In this episode, you’ll hear from Justine McIntyre. She was elected to Montreal City Council November 2013, and served until 2017. In 2015, she became leader of the political party Vrai changement pour Montréal. The party had been founded by Mélanie Joly, who is currently the Federal Minister of Minister of Tourism, Official Languages and La Francophonie in Justin Trudeau’s government.
Justine began her career as a classical musician. After graduating from McGill University in1998 with a bachelor’s in Music, specializing in Piano performance, she went on to perform in and produce numerous concerts and solo recitals, and worked as an accompanist and choral conductor.
Currently, Justine is completing a DESS in the Management - Sustainable Development program at HEC Montréal, while working in public relations in the field of sustainable mobility. She is a member of the board of Climatable, an NGO focused on climate change literacy. And works with the Last Post Fund, a charity whose mission is to ensure that "no Veteran is denied a dignified funeral and burial, as well as a military gravestone, due to insufficient funds at time of death."
What you are about to hear is the raw, unedited version of the conversation, which we did in one sitting. At the 1h19m mark of the episode we do the Learning Sessions with Sean.
