Whether Chicago neighborhoods are fighting to protect their identity due to uncontrollable real estate practices or the working class aims just to keep housing affordable throughout the city, the debate is intensifying. One thing to remember is that Chicago is not the only city fighting for affordable housing. Join me as I traveled to Toronto, Ontario and discussed their current housing situation with Kenneth Hale, the Director of Advocacy and Legal Services for the Advocacy Centre of Tenants Ontario, roughly a year after Rent Control was passed in their province. The purpose of this trip is to identify the similarities, best practices and gain insight as Chicago's looks for answers.Disclaimer: The music heard is not my own or of my property.
