Thanks for joining me today for the third in a weekly series of podcasts.

0:13

Today's episode is entitled where Satoshi Nakamoto lived when he created Bitcoin an episode number one of the solving Bitcoin's biggest mystery podcast,

0:24

I focused on the malicious way Australian computer scientist and long term Satoshi wannabe craig wright tried to intimidate me immediately after my book.

0:33

Finding Satoshi was published. It's obvious that right whose Bitcoins version of cereal?

0:39

Falsified jorge santos couldn't handle the truth.

0:43

In a book I wrote in a decade of amateur speculation and unfounded opinion in recent US and UK legal cases involving right,

0:52

three different judges have issued written opinions focusing on rights,

0:56

lack of credibility among other facts.

1:00

Those who listened to episode number two learned that Hal Finney lived in the same temple city California neighborhood as Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto,

1:10

who newsweek falsely claimed to be Bitcoin's creator in a 2014 cover story,

1:16

the complete story of Phineas role in the origin of the Nakamoto surname used by Bitcoin's creator can be found in chapter eight of Finding Satoshi In today's episode represents several pieces of evidence that proved beyond a reasonable doubt where Satoshi Nakamoto lived from 2008 to 2011 when he created Bitcoin and here's a fun fact he immigrated to that country of residents from his native Pakistan a few years before.

1:47

If you're ready to join me on this unique podcast adventure,

1:51

get comfortable turn up the volume and consider this simple two part challenge based on my experience as a longtime professional journalist when it comes to the identity of Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto Either accept the long awaited truth and forego the 20 evils of amateur speculation and unfounded opinion or prove me wrong.

2:16

I had my first clue as to Satoshi Nakamoto possible country of residence in May 2019.

2:25

That's when his anonymous online proxy named cece Rees was persistent for weeks that I enter a contractual agreement to represent an alleged Satoshi in a project.

2:37

They posted a blind online ad for that.

2:41

I responded to All my communications with Cicero's in May and June 2019.

2:47

We're on skype text. I kept a record of all those conversations.

2:52

I told cece Rhys I needed hard evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that the person he referred to as S.

3:00

N. Was truly Satoshi Nakamoto.

3:04

Since I don't make a habit of dealing with anonymous clients trusting my instinct as a career journalist,

3:11

I left the door open with a take it or leave it offer as a goodwill gesture.

3:17

I will agree to travel anywhere in the world at my expense to meet you and the person you have identified as Satoshi Nakamoto.

3:25

If I'm given ironclad proof of identity.

3:28

I told him A meeting was planned for Amsterdam in July 2019.

3:33

Did that mean Satoshi lived in the Netherlands.

3:37

If so, I was pumped because I had visited Amsterdam on vacation a few months earlier and thoroughly enjoyed it.

3:44

Early in our text communications,

3:46

I had asked sis rests about sns background he is british.

3:51

he told me sis rest statement confused me how Finney had gone on record of saying he thought Satoshi was of japanese ancestry and sisters had scheduled a meeting with the alleged Satoshi in Amsterdam but Satoshi is plans changed.

4:10

Cece Reyes asked me if I was willing to travel to Manchester,

4:13

England instead. I reminded sis wrist,

4:16

I told him I'd travel anywhere in the world at my expense and booked a round trip flight on thomas Cook Airlines,

4:23

headquartered in Manchester. Two months before the airline filed for bankruptcy.

4:29

I packed lightly since I only planned to stay in Manchester overnight at the time I was far from certain I'd meet Satoshi Nakamoto or anyone else for that matter.

4:39

The level of secrecy I'd come to expect from cis res made me feel like a character in a john le Carre spy novel.

4:46

I met Satoshi for the first time when he kept our scheduled meeting apartment in a Manchester hotel lobby on july 5th 2019.

4:55

It would be my first of three trips to England.

4:58

I returned to Manchester weeks later with my office colleagues,

5:02

Michael jones and steve Gillon. We spent days gathering more information when I made an innocent remark,

5:08

I wish ito she still had the laptops.

5:10

He used to mine, his bitcoins never want to volunteer information,

5:15

but always want to carefully and consistently answer questions,

5:20

Satoshi floored all three of us. When he said,

5:23

I still have both laptops,

5:25

I can bring them from home tomorrow. I should have asked Satoshi earlier what he did with those laptops but thought he surely would have trashed them long ago If they did still exist in 2019.

5:37

Those laptops would be a collector's dream come true.

5:41

The whole story in seven photos of his fujitsu and Acer laptops complete with model and serial numbers can be found in chapter 14.

5:50

In my book Finding Satoshi In September 2019,

5:55

Steve Gillan and I visited Satoshi and his wife at their two story town home in Doncaster.

5:59

England. I learned thomas.

6:02

Cook Airlines was on the verge of bankruptcy after I bought the tickets for Stephen me so we decided to change our flights to another airline before making the trip.

6:12

Once I learned Satoshi is home address.

6:14

I researched UK property tax records that confirmed he purchased that town home under his legal name at about the same time,

6:22

he married his wife on october 31st 2010,

6:26

Satoshi is marriage was a contributing factor in his decision to leave Bitcoin.

6:31

14 months after steve and I traveled to Doncaster,

6:34

a europe based Blockchain media outlet,

6:37

created a stir in the crypto sphere.

6:40

In november 2020 the chain bulletin and english language Blockchain publication based in Bulgaria presented extensive and exclusive independent research by software engineer Don Co Cara Ivanov that strongly suggested Satoshi lived in the UK when he created Bitcoin.

