to climb as true

24:40

as a squirrel, and to

24:42

bound across foliage like the

24:44

most carefree deer? To

24:46

not just patrol the trees, but to truly

24:49

live amongst them? Yes,

24:51

yes, a thousand times, yes. And

24:53

do you swear if need be, if the heart of

24:55

the forest is at stake, to lay down your life

24:58

for the good of the inhabitants both Flora and

25:00

Fauna? Freya,

25:06

walk size with grub and mouths. I

25:09

knew he was gonna have a problem with this. I

25:11

just shake my head, my eyes

25:13

been wide, kind of Keenan Thompson wide, like

25:16

what's kind of? He's

25:20

like struggling to hold his arm up with the ax.

25:24

Yeah, sure. Okay, rise

25:28

Rufus Cutler, son of

25:30

Leifka. That's your mom's name, I forget

25:32

if we said that in a previous episode. Wow, Leifka.

25:39

And accept your title as Warden

25:41

of the Forest, an Ursine Protector

25:43

of the Malgosian Kingswood, and all

25:46

that title now encompasses. Yes, this

25:48

is incredible. And he just grabs you

25:51

by the shoulder, and he like Leonardo

25:53

DiCaprio in the revenant, just starts shaking

25:55

you around. Oh my God! He

26:01

takes six points of damage as

26:03

he just thrashes you around. He

26:06

runs you on the ground. He's

26:09

pulling it off! Quite

26:11

subtle, though, truly. He

26:13

kind of shakes it off. He had

26:16

briefly turned into a bit of a hybrid bear

26:18

form. With that...

26:21

Sorry about that. You might want to heal up a little bit before

26:23

we get out of here. But

26:26

soon enough you will transform. What did

26:28

that accomplish? I feel like you dislocated

26:30

my shoulder. I probably

26:32

did. He grabs your arm and just... AHHH! AHH!

26:38

Yeah. Sucked, right? Sucked.

26:40

Yes! Absolutely sucks. Well,

26:45

we should get going. Okay! Once

26:48

you take off on the griffin, you

26:51

know, you'll be able to see what you need to do. And

26:54

then I'll meet you at the castle. You

26:56

know, it's been really great to meet all of you. Thank

26:59

you for helping us on our

27:01

quest, and congratulations on your transformation.

27:04

I'm going to get on the griffin

27:07

that I've decided to name, Gongobaws. Let's

27:10

get on Gongo! Well,

27:13

it's been, well,

27:16

quite something. Thank you for

27:18

everything. You're welcome. I

27:21

forgot to ask you. I meant to say this earlier, but... Do

27:25

you dream? Do

27:28

I dream? In the forest? Do

27:30

I dream of the forest? Do you

27:32

dream in the forest? Oh. Well,

27:35

I hate to give you this detailed

27:37

of an answer, but I do unless

27:39

I'm on my period. But

27:41

you have been in the forest. Okay, wow. But

27:44

I haven't had a dream. That

27:47

sounds right. Why? The

27:51

Dream Eaters, they target the elves. Then

27:53

it takes off. What?

27:56

Pretty cool. Oh no! Pretty

27:59

cool, honestly. God. Just

28:01

like one of these, I mean, this is

28:03

constantly happening to me. I meet an important

28:06

family figure, and then they just leave. Somebody's

28:10

been eating my dreams? Let's

28:12

get on Gongo Boz. Wow, that's fucked up

28:15

me. Cribbage,

28:17

not now. This guy's all pile on

28:19

his Gongo Boz. Is that what you

28:21

said? Yep. Gribble,

28:23

is that two words? Gongo and

28:25

Boz? Yeah, it's kind of like

28:27

a Babu Frick scenario. I'm

28:30

not familiar with what you're talking about. Me neither, but

28:32

it's cute. So

28:51

you guys, you all pile

28:53

onto Gongo Boz. Yes,

29:01

it's working. Yes. Wow.

29:05

And also, I forgot to say, you guys are

29:07

flying over there. Do you want to, before we

29:09

get into it, check out these items?

