On 23 October 2019, 39 bodies were found inside an articulated lorry in Essex, United Kingdom. Eight were women. They have now been identified as Vietnamese nationals, and at the time of recording, their names had not been released. They are believed to be migrants being smuggled into the UK, or victims of human trafficking. Several arrests have been made in the UK, and to date, 11 arrests in Vietnam.
