Robert Olen Butler is a fiction writer, primarily of magic realism, and a voice actor. He is also a Professor of Creative Writing at Florida State University.Butler's stories have appeared The New Yorker, Esquire, Harper's, The Atlantic Monthly, GQ, Zoetrope, The Paris Review, Granta, The Hudson Review, The Virginia Quarterly Review, Ploughshares, and The Sewanee Review. They have been collected in four editions of The Best American Short Stories, eight editions of New Stories from the South, other anthologies, and college literature textbooks. His short-story collection "A Good Scent from a Strange Mountain" was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1993. He has published sixteen novels.
