This podcast is extremely good and it's possible that I binged the whole thing in an embarrassingly short period of time. At the basic tech level, audio quality is solid, editing is sharp, and the sound design ties everything together beautifully. But that's not why you're here. You're here because the cast has great chemistry and aren't afraid of putting their characters through some shit. You're here because the storytelling is aces and the keeper has built a world that feels so full that it's an absolute miracle that he can keep track of any of it. You're here for loveable NPCs, epic fights, and the twists and turns of an incredibly well-run Monster of the Week game (even if they play fast and loose with some of the rules). The cast played a season off-air, and it's a shame we don't get to listen to it, but there's a catch-up episode and season 2 gets you straight into the action. And hey, season 1 of critical role started mid-campaign and I hear that worked out just fine.
