Priscilla Denise Levertov was a poet. From 1982 to 1993, She taught at Stanford University. During World War II, Levertov was a civilian nurse in London throughout the bombings. She wrote her first book, "The Double Image," while she was between the ages of seventeen and twenty-one. It was published in 1946 and brought her recognition as one of a group of poets dubbed the "New Romantics."After the war, Levertov moved to New York and continued to write poetry. Her first American book, "Here and Now," was published in 1956. She went on to publish more than twenty volumes of poetry, including "The Freeing of the Dust" (1975), which won the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize. She also wrote four books of prose and translated of three volumes of poetry.Levertov spent the last decade of her life in Seattle. She died in 1997.

Wallace Stevens (October 2, 1879 – August 2, 1955) was a modernist poet. He was educated at Harvard and then New York Law School, and spent most of his life working as an executive for an insurance company in Hartford, Connecticut. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry for his Collected Poems in 1955.Stevens's best-known poems include "The Auroras of Autumn", "Anecdote of the Jar", "Disillusionment of Ten O'Clock", "The Emperor of Ice-Cream", "The Idea of Order at Key West", "Sunday Morning", "The Snow Man", and "Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird".

Louise Glück is a poet and essayist. She won the 2020 Nobel Prize in Literature. From 2003 to 2004, she was Poet Laureate of the United States. She is a Professor in the Practice of Poetry at Yale University.Glück's first collection, "Firstborn," was published in 1968. She has published 12 books of poetry, edited collections, and written about poetry criticism.In addition to the Nobel Prize, Glück has received the Pulitzer Prize, National Humanities Medal, National Book Award, National Book Critics Circle Award, and Bollingen Prize.Glück attended Sarah Lawrence College and Columbia University but did not obtain a degree.

William James Collins is also known as Billy Collins. He is an American poet, appointed as Poet Laureate of the United States from 2001 to 2003. He is the Senior Distinguished Fellow of the Winter Park Institute at Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida. He was also considered as a Literary Lion of the New York Public Library and selected as the New York State Poet for 2004 through 2006.

Theodore J. Kooser is a poet, known for his conversational style of poetry.Kooser received the Pulitzer Prize in Poetry in 2005. He served as Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress from 2004 to 2006.Kooser is Presidential Professor Emeritus at The University of Nebraska, where he taught Poetry.Kooser's poems have appeared in literary periodicals and been collected in a number of full-length volumes and anthologies. His first book, the collection "Official Entry Blank," was published in 1969. For fifteen years, he edited a weekly syndicated newspaper column, “American Life in Poetry.”

Robert L. Hass is a poet. He served as Poet Laureate of the United States from 1995 – 1997.Hass's first collection, "Field Guide," was published in 1973. He has published seven collections of poetry and six books of criticism. He has also translated the work of poet Czesław Miłosz.Hass won the 2007 National Book Award and shared the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for the collection "Time and Materials: Poems 1997–2005." In 2014 he was awarded the Wallace Stevens Award from the Academy of American Poets.Hass received his undergraduate degree from Saint Mary's College his M.A. and Ph.D. in English from Stanford University.