29:12

Cribbage pops up, it's like, are we gonna have

29:14

a look at these little papers and stuff? Or

29:16

that blue clown thing? Oh

29:19

my God, Cribbage, fine. I'm

29:22

sorry, man. I just thought it'd be important

29:24

to look at it. It is important, that was helpful.

29:27

Thank you, thank you. You have these

29:29

papers that you stole from

29:31

that officer tent. And

29:37

they're kind of a mess, but everybody,

29:39

give me an investigation check. 30,

29:42

20, 15. I critted. You

29:45

critted? Yeah. Okay. Which

29:48

is cool, because I have no modifier for

29:50

investigation. Nice. So yes, Fray,

29:52

this is all pretty foreign to

29:54

you, but looking at it, for

29:57

some reason you're able to contextualize this stuff that

29:59

you... you've never seen before in a way that makes

30:01

sense with that group of people. You remember them talking

30:04

about like, you know, they have to

30:06

collect something for, you know, like, maybe

30:09

you heard the word offering some at

30:11

some point, you're looking at this,

30:13

and it looks like there's a map of this

30:16

area of the forest when you like inspect

30:18

it closer, it's obviously a different kind of, it

30:21

feels a little different than a map that you would have made up

30:23

for color. That's why maybe it was like kind of hard to tell

30:25

at first. But there's all these like

30:28

blue dots that indicate different

30:30

points of the map that

30:32

show like kind of this

30:34

like, Malgozian kingdom. And

30:36

what you can tell that like on a Nat 20, you

30:40

can tell that the place that you would just

30:42

were at that crash site, that is one of

30:44

the blue dots. You so

30:46

it seems like you could probably

30:48

deduce that there are other

30:50

people out there with similar maps, trying

30:52

to dig up stuff

30:55

and bring something to somewhere. Because

30:57

you see in the center of map is

30:59

a larger blue dot,

31:02

which marks this place that you would know as Malgoz,

31:04

but that was supposed to be sort of a lost

31:06

city. And so it seems

31:09

like these red rust clan guys are

31:11

congregating some kind of power there once

31:14

more. You see a couple of

31:16

names, you see Stukrid,

31:20

Maldri, Venuk, and above

31:22

all of them, with a crown over

31:24

it, you see the name Ansgar, which

31:28

seems to denote

31:30

some sort of pecking order among

31:33

this clan of this like

31:36

almost like post apocalyptic dudes. You

31:39

can tell it just by the context of

31:41

this map, like certain things like some kind

31:43

of childish

31:46

writing in the margins, like this person

31:48

does not like the first

31:50

several names. It seems

31:53

like they're their competition. And

31:57

yeah, I think that's why you would get on

31:59

the papers themselves. But then

32:01

there's this other artifact that I will say that

32:03

the NAT-20 also applies to. It's

32:08

just like, I think I said it looks like

32:10

a lightsaber last time, although it

32:12

is not like a literal laser

32:14

sword or anything. But

32:16

from investigating it, it looks like there

32:18

are, it seems like reactive to different

32:21

things like it's that it is nearby.

32:23

It is like an extremely futuristic looking

32:25

technology. Especially for

32:28

you guys who have seen maybe a

32:30

blunderbuss and stuff like that. It's

32:33

very like going from steampunk to

32:35

alien looking technology. I

32:37

think on a NAT-20 you would know that this is

32:39

some kind of futuristic

32:42

survival multi-tool. I

32:45

think that it seems like that. And so

32:47

yeah, make an intel, I think on a

32:49

NAT-20 I'll just say that this

32:52

thing is very situational

32:55

and you have to make intelligence checks

32:58

in order to use it in situations. So

33:00

it seems like, but it does seem like

33:03

you have sort of a handling on it. If

33:06

not an understanding of what to do

33:08

with it right now. So

33:10

I think that's everything that you would find from those

33:12

papers and that artifact at this moment. And

33:15

the name was Angar? The

33:17

crown? Ansgar. Ansgar.