7:00

The chain bulletins stated editorial mission is to cover breaking news,

7:05

analyze and research the crypto industry right definitive guides and provide expert opinion.

7:13

Their story was widely picked up by other media outlets carry.

7:16

Ivanov reviewed 742 examples from Satoshi is Bitcoin talk post's source forge commits and emails on 206 days between october 31st 2008 when he first announced Bitcoin on the cryptography mailing list in december 13th 2010 when Satoshi sent his last email known to b U.

7:42

T. C. S. Time stamped, the chain bulletins findings eliminated japan and rights native Australia from consideration and narrowed Nakamoto is likely location to the U.

7:53

K. And major U. S. Coastlines.

7:56

The publication concluded that Satoshi either lived in London or its vicinity.

8:01

It based its findings on three factors.

8:04

Timestamps of electronic communications.

8:07

Satoshi is use of british english words and spellings In the January 3,

8:13

2009 headline on the front page of the times of London that Satoshi encrypted in Bitcoin's genesis plot.

8:22

It's important to note that my lengthy career as a newspaper reporter makes me review potential evidence of any kind objectively yet suspiciously.

8:32

After carefully reviewing the chain bulletin report,

8:35

I ruled out the first two factors they applied despite the fact I had met Satoshi in England three times in 2019.

8:43

1st, I maintained that all timestamp evidence of any kind in every case is inadmissible because time stamps are easily falsified or manipulated.

8:55

Carrie Ivanov's meticulous work on Satoshi is activity patterns was impressive,

8:59

but timestamp evidence falls into the category of how you can do anything with numbers.

9:04

It's true that Satoshi used british english words and spellings,

9:08

but he could have lived anywhere and done that as a legacy from his earlier life.

9:13

There's a great deal of exclusive evidence in my book.

9:16

Finding Satoshi that shows Satoshi didn't only use british english words and spellings when he was working on Bitcoin.

9:23

He used them frequently when communicating with me.

9:26

I've kept all records which cite numerous examples That leaves the infamous January 3,

9:34

2009 edition of the times of London as the determining factor of where Satoshi lived.

9:40

And it's not just as simple as saying whatever newspaper Satoshi used to encrypt the headline in the Genesis Block means he must have lived there far from it.

9:50

I've read that only eight original copies of that January 3,

9:55

2009 edition are still in existence. The recent going price for one copy was $1 million.

10:01

While it's impossible for anyone to predict the future price of Bitcoin.

10:05

I suspect each of the eight copies will increase in percentage value far more quickly than Bitcoin.

10:11

Once, common sense kicked in and the truth of Satoshi is location from 2008,

10:17

is accepted beyond a reasonable doubt.

10:20

My professional career taught me how newspapers often change headlines between editions and vary them depending on their target circulation areas.

10:28

So I knew Keira Ivanov had uncovered,

10:31

incontrovertible evidence carry.

10:33

Ivanov said Satoshi is use of the specific headline he encrypted in the genesis block logically eliminated his possibility of having lived in the US since newspapers target local or regional readership and on occasion national readership such as England,

10:51

It's all but certain the times as us and UK editions had different headlines and different front page stories.

10:58

Although Carrie Ivanov couldn't find a copy or screenshot of the times as January 3,

11:05

2009, limited circulation international edition to validate his theory.

11:11

He also found that the headline on the Times website,

11:14

Chancellor Alistair darling on brink of second bailout for banks was different from what the Times ran in its UK print editions that made it impossible for Satoshi to have read the article on the Times website and not in the print edition,

11:30

even in the million to one chance,

11:32

he did read the headline online.

11:34

It stands to reason he would have included that exact headline in the genesis block instead of the headline from the front page of the UK print edition.

11:43

Cara Ivanov's work confirmed something Satoshi had told me 16 months before the chain bulletin study was released when Satoshi and I met for the first time in Manchester in july 2019.

11:56

He told me, quote on january 3rd 2009,

12:00

I looked at the Times newspaper and saw the headline that I hinted in the genesis block code,

12:06

unquote carry Ivanov presented a detailed comparison of the different headlines,

12:11

the Times used depending on the location of its print edition and its website.

12:16

He also cited data from the 2008 national readership survey that showed that 57% of the base readership of the Times UK edition was outside London since the newspaper is a national daily,

12:29

not a regional one, 6% of its U.

12:32

K. Print readership was in the Yorkshire region where Satoshi lives in Doncaster.

12:37

You can find more to the story in chapter 15 of my book Finding Satoshi the real story behind mysterious Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto in upcoming episodes.

12:47

I'll take you through my journey on how I was able to determine the identity of Satoshi beyond a reasonable doubt.

12:53

New episodes are published Tuesday mornings,

12:56

just in time for your cup of coffee or morning commute.

12:58

These podcasts serve as complementary information to the weighty,

13:02

Truthful evidence in my book Finding Satoshi available in amazon.

13:07

The next episode will answer the best question of the many I've received from those who have read the book or listened to the audiobook.

13:14

This question was submitted by a man living in England who described himself as an aspiring educator,

13:21

an informer of Cryptocurrency and Cryptocurrency News quote.

13:26

I know it's the collective evidence that suggests the person you named in the book is the real Satoshi Nakamoto he wrote,

13:32

but if you had to pick one piece of evidence out of all the evidence you collected over three years that convinced you the most,

13:39

that that individual was the real Satoshi Nakamoto.

13:42

What would it be? The answer is a surprising one.

13:46

Don't miss the next episode,

13:48

entitled The most important clue.

13:51

This is ivy McLemore. I hope you've enjoyed today's podcast.
