This is a fascinating story, and really exposes so much that can go wrong in a capital case. Interestingly, Ogrod was set free in 2020, largely thanks to the book "The Trials of Walter Ogrod" by Tom Lowenstein, who followed this case for 16 years and advocated for Walter as much or more than anyone else did. It was great that you commented on the low payout, that's an interesting and disheartening aspect of this. We are talking about 30 years of the life of someone with a developmental disability who is otherwise a perfectly decent man. And, a murderer that will never be held accountable. Great episode!