33:21

So yeah, I

33:23

think that's nice

33:25

roles. I can't tell you

33:27

why, Jens, but I just inherently

33:30

understand that that's what this all is.

33:33

Any feelings on it? Well, I just want to

33:35

go on record and say I understood some of

33:37

that as well. Oh

33:40

yeah, and you had a dirty 20? Yeah.

33:43

Yeah, I wasn't. So you got like some of it. I've

33:45

just been taking my staff and

33:47

turning it into a tree and then turning it

33:49

back into a tree. Yes,

33:54

we should say, Jacob, let's

33:56

talk about your staff for a second. Okay. We

33:59

talked about on the Arkbark, it seems

34:01

like it is the staff of the

34:04

Woodland. But in our discussion,

34:06

I did honestly realize it's a little more powerful

34:08

than I was hoping it would be. And

34:11

so, to that end,

34:13

we've done a little bit of zhuzhing, which

34:15

we've agreed upon. There's a zhuzhing. You see

34:17

that some of the branches are a little

34:19

gnarled and kind of burnt off in a

34:21

way. Basically,

34:24

the staff cannot do a

34:26

wake-in like it normally would be able to or

34:28

wall of thorns. But it has some other abilities

34:30

if you want to say what those are now.

34:32

Oh yeah, I mean it's super cool. I can

34:34

cast pass. It has 10 charges. They re-charge

34:39

every day at dawn. Wow.

34:41

Gives me a nice plus two to bonus attacks,

34:43

plus two to spell attack rolls. And has a

34:45

bunch of great little spells.

34:48

Animal friendship, bark skin, locate

34:50

animals or plants. It has

34:52

a free pass without trace spell. Speak

34:55

with animals, speak with plants, wall

34:57

of thorns, which we said no go to. And awaken, which we

34:59

said no go to. And

35:02

it also has this thing called tree form. You can

35:04

use an action to plant one end of the staff

35:06

and fertile earth and expend one charge to transform the

35:08

staff into a healthy tree. The tree is

35:10

super tall. And it's like a big tree. Yeah,

35:12

the tree is 60 feet tall, five foot diameter

35:14

trunk, and its branches at the top spread out

35:17

to a 20 foot radius. Damn.

35:19

Wow. That's a huge tree. You're just making

35:21

this giant tree. Yeah, are you burning through

35:23

charges? I guess I didn't really, I thought

35:26

the tree transformation was charge free. So instead

35:29

of using it on and

35:31

off. We'll say that. Yeah.

35:34

You were imagining it, right? Yeah. Well, just say like, I,

35:37

as we take off, I touch a big tree and it

35:39

turns into a staff. I

35:41

changed it last night and it's dawn. So it has fresh

35:44

charges. Wow. I

35:46

got it. It's not

35:48

a, not a boo boo. Well,

35:51

okay. So you guys are ready to take

35:53

off. You approached. I'm sorry. I immediately

35:56

forgotten this creature's. Gongo. Buzz.

36:00

Gongo Baws. Gongo Baws

36:02

Lerman. Gongo Baws Lerman. So

36:04

you guys are gonna take off into the

36:07

Great Gatsby. So

36:10

yeah, so you all pile on to the Griffin? Mm-hmm.

36:14

I'm sorry about my armor. Gongo

36:16

Baws. You guys... It

36:20

doesn't...it seems like not to care. Oh great! It

36:22

just like wants to fly. When

36:24

Gongo... the noise that Gongo Baws

36:26

makes, it doesn't happen to just sound like him

36:29

going like, Gongo Baws. Does it? Yeah,

36:31

does it happen to sound like that? Yeah,

36:35

you know what, Jacob, give me

36:37

a lap check. Sure, yeah. We'll

36:39

say over 10 it does. Okay.

36:46

A two... It goes... Baws

36:53

Gongo. Okay, okay.

36:56

We're having fun. Yeah. It's...Grib,

36:59

it seems like this character's

37:01

name... this creature's name is

37:03

Baws Gongo, not Gongo Baws.

