On today’s episode of Transforming Together we discuss health equity gaps in maternal and infant health care and the increasing need for Howard County, MD to adopt a Maternity Partnership Program to serve the growing number of uninsured women. We are joined by CASA organizer Viviana Lozano and recent immigrant mothers from Honduras, Nolvia Reyes and Yusi Ramirez, to share their stories as Latina mothers and women who are uninsured seeking maternal and infant care in Howard County. We start by unpacking the root causes of the health equity gap, then move towards a detailed look at Howard County and its major gaps in care, and then end with an incredible interview with these three women about their experience and what they want to see change. To learn more about the movement to bring the maternity partnership program to Howard County and to support equitable maternity care in Howard County please sign this petition https://wearecasa.org/updates/support-equitable-maternity-care-in-howard-county/
