I want to give this 10 stars. I keep singing "I was born at the right time"
The music in this show is such a bop! I need more pop punk podcasts.
A hilarious nostalgic trip through pop punk culture
DNF@50%. Great cast, production and music. I was a big Avril Lavigne fan in high school too so there's a fun nostalgia aspect to it. Not all of the jokes land but there's some funny moments. At halfway through, I want to feel more invested in the characters or the plot at least but I find myself just waiting for the story to get better. Moving on for now but will update if I come back.
Come for the 90s music, stay for the comedy. This one is a non-stop riot that hits all the marks for a quality show.
Okay so, I've only just finished episode 3, but I'm LOSING MY MIND. This is one of the most unique fiction podcasts I've listened to and the sound production (at least in my non-professional opinion) is just top-notch. Also the songs are genuinely so good?!?!? I grew up in the 90's/00's and 2005 was my first Warped, and this hits just the right spot when it comes to a good amount of parody and just the right amount of nostalgia. Flat out, it's just f*cking fun. If the title or description has you intrigued, you should absolutely give it a listen.
Being nearly 40, Pop-punk was what I grew up with... So "who Killed Avril Lavigne" (https://feeds.captivate.fm/wkal/) is hitting all my spots! This full cast musical comedy is great, plus the songs are being released on Spotify to coincide with episode releases. The songs are so good... They certainly stand up, even without the podcast, brilliantly written and produced.I'm dusting off my vans, baggy jeans and wallet chain as I speak.
A comedy following a guy from 2022 who travels through time to save the world and follow his dream of becoming a pop-punk star. The music in the show is genuinely top notch - well-produced, fun to listen to - and captures the genre so well. Includes parody of prophesy stories and early 2000s culture (some of the characters' jokes are so homophobic they wrap around to being gay). A fun listen.
A wonderful, unique comedy podcast that's just the right blend of parody, drama and music. Great songs in it too! Haven't been able to get "B*tch Mom" out of my head!