37:05

Baws Gongo? Half-Thigh translated incorrectly.

37:08

I see. Baws Gongo? You

37:11

see this thing kick

37:13

off the ground and splat

37:15

its wings with an incredible

37:17

strength that, you know, you've

37:20

never seen anything like it in this situation and

37:22

you've never been this far up in

37:24

the air and you see the forest

37:26

below you start shrinking as you get

37:28

higher and higher over the outpost, over

37:30

the forest itself, and then almost at

37:32

height with the mountains. You

37:35

have that like kind of perspective warping moment

37:39

where like, you know, when you get like hop on

37:41

a plane and it

37:43

looks like the trees are really tiny but it

37:45

also feels like you can touch it like, you

37:47

know, like that almost like the Peter Pan ride

37:49

at Disney where it's like everything is just super

37:51

small near you. Love that one. So you

37:53

get whipped by this wind and you are

37:55

up in the air. This

37:57

is tremendous. I know... We're

38:01

doing a grave thing right now, but in

38:03

this moment, I feel wonderful. In

38:05

this moment, I feel... And

38:08

Rufus throws up over the

38:11

side of Baskango. Yeah,

38:14

Rufus, you throw up. It's almost

38:16

like you can't tell if this

38:19

is a part of your lycanthropic

38:21

transformation that is like your, you

38:23

know, like post-vaccine haze almost, or

38:25

just being 300 feet in the

38:28

air. Oh boy. Ah,

38:31

God. I'm gonna close my eyes. How's

38:33

Rib doing? Rib's quietly taking it in, and it's

38:35

one of the more beautiful things he's seen, and

38:37

he's like thinking about how he's not alone, because

38:39

he's with friends, and he's fighting back a tear,

38:41

and he's looking the other way, so nobody can

38:43

see that his eyes are rolling up. And

38:46

Freya's kind of situated behind

38:48

Rib, and in a moment

38:50

of just sort of like

38:52

overwhelming feeling

38:55

of aliveness, she kind of wraps

38:57

her arms around his waist and

38:59

lightly wraps her head on his

39:02

huge back. And

39:04

Rufus fuses again,

39:06

and he... But

39:10

as he does that thing where, you know,

39:12

when you're like violently throwing up and your

39:14

whole face is kind of like strained, you

39:16

know, every muscle in your face is like

39:18

tight. When he hits that point

39:20

of the retch, he feels

39:23

as if for just a...

39:25

Just a fraction of a second, a

39:27

bear is growling. He feels like new,

39:29

tense muscles stretching to

39:32

his face. He can't be sure if he experienced

39:34

that for real. Rufus,

39:36

you feel two little arms on your

39:39

back holding you in a similar way

39:41

to... And

39:43

Cribbage sounds like, this is so beautiful,

39:45

man. Yeah, yeah, sure.

39:48

Yeah. Okay. We're

39:50

so high up, everything's tiny. Is this what it looks like when

39:53

I'm walking near you? I don't know, Cribbage. I

39:55

don't know. Okay.

40:01

So you guys start flying just

40:04

directly north of where you were towards

40:07

these mountains. You can also see in the distance

40:10

across the forest the peaks of some

40:13

buildings like really far in the distance

40:16

that you could assume to be the edges of

40:19

Malgos, that city that you were talking about.

40:22

But as you get closer you

40:25

begin to see the mountain path that

40:27

your family and the forces of Fort

40:30

Cutlers must have taken. As

40:32

you're looking along the trail you see

40:34

clear signs of what happened here.

40:38

There are signs of fighting back, there's

40:40

like blown out bits of trail. These

40:43

guys are like the better soldiers

40:45

at Fort Cutlers so they clearly,

40:47

while I'm sure overwhelmed in this

40:49

situation, were not just like dying.

