Luke Allen (born Luke Allen Haughton) is an amateur filmmaker and podcaster who has been nominated for multiple awards. Luke has made short films starring such names as Greg Austin and Karl Pilkington and lives his life by the motto "If you don't ask, you don't get!".Luke's passion for film started in 2014 when he and his grandad, Roger Birtwhistle made a comedy short film together, 'Mr. Middle's Muddles'. Since then, they have both collaborated on several projects (including two sequels to the original short). In 2016, Luke started his first podcast, a YouTube only interview series recorded and edited just on his phone. Despite these restrictions, over the course of a year, Luke went from interviewing small YouTubers to interviewing TV stars Sophie Aldred and Matt Lucas. From 2016-17, Luke would occasionally post comedy sketches on his YouTube channel, Bottle O Productions. In July 2017, he edited some of these sketches together and entered them into the Film The House filmmaking competition, this entry got him into the finals of the competition at the House Of Commons.2018 marked the release of what Luke calls his "first proper short film", 'The Sixteenth Minute'. This film had a small scale release on YouTube but received reasonably good attention and got him nominated for two awards: - Film The House - Best Short Film (Under 16)- Young Artist Awards - Best Producer2018 was also the year that Luke launched his podcast, 'Please Be Seated', where himself and a special guest review a film of their choice. His guests have included comedian Andy Kind, egyptologist David Rohl and actress and writer Freya Hannan-Mills.From the start of 2019, Luke has been editing videos for award-winning comedian Andy Kind's YouTube channel and Facebook page. In July 2019, Luke released 'Con Man Denominator', a joint project with Joshua Allen, Ashley Poole and Alex Yousefi. The main highlight of 2019, however, was Luke's short film 'Unstable', which deals with the theme of addiction. This film was premiered on 7th December and was released online on 7th April 2020.In 2020, Luke directed 3 music videos ( 2 for Lara Collier, 1 for Recharge and Telford Knife Angel Project), released season 2 of 'Please Be Seated' and started the podcasts 'Two Minutes About Time' and 'Christmas Actually'.In 2021, Luke is set to co-direct the surrealist comedy 'Reduced To Clear' alongside Alex Yousefi (which they also co-wrote) and has multiple movies-by-minutes shows in the early stages of pre-production including "The Love, Rosie Podcast" with Elin Astbury.
