I was interested in the first part of the story about the pandemic victims but it was Act 2 that made me cry my eyes out as I listened walking down a main road. Miki's narration and translation was so calm, and at the perfect tempo, that I was totally absorbed by this phone booth I couldn't even see. A master class in about writing cultural differences in a way that is deeply moving. I didn't continue to Act 3 because I've heard it before, and it didn't seem a good follow up (much as I like Goldstein's story)