40:52

So you see all these makeshift blockades and you see

40:54

a few parts of the trail

40:56

that almost look like you're really

40:59

high up but it would maybe assume that there's some kind

41:01

of last stands happening

41:03

here where maybe some troops stop

41:05

here to let the bulk of the troops proceed

41:08

without them. And as you

41:11

get closer you see this swarm

41:13

of bugs heading along this trail,

41:16

edging closer and closer to Walnut

41:19

Creek. Let's light them up

41:21

huh? Those bugs,

41:23

those bastards, they've killed

41:25

my brethren on this trail! Freya,

41:28

you're I guess in front of Rufus right?

41:31

Yeah. It just feels like, you

41:33

almost feel like a fever behind you. Rufus

41:37

you are warm. Warm

41:39

with rage. Give me one of those

41:41

carrot juices. Don't drink them.

41:43

Yeah along the trail, you can pass these around. I'll

41:46

explain the mechanics of that in a second but along

41:48

the trail you see these horrifying bugs leading up

41:51

to the Walnut Creek. You also

41:53

see what signs of where ways of

41:55

them have been killed by the keep.

41:57

So you see Walnut Creek at the

41:59

end. end of this mountain pass that you've heard

42:01

so much about. It is the path

42:04

narrows going closer into the castle. The

42:06

castle looks like kind of like a

42:09

traditional looking like four big turrets

42:11

of a castle like two at the front

42:13

closer to the side facing the

42:15

trail and two kind of facing out just

42:17

towards the forest itself with sort of a

42:20

like almost like a nice big patio but

42:22

made of stone. There's sort of

42:24

a central gated area

42:26

where it looks like they

42:28

would maybe keep horses and stuff

42:31

and then below that it's like kind of masonry

42:33

going down seemingly like a

42:35

lower level to the to the castle

42:38

itself before it turns into the mountain.

42:40

So from above when you're

42:42

looking at long keep you see what looks

42:44

like this bulk of the force of soldiers

42:46

that are surviving it seems like without getting

42:48

an exact number it doesn't look as big

42:50

as you were hoping. You

42:53

know it doesn't seem like they've all lived.

42:55

They are mostly on this gate

42:58

firing arrows down at where the

43:01

bulk of these bugs are pouring

43:03

in kind of being bottlenecked along

43:06

this trail. It's like a Helm's

43:08

Deep sort of looking thing? It's

43:10

a little Helm's Deepish but a

43:12

little narrower at least but you

43:14

are above these bugs and looking

43:16

down at them I'll tell you

43:18

how this will work for this

43:20

this little encounter. You

43:23

can roll a d4 the winds

43:25

are kind of buffeting you and

43:27

roll a d4 to see what the wind conditions

43:29

are and then you have to roll that's

43:32

on every roll and then you

43:35

would roll a d20 and you have to get over

43:37

a 15 to hit these bugs.

43:40

You have a plus six of the roll so that means

43:42

you have to get over a nine

43:45

to hit them. You can do whatever buffs

43:47

you need but roll

43:49

a d4 first and number a one

43:51

I'll just say what they are when you roll

43:53

it but a one is... How high

43:55

up are we? You're a few...

43:57

I would say you're probably... 100

44:00

feet above these bugs and so you

44:02

could be a little closer if you want But you don't

44:04

want to get too close because they will spit acid on

44:07

you. Huh? And I

44:09

and I don't think that's necessarily gonna affect this

44:12

the luck of this role I guess unless

44:14

you have a certain smell you're using Yeah,

44:16

this is not a situation where I could

44:18

take one of these vials notch it in

44:20

my bow and shoot it What's

44:23

your plus to roll it to hit? I mean,

44:25

it's like kind of a heavy they're almost like

44:27

propane tanks I see Can

44:30

I can I pitch an idea that I have in

44:32

you? Let me know if it's good or bad Yeah,

44:34

yeah, for sure. I would love to try can we?

