Sixth graders at Hillel Day School studied idioms and their origins. Students learned about the storytelling elements of an effective story mountain and creating dynamic characters. They also studied and practiced how to be descriptive writers using precise language and committing to either a first-person point of view or a third-person narrative point of view. These narratives are origin stories written, recorded and told by students.
