Join Katie and Liz on this week’s episode of True Crime New England as they take you to the small town of East Millinocket, Maine, where tragedy struck in 1980. 16-year-old Joyce McLain went on her usual jog on a warm summer night, when she didn’t return home. Two days later, her body was found with a large wound to her head, and her hands tied behind her back. Despite having a local young man confess to her murder over 20 times in police interviews and to friends and family, an arrest wasn’t made for 37 years. Finally, in 2018, Joyce and her family got justice with the successful sentencing of Phillip Scott Fournier, who is spending the rest of his natural life in jail for the senseless crime.