44:37

Potentially up are like DC

44:39

or something if I were to use gust of wind

44:43

Which is 60 feet? So

44:45

I don't know if we could get close enough if

44:47

60 feet too close Maybe it's

44:50

just like, you know, not a sure

44:52

thing but like bridges the gap Say

44:56

Jacob I'll say that if depending on who

44:58

is throwing what when you're not throwing you

45:00

can use the gust of wind on things

45:02

that are Disadvantaged to commit to cancel out

45:05

the disadvantage cool. That sounds cool. So

45:07

you guys have I think I said five Let

45:10

me know how you who's throwing what

45:13

Rufus looks down and sees these Soldiers

45:16

fighting in the keep and he's overcome with

45:19

emotion seeing finally laying

45:21

his eyes on this struggle And

45:24

he said give me one of

45:27

those goddamn files I

45:29

I hand it over to Rufus and give him a

45:31

little bit of a look of like even

45:33

though it's tough to see we made

45:35

it brother, mmm and and Rufus nods

45:37

back with a kind of like

45:40

a It's a male

45:42

Gibson II look when he's kind of

45:44

overcome with emotion wet eyes, you

45:46

know, but it's but a firm jaw

45:49

Yeah, the brow and the jaw Rufus

45:52

the heat off of you is uncomfortable Well

45:55

the heat off of these bugs is about

45:58

to get off the charts. Yes Drop

46:00

it. And

46:02

then I roll a d4 and let me

46:05

know what you got. Okay, let's find out.

46:08

Can I cast guidance on this or is it going to blow it? Yeah,

46:10

yeah. Or not on the d4

46:13

but you can cast it on the roll. I

46:15

would say you can do guidance or gust. I'll do gust. D4,

46:17

I got a 3. 3

46:22

is no win, meaning a straight roll. You don't

46:24

have to, you don't have a disadvantage right now.

46:28

And so you have gust, is that what you said? I

46:30

have gust and I have guidance. Are you saying if I throw

46:32

one, is that what you mean? Yeah,

46:34

you can throw a guidance on this since

46:37

there's no disadvantage. Yeah, I'll throw guidance on

46:39

it so I don't waste the spell

46:41

slot. Cool. 10

46:44

plus 6 is 16. Oh yeah.

46:48

So Rufus, you say it's about to

46:50

get hot and you throw this vial.

46:53

It spins, it's like one

46:55

of those circular vials with

46:57

a little tube top so

46:59

the liquid swishes

47:03

around as it spins into the pile of bugs.

47:05

And once it hits the ground, you see this

47:08

huge fiery explosion blast these

47:10

bugs into the air. Dozens

47:13

of bugs fly through the air. Pieces

47:15

of arms and legs of these little

47:18

disgusting creatures fly through

47:21

the air. You see

47:24

the soldiers who are on the

47:26

wall of the keep look up

47:29

and go, what the fuck is

47:31

that? They cannot tell what's

47:33

happening. If you can't take the heat, get out

47:35

of my forest. Incredible.

47:39

Rufus, give me just a flat

47:41

charisma check. Also, did I

47:44

need to do the D4? With advantage. I didn't do

47:46

the D4. You didn't need it. So

47:48

now I'm rolling a charisma check, my

47:51

weakest step. Hey, throw that D4

47:53

behind that. Yeah. Okay.

47:56

I got an 8 of

47:58

the charisma roll. and then

48:00

a one on the D4. They're

48:03

like, you see these soldiers look up

48:05

at you, and they're like,

48:07

what? Never

48:09

mind! Who is that?

48:12

They've like been awake for days running. So

48:15

they look fucked up, they're like delirious, like,

48:17

father? And I kind of, at

48:19

this point I kind of turn to my companions

48:21

and I go, I have to tell you, I'm

48:23

feeling a little conflicted. I'm concerned I may have

48:25

started a forest fire. Oh! I

48:31

will say, you guys are looking at

48:33

this path, and it does not seem

48:35

like there are trees nearby. I'm

48:38

concerned that if anyone

48:40

keeps an eye out, if we see any

48:42

brush or tree catch fire, let's keep an

48:44

eye out. I'm impressed to hear you think

48:46

this is so serious, though. Well,

48:49

I and only I can prevent forest fires. Yes,

48:52

that's right. I always prepare to

48:55

stop forest fires. Did you hear that? Did you guys

48:57

all hear that? I didn't.

