Until the late 20th Century, the radio play was a hallmark of theatrical entertainment. That is until the emergence of television pushed the radio play into obscurity. However, with the rise of the podcast and other technologies, theatre is finding new ways to reach the public. Theatre’s biggest disadvantage has always been it’s lack of accessibility, but in the modern age it doesn’t have to be. Enter TV Killed the Radio Play, a monthly podcast that takes original works and broadcasts them to an eager audience. All shows are performed by the Radio Players, the in house theatre company of talented actors and musicians. With original music, original writing and compelling performances, TV Killed the Radio Play resurrects the long dead art form that entertained so many for so long.
