Guest Biography: 

Bonnie S. Michelman has over twenty years of security management experience in diverse industries. She is currently the Director of Police, Security and Outside Services at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts, a 15,000 employee world renowned Harvard Teaching Institution. She was formally District Manager at First Security Services, Boston, Massachusetts, Assistant Vice President for General Services at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Newton, Massachusetts and in Corporate Security Management at Data General Corporation, Westborough, Massachusetts.

She is a former President of the American Society for Industrial Security International (ASIS), a 33,000 member professional security organization. She is a past President of the Board of Directors for the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS). Bonnie is currently an Instructor at Northeastern University College of Criminal Justice.

Bonnie is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and a Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA). Bonnie has an MBA from Bentley College, an MS in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University and a BA in Government and Sociology from Clark University. She lectures and consults internationally and has over 50 publications in various journals on safety, security and management. She is a Certified Instructor of “Management of Aggressive Behavior” (MOAB®) and does significant work in the areas of workplace violence, hate crimes, domestic violence, cultural diversity, and risk assessment.
