Most of the situations you face in life aren’t covered by the rules. “Do I say something, or do I wait? Do I act, or should I be more passive?” The rules don’t cover those things, yet you will sink, and the people around you will sink, unless you get wisdom. Wisdom is having character of the mind and the heart that enables you to make the right choices in the places where the rules don’t apply.

Now how do you get that character? If we look at this passage in Proverbs 4, we’re going to see how this character develops, where it comes from, and how character can be transformed. The character that accords with wisdom.
