In this episode, the BookDude shares his advice for submitting your manuscript to a publisher or an agent.

Many publishers do not accept unsolicited submissions and insist that submissions must come through agents.

Agents are perhaps a better option for getting published. If an agent agrees to represent your work and submit it to publishers, they have the potential to submit it to a wide range of publishers with who they have relationships and credibility.

They may also have other channels such as movie production houses to whom they can submit your manuscript.

Please note that submitting your work to publishers and agents is a lengthy process. Do not be disheartened and do not give up. Also do not give up your day job until you succeed as an author. It could take a long time.

If you decide that you no longer wish to try the traditional publishing route you can try self-publishing but then you need to do everything yourself. It might be worth it so don't ever discard self-publishing as an option.