48:59

Oh, okay, it was an auditory. Who's throwing

49:02

the next vial? I will. Freya

49:05

will. So

49:07

she gets the vial and says,

49:11

I know none of these soldiers will remember me, and

49:13

I am like a stranger to them. But

49:15

I hope to be of some help, and

49:18

I hate to see these bugs

49:20

again. Incredible. You

49:22

can go to D4 and let me know what you get. A

49:25

two. Excessive one. Make a dex

49:27

check to hang on. So give

49:29

me your dexterity saving throw. Seventeen.

49:34

Okay, you're able to hang on.

49:36

You bobble the vial. With

49:39

the 17 tight enough that you just maintain that, roll

49:42

a D4 again to see what you get, and

49:44

then that sort of just starts you over. Oh.

49:49

A one. It's a crosswind. So you

49:51

have a disadvantage on this roll. Jacob,

49:53

you can use your spell if you would. I'll use gustagmant

49:55

wind. Okay, cool. So

49:58

that disadvantage is canceled out. out and

50:01

just give a straight d20. 60. Another bomb sails

50:04

from the griffin and smacks

50:06

into this

50:08

crowd of bugs blowing them up.

50:11

Buzz pieces flying everywhere and

50:13

direct it. Oh yay! Yeah,

50:16

I mean does Freya yell anything to these

50:18

soldiers? I'll

50:22

introduce myself later! Freya! It's Freya! Freya!

50:25

It's Freya! Hell yeah, they

50:28

know you! Freya sort of gives a strangled gasp

50:30

and sheds it

50:38

here. Incredible,

50:40

so that's two hits. The more

50:42

hits you get, the easier this next part will

50:45

be. I will drop next, right? I'll

50:48

try and drop next. As I hold

50:50

this, I look to my friends.

50:52

This isn't going to make a lot of

50:54

sense, but it's like we're

50:57

sailing in the stars and we're saving

50:59

the day we're a bunch of starship

51:01

froupas and I drop the bomb on

51:03

the bugs. Amazing. Grib,

51:06

roll the d4. Ooh, a 1. It's

51:08

a crosswind so you have disadvantage on

51:14

this roll. I'll use a gust. Cool.

51:17

Burn that slot. Burned it. Can't slow

51:19

off the disadvantage. Then I roll a

51:21

d20, right? Yes. A

51:23

1. No. So you bobble this

51:25

thing as you throw it and it

51:28

flips out of your hand. You

51:32

see it sail past them and just

51:34

explode behind the mountain, not

51:38

hitting anything at all. You see

51:40

what appears to be maybe the beginnings of a

51:43

forest fire? Grib,

51:45

this isn't going to make a lot of

51:47

sense, but today you have failed to do

51:50

the Federation. I just shake

51:52

my head in shame. Hey,

52:01

hey man, it's okay man. From

52:04

the very back of the Griffith, hanging onto

52:06

the tail, you see Cribbage flopping around in the

52:08

air. So right, Dang, should we

52:10

give Cribbage a try? I'll throw one.

52:13

You want Cribbage to throw one? I guess. We

52:15

have two left. Go

52:18

for it. Freya sort of like

52:20

puts her hand on Crib's back and gives

52:22

it a little encouraging rub. Cribbage

52:25

rolled a four, which is a breeze that blows

52:27

towards the bugs and will guide your throw. So

52:30

he has an advantage. Come on, Crib. Let's see

52:32

what he gets. 18 and a

52:34

19. Oh!

52:37

So, money. Cribbage

52:39

just hits one of these guys

52:41

in the forehead who blows back and

52:44

just like explodes this third section

52:46

of bugs as they pour

52:48

over their brethren continuing on. And then sending

52:51

out this herd in a very kind

52:53

of strategic place that feels like will

52:55

hopefully help you guys get closer to

52:57

the castle in a safer way and

52:59

help the soldiers out tremendously. So we

53:02

have one more. Who's throwing the last

53:04

one? Rufus, Pat's, Cribbage on the back,

53:06

and says, Cribbage, I always believed

53:08

in you. Wow. Is

53:11

your face leaking? Don't

53:14

know. I'll throw it. Let

53:20

the winds guide this explosive

53:24

as it blows these demons straight down.

