RATING
Boring characters bad story line and the usual input on an overly discussed topic. Would have much rather heard an interview with Steven Dubner about his analysis of abortion or something besides the most basal attempt to have the listener engage about abortion. Didn’t feel for the leads cognitive dissonance or have empathy for the group think that lead the girl to feel cornered in the first place, you live with a cult and follow their rules then you take the medicine as it comes. Worst American life I have ever heard.
The first and third stories are both cute and frustrating, but the second story was just absolutely outstanding. Emma Green did an incredible job of teasing out the grey areas of personal belief, and thinking about how experience can complicate abstract morality, and how grief outweighs rules and laws. This story was compassionate and thought-provoking and just so human. I love how much this story and this show just cares about ordinary people.TAL is in such a dominant position that it can choose from among the best stories in the country, and it shows.
