Hello! I was excited to interview Dr. Danai Fannin recently-- she discusses her research on the medical care of neurodivergent individuals, how racial and cultural backgrounds can impact a patient's comfort in asking questions during an appointment, and how these results might be extended to create more accessible school IEP processes.

She also discusses social skills, and how to take a nuanced approach (i.e. helping autistic children understand the communication of neurotypical individuals without pushing for normalization; and also protecting autistic children from bullying or people simply pretending to be friends.)