53:27

Incredible. Roll the d4. I

53:29

will. That's a two.

53:31

Two is excessive wind. Make a dex check

53:34

to hang on. So Rufus, you are like

53:36

trying to balance with this bauble as the

53:38

wind just smacks you. Roll a

53:40

dexterity saving throw and you're saving throw. Ooh,

53:45

ten. Ten. Rufus,

53:47

you start to fall off. Somebody,

53:51

whoever is close by can

53:53

make an athletics check to

53:55

grab. Yeah, I'm going to

53:58

just say make an athletics check or just. Another

54:00

check that makes sense to you try to grab

54:02

for athletics. I rolled a 15. Okay, you're

54:04

able to snack rufus's arm

54:07

you feel your arm like rinse as he Falls

54:10

off this Griffin and you're holding on to grip

54:12

you know you have to hold on to grip

54:14

tighter with your other arm Rufus

54:17

you're just flailing in the my

54:19

shoulder Rufus

54:21

your hand is I

54:25

run hot You're

54:27

on to you got your hands burned

54:29

last episode to What

54:32

happens to the mile I'm holding I Make

54:35

a deck check to see if you held on to my gosh another

54:39

dexterity saving throw a dexterity

54:42

make a Dexterity flat. Okay already check

54:44

or if you can do an acrobatics or athletics check

54:46

again. No, I did the decks I got an 18

54:50

Great. So you you hold on to like the tip of

54:52

it like the top of The

54:55

cork is like almost I'm holding on to

54:58

the cork which is itself like light starting

55:00

to release the cork but I'm Hitching

55:03

it Freya. I will say with that 15

55:05

you're able to Pull

55:07

rufus back up onto this Griffin.

55:09

I'm sorry I've what the

55:11

fuck is this name? Gungo? Gungo

55:14

boss, but I've been

55:16

popularized to boss Congo Gonzo boss,

55:19

I'm gone Boss

55:22

Congo Weary head

55:24

fake for Jacob just like

55:27

a humorless. No, that is

55:29

not Don't

55:31

bend my words. No No,

55:35

we can all riff on it, it's fine we all get that All

55:41

right Rufus you still have

55:43

it. Are you gonna throw it? Are you

55:45

are you can I will say that you've

55:47

been pulled back up I've got you my

55:49

guy. Yeah, I'm gonna use the raw adrenaline

55:52

Rufus is not someone who would take the

55:54

hint that hey, maybe sit this one out

55:56

Rufus is gonna just charge

55:58

forward Just hurl this

56:01

sucker with everything he's got incredible roll

56:03

the d4 again Back

56:05

at the drawing board. That's a four Four

56:08

you get the advantage on this one as

56:10

the breeze shifts and points towards these bugs

56:12

roll with advantage How do I roll with

56:14

advantage here? I roll to d20 since I

56:17

got it. I always forget. Oh They

56:20

were both fives But

56:23

plus six doesn't that make it 11 I

56:25

can put guidance on it That's

56:27

11 so with the guidance you

56:29

could technically do it if you roll to four

56:32

So let me know what you get d4

56:34

roll to You

56:38

see the vial sale pass this whole

56:40

crowd and just Shatter

56:42

into the mountain behind it

56:45

catching that mountain on fire. It's just done,

56:47

but you see this burning rock behind it

56:50

Kind of highlighting these monsters in a

56:52

cool way, but yes completely missing them

56:54

So you had three successes. That's pretty

56:57

good. You've successfully thinned the herd

56:59

out towards the front It

57:01

seems like you would have to at this point

57:03

go down there to help these guys We

57:09

hope that you enjoyed that episode of

57:11

57:13
