The Pantaloon Society is a lovely piece of fiction, very whimsical and creepy and magical and eerie. The main character is just so wonderful you will definitely root for them! I appreciate that this is a story about clowns but doesn't fall into the boring old horror tropes, it's refreshing. And the availability of transcripts is definitely a huge plus for me. Definitely recommend this one to everyone who likes good voice acting and good unsettling stories.
Love the concept; it's nice to see a depiction of clowns and clowning that isn't cheap horror. (Pantaloon can have little a horror clowns, as a treat.) Secret society of clowns fighting eldritch horrors is just fun. It's queer and sweet. And a little horrifying, as any well-balanced dish should be.
Dr Lou Sutcliffe is a master storyteller, and combining eir prowess with a story about ancient clowns is, quite frankly, unfair on the rest of us. Amusingly eldritch, atmospheric and glorious.(Disclaimer: I played a monk in one episode, but please don't let that put you off)
This fascinating story has clowns, supernatural presents (I'm winking here), and plenty of creepy moments! Within the spooky storytelling there's also this elegant feel to it that I really dig, and the sound design pulled me right in. Can't wait to hear more from the creator!
This audio drama has got a delightful concept. A unique mix of circus imagery, english humor and eldritch horror. I am a big fan of the writing style and overall voice of the story. The range of Lou's acting, the sound design with its ambience as well as the occasional vocal fx really brings it to life. Go listen!
