Currently, she is a Democratic representative in the Kentucky House of Representatives.After graduating from college, Scott worked as a community organizer on the issues of racial equality and criminal justice. In 2011, she joined the Louisville KY Metro Council. After losing the following election, she successfully ran for the Kentucky House, becoming the only African American woman currently serving in the Kentucky General Assembly.Scott received her B.A. in Political Science from Knoxville College, and her M.A. in Communications from the University of Tennessee.
