By giving alms in secret, there are at least five virtues that we can get, namely: 1. Protecting the honor of the recipient of alms. Because, some people are reluctant to beg even though they really need it, this is because they maintain their honor. 2. Guarding the hearts and tongues of humans and anticipating the emergence of envy (hasad) from them. When we give alms in secret, the potential for human incitement will be minimized. 3. Maintaining the secrecy of charity is part of Islamic etiquette, because with it, we will avoid being arrogant or arrogance.
